EA does another oopsie and pisses of Sims fans
General | Posted 5 years agoWell, EA likes being EA which means they like pissing people off. specifically, fans of the Sims series... yet another game series i was never a fan of and never gotten into... XD
if you haven't kept up with the Sims:
we are currently at Sims 4 and when that particular game was released it was released with very... mixed results. that's because a lot of the features from the previous games had been removed... only to sell them later as separate expansion packs or feature packs or whatever EA likes to call their little transactions. at the moment, to get the full experience of Sims 4, meaning the base game including all the features that are sold separately after they had been cut out from the game, you need to pay well over 700$... all the bigger expansions are 40$ and all of them together will cost a total of 360$ while the smaller addon packs cost 10$ each with all of them totalling 310$, meaning 670$ for all expansion without the base game. the base game itself will cost another 40 or 50$, depending on whether you buy the base game or the "deluxe" edition
so, already a very costly thing
so
what did EA do to royally piss Sims fans of?
well... long story short: EA had a poll in which Sims players could vote what kind of new DLC package they want next... or rather they made a poll to ask player what kind of DLC players would be willing to pay yet another 40$ for...
in this poll, various options were listed for players to select and vote upon...
...
aaaaand then EA decided to take the least wanted idea, the one idea with the least amount of votes, and turn that into a DLC
yes, you heard correctly. they made a poll to let people vote and then decided to give everyone a giant fuck you by choosing the one with the least votes...
in case you can't visualize it: this is like having a race and after the race is over, the gold medal is awarded to the guy who came in last rather than the guy who came in first
so... yeah... people are pissed... while EA most likely has a surprised pikachu face...
P.S.
the DLC is called "Star Wars Journey to Batuu" and apparently this is meant as an add for Disney's Star Wars Theme Park "Galaxy's Edge" because the Theme Park is on the fictional planet of Batuu. so on top of EA releasing a DLC that players didn't want, they are selling a glorified add-campaign for a theme park on top of that.

A simple rebuke to Pence Speech
General | Posted 5 years agoIn a recent speech, Mike Pence from the Trump Administration said the following quote:
"The hard truth is *pause for dramatic effect* you won't be safe in Joe Biden's america"
well, I'm neither american nor do I live in the US but it sure as hell doesn't look any safer in Trump's america right now... quite the opposite actually. which begs the question: what's his point? why bring it up? is he implying that somehow, through sheer magic I assume, its any safer in america right now? or that it would be any safer if Trump were to remain in office for another 4 years? because it won't. it won't be any safer.
last I checked, Trump didn't had the ability of making a Thanos finger snap to make all the problems and protests that racked through the US for the past few months disappear. speaking of, if anything, rather than try to make the problems go away, Trump and his administration added more oil to the already burning fire...
remember Lafayette Square where the Trump administration weaponized the police and forced them to commit an unlawful act against an assembly of people who exercised their first amendment rights of peaceful assembly and protest? who followed and obeyed the law, having done nothing whatsoever to justify this assault on Freedom of Speech which saw various news teams foreign and domestic caught as collateral? and all of this just so that Trump could cross a street and take a photo in front of a church holding a bible?
or how Trump and his administration calling in the national guard against the wishes of local governors to quell protests, which only escalated hostilities and caused even more violence?
Mike Pence can say "you won't be safe in Joe Biden's america" all he wants...
but... and that's a very big but...
I take a look at america of right now...
I take a look at america of the past few months...
and to that, I say:
"you aren't safe in Trump's america right now, so what's the difference?"
...
I'm having flashbacks to that infamous speech by the EA representative... you know the one... "oh, they are not lootboxes, they are surprise mechanics"
anyone else having these flashbacks or is it just me?

Shareholders Deny EA Execs Multi-Million Dollar Raise
General | Posted 5 years agoNot to long ago, Shareholders and Investors denied greedy slimeball Bobby Kotick a multi million dollar raise.
aaand now the same happened again to Executives at EA.
I have no love for Shareholders and Investors because they are part of the reason why gamers like you and me keep getting sold unfinished products littered with micro-transaction bullshit... buuut... well...
I dunno, guys... if even Shareholders, who are only interested in getting profit from their investments into video game companies, tell people like Bobby Kotick and the Execs at EA "hey, you're getting to greedy, you won't get that raise"... well, that is saying something
could this be the beginning of a shift within the video game industry, i wonder? are we going to see people in executive positions being replaced because Shareholders consider them to greedy to remain in office?
we'll find out as time goes by but hey... a little wishful thinking can't hurt

Executive Order banning Tencent could be devestating
General | Posted 5 years agookay guys, this is huge... like super huge...
and I have some very mixed feelings about this
Trump has issued an executive order banning chinese companies and transactions with chinese companies. like Tencent for example and this is huge. in case you don't remember: Tencent is the company behind censoring Freedom of Speech during the Blitzchung affair and many many other incidents like that. its a huge chinese company that western companies are forced to work with, otherwise they get no access to the chinese market. this in turn means that Tencent is working very closely with the chinese government and enforcing rules of censorship enforced by the chinese government.
Tencent also owns 100% of Riot Games, the company that made League of Legends, it owns 40% of Ubisoft and there are many other companies, like Activision Blizzard, that Tencent has its slimy fingers in to ensure that chinese censorship rules are enforced and that dissident voice supporting freedom of speech in Hong Kong or China are silenced.
so, on one hand, I'm kinda happy to see that this company is on the receiving end of a giant "fuck you middlefinger". on the other hand though, this order was issued by Trump and his administration who is just as much of an authoritarian than the chinese government is and just like the chinese government, Trump has no issue whatsoever to the order police, who's purpose it is to protect & serve and uphold the law, to brutally attack peaceful protesters just so that Trump can cross a street and take a photo with a bible in his hand.
so him issuing this executive order, while at first giving me a sensation of elation of joy because fuck chinese censorship, also fills me with worry and dread... not because I particular like Tencent, far from it, Tencent can burn in hell for all i care, but because of TikTok and WeChat. now, I don't use TikTok and WeChat myself but there are many other people who use them as they are social media. they are also owned by a chinese company... which probably means that anyone who actually uses either of these services is being spied upon, even here in the west.
I mean, come on people... this is the chinese government we're talking about, you really trust these guys to keep their censoring within the borders on china? I don't and I wouldn't be surprised if users who post things like "freedom for Hong Kong" end up with their messages disappearing and their accounts being banned...
anyways...
one of the things about TikTok and WeChat is though, even with the very high likelihood of users being spied upon, both services have been used a lot by people within the US to voice their opinions, displeasures and disagreements not only with Trump himself but also the Trump administration.
considering that the next election is coming up rapidly and that Trump's popularity has been dropping dramatically (and justifiably so), I cannot help but shake the feeling that this ban is an attempt by Trump to enforce some censorship on his own. see, the thing is... despite all the jokes we like to make, Trump isn't exactly stupid. he knows that if he just bans TikTok and WeChat, everyone would accuse him of censorship. if he bans all chinese companies however, these accusations are a lot harder to prove...
so you can see why i have very mixed feelings about this... i both celebrate and loathe it at the same time, its weird...
anyways, for us gamers, this is likewise a pretty big fucking deal 'cause like i said at the start: Tencent owns Riot Games who are responsible for League of Legends. I don't play LoL myself but there's a lot of people that do, probably even some of you guys reading this. and like i said, Tencent has its fingers in many other companies as well
its very likely that this is something that will be challenged and fought out in court, we are likely to see lawsuits over this
but either way, the future has become very uncertain in many ways for us gamers. are many of the games continue business as usual? are they gonna change in some weird ways that none of us can foresee as of yet? or are some of them going to seize operation completely and simply stop existing?
I don't know guys... we'll have to wait and find out

