There seems to be a wave of horrific animal abuse stories going around recently. One close to home is about Joe the cat who was shot 17 times in the head with a pellet gun. Luckily he got help in time and is recovering and some arrests have been made. There's also a petition going around if anyone is interested in signing it in order to get tougher animal cruelty laws here in Ontario.

Two other heart shattering stories that I've heard was about the puppy who was fed bleach and the kitten who's owner put him in a microwave for 5 minutes.

1. Why did you join FurAffinity?
I followed  Kyoht's World of Warcraft artwork here. Was extremely surprised to see adult furry stuff as I'd been searching for it FOREVER (guess I wasn't looking in the right places lol). I joined FA in order to post my own more mature furry art since when I had some stuff up on Deviantart it didn't get the best welcome.

2. What does your username have to do with you?
Seiko was a name I gave to my OC in some Fushigi Yuugi fanfics I did way long ago. It then became a general internet alias but sadly it was taken whenever I needed a username. I added the "X" because I wrote and drew adult work. It wasn't until I was playing some online game with a couple of FA users when someone pointed out that my name sounded out as "say cocks". I don't mind though as more cocks are never a bad thing :P I generally respond though to Seiko or Sei online.

3. What is your current avatar of?
A picture of a femshep that resembles my own (cause she's badass) and Garrus who is the hottest-sniper-alien-most-awesome-turian-Batman-of-Mass-Effect-guy that I would jump in a heartbeat... and we're getting off topic now...

I love a whole ton of artists so it's very difficult to pick just three. Three that come to me at this moment though would be 1)  Trogan because he draws the HOTTEST equines EVER and I tend to use him a lot for reference for drawing James. 2)  Blotch just because I love absolutely everything those two girls put out. 3)  WhiteMantis as she has some of the most vividly coloured art as well as just all around amazingly original characters (I NEVER would have thought a Rhino beetle would be sexy but she proved me otherwise).

7. What artist do you admire because of their personality?
I haven't really spoken to many artists that I watch. I did chat a bit with  Kaylii and got a commission from her and she was just as sweet as pie :)

I fave a lot of stuff I like and will comment here and there. I tend to reply more to people commenting on my own art.

It's one of those quiet Sunday afternoons that's just on the edge of boring lol. So I thought I'd post one of these journals.

I went away to a conference last week and picked up a wonderful head cold/chest infection. Had to call in sick to my job my past two shifts which sucks because I have a ton of work piling up because no one else takes the initiative to do it when I'm off. Guess that's what sucks when you work in health care, normally if I had a cold and cough and worked at retail or something, I'd still go in and hack and sneeze in the backroom between customers. Because I work with in geriatrics, the risk of giving them a cold could ultimately mean a death sentence since a majority of them are already quite sickly as is.

If that wasn't bad enough I've been stuck in a horrid art block where everything I draw just seems.... hair pulling out bad. I think I've redrawn a panel in my comic a billion times and still not happy with it. At this rate it feels as if the comic will finish in about 2014 x.x

Just finished this one and was pretty impressed and thought others may enjoy it. It's a Korean monster movie (with subtitles) with a really neat creature. It has some great looking shots, gives you a good range of emotions and it has a pretty solid ending (I find a lot of really good movies these days tend to fizzle at the end).

I've been mulling over an idea as of late. In my future comics I have areas where I have scenes that need to be filled by background extras and thought it may be more fun to have them filled with other people's fursonas/characters (chance to get free art of them). If you're interested just post a reply to this journal with visual references (easier to go by) of your character and a quick blurb about their personality.

Things I'm Looking For:

1) These must be your characters, I don't feel like getting into trouble with other artists :P
2) Characters can't be based on toons from Pokemon and Digimon, etc. since these shows exist in my comic. I think James would find it rather odd seeing a giant Pinkachu walking around downtown London.
3) Characters can't be macro or micro, they must have body proportions that we'd see in our world.
4) Mythical creatures are allowed, such as dragons, unicorns, gryphons, etc.
5) No extreme fur colours, they have to resemble something close to what we'd see in nature (mythical beasts excluded of course). There are some exceptions, but no hot pink and neon green huskies running around town.
6) No characters with sixteen sets of wings, twenty tails, three heads, laser beams for eyes...
7) All ages welcome, I need children and older adults living in this world just as much as I need people in their 20's :)

