Art Status (Medical Stuff)
General | Posted 6 years agoHello all, hope you're doing well, and have a great Christmas!
Some of you already know this, but since a fair few people have asked me lately if and when I'll get back into drawing, unfortunately I'm having some health problems that mostly prevent that.
The first issue is an old injury to my right hand, one from almost two decades ago. A glass broke while I was washing it, and it severed the tendon of my index finger at the knuckle. I had to have surgery to repair the tendon, but the flexibility in that finger never went back to 100%. As the years have gone by, this finger has become progressively stiffer. When holding a pencil, I end up squeezing it really tightly with that finger without really being aware that I'm doing it, until my hand starts to ache. Writing is hard enough, drawing is tougher still, have to keep resting my hand.
Then the second issue - in January of this year I suffered a retinal occlusion in my right eye - the vein that takes blood out of the eyeball had become blocked, causing blood to pool on the retina and fluid to accumulate behind it. I have had all sorts of tests, but they have no idea why it happened. I'm having monthly injections to try to mitigate the problem (drain the fluid, clear the vision a little), that is still ongoing. Needless to say, this causes problems when drawing too, things like double vision when something is too close, pain while focusing for a while after the injections, etc. The hope is that the drugs can remove all the fluid and get it to a point where no more gathers behind the retina, and if they can get it to that point then I will be happy (full vision will never be restored, the retina is damaged). So I have my fingers crossed there.
Ultimately though both conditions are incurable so the best I can do is hope they don't get worse.
Thanks for reading, hope you'll all have the best of health.

Nintendo Switch

Would anyone be interested in a YCH?
General | Posted 11 years agoSo...it basically took someone asking me if I did requests, despite me not submitting art of my own for three and a half years, to realise that I hadn't submitted any art of my own for three and a half years, and I want to do something about that.
Anyone interested in a YCH commission? If anyone is not familiar with a 'Your Character Here' picture, it means I roughly draw a pose and the scenario, and you pay me to put your character into it. Choosing the character is usually your only input, but I can offer a few customisation options.
The idea I had was something along the lines of this -> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1388343/
Everyone participating gets sat alongside each other in a long set of stocks.
I was thinking $15 USD a spot. It will be inked and coloured, just like the example.
Anyone interested? (I am NOT taking spots right now, only guaging interest).
Any thoughts? Ideas on customisation options? I have a few already, willing to hear what you have to say though.

General | Posted 12 years agoHeya, if anyone wants to join me on AC: New Leaf and doesn't already have my 3DS code, my FC is TheSKAN, 4167-4481-7405, leave yours below so I can add you. My AC town is called SKANtown, run by Ray.
PS Vita
General | Posted 14 years agoSo...I have a PS Vita. Apparantly I can add people as friends on it. I'm not sure if it can communicate properly with someone on a PS3, but if anyone wants me to add their PSN name as a friend on it, you could note me with whatever details I need and I'll reply back with whatever is needed from mine.
Nintendo Letter Box / Swapnote
General | Posted 14 years agoNow Nintendo has launched a messaging system of sorts for the 3DS, anyone interested in exchanging 3DS friend codes? I have some of you already, if anyone wants to, you could reply here with your friend code, or note me, either way is fine.
My code is TheSKAN - 4167-4481-7405

Bereavement
General | Posted 14 years agoHad some sad news earlier. My aunt (on my mother's side) died this afternoon. It is nothing unexpected, she had been terminally ill for over two years, and as I've mentioned to a few people already, had been in hospital all last week, with doctors reckoning that this was it.
Thanks to everyone who was there for me on AIM over the week, it's very much appreciated ^_^

Friend codes
General | Posted 15 years agoIf anyone wants to add my friend code for Pokemon or 3DS, here are my codes. Reply with yours if you want me to add you.
Pokemon White - TheSKAN - 3439-2266-6971
3DS code - TheSKAN - 4167-4481-7405 - note, this is for 3DS users only, for the inbuilt Friend system, it is not a friend code from a game.

Sketch commissions *open*
General | Posted 15 years agoOk, opening sketch conditions on a limited basis for this week.
Here's how it works;
First, note me with your idea. If I accept it, I'll note you back, and we can discuss further details if necessary. When I'm finished with that one, I'll look the list over and pick a new one.
That means I might not necessarily reply to your note, only if and when I accept it. I'm not planning for this to be anything long term, so will be accepting the ones I know I can do fast.
So just to be clear, this is not necessarily first come first served, nor are there any guaranteed slots. Just shoot me some ideas and I'll see what I can do.
I am offering sketched and pencil shaded artwork only, as can be seen in my Stock Exchange series of pics. Prices are $10US for one character, and $15 for two characters, which is the maximum. Background and props/devices included in that price, no extra cost unless it's overly complex.
- No mature art (sexual themes, excessive gore, etc)
- Tickling, bondage and furry pictures are especially welcome, this artist loves them.
- No human characters, sorry.
- I take Paypal only at the moment.
Thanks in advance.

Sketch commissions?
General | Posted 15 years agoI have next week booked off work. I might tentatively open a few sketch commissions, they'd be the kind of thing I did for my stock exchange pics, simple pencil sketches with a bit of rough shading. Usual rules apply - bondage, tickles, etc.
Anyone (again, tentatively) interested? What kind of prices should I be asking for?

Stock Exchange Trades
General | Posted 17 years agoAnyone interested in a stock exchange art trade? Basically we each pick a character for the other person to draw in stocks. I'm running the same exchange on DA so just seeing if anyone's interested now, and we can make it official when my schedule is clearer.
I'm offering pencil sketches only at the moment, and for one character.

Trades and commissions
General | Posted 17 years agoLooking to get back to speed on trades and commissions.
Anyone up for either?
Art Trades
- Sorry, only interested in art trades with people I haven't done one with before.
Commissions
Commission rules.
- No mature art (sexual themes, excessive gore, etc)
- The completed art remains my intellectual property, and will be displayed on DA.
- Tickling, bondage and furry pictures are especially welcome, this artist loves them.
- Yes, human characters are now accepted, but only original creations, not ones from TV etc.
- I take Paypal only at the moment, you can pay in $US or £UK, I don't mind.
- The prices are for a finished piece of digital artwork only, emailed to you in highest quality.
A portrait pic costs $10. For this, you get a single character in your choice of pose, with a basic background. Yeah, I can put your character in some bondage with this one, stocks, chains etc. Sorry, no tickly options here, you'll have to use the base picture option for that, but you get more to work with regarding a background. "Fox in Stocks" is an example of a portrait pic, but it'd be digitally inked and coloured too.
Base commission cost - $20 USD, for which you get;
A digitally inked and coloured piece of artwork, emailed to your email account at highest quality.
The picture may contain up to two characters, several objects in the foreground, and with a proper background. Additional characters cost $5 extra up to a maximum of four in total. Very complex backgrounds will be considered at my discretion.
Any takers?
