Goodbye D.C. we'll Miss You!
General | Posted 6 years agoI just found out that legendary TV show writer Dorothy "D.C." Fontana
has just passed away. I'll always fondly remember her most, for being
on the ground floor of this crazy, sci-fi experiment back in the 60's
by the unlikely name of Star Trek. She became one of the show's
chief writers, and it wouldn't surprise me if some of the best loved
episodes had her name attached to them.
The Real Ghostbusters and Personal OCs
General | Posted 6 years ago Hi Everybody!
I was watching a video on YouTube speculating on how the Ghostbusters'
classification system works. It got me thinking, since
and I
have at least two OCs who are ghosts, and another is a demon who later
had kids. Since I've loved the original movie and the cartoon series,
I'm fascinated by the idea of Egon Spangler taking Psycho-Kinetic-Energy
(P.K.E.) readings on them all.
Unfortunately, the only concrete scale available was published in a role-
playing game published thirty-five years ago. I'll do some hunting
around to see if there's an agreed fan-cannon on this, and post my own
guesses later.

Christmas and Jimmy Lee or Not?
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everyone,
Last year, I finally started writing a yiffy, holiday-themed story
staring my Chris, and
's Jimmy Lee Starbird. The thing is, I may not be able to work on it this year. I'm
trying to decide if it's worth making the attempt, or just nibble
away at something just as fun, but not as dependent on the
holiday season for a setting.
Most of my hesitation is because IRL, this summer and fall were
a train wreck and it's not going to get any better. Case in point,
it looks like I'll have to make a choice between a full-time job
in my field, and being here for my parents, because my dad's
having his third surgery of the year, right before Christmas.
Normally, I'd just ask
for advice, but he's been seriously over stressed from work, a lot lately, and now he's
really sick.
My Singing Mouse
General | Posted 6 years agoIf anyone is playing My Singing Monsters and wants
me for a friend, the my code should be 90071515AB
At the moment, there's not a heck of a lot, aside from
Plant Island, but I did manage to breed a Punkelton.
Age of Z Lite?
General | Posted 6 years agoAfter seeing an add for a game called Age of Z while playing Plants vs Zombies
I decided to download Age of Z and check it out. I really like the idea and the
gameplay's not bad. The thing is I'm not really a gamer, and the idea of playing
one of these Massive-Multiplayer games is pretty intimidating. Especially when
the game allows for other players to raid you for your resources. Does anyone
know of a Zombie-themed City Builder game that would allow me to get my
feet wet on the idea, without the fear of having my ass handed to me on
a regular basis by other players?
No NYC Trip for Me
General | Posted 6 years ago Unfortunately, my family wasn't able to make the bus trip
to New York City and Ground Zero after all. Both my parents
ended up in too much pain to survive the trip, though my
Dad's neck pain is somewhat manageable. My mom on the
other hand, is in pretty bad shape; her back's flared up again
to the point where she's in the ER again.