Fuck China
General | Posted 5 years agoIt's weird to make another political journal with the same title just one month later but here we go:
fuck China and fuck the chinese government
to keep a long story short and get straight to the point:
remember when i made a journal several months ago where I mentioned that the chinese government is trying to control access and limit the consume of video games using things like real name verification, social security number check and even facial recognition technology?
well guess what:
its happening and it's going to launch nationwide in china in September.
I don't think I need to go into a huge rant how this system that will require minors and children to provide their real names, social security numbers and even face recognition can be easily exploited and abused by the chinese government, especially in order to root out any attempts of sedition by those pesky troublemakers who value things like freedom of speech and opinion.
this is some high level authoritarian communism right there...

Ghost of Tsushima is awesome
General | Posted 5 years agoWell... Ghost of Tsushima released about 2 weeks ago... aaand I'm still playing it.
honestly, there isn't much for me to tell you guys at this point. a lot of youtubers have released their reviews and you probably have seen them already
basically, the game is The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt but set in feudal japan during the mongol invasion. that's the best way to describe it. the game has everything that a fan of samurai movies would want. there's awesome and dramatic 1-on-1 duels that serve as boss fights, there's several different kinds of samurai armor and feudal japanese outfits for character customization, there's archery, there's ninja tools, there's different stances with different combat moves for your sword that reminds me a little bit of Nioh... there's even a black and white film grain mode to emulate the classic old school samurai movies by legendary filmmaker Akira Kurosawa that you can toggle on and off at will, if that's your thing (though i admit: i prefer playing in color )
Ghost of Tsushima is an awesome game and well worth the asking price. a lot of love and care has been crafted into this game, the story and character are enjoyable, the world is large with lots of things for you to explore and discover, the combat is fun...
its just an all around awesome game
the only bad thing i have to say about the game is that, just like Nioh 2, at the moment it is a PS4 exclusive... though with Sony's attitude of bringing formerly exclusive PS4 titles to the PC like Horizons Zero Dawn, there's hope that we'll see both games arrive on the PC eventually. especially for Nioh 2 since the first one is available on PC.

Amazon game fails, IGN steals, Reset Era bans Angry Joe
General | Posted 5 years agoRather than make 2 or 3 Journals for today's 3 topics, I figured I just summarize them in one journal for your convenience... especially since most of the stuff is in the Youtube videos I link lol
so... Amazon...
Amazon is trying to get into the gaming market, they founded their very own studio and already released a game called Crucible... and it fails so bad that it become unreleased. that's right folks, the game is so frigging bad that Amazon reverted the game's status from "released" to "beta". yikes... that's... that's not very good for an upcoming game studio lol.
Crucible is essentially everything I'm not interested in as a game, basically some kind of arena shooter like Overwatch with elements of DOTA or something mixed in... I don't play either of those games because I don't have any interest so like I said: Crucible is everything i'm not interested in a game :-P
for those who are interested in that sort of thing though, well... it was kind of a colossal disappointment. a disappointment so bad that the game unreleased itself, lol.
only time can tell what Amazon's game studio will be able to do with future games they release for the public but the whole Crucible disaster is not a good start to inspire much confidence...

now... IGN
oh, IGN...
you know the popular meme/saying "you can't spell ignorance without IGN" ?
well, its true
its... what? a year or so ago where IGN got into the shit because one of their "journalists" (or yearnalists 'cause these poser wish they were journalists lol) was caught stealing and plagiarizing the review for the game Dead Cells as well as stealing and plagiarizing various other stuff right underneath IGN's nose? I mean, they did fire the guy who then tried and failed to play victim (no surprise there, fuck that piece of shit lol )
well, guess what? it happened again. IGN stealing more stuff. this time around, they are stealing content from a Youtuber called Babyzone who made some funny Deep Fake videos about celebrity skins for Mortal Kombat. they just straight on took the guys video without asking him for permission or even giving him credit. once again, a very scummy thing to do but that's IGN and modern day professional game journalism to you.

Angry Joe
let's talk about Angry Joe again, one of my favorite youtubers
so... Angry Joe had to endure a lot of shit recently... first there were the public allegations for sexual harassment against Angry Joe who were immediately withdrawn and taken off the net after Angry Joe send them a Cease and Desist order written by a lawyer, which gives strong credence that these allegations were fabricated and the person making these allegations was lying.
and then we had The Last of Us 2 review... yeah, Angry Joe didn't like The Last of Us 2. not really shocking, most people with half a brain don't like the game for more reasons than I care to count.
well, following his honest review of The Last of Us 2, Angry Joe has been accused of being a misogynist by a GameSpot writer and his fellow shills. all people, mind you, who praised the game like it was the best thing ever. and these shills wonder why gamers, their very own audience, hates them and calls them shills and fake news lol

well, Angry Joe's review of the game didn't fly over well with people at ResetEra
apparently, the people running ResetEra also fall in the category of narrow minded shills that spend every moment of their life bending over backwards to grovel and please their mighty overlord, Neil Druckman and his 1000 out of 10 unrivaled-for-all-eternity-masterpiece: The Last of Us 2.
the people running ResetEra, who previously were very supportive of Angry Joe and enjoyed both his content, sharing it and having Angry Joe on their forum, did not like Angry Joe's The Last of Us 2 review
as a result, the people of ResetEra have decided to completely deplatform Angry Joe and ban him for life on ResetEra.
because Angry Joe didn't like The Last of Us 2 and the audacity to voice his opinion on a fucking video game, he is no longer welcome on the ResetEra forums for the rest of his life

fuck these people and fuck ResetEra
you want to know how you can get a ban for life on ResetEra? just make a post stating that you don't like The Last of Us 2 or that you don't like Abby or something and the mods do the rest
fuck ResetEra
fuck GameSpot
fuck IGN
fuck them all
Angry Joe isn't the only one who got banned for life from ResetEra over their opinion on The Last of Us 2 by the way, another youtuber called SkillUp got the same treatment
fuck ResetEra

