Wow, Major Updates!
Posted 4 years agoo_O Okay so yeah, it's been over 6 years since I last posted a journal here on FA. Yeah I'm still alive just not very active socially over here.
Where I am more active at is Twitter and Youtube because I've been pretending to be a Vtuber for a little over a year! (I'm not actually being serious, lol). Mostly just playing Beat Saber as time goes by but I've been slowly learning things like video editing (Davinci Resolve) and basic 3d stuff (Blender). Been trying to do a lot of collaborations in Beat Saber with multiple people playing a song with a cinematic camera sorta thing (one of the things I helped work on) and spliced together like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVNE9uUmA1I or figuring out Blender and mocap stuff like with https://twitter.com/sepffuzzball/st.....14487813173262
But yeah, otherwise not too much going on. Twile and I got our house built, we've had some awesome people move in and just have been surviving and living life over the past few years!

[Misc] Selling Various Tablets!
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone! I figured I'd post this up for the day, but I'm going to be putting up a few of my tablets out there for sale. I'll just toss them up on Ebay if I don't get any hits here, I just figured I'd let some furries have first dibs if they'd like! I have the original boxes for everything as well, since I know some people care about those sorts of things!
Sold!
Wacom Intuos 4 Medium (External Wacom Drawing Tablet)
A slightly older external graphics tablet. Still works well, I just find I haven't been using it, and it takes up a lot of desk space. Small enough to fit in a laptop bag with a laptop, but large enough that the drawing surface is actually usable. Great for someone that wants a semi-professional tablet for relatively cheap and is used to an external one.

Purchase Price: $299 (July 2011)
Used going Price: $150-200
Asking Price: $130 + Shipping
Asus Vivotab Note 8 64GB (8" Wacom Tablet PC) w/Wacom Bamboo Feel (Carbon Fiber and Aluminum)
A nice little companion device. Quad-core Atom that runs full Windows 8.1. Ridiculously lightweight and good for holding whilst sketching, unlike larger tablets. Has proper Wintab drivers so things like Photoshop and Sai work on it (that being said, I highly recommend Manga Studio 5 on it...it's so much more friendly when swapping from touch to stylus input, so you can pinch/zoom/pan with your fingers and draw/paint with stylus). Honestly was surprised the dang thing can run Photoshop. I wouldn't use this to replace a laptop or desktop, but if you want something to sketch or draw on while mobile (at cons, in a class, etc.) I can easily recommend this. I also have a nice stylus to go with it (it comes with a small one that slots inside, but I wanted something heftier).
Picture
Purchase Price: $379 (Tablet March 2014) + $79 (Stylus March 2014)
Used going Price: $300-330 (Tablet) + $50-60 (Stylus)
Asking Price: $300 + Shipping for both
Asus/Google Nexus 7 2014 32GB LTE (7" Android Tablet) w/Asus PW100 Wireless Charging Stand
Another nice little tablet...this one is a bit more uncommon since it does have LTE (works fine on T-Mobile and AT&T...supposedly Verizon, but they've always been special) which makes it a little more expensive than others. If you need a nice little companion device while on the go, this works quite well (I mostly used it for in-car GPS and the occasional game). I also have the official charger that it comes with.

Purchase Price: $349 (Tablet Sept 2013) + $89 (Wireless Charger Feb 2014)
Used going Price: $220-250 (Tablet) + $50-60 (Wireless Charger)
Asking Price: $220 + Shipping for both

[Misc] Life Updates
Posted 11 years agoHey Everyone!
I know I've been kind've absent, short, and not super talkative lately...life has just kept me busy!
'Bout a month ago I started a new job (actually, I just went back to a company I had worked for previously)...more money, more responsibility, more stress. I seem to keep up with the stressful jobs...it grates on me sometimes, however I can't complain too much as I've got a pretty decent job all things considered! Plus, companies keep coming to -me- to go work for them so it makes me feel pretty excellent about the job that I do!
That being said, work is extremely mentally draining so all I want to do when I get home is relax.
Also, we've been back to pursuing the whole purchasing a house thing...we've put a down payment on a new build and have 'conditional' approval (whatever the fuck that means...they're probably cranky about me recently having changed jobs I bet) on it...so if all the mortgage paperwork and such comes through we should have a house by the end of the year!
The house has already been stressful though in just trying to pick out materials and flooring and the like.
I know we've tried to say we'll be more social this year...and I think we have, but it's gonna be a bit difficult for a few months at least as the house stuff ramps up.
I bought an Asus Vivotab Note 8 recently and have done a few sketches...I'm hoping that I'll be able to relax a bit and maybe draw again...we'll see how that goes!
Anyway, that's it, just been trying to stay sane!