And There She Explodes Again!
General | Posted 6 years agoI just wanted to put a general thank-you out to everyone who
made my Faves explode again, after I posted those old commissions
of mine. I'll post a couple more, then give your inboxes a rest for
a little while. When I'm gainfully employed again, I may spend some
money updating a couple of them, since they were so well received.
Incoming Chris Art Wave.
General | Posted 6 years agoI was taking a look through the folder on my hard drive reserved for
comms featuring
's Goldie Markham and my fursona Chris and almost did a take. I hadn't realized just how much art
has been commissioned of Chris over the years. So I'm going to
upload some of the best of them, while I wait for my nerves and
my muse to settle down enough to do some drawing of my own again.
Thanks Admins!
General | Posted 6 years agoI just wanted to thank the admins and everyone else who worked
their asses off, over the last couple of days, to bring the site back
on-line. I took several computer programming classes in college
so I do have some idea of the enormity of the task you folks
faced in not only nailing down the problem, but having to re-load
the entire thing. So again, thank you.
Want a Night With Chris?
General | Posted 6 years agoI had to blow a hole in my budget, while Dad was in the hospital
with combination of low-grade meningitis and an unexpected
pacemaker operation. So to make up for the shortfall, I'm
strongly considering offering up an erotic YCH story involving
my fursona Chris Mouse. The fun part is I'm setting up tiers
for it, with different, more yiffy scenarios as the bids climb.
at the very least, the winner will walk away with a six-eight
page story. The usual list no-nos most artists list on Fa
will be fully enforced.
Dad's Home
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know my dad is home and resting
comfortably. Though it's only now hitting him, just how weak he
is after having a pacemaker implanted. That means I get to do'
about eighty-percent of the housework, because he can't lift more
that a stray thought with his left arm until everything heals. The
good news is that a lot of people RL have offered to help, so I
won't need four arms and a tail to keep up with everything.
Hospital
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everyone,
Things have been so hectic, I haven't had the energy to update my
journal. Last Wednesday night, we had to rush my dad to the ER with
a possible case of meningitis. They admitted him that night, they
accidentally gave him an aspirin, so we had to wait an extra day
before they did the spinal tap. Meanwhile everyone including my
mom and I had to wear gloves, a gown and a mask around him.
The test turned up negative, but after his heart-rate plunged on
him, my dad got transferred to a cardiac floor and is scheduled for
pacemaker surgery tomorrow. So now I'm near burn out, from the
constant trips up, and I've blown both my diet and my bank
account to hell. Even though I've barely been able to talk to him
over telegram, my relationship with
has been a true source of strength for me. Puppy Love, when this is over, I'm gonna
spoil you so bad. *Falls over and explodes*
Pride Month - Sexual ID Question
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everyone,
What with it being pride month and all, I thought I'd throw out a
question to all my watchers: What sexual identity is Taun Sytras?
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery.....-the-Jello-Cat
When I originally conceived of Taun Sytras, her entire sexual identity
was very much in question. Due to being kidnapped and genetically
experimented on, she lost most of her external characteristics,
including the sexual ones. My original idea depicted her as either a
flat-chested girl, or a male lacking external genitalia.
Most artists have since depicted Taun as female, complete with
a fairly realistic bust, which is why I'm using the pronoun. However,
in the last five-years a whole cornucopia of new identities has
emerged, and I'd like to take advantage of that, to re-define
who Taun Sytras is.
Endgame is Awesome!
General | Posted 6 years agoHi everyone,
I can't believe it's a weekend later and I'm only putting this journal up now!
Some friends and I went to see Avengers Endgame last Sunday, and I can
tell you with full confidence that this is the rare movie that lives up to it's
hype. As the second half of a plot ten years in the making, the movie
is the best capstone to wrap things up in a bow. And in doing so, it yanks
the viewer in by the eyeballs and doesn't let go until the credits are rolling.
There is so much to love about this movie, that I could go on for
paragraphs and only scratch the surface of all the rich detail Endgame
serves up. However in the interests of maximizing everyone else's
enjoyment, I'm keeping it all to myself for now. Literally, it's that kind
of movie.
The only thing I will say, is that instead of being wildly excited
like usual, when I left, I felt like I'd had to say goodbye to a huge
number of characters who had become old and dear friends to me.
But at the same time, it left me in a very contented mood about it.
Live Action Sonic Movie
General | Posted 6 years agoHi everyone,
My thanks to Allspark.com for bringing this to my attention. There's now
a trailer out for a live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie, coming out
this year.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvvZaBf9QQI
This is definitely one of those movies that will either be worshiped by
legions of Sonic fans, or it'll end up sucking like an octopus nursery.
Though I will say, Sonic having two distinct eye sockets doesn't bother
me as much as I thought it would. That and Robotnik comes across
like a hi-tech loving version of Count Olaf, rather than the big,
bombastic blowhard fans are used to.
Ulysses 31 Pilot
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everyone,
For the past month or so, I've been watching an old anime called
Ulysses 31. It's a retelling of Homer's Odyssey, transformed into
a thirty-first century science fiction epic. For a show that's date to
the late 70's early 80's, the show is completely brilliant, in how it
adapts the ancient Greek story. I thoughly recommend checking
it out here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?li.....1F80E9198EC877
Well tonight, I found an upload of the original plot to the show,
and the differences are informative. The Odyssey and it's bridge
were completely redesigned, As was Ulysses' son Telemachus
(Teh-lem-a-cuss). Ulysses' and the alien girl Yumi's changes
were more cosmetic. The only one who stayed unchanged is
the little robot Nono. The pilot can be watched here:

