Okay, That Was Weird
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everyone,
I know it seems like ever since last March, everyone's been dreaming a little strange, but even for me, this took the care.
It was one of those vivid, elaborate dreams that should have been introduced by a roaring lion, involving armor
piercing hornets, a secret corporate project that created cyborg piranha, and two separate mobile fortresses straight
out of a Japanese Anime. And the kicker was, I was supposed to be leading an elite team of super-mecha pilots trained
to deal with that and more. I never saw what we were piloting, but I specifically remember getting to the cockpits via
a set of color-coded jump tubes in a wall. Oh, and a ghost-girl named Kimmy who was supposed to prevent the
lady in charge of the whole thing, from double crossing me and the team.

So Much For Halloween
General | Posted 5 years agoWell folks, it looks like Halloween is officially a bust in the art department. Clear back at the beginning of October,
I started making plans to have at least one themed drawing sketched out by today. Unfortunately IRL has been
such a bloody roller coaster that all three of my ideas never really made it beyond the doodling stage. I can't
really be disappointed in myself, but I really do wish things had been otherwise.

Mom Needs Lung Surgery
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everyone,
The news is bad. If she's to regain full function in her right lung, my mom has to go in for surgery.
It's a coin flip though, just how much she'll need. Worst case, the answer is lots and she'll end up in
intensive care for at least a week. Meanwhile, the hospital is sending mom home until they can
officially schedule the surgery. If mom suffers from repeated, major anxiety attacks, it'll end up
the emotional equivalent of trying to kayak though some really wicked rapids.

Update On My Mom
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everyone,
At least we now know why my mom kept getting sick this year. Her right lung got damaged
from repeated bouts of Pneumonia, and they have to clean out the accumulated gunk,
even if they have to do surgery to accomplish it. And it's gonna take a while no matter what
they do, so I have no idea when she'll be able to come home again. At least I'm no longer
afraid she's gonna die. But this the most serious problem she's had, since she messed up
her back in a toboggan accident years ago.

Good News Bad News
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everybody,
Well it's a mixed day here.
found her home is intact, so she's moving back in and recovering
from a bad case of getting scared out of her mind.
The bad news is my mom was admitted to the hospital last night. It wasn't the Corona Virus, thank God, but they
did discover she has fluid in one of her lungs. It's being treated with antibiotics, but I'm as scared as I was when
she had double pneumonia earlier this year.

TMI: What Chris Isn't
General | Posted 5 years agoAs revealed in The Mouse Diaries, Chris Mouse has very little memory of his life, prior to waking up in St. Francis Hospital,
other than some vague memories of having been human. In honor of TMI Tuesday, I thought I'd post a list of discarded
ideas on who Chris might have been.
A teenage genius scientist and inventor, who among other things, created a whole new programing language, resulting
in the creation of D.A.V.I.D.
a former prisoner of the Supremacist Human Purity Crusaders who they mentally and physically broke, until there
was nothing left of his personality but a burning need for revenge against them, at all costs.
An ordinary human teenager who tried to commit biomorphic suicide in an attempt to give himself the kind of
beautiful, deeply meaning full life he never had.
A former child-actor whose memory is now so Swiss cheesed he can't tell if the occasional, old memory is from his TV character,
or real life.
A Furry, android replica of the original Chris, created by Dave because it was the only way to save his life. The memory gaps were
deliberate, helping to hide Chris' true nature, even from himself.
A unicorn, the secret son of Prae Mystery The Prince of The Forest, and his reincarnated Mate, Mollis.
A living bio-weapon of incredible destructive potential, who rejected both his creators and his destiny, and begged to be turned
into something innocent and harmless, so he could live out his life in peace.