[Furry] FWA 2014!
Posted 11 years ago
twile and myself will be there! Driving up on Wednesday evening, though I fully expect to not be coherent that night.We'll be most likely leaving on Sunday evening. All of our plans are still somewhat tentative on this one, as my favorite place to eat in Atlanta closed down recently. ;o;
Current plans so far otherwise, is I'm thinking we'll hold our Fuzzball Enterprises (Furry Star Citizen guild) Meet and Greet on Friday at around 4 or so...nothing quite as formal as we had at FC, but for guild members who want to meet up and say hi (or just those interested in Star Citizen that have questions about the game or interested in joining our guild) I figured it would be fun. If we get enough people, we may even hold a raffle! Everyone loves raffles! Okay, well, maybe only the winners of said raffles love raffles.
Saturday evening I'm thinking we're going to try for the Marietta Diner, for those interested in caravaning out that way (no guarantees on car space yet as we're not sure who is going). The goal on that one is to leave early-ish so we can be back in time for the Fursuit competition.
Anyway, who else out there is going? =3~
[Furry] FC 2014!
Posted 12 years agoI will be there! We've got one of those Junior Suite thingies, and will be arriving on Thursday.
Anybody out there going that wants to potentially meet up? =3~

[Misc] Travel, Car, and General Updates
Posted 12 years agoHey Everybody!
I guess it's been a fair while since I last wrote a decent journal up here. Life has been pretty busy in general with work and attempting to find the time occasionally to have a personal life. It's been a pretty crazy year, and next year is looking to be just as busy!
Right now I'm actually in a hotel room in San Antonio, Texas (I've been here for a few days) doing some software systems support (for stuff that I wrote and deployed earlier this week). We won't talk about how much I've been working lately, but suffice to say it's been a lot! On the plus side, things have been going smoothly with the rollout *knocks on wood* so hopefully it stays that way.
Next week I'll be in Williamsburg, Virginia and then the week after that is San Diego, California. Afterwards I'll be in various places around Florida for two weeks, and then up to Pennsylvania for a week. After that, it's Thanksgiving with various people visiting.
In any case, it's been pretty busy! Had a birthday a week ago which just so happened to coincide with a Mercedes SLK-Class car meet that we did out at the Cape. I'm so glad
twile puts up with me, he's such a trooper. He doesn't care about cars at all so I'm sure it's not the most fun time for him, but I certainly had a good time. There's a video below if someone wants to listen/see what my car can be like when under heavy throttle. Definitely watch in 720p/1080p with some decent headphones or speakers though! Also, some pictures below it since it's difficult to tell that there was some fair amounts of rubber-smoke (don't breathe this!) generated.

On the tech front, I've still been wearing Google Glass most everywhere. It's quite often that I get comments on it (sometimes it's annoying, but most of the time I don't mind giving the occasional tech demo). I'd say 95% of people that ask about it seem truly interested/stoked, and the few people I've let try it out have generally thought it was pretty fantastic. I still haven't gotten around to programming for it since life has been a bit busy lately. Navigation is still the killer feature for me, it's just so convenient! I'll admit that occasionally I don't use it on Glass just for fear of battery issues (I get through a whole day with no problems normally, it's just when traveling and using Navigation that it doesn't last long enough). At least doing it that way and not on the phone, the phone has no problems...hell, most of the time when I put my HTC One on the charger at night it's usually > 45% remaining!
Waiting on a new laptop since my poor Vaio Z took a bad spill a couple months ago and there are large amounts of dead pixels on the screen. Have a Samsung Ativ 9 Book Plus (seriously, WTF is up with that name Samsung?) on order (i7/8GB/256GB SSD) with a 3200x1800 pixel 13" display...had to one up the Vaio Z's 1080p 13" display! Can't wait, hope that it gets delivered soon (supposed to be November).
Otherwise, on the life front I've been trying my hand at cooking a lot more. I'd say I cook at least 6 times a week, and have been trying to get better at it. I haven't killed Twile yet so I must not be terrible at it. x3
Anyway, I need to go get ready to head out to the site. Hope Everyone else is doin' okay! <3