Fuck China
General | Posted 5 years agoIts rare that I make a political journal on my FA profile but every once in a while, I learn of something that I deem important enough to bring up.
the basic message of this journal is the same as the title: Fuck China and fuck the chinese government
I'm sure that many of you remember the Blitzchung controversy with Blizzard. if you don't: at the end of 2019, a Hearthstone player named Blitzchung, while interviewed, voiced his support for protests in Hong Kong against the chinese government cracking down on freedom of speech. Blitzchung was subsequently punished excessively by Blizzard who were being ordered and pressured to do so by the chinese government or else Blizzard would face repercussions instead.
now, 8 months later, these protests have essentially been squashed.
a law called "national security law" has been passed that makes it completely illegal to criticize and speak out against china or the ruling chinese communist party even within Hong Kong itself.
publicly voicing critical thoughts and opinions regarding the chinese government will now get you jailed.
the chinese law enforcement is heavily biased, corrupt and seemingly enforcement on a whim. there is no due process, there is no fair trial. the conviction rate in china has been 99.9% in 2014 and from what I was able to gather in a quick online search, that hasn't changed much in the 6 years from 2014 to now.
if you are a foreigner, even if you have a chinese pass, should you get arrested, you will almost always find yourself ending up convicted as chinese law enforcement always sides with their own against foreigners in any kind of dispute. as a foreigner in china, you have essentially no rights.
with the law making critical opinions on the chinese government illegal, even visiting china has become dangerous as simply making critical videos and publishing them on youtube in your home country could get you arrested and jailed once you set foot in china.
this is the sad reality we are now facing.
there is two videos that I would like to share with you. these are made by a pair of foreigners who had been living in china and Hong Kong for years and who were essentially forced to escape from their adopted home country to avoid getting arrested as they viewed themselves as being targeted by the chinese police:
Why I left China for Good! by serpentza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWgqdfAomVI
How I Escaped From China by laowhy86: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7CPqROtanA
to me, Freedom of Speech is one of the most important things in the world. the ability to speak your mind openly without the fear of being arrested and jailed by the government is one of the most important rights an individual can have. China does not respect that and neither do I respect china in turn.
I can only hope that other people who are still trapped within China have the means and ability to escape while its not yet to late.

Tencent is making their own Cyberpunk game... yikes...
General | Posted 5 years agoTencent, the infamous chinese company who is behind a lot of shitty things that had been going on behind the scenes including the Blitzchung-controversy, is currently making its own Cyberpunk game in competition to CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077
and boy oh boy, does it look cheap XD
I'll post a link to YongYea who is doing an analysis of the trailer below... but yeah, the game really looks very cheap. it has a lot of customization which is cool and I kinda like the cybernetic animal companions but everything else just looks lackluster and has this sense of being solely made as a quick competition to Cyberpunk 2077. a quick cash-in on the whole cyberpunk hype everyone is at the moment in anticipation of Cyberpunk 2077.
also, Tencent is infamous for its excessive micro transactions and there's a lot of people who voiced concerned about these kinda things being part of the game...
anyways, here's the trailer analysis from YongYea, enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-uPylG6-YI

Blizzard tries & fails to ban player because of his wif.....
General | Posted 5 years agoIts late on my end so I'll keep this short and link you to the video made by YongYea but long story short:
Blizzard tried unsuccessfully to ban a Hearthstone player from E-Sport events because his wife criticized the company. I wish i was kidding but I'm not. Essentially the guy's wife is a former Blizzard employee who was one of the people that got laid off when Activision-Blizzard laid off some 800 people earlier this year. she was browsing social media, saw a community manager from Blizzard post something like "think you can fit into our community? join us!" that is basically an add to hire new people. the wife was not happy with this, considering she was laid off not to long ago and rather than rehire they try to hire new people, so she responded with an annoyed and snide "are you serious right now?"
the community manager didn't take this well and essentially tried to get her husband banned... there was a statement like "your wife is a liability so I'm afraid you aren't welcome anymore if you bring her with you" or some bullshit like that. well, the player and his wife made the whole thing fairly public which had all the just backlash against Blizzard that it deserved. they have since withdrawn this statement, reinstated the player in question and in private apologized for the incident ('cause apparently the community manager in question didn't even have the power to do something like that) but in the public, they once again try to make it look as though Blizzard did nothing wrong...
man, fuck that company... fuck Blizzard...