Some Points to Keep in Mind:
1) Credit will be given when I use someone's character.
2) I will not be making any money off my comics, these are free to the general public.
3) I may post the comics on any site I choose (such as here, Inkbunny, and well... that's all at this point :P )
4) Do not get upset when I don't pick your characters. These slots are random and there isn't an order I'll be picking toons, no first come first serve thing.
5) Please don't ask how long the comic will take, when I'll get around to picking your character, etc. I admit I'm slow at art, but bugging me about it won't make me want to go any faster.
6) If you change your mind at any time just reply to your original post saying you're withdrawing your character. If I've already drawn your character I'm not going back and changing it tho :P
7) I'll try to post what scenarios I'll be needing "extras" in. If you feel strong about not having your char. appear in certain scenarios, just reply to your original post letting me know.
8) I may chose to draw someones character multiple times. Don't get upset if your character was only drawn once or hasn't been picked yet.
9) No getting upset if your character isn't the focus of the comic panel or isn't interacting with my guys.
10) If I don't quite get your markings/colours right, I apologize now but I won't be going back and redoing them.

This is a long term project. I have tons of comics planned and these will take time. I also have my request list and my current comic to finish (which won't have extra characters in it). The reason I'm asking this now is because by the time I get to my next comic I want a well established list of characters to choose from. All my comics revolve around my chars. James and Maalik and take place mainly in London, ON.

Rant #1: One of the staff at my work told me that the public schools are considering getting rid of teaching cursive writing because soon every kid will just use laptops and won't have need to do it. I'm in disagreement with this. You shouldn't take away teaching skills in school, you just add new ones as they come. I see cursive as an art form and a "graduation" from printing. People still use cursive writing in personal notes, signatures and so forth. Got into an argument with my boyfriend over this who agrees that it should be scrapped since it's useless these days and no one uses it anymore due to computers and texting.

Wondering what other people think about this issue.

Rant #2: Same lady at my work told me about how her son, who has some learning disabilities, was hit by a car last year. He went though a ton of physiotherapy and counseling and now is back in school. In addition to the previous disabilities he's also facing anger problems and is having a lot of difficulty expressing his emotions since the accident. A group of kids at the school have started bullying him because of all this. One day at recess, one of the bullies told this kid "You need to go lay down in the road and get hit by a car again, then maybe you'll actually die and things will turn out right". In turn her son began yelling back at the bully and swearing at him. This whole conversation was overheard by a school staff member and her son ended up getting suspending because of being verbally abusive towards the bully. The reasoning behind the suspension was because they have a three strike rule. If you screw up three times you get suspended, doesn't matter what the strikes are. Could be you were rude to a teacher, bullying others, skipped a class, doesn't matter. Her son already had two strikes against him from non related matters and this was the third, so he got in trouble. The bully however wasn't at his third strike and thus nothing happened to him for his comment to her son. The lady was in tears when she told this story to me.

What the hell is wrong with schools these days??

How can one become a werewolf?:
There are two ways to become a werewolf. 1) Pure bloods are born to werewolf parents. 2) Sired werewolves are humans who are given a large amount of werewolf blood via a transfusion. The body's immune system defenses are overwhelmed and cannot destroy the foreign blood. The werewolf DNA is then incorporated into the host cells and through reverse transcription, the cells begin producing copies of the werewolf DNA mixed with human. Eventually every cell of the host contains werewolf DNA, and this allows for werewolf traits such as shifting and the extending lifespan.

Lifespan:
Werewolves (both pure blood and sired) will generally never die from old age. Werewolves age naturally up until puberty at which the changes in hormone fluctuations causes werewolf traits to surface, such as shifting and a seemingly halt in their aging.

Mortality:
As far as aging is concerned werewolves are immortal. The only true way of killing a werewolf is to sever the brain from the heart. The easiest way to accomplish this is to cut off the werewolf's head. Any connection from the brain to the heart (be it blood vessels, nervous system etc) can result in re-genesis of damaged tissues and thus the revitalization of the werewolf.

Intelligence/Self control:
Pure blood and sired werewolves have self control most times. Extreme anger, fear, or certain smells (such as a breeding female) can cause a lapse in judgment and allow the feral side of the werewolf to dominate.

Height:
Can be anywhere from 1-3 feet. Males tend to grow more than females when shifting.

Fur colors (wolf colors or human hair colors?):
Human form hair color generally is what the fur color will be.

Main killing weapon....teeth or claws?:
Teeth! Werewolves are fans of digging their claws into the flesh of their prey and ripping huge chunks of meat off with their jaws.

Preferred food:
Werewolves typically will hunt large forest animals for their everyday meals. Human flesh however is a necessity and if a werewolf goes too long without it they will become fatigued and weaker than normal. The craving for human flesh is linked back to the very first werewolf and how the child's first feast was the flesh from his human mother.

Run on all fours or two?
They are much more comfortable and faster running on all four legs. They can lope and walk on two but the increased length of their limbs and the changed structure of their chest and feet when in feral form hinders speed.