exlof!!!! F5![Star Citizen] Go Pledge, and Guild Signups!
Posted 12 years agoSo, for those of you that like space games, I highly recommend that you check out Star Citizen if you haven't done so! The embedded video is done in-engine, and looks absolutely fantastic. For a game not slated to come out until near the end of next year it already has a fantastic amount of polish. If you're interested, I'd highly recommend getting at least a basic pledge package on there that nets you Alpha and Beta access...if you do it before Midnight tomorrow (Pacific), you'll even get Lifetime Insurance on any ships that you pledge for between now and November this year. It's not a requirement as all ships can be purchased in-game and you can purchase insurance on your vessels, but it seems like a nice perk for early backers.
twile and I have decided that we're going to be starting up a guild called Fuzzball Enterprises and are now taking applications! Please excuse our website, it hasn't actually been themed yet, nor does it have all of the functionality...but at the very least you can sign up, show off (and name) the ships that you've pledged for, and check out what everyone else is going to be flying! Twile has been hard at work on it over the past week and a half (okay, it didn't exist past a week and a half ago, hence why it's still got a lot of functionality missing, but we'll get there). We're still building out the concepts that we want, but feel free to comment on blog posts or start discussions!Eventually there will be applications for various Divisions inside of Fuzzball Enterprises that you can sign up for, and each division has its very own rank structure (you will be able to tie multiple characters to your user account if you'd like to keep them separate, or have one character spanning multiple divisions if you'd like). The branches that we have currently are below:
[FTC] Fuzzball Trade Consortium (commerce and manufacturing)
[FES] Fuzzball Escort Services (escort and mercenary work)
[FEC] Fuzzball Expedition Charter (exploration and resourcing)
Would you like to know more? Check out RSI's site as well as our quick overview page (http://sc.fuzzball.me/star-citizen) and then sign up!
[Google Glass] Week 1 Mini Review
Posted 12 years agoWeek One with Glass
So, just over one week ago,
twile and I flew up to New York and I received my Google Glass unit over in Chelsea Market.
I wanted to give it at least a week before giving out my initial impressions on the device to hopefully curb the “new toy” bias, as well as soften the blow of spending > $2000 between the unit itself and travel costs.
As such, in order to attempt to use it as much as possible, I decided that it would be best to just go “all in” as it were…it really seems like that’s at least the way it’s meant to be used. So I’ve tried to wear it as much as possible (though of course I’ve tried to be considerate…I take the unit off prior to going to the bathroom, and I don’t recall any other places in which it would be deemed inappropriate to wear such a device that could make someone uncomfortable). I’ve worn it at work, at home (providing it doesn’t need charging), out grocery shopping, and when going out to lunch.
Ideally I will continue to give weekly impressions, to see if/how my thoughts adjust over time. To see how new updates and sideloaded software change how I use the device, and to see how my usage develops.
In any case, I would consider any updates over the next month to be nothing more than mini-reviews on what I consider to be a completely prototype product. This is not a consumer-level device (yet), and I’m sure the final shipping version will have vastly different hardware internals and potentially even basic design (not to mention the software is going to change quite often over the next few months). In no way are these ramblings meant to truly review it for all…as with many technology devices, the use case can be completely different from one person to the next.
So before we get any further…for those that don’t wish to read a small text wall…what are my initial thoughts?
It’s pretty darn cool, and actually manages to be useful occasionally, whilst simultaneously making you look somewhat like a dork!
But guess what? I’m married, and…albeit I won’t say I don’t care about my image, I work in IT and it’s somewhat expected of me to look and act like a dork. I’m not trying to impress someone with my fashion sense or anything, but at least it doesn’t look terrible.
At work, so far I’ve been called Borg, Terminator, and Robocop (all in good fun of course), and I definitely don’t mind those small nicknames. It also seems to be the least useful when I’m at work…but of course that’s partially due to my paws always resting on a keyboard of some sorts (let’s face it, mechanical keyboard input is going to be much more private than talking to a device strapped to my face) and actually attempting to work.
However, during lunchtime it’s suddenly infinitely more useful, especially if attempting to go someplace that I’ve never been to…because if there’s one absolutely fantastic feature, it would be the Navigation feature. Yes, it’s really no different than what you get on an Android smartphone, however not having to look at a center console when driving (or looking down when biking or walking) is really, really nice.
Also, it’s finally easy to be able to snap a quick picture or video while driving. I’ve always been the type to try my best not to fumble around with my smartphone while driving (yes, I do use it for my music but I at least have the phone mounted just in my lower peripheral vision, and I don’t have to take my eyes off the road to just swipe to a new song) so to be able to just quickly glance and snap a picture just by uttering a phrase quickly and naturally…it’s nice!
Hardware-wise, I’ll admit I’m still a bit awkward with it. I’m not used to wearing glasses (other than sunglasses) so it’s taken a bit of time to get adjusted…but I’m definitely used to it now. Long periods of time (like when staring at a computer monitor at work) I hardly notice it…until it vibrates against my head to let me know I have a semi-important message to look at.
The lenses that attach to it have definitely proven to be useful as well. The sunglasses attachment is of course useful when outside, and I’ve been actually using the clear lenses when inside a fair bit as well (I do wish I had them on yesterday when I was prepping produce…jalapeno juice to the eye wasn’t the best thing ever). I do wish there were of course a few other styles for both (as I prefer lenses to not be quite so tall…though at least they aren’t aviators!), and albeit I’ve become adept at attaching and removing, it’s somewhat annoying in that I have to take off the unit completely to snap a different lens on…I probably would prefer magnetic attachments (or if I could get transitions from clear to sunglasses!).
As far as what other people are saying…of course the work users completely range between “that’s awesome, can I try?” and “dude, you do know you can’t sell that thing, right?” All work people have liked their quick little tours (for some of the non-technical customers I have, their mind was blown with walking directions and the built in sensors that show actual direction changes).
As for what strangers say outside of work? Well, I will say whenever I’m at a restaurant or any type of food place (especially when at lunch) I get people asking about it. So far I’d say about 40% of the strangers that ask actually know what it is and are legitimately excited (they are the ones that suddenly fire off questions asking as to features and how I’m liking it…they’re enthusiasm is actually quite infectious and nice), and half of the people that ask have absolutely no clue what it is (and the majority of them after a quick explanation also seem quite interested and ask about things like price and release dates). So far I’ve only had one person (a coworker no less) that was most unimpressed, however it was mostly due to the cost (in general he’s never cared for the gratuitousness of technology and money that I spend on things that aren’t necessities, to which I say…that’s what you get for having kids! Jokingly, of course).
Anyway, my initial take on this is, it’s pretty cool so far and I will continue to use it. I was planning on tinkering around with it today, however another project is likely to take precedence so I may need to hold that off until next weekend.
Would I recommend it to the average user, or even the slightly above-average technical user? I won’t answer that yet since I don’t think it’s quite fair. It’s a prototype unit, and who knows what capabilities it will have in 3 or 4 months? I fully expect to recommend the end product…at least to those that think it would be cool!
Well, that’s enough of a ‘quick’ weekly review for me…stay tuned for more updates regarding this from me!