Angry Joe response to sexual harassment allegations
General | Posted 5 years agoalright folks, an update in the Angry Joe vs Wookiemonster situation...
if you haven't read my last journal: a twitch streamer going by the alias of Wookiemonster or Queen of Feeders on social media has publicly raised allegations of sexual harassment against Angry Joe on social media and accuses him of being a predator.
her allegations are, in my honest opinion, a work of fiction. filled with inconsistency and plot holes.
in summary: the majority of it is a sob story that has this air of being overly dramatic like a work of fiction around it. her proof, the only proof she is willing to provide, is a small piece of a direct message conversation which clearly shows that she is the one who is initiating both the conversation and the flirting. Joe merely responds to it. her other proof when she claimed that "there was a witness willing to back her up" is another set of screenshots showing a DM between her and someone who's username isn't shown meaning it could be anyone. regarding her "proof": she has since edited out the screenshots showing her interaction with Angry Joe... probably due to Joe's response, more on that later... the important thing: her editing out these screenshots means that in the current form, the "proof" that clearly shows that she was the one who started the conversation and the flirting is gone from her statement.
there are reaction videos however like the following that still have the original statement including the screenshots on video so if you want to see them for yourself, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2zGC6fCuG4
anyways, back to topic:
Joe has released a public response to the allegations in which he denies all the allegations raised against him and tells his side to the story. you can read his statement here: https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sr9mev
furthermore, Angry Joe has announced that this statement will be the only public response from him personally on the subject matter, any other statements will be handled by his legal team.
Angry Joe's legal team has further issued a cease and desist letter to her to stop her from making further public allegations. she is free and very much welcome to pursue this case within the legal system, naturally, the cease and desist letter just means she can't post accusations with minimal proof on social media anymore.
now, generally I'm a "Innocent until proven guilty" kind of guy and I kept that attitude with Angry Joe. especially since the sob story she wrote to make her allegations was full of inconsistencies, very little proof and basically banked on us "simply believing her word".
I'm not quick to believe random strangers with every shit they tell me and from the looks of it, i was right.
I did a little bit of digging and found further clues hinting that this entire story is a fabricated lie and that Angry Joe is innocent and that he is the one telling the truth here.
first of all, there was this tweet in which she admits that everything was cool at the time until she decided way later that it wasn't anymore. screenshot here: https://imgur.com/rCtqw5F
then I got a screenshot of another tweet in which she confirms that she has no proof... which is especially interesting given that at the end of her original sob story, she bragged about having a lot of witnesses willing to back her up. guess that was a lie too... here's the screenshot: https://imgur.com/c6vziUv
last but not least, shortly after she got hit with the cease and desist letter and threatened with legal action if she continues to discuss this matter in the public rather than the legal system (like you're supposed to), she announced that she will "step back" from twitter: https://imgur.com/KnyoUBo
what a strange little coincidence... someone who wrote a statement raising serious allegations with very little proof to back them up in the public eye, suddenly backpedals and announces to step away from social media after they got a note from a lawyer... what a very strange coincidence indeed... almost as though the whole statement was a fabricated lie and the person making the statement realizes that if this was to go to court, they'd lose and they'd lose bad

Cancel Culture is after Angry Joe
General | Posted 5 years agoCancel Culture is rearing its ugly head again and its going after Angry Joe this time around.
someone calling herself "Queen of Feeders" is raising allegations of sexual harassment against Angry Joe.
If you want to read her story with a somewhat open mind, here is the link to do it: https://medium.com/@WookieMonsterTV.....e-d715aedb0e02
from this point onwards I will assume that you have read her story.
to that I say:
I stand with Angry Joe
I do not believe her story because of a lack of evidence as well as story holes big enough to allow a school bus to pass through...
she claims this happened during PAX East 2018 and that she was drunk for some parts of the story. yet, despite her being drunk and 2 years having passed, she had very vivid memories of the events.
this continues with her so called proof being 2 screenshots from a DM conversation with Angry Joe. provided if it even is Angry Joe, after all its quite amazing what you can do with photoshop nowadays...
regardless, whether the "proof" screenshots are real or fake, they do clearly show that our supposed victim not only initiated the conversation but she did it in a very flirtatious way. Angry Joe responded in kind and our victim kept on going.
so already this is starting fishy given that she is the one who started all this and made Angry Joe think she was interested in him.
but it continues...
Angry Joe invites her to his panel and later on to dinner. our supposed victim accepts even though she states very clearly in her story that she barely knew who Angry Joe was and that she didn't watch his content.
so she basically started flirting and coming on to a complete stranger. another red flag.
her whole story is essentially a "woe is me" sob story where she dramatizes her going with Angry Joe as he outright kidnapping her... which again, I find very hard to believe given the holes this story of hers has already.
she never once mentioned that she had a boyfriend or that she was visiting PAX East with him. she keeps on going on and on and on of how distraught she is that she has no way of contacting her boyfriend because nasty, evil Angry Joe keeps her from doing so... yet she could have at any given time, especially when Angry Joe first invited her to dinner, simply asked "can my boyfriend come too?" she didn't.
she says in her story that Angry Joe had her wait in his hotel room while he took a shower and got dressed for dinner. she claims in her story that when Angry Joe went for his shower, he said "there's room for two" in a flirtatious manner. her response? a nervous "you're funny". its not like... you know, she could have replied with "thanks but I already have a boyfriend" or anything like that. we are supposed to believe that she was to intimidated and scared to offend him.
during the dinner she says that she felt alone and helpless since she didn't dare to call for help on her phone because she didn't want to disrespect Angry Joe... which raises questions like "if she really felt so scared and uncomfortable, why not simply excuse herself to the restroom and call her boyfriend from the restroom?" its what any sane person would have done...
she cries that Angry Joe told her not to busy herself with her phone during dinner... oh geez, how terribly, its almost as if the vast majority of people consider it extremely rude when a person that got invited for dinner spends the entire time texting on their phone rather than engaging the other people in conversation...
at some point she mentions how someone from Youtube asks her for her business card to which she replies that she doesn't have business cards and a few lines later she writes that she kept on handing out business cards because that was apparently expected from her... like, how can she hand out business cards when she said that she didn't had business cards?
and it basically just keeps on going and going and going. its a right hole of "woe is poor little me" with some very detailed descriptions in some areas, very vague statements in other areas and an overly dramatization to make Angry Joe look like the spawn of satan himself.
during the whole story, she claims she was nervous, submissive and shy the whole time, a poor helpless girl at the whims of the big scary Angry Joe... yet when clicking on her profile, she has "@USMC Veteran" listed below her username. I don't think a USMC Veteran would be so helpless and just let all this happen to her. I think a real USMC Veteran would be more assertive and make her point clear early on... like tell Angry Joe that she had a boyfriend already or ask him if her boyfriend could join her, etc.
her story is full of holes with very little proof to back it up
so no
i do not believe this person
sexual harassment allegations are very serious and her word alone isn't good enough for me. we've had it happen to many times were someone made sexual harassment allegations who ended up being false. from everything I've seen, this sure smells like it could be one of those...

