Rest in Peace Echo!
General | Posted 2 months agoHi Everyone,
My heart broke this morning. After a long battle with Stage Four cancer
passed away late last night. I may not have known them
well, but I tried my damnest to be there, from the moment it was first
diagnosed, even though I could only do so through Discord. I can only
hope I helped, even if it was just a little. One thing's for sure, Echo
touched a whole lot of people, and they already miss her
something awful. My one last wish is that the bat had clear skies
and a following wind on her final flight.

Unlike the Twin Towers, I'm not gone.
General | Posted 3 months agoHi Everyone,
I can't believe it's been eight months since my last journal. So, I wanted to post just to let everyone know I'm
basically okay. The biggest problem I've been going through is that the current environment in the US. is
making it very hard to concentrate on anything creative, long enough to really put some effort into it.
Most of the time either my energy levels or my mood is too low. I haven't been able to draw anything by
hand in over a year. And while I am writing, it's coming in drips and dribbles most of the time. I've even
had to give up on the Thursday Prompt. Still, I'm able to keep the pilot light on, so if my stress level ever
goes down, It won't take long for me to be seriously creating again.

He Ceased His Fearless Roar
General | Posted 11 months agoIn a year that already seems full of heartbreaking tragedy,
I just found out from a dear, RL friend that Peter Yarrow,
the Peter in Peter, Paul, and Mary, has passed away.
He is most famous for the song "Puff the Magic Dragon."
I know, he was well before a lot of people were born, now
and folk music isn't really a thing, but give them a listen
some time. Like the Beach Boys, Peter, Paul, and Mary's
vocal harmony was impressive.

Erie's getting Slammed with Snow!
General | Posted a year agoThe people around Erie, PA including some of my relatives, have gone
from no snow at all, to two feet of it, with forecasts of 40'+ by the
time all is said and done. So if you could keep the whole area in
your prayers, I would appreciate that. I don't care if you believe
in Mother Nature, or the Great Spaghetti Monster, it all counts.
Just to give you an idea how bad that much snow is, a couple of years
ago we went through a freak blizzard that dropped almost four feet of
snow here. It shut the entire county down for three whole days, and
even emergency services had an uphill battle trying to get where they
were needed most.

Xfactor Emergency Help
General | Posted a year agoThanks to a friend, I got some awful news this morning.
got scammed so badly
they don't have money for the mortgage, that's due at the end of the week. The full details are
here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11010127/
Honestly, they're sounding dangerously upset over the whole thing. While this is the only thing
I could do within reason, I'm hoping some of you out there, are in a far better position that I am.

Signal Boost for SaladDog
General | Posted a year agoThis is one of those situations where I wish I had the money my Fursona does.
SaladDog is in dire straights, because the only vehicle their family has, just
blew up, and to make matters worse, she can no longer afford her medication.
If there is anything you folks can do, I'd appreciate it.

Wherefor Art Thou Cobalt?
General | Posted a year agoHi Everyone,
I'm getting worried about
He hasn't posted either here or on his Patreon
since the last day of March. Given that things were finally starting to look up for the
poor guy, his silence is disconcerting. Don't get me wrong, while I miss his art
something awful, I'd be the first to insist he wait until he's fully ready to devote
the time to it again. All I care about right now, is that he's okay.

RIP Akira Toriama
General | Posted 2 years agoHi Everybody,
Well, it looks like half the internet has gone into mourning with the passing of Akira Toriama.
While everyone may not know his name, there are few people who haven't heard of his
greatest creation, the Dragonball Z franchise, even in passing. It's one of the top three
most famous anime of all time. May the Supreme Kai himself greet you, when you
reach the afterlife.