Bloody Windows 10!
General | Posted 5 years agoI already wasn't in a good mood because I don't feel good, I have a headache,
and I didn't sleep well last night. Now Widows 10 won't let me save the latest
version of a drawing I was clipping for a reference, telling me it can't complete
the action because the file is locked. Only the file doesn't have the padlock
symbol on it. Also, the trick to unlocking files that worked in Widows 7 is
missing in 10. I swear, if I have to fight 10 every time I need a file that
wasn't created on Windows 10, then I might as well just shoot myself now.

We have Lost a Civil Rights Giant
General | Posted 5 years agoLiving Legend Congressman John Lewis has passed away, leaving behind a Civil Rights legacy who's value is incalculable. He was the
last person alive who was front, and center with Martin Luther King Jr and widely believed to be his spiritual, if on t physical heir. He
was also one of the first people injured on Bloody Sunday; a peaceful protest in Selma, Alabama that was met with violent force from
the authorities. Once he was elected to congress, he continued the fight for equality, earning a great deal of respect. One of the last
things he did was visit the huge Black Lives Matter sign, painted on a Washington DC street in curb to curb letters. Sir, this world
will be that much poorer, without you.

Wrath of a Mouse-Boy
General | Posted 5 years ago I've often wondered what it would take to make my fursona Chris well and
truly mad. Now I know. Burn down the biggest and best disabled playground
in the New York State for no other reason that because you can. The only reason
Chris isn't unleashing every horror he can imagine on the people who did this,
is because the nearby carousel was untouched. Had they torched that, Chris'
absolute fury would have made Silent Hill look like a birthday party.
Dave the Cyber Collie isn't in a good mood either, but he has enough perspective
to realize that compared to the looting and burning in some of the big cities, a
playground is a small price to pay. That doesn't meant he has to like it. Or that
he won't take a great deal of pleasure in personally tasing anyone who smells
like a burning playground and isn't a first responder.

Best Buy Catch 22
General | Posted 5 years ago*Sighs* I've got my eye on the Leader Class Optimus Prime from Transformers
current Earthrise line, because it's a total homage to his original, flat-nosed
semi-tractor trailer toy from over thirty-five years ago. Complete with a
brand new trailer. Unfortunately for me, the only local store that offers it
on-line, with curbside pickup is Best Buy, But there's a Catch 22.
The website only offers the Leader Class assortment for sale, leaving the
figure you actually get, up to chance. They recommend if you want a
specific character, to stop by the store and choose it yourself. But the
store is only open for curbside pickup. If that wasn't enough to overload
a 50's robot's brain, it's currently impossible to call the store and ask,
everyone is refusing to take inventory questions thanks to the
Corona Virus.
I'll still get my hands on him, I'll either have to pay S&H or hope the only store
I can easily drive to, puts a single Optimus on the shelf again.

Halfway There!
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everyone,
Well, it's been two weeks since I twisted my ankle, and the trip out on Tuesday for a few things
did not result in any pain at all, so I'm definitely on the mend. I'll still be taking things relatively
easy until the month is up, because the last thing I want to do is re-injure it by trying to do too
much, too soon.
That and I wanted to reassure
,
and
that I haven't forgotten
about the stories I was going to write. I fully intend to honor those commitments, it's just that
between my ankle and the lockdown, it's left me too emotionally exhausted, and all three of you
deserve the very best of my talent. That's also why it's taking far longer than normal for me to
reply to things on here. While my overall mood is okay, I'm still having days when just going
though the motions feels like one of the labors of Hercules.

And Mouse is Down for Month
General | Posted 5 years agoAs if the near total shutdown of the country wasn't bad enough, last Tuesday, I took
advantage of one of the few, warm sunny days to take a walk....and promptly
twisted my ankle pretty severely. So now I really am stuck at home for a month
while the stupid thing heals. And pretty much reduced to reading as my only
outlet for now, because I can't sit at the computer for long, and I'm not sure
how well I can draw with this big ol' orthopedic boot on. Still, I'll survive, if
only because I've often joked that the family crest has a pair of rearing goats.