Korean Streamer reacts on TLOU 2
General | Posted 5 years agoThe Last of Us Part 2 is out, I gave you my thoughts and review of the game yesterday... if you didn't read it: I think the game is a nihilistic piece of misery porn garbage that isn't worth jack shit. I mean, right now we have the Covid-19 Pandemic to deal with and if you live in the US, race riots on top of that. do you guys really want to play something that makes you feel more miserable right now?
youtube is filling up with reactions on the epic and extremely negative received death of Joel scene that happens within the first 2 hours of the game. the reason for the negative reaction being that consumers and fans universally agree that the setup and execution of the scene is both and undignified and extremely out of character way to kill of Joel, a very beloved character to fans of the first, as well as perceiving this scene as a giant "fuck you" middle finger to fans of both Joel and the first game where the player spend 90% of the game playing as him.
well, another reaction to this scene has wound its way up to youtube and its gotta be one of the spiciest reaction scenes ever...
a korean streamer going by the alias 크랭크_ (tvcrank) who streamed himself playing the game was apparently a big fan of the previous game and its main character. he did not take that scene well... when Pewdiepie witnessed that scene while he streamed the game, he said the words "I don't want to play anymore"
well, tvcrank actually did just that. his displeasure at the scene, which you can see in his expression, prompted him to not bother in finishing the cutscene. he turned the game off. after he had done that, he proceeded to livestream himself destroying the game's DVD.
here's tvcrank turning off his game mid-cutscene: https://www.twitch.tv/tvcrank/clip/.....sFishShadyLulu
and here's tvcrank destroying his copy of the game: https://www.twitch.tv/tvcrank/clip/.....gpiePunchTrees
this guy... this tvcrank dude from korea... he's a fucking legend as far as I'm concerned XD
I really really really hope that Neil Druckman, the guy behind this travesty that is The Last of Us Part 2, gets to see this
in case the twitch links don't work, here's a youtube link of him destroying the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw5L_oz2ATg

The PS5 reveal event
General | Posted 5 years agoBeen a while since I made a gaming related journal so might as well make a journal about the PS5 reveal event... which was streamed on Youtube not to long ago and you can check out the livestream if you want to, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XR0hk700H_4
now, what are my thoughts on the event? all in all: it was okay.
I admit, I'm a PC gamer first and foremost. its my preferred platform to play games on and it has the bonus of... well, games tend to look better and run better on PC's. that's just a fact of life.
still, I'm a gamer, not a hardware enthusiast.
so, if a console game looks like it could be helluva lot of fun, then I have no issue whatsoever to play it on console... provided i have the console of course, lol XD
I mean, I'm currently playing Nioh 2 on my PS4 as I wait for the game's PC port to arrive just like it did with its predecessor and in about a month I will be playing Ghost of Tsushima on my PS4 and most likely wait on that game's PC port which will hopefully come and be a great convenience for me, lol.
anyways... back to the PS5 reveal event:
like i said, I'm not a hardware enthusiast. I don't care to much about the technical capabilities of a new console (especially since it lags behind what custom build PC's are capable of anyways) so instead I focus on what is most important: the games. do the games look like interest me and could be fun to play? that's what's important to me.
and well, there are indeed several games that piqued my interest and I'll be going over the games from here on out.
I'll make a summary of all the games shown during the event and I'll let you know if i find them interesting or not. first though, an important disclaimer: I don't play racing or sports games. at all. i don't like these types of games and I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. so anything that is focused around sports or racing automatically fails with me.
they showed a new Spiderman game focused around Miles Morales which, admittedly, looks pretty cool and interesting but they didn't show actual gameplay, only cutscenes so that's a bit iffy. its to early to tell if the game will be any good. so its a maybe for the future? for now its a pass due to lack of gameplay. next game.
they showed a new RatcheT & Clank with cutscens and gameplay and that looks like it could be fun. your usual Ratchet & Clank adventure with all the platforming and shooting you're used to if you played any of the old game. this one genuinely interests me. keep this one on radar.
next we have something called Project Athia from Square Enix. Well, I'm not exactly a fan of Square Enix. never really was. just couldn't get into it for one reason or another. pass, next game.
then we got Stray. the premise of the game is interesting enough, you play as a stray cat in a futuristic city populated entirely by robots with not a single human to be found anywhere. quite an interesting premise but again, the trailer didn't show any actual gameplay and was all cutscenes so its hard to tell if the game would be any good beyond its interesting premise. so I'll give this a pass. next game.
this was followed by Returnal which seems to be a sci-fi survival horror game on a distant planet. most of the trailer was cutscenes and the little gameplay shown looked very generic third person shooter to me. the horror atmosphere didn't really grip me from what I've seen so I'm giving this a pass.
next we have Sackboy. not interested in that kinda stuff at all. fuck that shit, pass. next game.
which is one of the things i mentioned at the start: a racing and vehicular combat game. like i said at the beginning: wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. pass. next game.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits. this one is weird. it looks like it could be a genuinely fun Zelda-clone or something of the sorts but there's something about the art style, how the characters and creatures look that turn me off so this one is a pass for me.
next one up: Goodbye Volcano High. I'll give this a pass and a very strong one because the trailer was crap. I mean... yes, the premise is super awesome and i love it. its set in a world populated by scalie dinosaur like anthros. how could I not fucking love that? XD but... just look at the trailer, I mean... aside from the whole "high school drama" thing which I'm not super into, the trailer is just... like... I can't tell what Goodbye Volcano High is supposed to be, judging from the trailer. Is it supposed to be a game? according to Wikipedia its supposed to be a narrative driven adventure game (not my favorite genre by the way). the trailer however makes it look like a movie or a show to be put on Netflix or whatever... like, what is this? is it a game? is it a movie? is it a show? at the end of the trailer, I couldn't tell... so yeah... super strong "thx, I'll pass" from me. next game.
Oddworld Soulstorm. somekind of sidescroller thing... i remember the old games from way back in the day and I wasn't interested in them back then and I'm not interested in them now so: I'll pass. next game.
Ghostwire Tokyo. the weeb inside me should love this thing but he doesn't. you're some kind of paranormal investigator or something like that in Tokyo and you fight ghosts and shit. at least that seems to be whats going on in the trailer. could be cool but I dunno... the monster design and the "weapons" shown in the trailer didn't quite click with me. pass, next game.
JETT: the far shore. I have no idea what the fuck this is supposed to be. they showed nothing but cutscenes set to some extremely over the top dramatic musical score like this is most important, epic shit you've ever seen. its not because you haven't shown me anything. I'm guessing that this game has something to do with space exploration or exploring a new world for humans to colonize, but again: the game didn't show anything beyond super cheesy cutscenes that tell you absolutely nothing. is it an adventure game? is it a shooter? is it a strategy game? racing? survival horror? I don't know. all i know is: apparently, it exists. it exists and I know nothing about it. extremely strong pass, next game.
Godfall. Hell yeah, now we are talking! gameplay galore in this trailer and it looks friggin sweet. some kind of cool sci-fi themed medieval action game with futuristic power armor looking like knights armor and beating the shit out of dudes with swords, axes, lances, spears, shields and who knows what else. very interested in this one, definitely keep this one on the radar.
next one up: Solar Ash. I don't like the way this game looks. its very artistic in its style but unfortunately, its not an art style that I find personally appealing. still, the gameplay looks like it could be fun. if you can get into the art style of the game, you might wanna keep an eye on this one. for me however, well... like i said: I personally don't like the art style so I have to give this one a pass for me. next one.
Hitman 3. never get into the Hitman franchise myself so already very low interest in this one and the gameplay shown didn't exactly win me over either. very strong pass on this one, next game.
Astro's Playroom. looks like a super cute and adorable little platformer. its not exactly something I'm interested in myself so I'll have to give one a pass... but it looks like it could be a very fun platformer and its very cute so... if you like platformer games, check it out. it might be something for you. for me though, its not so... sad pass. next game.
Little Devil Inside: same issue as with Solar Ash. even though the gameplay looks good, I really don't like the art style and I'm very turned off. pass, next game.
some kind of Basketball game, I think the next 2K or something... I didn't pay attention. its a basketball game, thus a sports game, thus I wouldn't touch this crap with a ten foot pole. super super strong pass, next game.
Bugsnax. super weird and super turned off by this one... just like with Sackbox: fuck that shit. pass, next game
Demon's Souls. yes you heard right, Demon's Souls. I don't know if its a remaster or a complete remake 'cause the trailer has shown stuff that wasn't in the original Demon's Souls... but its a Souls game so... obviously very interested in this one. keep this on the radar.
next one up: Deathloop. interesting premise and gameplay footage showed some good FPS action going on. I hope this is going be a singleplayer game and not some multiplayer shit due to its premise but I'm interested in this one and keep it on the radar.
next one up: Residen Evil VIII: Village. a continuation from the critical acclaimed Resident Evil VII. it showed first person gameplay with a strong horror atmosphere and everything that made the previous game the huge success that it was. interested in this one, keep it on the radar.
next one up: Pragmata. nothing but cutscenes again with this trailer. no idea what it's going to be. some type of survival horror maybe? i don't know. pass, next game.
Horizon: Forbidden West. a sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn. I liked the premise of Horizon: Zero Dawn and the world it has, this medieval/tribal futuristic post-apocalypse with machine animals, it was all really cool... but I didn't had that much fun with some of the gameplay, especially the Combat which I didn't enjoy. so because of that, I'm giving this a pass. still, if you liked the previous Horizon, you might check this one out too.
aaand... I think that's all the games they showed
this was followed by them unveiling the new PS5 and it was finally revealed how it would look and I'm... surprised. it looked like nothing I expected. they made the thing look like some kind of modern piece of art or something... the console is very stylized and artistic which does look pretty cool and distinct. I like it.
still, that leaves us with the games shown during the presentation. in total they showed trailers for 24 games and out of these, there were only 5 that were interesting to me personally: Ratched&Clank, Godfall, Demon's Souls, Deathloop and Resident Evil VIII.
still, i have to keep in mind that the goal was not to appeal to me personally, but to appeal to a very broad audience of people and showcase something for pretty much everyone... which they probably succeeded. overall the event went on well and was very well received by a lot of people so... big success for Sony there.
and hey, 5 games out of 24 is still an impressive 21%. so one fifth of the games shown cater to my personal tastes and interests in gaming and they got me interested.
I don't know if I will get a PS5 on day (probably not) or at all for that matter because... well, multiple factors: the costs for the console itself, a lack of time due to work and other RL activities... still, there's a few games that got my interest so I will most definitely keep an eye on them and whilst I do, cross my fingers that more than a few of those will get a PC port... would certainly be a huge convenience for me if i could get to play these games without having to buy a new console first that most likely would end up collecting dust for years... like my PS4 did before Nioh 2 and Ghost of Tsushima... until the release of Nioh 2 in march of this year, I hadn't played PS4 since the first Nioh got its PC port, which is over 2 years lol XD
now, what are my thoughts on the event? all in all: it was okay.

