This Week's gonna be Nuts
General | Posted 3 years agoJust wanted to let everyone know things are gonna be a bit difficult IRL for about a week.
Unless it's canceled last minute, my mom's having major back surgery on the 7th, so
she's gonna be anxious as heck, and there'll be last minute stuff to get her ready. I'm
also going to be a bit down, because I just found out an RL friend passed away after
a long battle with cancer.

Adoptable Hunks Needed
General | Posted 3 years agoIf anyone can link me to a good stallion or male skunk adoptable, I'd appreciate it.
I have a pair of hunks belonging to the Hot Rods Male review, who have gone
without a visual reference for way too long. And I'd like to fix that. I've tried
searching the site myself, but all it will show me are auctions that are sold or
years old.

The Mouse is Back!
General | Posted 3 years agoI got knocked off-line for two days, by six-inches of wet snow that fell Monday night into Tuesday,
that rivaled an ice storm for knocking out power danged near everywhere. In fact, the reports of
wires down, came so thick and fast that the power company nearly lost it's mind. My family was
one of the lucky ones, our electricity only went out briefly, twice. Even now, two days later, there
are still thousands of people still in the dark, some of whom won't get it back till Saturday at the
earliest.

Levon Starbird's Back
General | Posted 4 years agoLast Thursday's Prompt, gave me the perfect excuse to bring back Jimmy Lee Starbird's
bastard brother Levon. In my version of Jimmy Lee's life, he's been something of a
bogeyman, the one person Jimmy truly fears. And I've been wanting to write a story
where we find out exactly why. It's all laid out in my head, it just seems like RL is trying
to throw everything it possibly can at me, to make it impossible to write it down. I'm
still gonna try.

RIP Wally Duperon
General | Posted 4 years agoI only just found out myself. Fans of the Canadian Heavy Rescue show Highway Thru Hell
were saddened by the death of Walter, "Wally" Dupreon, father of Ken Duperon, owner of
Mission Towing. Seventy years ago, Wally started out with a single tow-truck, and built it
into one of the most famous Towing services in British Colombia. Anyone with that kind
of guts, determination, and sheer grit, deserves to me memorialized.

The $60,000 Answer
General | Posted 4 years agoThere's a question about my fursona Chris' life that I've never been able to answer.
Way back when I first started created a backstory for him, I'd always assumed he
was living with his Guardian, David the Cyber Collie, for most of it. Then I came
up with both the Guide Dog Halfway House, and Chris moving in with Jimmy Lee.
It created a gap where I wasn't sure where Chris was living, since Goldie was the
only one Chris would ever leave Dave's house for. Plus I wanted Chris to commute
to college, like I did IRL. The answer turned out to be simple. He moved from
the Halfway House, to off campus housing. It comes in handy, because I can
homage some of the very first friends I had on the net, and the RP group they
tried hard to maintain.

Happy Birthday to Me
General | Posted 4 years agoI'm deliberately celebrating my birthday a day late because I was too sick
to come on, yesterday. The fun thing is that forty-six trips around the
sun finds me with no real plans for my future. I figured by now, I'd
have a home of my own, and be raising a couple of kids. But I choose
Robert Frost's Path Less Taken, and I can only hope it's all leading up to
something. And that's what keeps giving me hope.

Scraps Sketch Dump
General | Posted 4 years agoMost of the reason I haven't posted new art in a while is because most of my ideas
never make it beyond the doodle or sketch stage. I haven't been able to create an
inking-worthy, full-blown sketch in a long time. So what I'm going to do, is post
some of these to my scraps, just to give my watchers an idea of what I've
been up to.

I Didn't Drown!
General | Posted 4 years agoWell the good news is, my family and I are high and dry. We actually ended up in a rain-free hole
for most of the day, so we only got an inch and change, though last night as I was coming home
from work, it started raining pretty hard. North and west of us, weren't so lucky, there's at least
one village that had to be completely evacuated.

Bulding an Ark
General | Posted 4 years agoI'm a little worried about the weather in the next few days.
We're supposed to get a lot of rain, including the remains
of one, possibly two hurricanes. And the ground is still
pretty saturated from July, the 3rd wettest month on record
the last thing I want is a repeat of the devastating
floods of '06 and '11.

Rest in Peace, Little One
General | Posted 4 years agoI just dug a tiny, little grave, for a tiny, little mouse pup
my dad and I found in the seat of our lawn tractor.
Poor pinkie never even got a chance to open it's eyes.
Goodbye John, I'll always think of you.

4th of July Lateness
General | Posted 4 years agoDue to a family emergency that took up most of the week,
anything 4th of July themed I was going to sketch out, is
going to be delayed. Mom was in the hospital with
pneumonia again, though she's now home safe and
recovering. At least this time, she finally found out
why she keeps getting it, and came home with a plan
of action.