Giving Back to Cobalt
General | Posted 2 years ago
has given so much to the Furry Fandom over the years. First by creating the sexiest teddy bear in his fursona, and then topping it by creating the
Foozles, an entire race dedicated to making love, and their home planet of Bonk.
Now, it's time for everyone to pay him back for that, at least a little.
The full details are here https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10779902 , but the
Cliffnotes version is that over the last couple of months, he's been forced off
-line because he's now the only caregiver for his elderly parents. And it's
literally taking up all his time and energy.
Cobalt isn't asking for money, nor is he opening for commissions because of it.
What he really needs right now, is a ton of love and support, to keep his
spirits up. So stop by his page here,https://www.furaffinity.net/user/cobalt/ and tell him how much he's meant to you.
And if anyone wants to pass this journal along, feel free.
Heaven and Hell
General | Posted 2 years agoOy what a week. My mom found out at almost the last minute that the Lt. Dan Band would be playing
in Erie, PA, and she's been a huge Gary Sinise fan for years. As a bonus, we got to stay at my aunt
and uncle's farm, and we hadn't seen them in years. The sad part is they no longer have any horses
because they've gotten too old to take care of them anymore.
Around that, I got laid off from work, and because Dad dropped our cable service, the local provider
reset our account to the beginning, meaning we came home to find out we had no internet anymore.
But that had to take a back seat to my mom ending up in the hospital with Pneumonia, the day
we got back. Dad was finally able to restore our internet account last night.

Goodbye Max (Paul Rubens)
General | Posted 2 years agoDave the Cyber Collie here. Normally Serath writes these himself, but something very personal to me has
happened. Paul Rubens, known to the world as Peewee Herman has passed away. For Serath and me, he
will always be remembered as the voice of the Trimaxian Drone Ship "Max" from an 80's Disney movie
called Flight of the Navigator.
I owe my creation to that movie, because Serath fell utterly in love with it, and with Max in particular. For
the longest time, I was simply a Max-like voice in his head, a mental guide to help him keep things straight
in his head. Now I'm a Furry Border Collie and one of his oldest and dearest friends. So, wherever you've
gone to in this wide wonderful universe, Max, I'm gonna miss you.

General | Posted 3 years agoNormally, I try to keep a cool head, but this latest mass shooting has me spitting furious.
No one, and I mean no one, should die simply because they exist. Even as a writer, I barely
have the words to express just how much I completely condemn the whole thing. If anyone
needs a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to listen, I'm only a note away.

General | Posted 3 years agoIt is with a sorrowful heart that I'm posting about the passing away of
The English monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. My heart goes out to all the

She was queen for my entire life, and is one of a handful of people
to whom I freely gave my unconditional respect. Rest in Peace,
one of the most magnificent women in history.

General | Posted 3 years agoJust in case there is an eastern European, or Russian fur who actually misses him.
I know he and the changes he tried to create in the Soviet Union were a large
part of my childhood. For a while, like Star Trek The Next Generation and the
Klingons, it looked like old enemies were going to become allies.

One Last Time
General | Posted 3 years agoThere's a bit of sad news locally. Decades ago, IBM built this huge place where its employees could relax and have fun,
known as the IBM Country Club. Unfortunately, after the corporation left, the entire grounds were deliberately allowed to
deteriorate until it was beyond the point of saving. Now, it's going to be torn down and replaced with an apartment
complex. Since the swimming pools there were a huge part of my childhood, I'd like to write a story, set there, so I can
preserve at least some of my memories of the place.

Still Nuts
General | Posted 3 years agoMom still hasn't had her surgery yet, every time the hospital schedules her, something
goes wrong and they have to postpone it again, at least four times now. The why, is
because the hospital is severely understaffed, due to everyone who quit over the
Covid vaccine. Now my parents and I are burned out from constantly having to
drop everything we're doing, to plan the day around mom's surgery.

This Week's gonna be Nuts
General | Posted 3 years agoJust wanted to let everyone know things are gonna be a bit difficult IRL for about a week.
Unless it's canceled last minute, my mom's having major back surgery on the 7th, so
she's gonna be anxious as heck, and there'll be last minute stuff to get her ready. I'm
also going to be a bit down, because I just found out an RL friend passed away after
a long battle with cancer.