DOOM Eternal is safe to re-install and play again
General | Posted 5 years agoHello folks
Good news to all DOOM Eternal fans: The update that removes the extremely invasive, kernel based Denuvo Anti-Cheat has arrived and been implemented. DOOM Eternal is finally safe to re-install and play again.
Bethesda and Id Software listened to the backlash from the fans and that was the right thing to do.
I'm reinstalling DOOM Eternal as I'm writing this journal and I'll definitely gonna to play it a bit this weekend :-D

Pastor Tony Spell is evil incarnate
General | Posted 5 years agoPastor Tony Spell is evil incarnate. that's all I have to say about him as a human being... if you could call that piece of shit human, i have my doubts there...
if you don't know or remember who pastor Tony Spell is, super quick recap: he was the "star" of my journal from 3 weeks ago. he's a pastor in Louisiana who refused to obey government issued safety rules regarding the pandemic and held church sermons anyways even though he carried the virus. yes, you read correctly. Pastor Tony Spell carried the virus, knew he carried the virus and held church sermons anyways.
well he's back, he hasn't been locked up as he should and he made an announcement that he will "obey government issued safety rules when popsicles are sold in hell and an ice skating ring is build on the lake of fire"
he even vowed to continue to hold sermons with as many people as possible, preferably from as many parts of the US as possible. even though he carries the virus and he knows he carries the virus. even though many in his congregation are probably already carrying the virus or already sick.
this guy is actively trying to spread the virus as much as possible.
his justification for defying government rules? some random bullshit about "Not wanting to obey rules that forbid the church" or some shit like that even though pretty much every other pastor has no issues holding sermons online or outdoors at 25% capacity.
Tony Spell carries the virus. he knows he carries the virus. yet he doesn't care and tries everything he can to break safety rules, spread the virus as much as possible and endanger as many people as possible.
i have no idea what his motivations are, if he's one of the crazy deluded fanatics who think that they are doing god's work or whatever
i know one thing though
Tony Spell is evil incarnate
i can only hope that he will get what's coming to him...