The World Weeps as Notre Dame Burns
General | Posted 6 years agoHi Everyone,
Tonight, my heart is breaking. Notre Dame, the beloved French landmark
and symbol of Paris to the world over, is still on fire, even as I'm
writing this down. So I wanted to send my deepest sympathies to the French
furs here, and anyone who actually lives in and around the City of Light.
Re: Chrischurch Shooting
General | Posted 7 years agoI just wanted to send out a message to all the New Zealand furs on FA,
my heart goes out to you folks. I know some of what everyone down
there must be feeling right now, there was a mass-shooting in my
home town, about ten years ago. And your country always has a fond
place in my heart, not just because of the movies and films shot there,
but because on of my first, real, on-line friends came from New Zealand.
I still miss him, even now.
And

Salkitten Shattered her Ankle!
General | Posted 7 years agoI just got word that

far as to create a GoFundMe page, since the medical bills
are going to exhaust her savings. All the details can be

Signal Boost: Best Man Can't Afford His Tux
General | Posted 7 years agoHi Everyone,
Now this is just sad.
was chosen as Best Manfor a Wedding, and he's nearly homeless, and unable to even
rent a tux. So he's set up a GoFundMe page, to help him
get enough money to cover it.

Bravestar The Movie
General | Posted 7 years agoHi Everyone,
I just spend an hour-and-a-half watching an old, direct-to-video
movie that explained the origin of Bravestar, a Texas-themed
sci-fi western cartoon from back in the 80's. What made my jaw
drop over it, are two things. First, the story is so rich with detail,
characterization and plot, that it makes some current Hollywood
blockbusters look like they came out of a cereal box, by
comparison.
Second, the movie, and the series by extension, was far ahead
of it's time. The main character is Native American; his horse is a
gun-toting cyborg with an attitude; and it features a strong, female
lead in J.B. who is every bit Bravestar's equal. And as the Cherry on
top, the cute little local aliens who were dismissed as vermin by the
human inhabitants, turn out instead to be a highly-advanced
civilization with an intuitive knack for mechanics like you wouldn't
believe.
Happy Wet and Squeaking Day!
General | Posted 7 years agoHi Everyone,
Last year was gonna be my Douglas Adams year, but ended up
with me left feeling like I'd been hit with a brick, without the
refreshing hint of lemon, or the satisfaction of having tried the
most potent drink in the known universe. Instead, I felt like
Arthur Dent, lost, confused, and not knowing what the frood
was going on half the time. I have my fingers crossed that
2019 is going to be a much better year. And while you're
here, help yourself to a slice of cake.
Merry Christmas You Guys!
General | Posted 7 years agoI don't care if you believe in Christ, Yahweh, or the Great
Spaghetti Monster, so long as this is the season for loving
and giving, this holiday is for you. Chris Mouse hugs all around.
Help an Abused Fur Move to a New State!
General | Posted 7 years ago Hi Everyone,
Every once in a while, I run into a situation here on FA that both makes
my blood boil, and my empathy crank up to maximum. :Red-Dragon-Adopts icon:
is trying to move to another state to escape an ex-boyfriend who has
already abused her, threatened her with blackmail, and is quiet capable
of stalking and attacking her. Needless to say, the emotional strain
has already danged near broken her. And her life was already a train
wreck before this. Full details can be found here:

Cheetahjab in Serious Financial Trouble
General | Posted 7 years ago Hi Everyone,
has just put up a journal that he's in severe trouble,
and if something doesn't happen, in the next couple of weeks, he'll
have to close down the whole web empire he's built up over the last two
decades. I nearly had a heart attack when I thought the Cat's N' Camera
comic was going under as well. That's safe, but Palcomics, and the Jab
Archives may be making their final curtain call. My personal opinion aside,
I really do feel awful, having to say goodbye to something that's been
around almost the entire time I've been on the internet.