Uhhh...another year, another anniversary?
Posted 14 years agoWow...it really has been a year since I updated my journal. I'm such a slacker!
Anyway, this marks the second year that I've been engaged to
twile and it's been great! I love him so much! He is much too good to me on a daily basis. Even if I do get cranky sometimes, that's just because I'm a cranky bitch! n_n Maybe one day we'll actually get married...this is me...glaring at you Florida...seriously yo!
On another note...hope you guys are all doing fun stuff today for the 4th! I'm concerned I won't be able to do too much since I'm still technically on-call for work (booooo) and that makes me paranoid and on-edge.
Well, I'll try not to just leave my journal empty for another year, but I make no promises! Life is so busy!

Happy Anniversary and Independence Day

Twile <3

It will have been a year tonight, during the Independence Day fireworks show when our first engagement anniversary will take place.
Thank you, my love, for sticking with me. I know I'm not perfect (BORG!), nor am I completely logical (Vulcan...), or the most grammatically correct being on the planet, but I'm happy that you continue to call me your Mate/Fiance/Folf/Whatever.
I love you, and there's not too much more I can say than that, other than I hope you at least find our intertwined life to be at least somewhat acceptable.
I love you, so don't kill me when I pounce you awake this morning. n_n

Happy faggotry day~

As well as my birthday, I am 23 as of today.

Anthrocon
Posted 17 years agoYes, I am attending Anthrocon. Not that y'all care or anything. =P
I'm in room 2205. If you're attending, and want to text me and such, just drop me a message or send a note with your phone number or something of that sort.
I generally am in the Zoo, or once the Dealers Den/Artists Alley is open, I'll spend quite a bit of time in there. Buying stuff, of course, not drawing.
Anyway, even if you're not going, I hope you still have a good weekend!
We'll have fun in your spirit =3