New DOOM Eternal update to remove invasive anti-cheat
General | Posted 5 years agowell, if you've read my last journal you probably new that Bethesda and ID royally fucked up DOOM Eternal by forcing an extremely invasive anti-cheat on players that poses a huge security risk
well, ever since DOOM Eternal got review bombed to Oblivion and ID & Bethesda finally listened.
they released a statement in which they state that they are working on a new update to be released in a week that will remove the Denuvo anti-cheat from DOOM Eternal
I know that review bombing a game is not a nice thing to do but regardless of what your views are on the subject of review bombing, one thing cannot be argued with: review bombing works

If you have DOOM Eternal, uninstall it immediately
General | Posted 5 years agoI'm writing this journal as a public service announcement
if you have DOOM Eternal installed on your PC, uninstall the game immediately
as of today, Bethesda and ID Software have released a new Update that could potentially destroy your PC.
while the Update does a few very nice things, it has one major flaw: it comes with an anti-cheat software by Denuvon that installs a Kernel Drive on your PC.
this means that the anti-cheat program is being installed into the deepest parts of your PC. it is also running with full admin rights. its essentially spyware. while Bethesda and ID have said that the program won't do things like take screenshots or make logs of your internet history and all the juicy stuff, we consumers have nothing but their word for this and as many companies have demonstrated in the past: the word of a video game developer isn't worth a whole lot.
the issues don't end with the program being spyware though
because of the nature of the anti-cheat software (running with full admin rights with access to pretty much your entire PC), in the event that you get somehow hacked, you are essentially royally fucked beyond repair
words alone cannot express how huge of a security risk to your PC this new anti-cheat software is
while Bethesda and ID have made claims that you can "easily uninstall the program and keep playing the Singleplayer", I am sad to report that these claims are false. while you can easily enough uninstall the program, DOOM Eternal simply refuses to launch until you reinstalled it by clicking "yes" on the "install anti-cheat" prompt. I tried and this is the result.
a Singleplayer focused action game cannot be started anymore until you install an extremely invasive Multiplayer anti-cheat that is a huge security risk in the event of you getting hacked.
DOOM Eternal is currently getting review bombed and justly so
please
i beg of you
if you have DOOM Eternal installed on your PC
please, for your own safety: uninstall the game until Bethesda and ID have resolved this issue

The Culling - most insulting Monetization Scheme ever
General | Posted 5 years agoI'm coming right out and say it: I don't like Battle Royale games. at all. I'm not interested in them whatsoever. PUBG, APEX, Fortnite and all the others... there isn't a pair of tweezers long enough that would make me wanna touch them... okay, a weird expression maybe, i kinda tried to translate a popular german saying and this is the best I could come up with, sue me. at the very least you should get the idea: Battle Royale aren't interesting for me.
however they are very popular in the gaming world and just recently something happened that I want to briefly talk about.
it concerns a game called "The Culling" which was... or is as its still around, one of the very first Battle Royale games. because of that, it lacks behind in many things that made other titles like PUBG or Fortnite the successes they are today.
the developer tried to return to former glory with a sequel called The Culling 2 Origins which was so bad that it was completely taken off the internet by the developers. its impossible to buy and impossible to play. instead the devs tried to return to The Culling and make it more popular.
of course they didn't had the talent, let alone the intelligence, to actually try to improve their game with more streamlined mechanics, new features and the like but instead tried to go for the cheap and easy "free to play" model.
well, "free to play" didn't work out and now the developers of The Culling have announecd a new system which will go down in gaming history as one of the absolutely worst and stupidest ideas ever.
long story short:
the game is no longer "Free to Play". you will have to buy it. furthermore, you will also only get a single free game to play per day. any additional game you want to play after will require you to spend "Tokens" for which, you guessed it, are sold for real money
basically, The Culling is being turned into one of them Arcade machines that you have to put a quarter in for each game you play. except you have to actually buy the game first before you can start putting in quarters.
I have no idea what made the idiot developers think that this would be in any way a good idea as the entirety of the gaming community is ridiculing to oblivion and justly so
one thing is for certain
if The Culling was struggling with having people to play before, it will be even worse now

it concerns a game called "The Culling" which was... or is as its still around, one of the very first Battle Royale games. because of that, it lacks behind in many things that made other titles like PUBG or Fortnite the successes they are today.
the developer tried to return to former glory with a sequel called The Culling 2 Origins which was so bad that it was completely taken off the internet by the developers. its impossible to buy and impossible to play. instead the devs tried to return to The Culling and make it more popular.
of course they didn't had the talent, let alone the intelligence, to actually try to improve their game with more streamlined mechanics, new features and the like but instead tried to go for the cheap and easy "free to play" model.
well, "free to play" didn't work out and now the developers of The Culling have announecd a new system which will go down in gaming history as one of the absolutely worst and stupidest ideas ever.
long story short:
the game is no longer "Free to Play". you will have to buy it. furthermore, you will also only get a single free game to play per day. any additional game you want to play after will require you to spend "Tokens" for which, you guessed it, are sold for real money
basically, The Culling is being turned into one of them Arcade machines that you have to put a quarter in for each game you play. except you have to actually buy the game first before you can start putting in quarters.
I have no idea what made the idiot developers think that this would be in any way a good idea as the entirety of the gaming community is ridiculing to oblivion and justly so
one thing is for certain
if The Culling was struggling with having people to play before, it will be even worse now

Pastor knew he was sick, held sermons anyways
General | Posted 5 years agoWell, there's nothing really much more to say after the title of this particular journal.
A pastor by the name of Tony Spell from the Life Tabernacle Church in Louisiana has been arrested and booked into jail for... well, for a fuckton of things actually. the guy is a real piece of shit and I hope he gets whats coming for him. the most important reasons that lead to his arrest though are the following:
1.) he held church sermons to congregations of more than a hundred people even though he was fully aware that he was carrying the Corona virus within himself.
2.) he refused any kind of medical treatment for the virus he was carrying with himself
3.) he broke house arrest even though he carried an electronic shackle on his leg
4.) repeatedly ignoring the governmental issued safety orders that prohibit large congregations of people
so... basically the guy did a whole lot of nasty shit and willfully endangered not only himself but others as well. the guy tries justifying himself with some religious mumbo-jumbo... you know the usual spiel religious nutcases like to flaunt around in times like these. that this is a test from god, that the new rules and laws made by the government who are supposed to protect people and slow down the spread of the virus are really a sinister attack on christianity, yadda yadda yadda
shit like this is why I'm atheist...
at the very least the guy is in jail for the time being and won't be able to cause any more harm out of for his petty, selfish reasons and I really do hope that once this is all over, the guy ends up getting charged for either manslaughter or attempted manslaughter. given how many people died due to the Corona virus, i firmly believe that manslaughter/attempted manslaughter are justified charges.
but that is just my opinion.
if you want further details I recommend you check out my source: Telltale on Youtube. if you don't know him, he's an Ex-Jehova's Witness who got out and ever since has dedicated himself to arguing against cults using his Youtube channel. if you're at all interested in cults, the dangers that they pose and how they operate, I really recommend checking his channel out. its interesting stuff. here's the video on the crazy pastor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acXE-DsTZ2A&t=

GameStop Punished in Boston
General | Posted 5 years agoa few weeks ago, GameStop began to argue that their services were "essential" and what not in a blatant push to stay open and capitalize on the Corona Pandemic which drives people to stay home and play video games. In doing so, not only did GameStop defy the government, they also asked staff on site to argue with law enforcement, remain open and essentially endanger both themselves and customers. if that wasn't enough, GameStop didn't even had the decency to provide their stores with proper cleaning equipment and sanitizers. well, this display of selfish greed was now recently punished severely in Boston and as a result, GameStop had to close their locations in all of Massachusetts. good news for us, in my opinion. i can only hope that the executives who gave the order to keep their stores open and threaten their staff with firing them if they refuse, that these same executives will face more legal consequences in the near future.

