I've been using that name for quite a while on other social media places such as Twitter and Twitch so I thought it would be best to align FA with my other accounts.

Imperium Draknir Discord
Posted 5 years agoAfter giving it some serious debate, I have decided it is high time to unveil the Official Imperium Draknir Discord!

As to just what is Imperium Draknir?
Imagine a realm older than civilisations,
A domain that speaks in aeons,
Origins in an age of myths,
Its hand in every legend.
An empire of treasure and majesty endless,
Of glory and pride.
Wealth abound, where kings are enshrined,
Where gods walk among the mundane,
And an emperor is but one of many.
This is the Sublime Imperium.
An empire of empires, where gold means little,
But power and reputation mean everything.
Above them all is the master of kings,
The imperial paragon,
The prime exemplar,
Divine below the divines.
A billion stars are his domain,
A realm immortal,
An empire eternal,
That is the Sublime Imperium
I think that says most of it, honestly. I’m interested in collaborators and to provide a venue for all kinds of fiction and after years of work the result is this crazy space fantasy/opera looking place that could possibly make sense as firm science fiction.
To condense it all down, a whole empire for adventures to take place in (and beyond). Where fantasy, technology and magic all blur together into one.

Posted 5 years agoYou'd think the lockdown would give me more time for art, but with side-projects and external responsibilities I guess not. Not for me, at least.
Well some good news at least is I've been compiling Imperium Drkanir in my head for a while hoping to distil the details a little. Meanwhile I been having a hit-and-miss time practising website design, I'm thinking it might help me to build a website, a Draknid Compendium if you will.
But organisation and categorisation comes first. I'm not short on details but I don't think many would be keen on getting into the Draknir with a doorstopper-size book thrown at them. I've been really smiling at the interest taken in Uriel and his world from everyone, it's helping to keep me motivated.

Posted 5 years agoSo, for a while now I've been revamping a website I've had for a couple of years. I set up a personal studio I've called Star Drake Projects where I plan to host commission services and a place to sell printed and printed-on items of my artwork. I recommend everyone check it out, and to contact me if you like what you see.
My main Uriel is front and centre on display, which granted has made him the eponymous Star Drake .for which the studio gets its name.

Happy New Year everyone!
Posted 6 years agoIt's the start of a new year, but it is also the start of a new decade.
I like the refreshing feeling of a new year because for a brief time it is like all that matters is what is ahead. For me, what is ahead is another year to show the world the Draknir.
I ended last year with some ideas. But I am hoping this year I can make headway for turning those ideas into something real. Wish me luck, and I wish everyone all the best in the year ahead.

An introduction, and what I have planned
Posted 6 years agoSo, how to introduce myself?
Well, I am an artist and creature designer who has been drawing and modelling dragons since about 2011. But only recently came to FA. With my painting skills on the up and the kinds of designs I as making, it felt like a perfect fit to sign up.
When I'm not drawing (granted rather attractive) dragons, I'm figuring out the world they come from. In the case of my longest-running design - the Draknir - that happens to be a quarter-of-a-million-years-old intergalactic empire from Andromeda that may have been watching Earth and humanity (as well as a hundred other planets) for an extremely long time. It's a pretty enormous empire I started working on when plenty of galactic empires in fiction just felt too dang small and modest after I started painting and playing Warhammer 40,000.
While most of the fundamental aspects are down, there's plenty of its recorded history that is still open but honestly that's also a great place for some big collaborative project and encounters of a wide degree of officiality. Let's just say with a billion star systems and 250,000 years there's a lot of ground to cover regarding the makeup of the Sublime Draknid Imperium.