Body type (bulky, hunched, lithe, more wolflike, etc... feel free to link!) :
Werewolf form will have certain resemblance to human form (ie. if they are husky in human form, their werewolf form will also be husky). All werewolves upon shifting will have an increase in height, muscle mass, and weight. Attributes like smell and sight increase as well. Werewolf form looks like a wolf, not like a hairy human or a furry ape (like in most werewolf movies...). Werewolves have human like hands with opposable thumbs but the fingers are stubbier and have paw pads. They can stand on two or four legs, they have tails, sheaths (males), large jaws and teeth. Lifestyle - More time as wolf or human?
Werewolves began spending more time in human form as humans began settling down and creating large communities. They adopted human habits such as clothing etc to not attract outside attention. When in their own homes with their clan, werewolves will generally shift freely, and it is common to see werewolves walking around nude in human form (clothing is a hinder to shifting and werewolves will generally try to wear as little layers as possible while in human form).

Forms (human, wolf, beast/anthro, etc):
Human and a feral form (feral form does not look like a normal wolf, you can tell its a supernatural creature).

Shifting Cause (moon, free will, ritual, etc.):
There are four different "species" of werewolves and each have different influences for shifting:
1) The Wolfman/Cursed werewolf - This type of werewolf is caused by a curse from a witch. Usually it will be cast onto a man who has wronged the witch or another woman. The man will be under the influence of the cycles of the moon and he will grow fur, fangs, and claws on the days before, during, and after a full moon. This type of werewolf cannot control themselves while shifted and will seek out flesh and blood. They can be extremely dangerous to pets, livestock, and humans wandering alone during the full moon. Often times these werewolves are killed by a mob. These werewolves do not have any of the healing properties or extended lifespan of true werewolves and can die to anything that can kill a normal human. The wolfman cannot remember anything from when he was shifted. The curse can only be broken by the witch who cast the curse or by a gypsy.

2) Plagued/tainted werewolves - The origin of these werewolves was believed to be the result of a curse from a vampire magi onto a human man. She had fallen in love with the man and had defied her coven to be with him, but in the end he had left her for a human female. The magi was furious and cursed him to become a beast and destroy all that he had loved. As a vampire she has a deep respect for true werewolves and thus only put on him the darkest and most primal of the werewolf traits, such as the craving for human flesh and ferociousness. Plagued werewolves can shift unintentionally with extreme emotion. Their human form can also will itself to shift anytime they want however once shifted they can no longer control themselves and thus are an extreme danger to everything around them. These werewolves have a slightly longer lifespan and better healing properties than humans. They are very strong and fast and move generally on two legs instead of four. These werewolves have a very ratty like appearance, dark fur, and long fingers, ears, and muzzle. These werewolves produce normal human children however their bite is infectious and the "plague" can be passed onto other humans who are attached and bitten.

3) True werewolves - These are the offspring of the human mother Rhea and the devil and they are kin to vampires. They are the most powerful of all the werewolf species and they are immortal to age and disease. Their shifting is by free will, although they do not gain the ability to shift until puberty. Shifting is faster and easier under the light of the full moon.

4) Wolfen - These are spirit wolves. They resemble normal wolves but are twice the size. Wolfen will appear in forests that are healthy and untouched by humans. Shifting to human form is by free will but wolfen will only use shifting as a defensive means should they be threatened.

Shifting Process (is it painful? fast? Can they do it on the run?):
True werewolves find their first few shifts painful and it can take a rather long time. As time passes shifting becomes easier and can complete in 10-20 seconds. They can shift on the move as well. The first signs of shifting is a change in eye color and extension of the canine teeth.

Abilities retained in human form:
Extended lifespan and healing properties. They have above average senses such as smell and sight and enhanced strength and speed but no where near what they have in wolf form.

Physical traits retained in human form:
Hair color.

Any mortal enemies (ex. vampires?) :
Humans pose a threat in large groups and with weapons. Silver can be used to hinder the healing properties of the werewolf. Silver bullets and spikes do not allow the surrounding flesh to heal and the werewolf can become weak from loss of blood and this allows their enemies to get close for an attack on the head or heart. Certain vampire covens are enemies to werewolves. Vampires in groups are extremely dangerous to a werewolf. Vampires are faster than werewolves and can weave in and out slashing and gouging the werewolf until it becomes weak from loss of blood. Vampires will then, most commonly, either severe the head from the body or rip out the heart from the chest cavity and consume it. However if a vampire is caught by the werewolf, it's as good as dead. Werewolves have much more brutal strength than vampires. Plagued werewolves are enemies to both true werewolves and vampires, especially breeding females and offspring.

Loners, or pack-animals?
They are pack animals. Werewolves live in clans with fellow kin. Female werewolves often are sent to their mate's clan to live.
