Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric Gameplay Footage

SEGA has just confirmed via their blog that both versions of Sonic Boom will be available to play at E3 this year. Both games will effectively be their own individual titles, with their own completely unique game play style and mechanics.
The Wii U version has been subtitled Rise of Lyric. It’s a 3D action title that will focus on battle and exploration as Sonic and his friends work to stop a new villain, an ancient robotic snake creature called Lyric from awakening his robotic army and destroying the world. According to the press release, “an extremely tech-savvy mastermind who uses a sophisticated robotic body of armor to carry out his own nefarious deeds, he is a formidable enemy and a force to be reckoned with.” Rise of Lyric will feature new moves for Sonic and his friends, including something called an “enerbeam”, which some may remember from the Sonic Boom TV show teaser released back in February. Using the enerbeam, players can zip-line around levels, move heavy objects, disarm enemies, and throw them around.
The 3DS version has been called Shattered Crystal. We’ve got details of that game, as well as images of Lyric and both games below the fold!
Shattered Crystal is a side scrolling adventure that will focus on puzzles and platforming. The storyline is somewhat smaller in scope, as Sonic and his friends must work together to rescue Amy Rose from Lyric. Joining Sonic this time around will be Sonic Boom’s own original character, Not-Marine Sticks the Badger.

Phantasy Star Nova (PSP Vita)
It is confirmed that Phantasy Star Nova will take place in the same world as Phantasy Star Online 2 and have its own story. Characters in the game include Lutina (Maaya Uchida), Seil (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), Izuna (Ai Kayano), Fordia (Miyuki Sawashiro).
The developers state that the game will be closer to Phantasy Star Online when you compare it to the atmosphere. ‘Survival’ is one of the visual concepts the team want to show in the game and there will be features such as costume destruction, which hasn’t been applied to a Phantasy Star game before.
Character creation is of course similar to that found in Phantasy Star Online but with more ‘realistic textures’. Phantasy Star Nova is based on Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 1 version, it hasn’t been confirmed if new races that appear in Episode 2 will make it into this PS Vita game.
The battle system is suppose to be completely different from Phantasy Star Online 2, so players that are new to the series won’t have to know much to jump in. When you start Phantasy Star Nova, the player won’t have facilities, but those are unlockable over time. How its unlocked is decided per player actions.
Like always there is going to be ad-hoc multiplayer, sadly no word for its online infastructure as of today. More details will be revealed during the ‘Phantasy Star festival’ that will take place June 15th.

A Shining RPG for the Playstation 3. The game is called ‘Shining Resonance‘ and is being developed by Media Vision (Wild Arms series, Shining Ark and Valkyria Chronicles III). Tony Taka is also being confirmed as returning for the game’s character designs.

Good news everyone. We begged, we pleaded and it finally happened! Bayonetta joins Jack of Mad World fame and a host of other off the wall characters as a playable character in Sega and Platinum Games’ 16 player online beat-em-up Anarchy Reigns!

SEGA’s Ben Harbone is teasing Dreamcast fans, but it’s a good kind of teasing. In a video interview with Gamesreactor, Harbone hints at Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia being the next Dreamcast titles to hit download services. Said Harbone, “Those are a couple of our most requested games. I can’t say ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ but we may be working on them.” Don’t let us down SEGA, both of those titles would sell like hotcakes, and I’d love to see them sell so well that we get a sequel for either one!

SEGA has finally let us know the release date of House of the Dead 4. It will be coming to PSN on April 17th and will set you back 10 dollars. Cheap price to pay, this is also the first time this game has been released on a home console. So I’m very excited.
Some of the key features from the port:
* PlayStation Move compatible
* Multi-player mode
* Multiple paths
* Ranking and grading system to track your shot accuracy
* Additional levels from The House of the Dead 4 Special
* Bonus unlockable PlayStation Home item
* Original creator interview
* Trophies
Playstation Plus owners will get a early demo from April 10th through April 24th. They will also have a limited time 30% discount on the full game when it comes out. Plus they also get an exclusive dynamic theme and avatars to pimp their PS3 XMB. Though the avatars are free if you buy the game (plus or not) by June 1st!

Sonic Generations Demo is out for a limited time on both PSN and Xbox Live. Hurry and play it while you still can and leave your impressions here!
Spiral Knights which is a free to play MMO by Three Rings and published by SEGA is now on Steam! I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes simple but addictive games. It's a mix of Zelda meets PSO with a neat art style~

* Please if you can, submit any SEGA themed art, stories and media to us. We will provide credit and a link back to your FA page via submission. You can contribute by sending links of your work via notes or comments to SEGAFurs though we would prefer notes so your comment goes directly to us.
* All submissions should follow these guidelines...
- The submission must be SEGA-related, it is what we are all about after all.
- Fan Character artwork might fall under scrutiny since we are looking for fan-art and not necessarily author/artist based creations. Exceptions may occur if they are decked out in Sega gear or something along those lines.