Question on Fan-Art vs OC
General | Posted 4 years agoWell, it's official. I couldn't mimic
's art stye if I wanted to. At least not without a ton of
practice that I don't feel up to right now. Her drawing style and mine are just too different. The character
I wanted to do fan art of, would come out so off-model as to be unrecognizable. I do like the char I came
up with in making the attempt. Though to be honest, I'm not sure where the line between fan art and
original character would be in this case. I'd have no problem in adding an "inspired by" note to her, if
it came to that.

Signal Boost: Iron Potato Needs Help Badly
General | Posted 4 years agoI apologize for not posting a signal boost for him earlier in the week, my brain is in for servicing.
Iron Potato, the current artist for the webcomic Cats & Cameras is in bad shape, after a family
member died of the Corona Virus. He's going to hold a sketch-a-thon to raise money, the
full details are here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9832013/
I owe him for how much he featured my fursona Chris during the AfterProm Party, so this is
the one time I'm doing way more than just boosting for him.

Upper Obscene Adoptabes
General | Posted 5 years agoI swear, if I see another really fun-looking adoptable, with a price in the
hundreds of dollars, I'm gonna scream. I understand the idea of an
artist being paid for their time and effort, normally I don't have a
problem with that. In this case however, I don't even understand
why they charge that much, because only a tiny minority is going
to have the petty cash to spend $100-200 on an adoptable.
The worst thing is I can't even use them for inspiration, or the
artist will scream bloody murder. I've already had one rip me
a new one and ban me from their page, over a misinterpreted
comment. It's something I never want to happen again, and
this would be asking for far, far worse.

Projects on Pause
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everyone,
Unfortunately my mood's become really unstable again, with diminishing returns every time I
try to write or draw anything. So I'm putting everything, including my participation in the
Thursday Prompt, on hold for now, until I can recover. I know what the problem is, it's just
gonna be difficult to fix, when I'm trapped in a small house, with two other grown adults
just about living in my lap.

Miss you Dalfy!
General | Posted 5 years agoI just found someone on YouTube who did a very good animation of Candlemon digivolving to Wizardmon.
it's a bit long because they show off the sketch and line work versions too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VqwhoURXk8
Still it was more than enough to bring me a warm rush of feelings. Three or four years ago, I tried to join
an online Digimon RPG, and Gandalf or Dalfy was my Candlemon partner, with Wizardmon as his
Champion form. Even though the RPG never worked out because I kept going though major bouts of
anxiety, I'm still very fond of Dalfy, and I miss him badly sometimes.

Condeming the Attack on the Capitol Building
General | Posted 5 years agoI swear, I haven't been this upset since the day the Twin Towers fell.
Half of me wishes to unleash the full fury of the demon Tridekaleon
on them, the other half wants to raise a magical barrier around
my house and the whole grounds, and hide from the rest of the world
till I feel safe again.

Happy Naked, Wet, Screaming, Mouse Day
General | Posted 5 years agoNo, no the wet t-shirt contest isn't till late June. *Chuckles*
Today's my Birthday, and I've now logged forty-five trips around the sun.
It's a little scary, because I've missed out completely on the wife, the kids,
and the little house with the white picket fence. On the other hand,
has been my soul-mate for more years that I can count, and I have good friends
on-line and off, and people who would know, tell me I'm a pretty decent writer.
So I do have some pluses under my belt as well. In the end, all I can hope is that
Robert Frost was right, and taking the road not traveled, really did make a
difference.

Jimmy's Missing Stories
General | Posted 5 years agoWell, this is strange! At least two old stories staring
's Jimmy Lee Starbird have vanished from my
hard drive. One, I was able to retrieve from here, the others I can't, because Roland Bloodthunder has apparently
left FurAffinity and taken the stories with him. Roochak never copied the stories to his gallery, he just linked to
Roland. I would have never know the stories were missing from my computer, if I hadn't sought them out,
attempting to reconnect with Jimmy Lee, so I could finally polish off a holiday story I've had for years.

Gadget Doesn't Smoke!
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everyone,
There's been a sudden rush of drawings depicting Gadget Hackwrench smoking a cigarette. Now in the past,
I've agreed to disagree with a couple of artists who draw their own characters doing it. As a long time fan of
Disney's second-most famous mouse-girl, I have to draw a line here. The mere idea upsets me to no end,
because it comes off as completely wrong to me. I know, I know, I can't complain about it being out of
character, because that ship sailed a long time ago. Still, even a yiffy artist can have their limits, and this
is one of them.