"I’m not doing very well. Fighting possible heart failure due to the super high pulse rate caused by the knee injury way back on February 5th. They operated on my knee a removed a very large but treatable staph infection. Even with that gone my heart hasn’t re-stabilized. Getting pumped full of antibiotics , not allowed to@have visitors thank to the stupid coronavirus , slowly losing my mind. Haven’t slept properly in days. They just did another replacement iv which makes 7 in the past 13 hours. So sick of being stabbed. I’m not in a very sound mental state. But thank you all so much for being here. Love you all."

Signal Boost for CheetahJab's GoFundMe
General | Posted 6 years ago
the creator of the Cats N' Cameras webcomic was in a bad motorcycleaccident. He's basically okay, but the bike he'd spent months saving up for, and owned
for all of three hours, was destroyed. The whole story can be found here:

spit in the bucket. But I know there are lots of you out there who are as fond of the comic
as I am, so won't you consider helping out CheetaJab when he really needs it?

Infinity Train: Book Two
General | Posted 6 years agoWell, the first episode of Infinity Train: Book Two premiered last night.
And I have to say, I am intrigued. Starting the story with Mirror Tulip as a
main character wasn't what I was expecting. Of course I didn't recognize
her specifically from the ads because the first thing she does is
drastically change her appearance.
Jessie is an enigma, because unlike Tulip, we know nothing about
his life before he shows up on the train. He comes off as a complete
airhead, but One/One wouldn't have picked him up if he didn't have
serious problems IRL.
Deer/ Alan Dracula is the one I'm most fascinated with. First appearing
as an ordinary deer, he quickly displays a wide range of superhero style
abilities, he seems to use at a whim. Based on the way Book One ended,
I'm expecting the biggest surprise about him is yet to come.

Friday the 13th TMI
General | Posted 6 years agoGreetings everyone,
My name is Tridekaleon, black cat and demon emissary of Karma.
Because I am in my element today, I will answer any and all
questions about myself, and my unique role in the world created
by Serath and

Here are a few tidbits to start things off.
I am a symbiotic demigod, consisting of an immortal Darkness
Elemental currently possessing a mortal cat-morph. Without a
mortal host, the Elemental part of me would have nothing to
ground him, or give him perspective.
It's my job, to punish people who have acquired too much bad
Karma. At my worst, I can trap people in a world created by their
own sins, much like Jacob Marley and his chains, only on grander
scale. Unlike Marley, there is always a way out, if they can find it.
For the first time in forever, I actually have a physical location in
the mortal world where I can be found. The owners of the
Briarwood apartment building, gave Apartment 13 to me, rather
than have it go to waste. Even a demon like me needs to let his
hair down once in a while, so the gesture was very much
appreciated.
TMI Tuesday
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everyone,
Yesterday IRL, turned out to be the fourth worst day of my life, between
finding out about the deaths of Odo, Big Bird and Oscar, and a bad
reaction to a Flu shot that left me bedridden all last evening. So I'm
ready for something really positive to make up for it. I'm opening the
floor to any reasonable question about Chris Mouse, DAVID, Kali, Taun,
and all the rest.
Now We've Lost Big Bird and Odo
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everybody,
This is turning out to be a horrible week. Hot on the heels of
D.C. Fontana, we've now lost Rene Auberjonois, and
Caroll Spinney. Rene is most famous as the dour,
shapeshifting head of security on Star Trek: Deep Space
Nine. He was also the voice actor for quite a few animated
characters, including Chef Louie from Disney's The Little
Mermaid. He even had a guest role in the Sy-Fy channel's
Warehouse 13.
Caroll Spinney is far less famous that the characters he brought
to life; two of Sesame Street's founding, and most beloved
muppets, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. One was a wide-eyed,
innocent, yellow-feathered, seven-foot tall child. The other lived
in a trash can and could have given Dr Seuss' Grinch a run for his
money in the foul mood department.
Loosing Rene really hurts, but I feel like I've lost part of my
childhood with Caroll's death. And in a way all the adult art
here on FA could never accomplish.
