Commission Policy
Posted 14 years agoWill I ever offer refunds to unhappy commissioners?
- When? After three attempted redo's, and not after the flat-colour stage.
- Under what circumstances? See above, and if either a, I feel that I cannot realistically fix the problem or b, the commissioner is continually unhappily. Politeness helps too.
Will you offer to make changes to the piece if the commissioner asks?
- When? At all stages, although after the lineart, minor edits only.
- How much are you willing to change? At the sketch stage, complete redo's. At the lineart, medium to minor edits. Minor edits at the flatcolour stage.
Will I finish and resell the work? Finish, yes. Resell, no. If a port sketch can be edited not to resemble a character, then it will possibly be turned into a premade.
Will I show previews of the unfinished work? Yes
- When? Sketch, lineart, then multiple colouring progress shots
- How many? Ranging from 2 to 10, depending
What kinds of alternative payment will I accept, if the commissioner doesn't have what I want? See listed.
- When will I allow this? Depends on what the offered alternative payment is.
Will I ever decline commissions from individuals even if my commissions are currently open? Yes
- Why? If I do not feel inspired by the character, or have no inspiration for the art.
What will I do if my commissioner disappears and they haven't paid?
Leave it then scrap it.
What will I do if there's an emergency and I can't finish the commission in a timely manner?
Apologise, and try to complete it.
If that's not possible, then depending on the progress, refund half.
When will I accept payment from the commissioner?
Sketches & lineart: Before starting.
Unremap ports/flat-colours: After lineart.
Full-colour: After lineart.
Anything else: After lineart.
Will I watermark the art? Yes
- On which pieces? All
- What size? One large-ish, a few discreet ones