Nioh 2 is Game of the Year Material
General | Posted 5 years agoFor the past few weeks I've been playing a lot of Nioh 2 on my PS 4 which i finally dusted off... buying the PS 4 version was ultimately a waste of money since, once the PC version will be released on Steam, I won't ever play the PS 4 version ever again as I prefer the PC but... well, I put 1047 hours into the first Nioh on my Steam account. I fucking love that game and there was no way that I was going to wait another 6 or 7 or however many months it will take for the PC version to be released when I can play it right now goddamnit XD
sooo... considering that I've been playing so much of it I've felt to make a quick journal summarizing my thoughts:
easily one of the best games of the year, maybe even the best (we'll see at the end of the year) and very easily game of the year material
yeah... I put in 1047 into the first game, what did you expect me to say lol? XD
long story short: if you liked the first game you will also like this one as it took everything that was fun about Nioh and improved on it. while admittedly, its not exactly a too revolutionary improvement over the first game, I would argue that it didn't need to be as the first game already was pretty goddamn awesome
if you've never played Nioh before, the game can be described as this:
its basically a mix between Dark Souls and Diablo with a Samurai theme
the game is difficult, challenging and punishing mistakes but never in an unfair manner because you, the player, are given an over abundance of tools and mechanics to compensate for it. you get a total of 9 different melee weapon types and 3 different ranged weapon types. your melee weapons are: sword, dual swords, odachi (greatsword), spear, great axe (and great hammer), dual hand axes, dual tonfas, kusarigama (a small hand sickle with an attached ball and iron chain) and switch glaives (a weapon that can transform into an axe, a spear or a scythe). your ranged weapons are: bow, rifle and hand cannon.
each of the melee weapon types can swap between 3 stances that change how you attack and what your special moves are... and yes, each weapon type has special moves, called skills, which you can unlock as you progress through the game and level your character. the stances are: strong, medium and quick. strong stance deals a lot of damage but that is offset but slow attack speeds that leave you vulnerable. medium stance strikes a perfect balance between damage dealt and attack speed. quick stance deals the least amount of damage but this is offset by a very fast attack speed. managing these 3 different stances and how to use them in the most effective way is what makes the combat in Nioh and Nioh 2 so incredibly fun and addictive.
there are no real limitations on what you can and can not do. like dark souls, there are no real classes so you can use whatever weapon type you want at any given time and swap around freely. you can have two different melee and ranged weapons equipped at the same time for a very quick change between these weapons without having to open your inventory too.
on top of all of this, there is also Jutsu abilities that you can unlock which are split into Ninjutsu (for all you Ninjas) and Onmyo Magic (for all you spellcasters). neither are mutually exclusive either so you can be a spellcasting ninja if that is what you want to do... and actually recommended given the useful buffs and other abilities that you can unlock.
Ninjutsu for example allows you to carry a number of throwing bombs with you to throw into your enemies face while Onmyo Magic gives you a spell to infuse your weapon to deal additional fire, water or lightning damage on top of the regular damage your weapon deals. while Jutsu abilities are limited in use for game balance, they replenish every time for free when praying at a shrine, Nioh's version of the Dark Souls bonfire so you have no real reason not to use either Ninjutsu or Onmyo magic. so why not just go nuts and combine the two by, say, infuse your weapon with lightning damage, throw some bombs at an enemy for some early ranged damage and then finish them off with your lightning infused weapon? works pretty damn fine
oh, and do you like loot? if the answer is yes: Nioh is for you
there is a plethora of loot for you to fight. countless different weapons for all the weapon types, a huge amount of different armor sets and many other items.
and if you're in the business of looking good: the Blacksmith (which you unlock fairly early) has the ability to change the cosmetic appearance of any weapon or armor piece you have so you can always go out and slay demons in style.
I think I will cut my journal here since this has gone long enough, I think
its not a perfect game, no game is and there are issues (for example you can't jump at all and you can't swim either) but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Nioh 2 is, plain and simple, an amazing game.

Randy Pitchford screws Borderlands 3 Devs out of Bonuses
General | Posted 5 years agoIt's a bit late on my end so I will keep this journal fairly short and get right to the point.
Long story short: CEO Randy Pitchford stiffs the developers of Borderlands 3 out of well deserved bonuses even though the game sold extremely well.
I wish I could say that I was shocked or surprised but really: I am not. I've known Randy Pitchford to be a scumbag for a while and these prejudices of mine are once again reinforced. I can say from the bottom of my heart: fuck this guy.
the fact that Randy Pitchford said in an actual meeting "if you don't like what we have to offer, get out" doesn't help much either
seriously
fuck this guy

GameStop is willfully endangering customers and employees
General | Posted 5 years agoHi guys
Got an interesting bit of news for you all
GameStop is willfully endangering customers and employees
Despite the current dangers of the pandemic that is the Corona virus, GameStop and according to one source EB Games in Canada (which is part of GameStop) are blatantly ignoring government instructions regarding closing down or gathering crowds of people.
The executives in charge released some bullshit explanation to their employees of how GameStop is somehow essential and thus needs and is justified to stay open. Worse, the executives instructed/demanded local store managers to shove this in the face of any law enforcement that asks questions in order to confuse the officers.
Whether GameStop stores should close is supposedly a "day to day discussion" and even if they close "you could get infected when you pump gas at a gas station" which is an attempt to trivialize the issue... Keep in mind that these quotes were spoken by a GameStop executive who is self isolating himself and works from home but demands his employees to go to work, mingle with customers, hold sale and launch events. All these things are increasing the risk of spreading the infection and putting countless customers and employees at risk for the sake of profit.
Greed at the expense of people's health...
Oh, and GameStop has issues supplying their stores with sanitizers so... Yeah, there's that too
Guys, buy your games with Steam, GOG, PlayStation Store or whatever else you prefer
Never ever buy from GameStop again
I haven't in years and I certainly won't ever again now
