my aging computer parts caused me to lose a finished commission yesterday so I really need to start replacing stuff before my desktop becomes unusable

I reference a lot of art from different artists (actually have 585 folders for at least that many artists) but I never really give back to any of them
maybe I'll do some art gifting to some of them at some point

POST-CON REPORT

Alright, so my friend and I drove up on Wednesday out of LA which is about a six hour drive. Now normally this wouldn't have been much of a problem but neither my friend or I actually got any sleep the night before so what ended up happening is I had to stay awake to make sure he stayed awake so he wouldn't fall asleep at the wheel.
Four cans of energy drink later we made it to San Jose safe and sound and we got to the marriot about 2:30-3:00pm where we met the rest of our roommates. So after we checked in and got unpacked instead of my friend and I getting some sleep we went out to buy booze and ended up partying till about 2:00am
and that was pretty much Wednesday for me


So on Thursday I think I just dicked around and did some drawing till regular registration opened. Once I was there I met  tommyfurcetti who was a cool dude and made the three and a half hours in line pass a little quicker. I can't remember if the dealers den was open on Thursday but if it was I probably stopped by there. After all that I partied with some friends again and ended up playing Cards Against Humanity with a bunch of stoned people which, admittedly, was a lot more fun than the game of Bang we were playing earlier


On Friday I met up with  arcshep and  ruska while they were registering, they were cool dudes. I know I bugged  djmixer  cybill and  timothybh at their booths and picked up my copies of Boystown from  seely and I probably said hi to  merri  jellithepanda and my friend Jello at some point (I can't remember her FA right now) in the artists lounge
That night for dinner my roommates and I went to Pizza my Heart where I suddenly came down with concrud. Afterwards they Went to Safeway to pick up more water and booze for the room and I just went back to the hotel fully expecting to get some sleep. Unfortunately when I got back to the hotel I realized that the party floor was open so I met back up with  arcshep and one of his friends and we went around the party floor for the rest of the night.


Saturday I mostly hung out with  merri at the artists lounge and in the dealers den. We were going to catch  kamui's panel on color theory but we went out for pho at Pho 69 and didn't realize what time it was so when we got back to the hotel we just headed to the party floor. I think my Das Horn and Guinness Cap with bottle opener on the brim were a big success, some people even liked them.


Sunday I mostly hung out at the artists lounge and worked on this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....groundwip1.png and I think I ended up heading up to the room early to drink the rest of my beer and go to bed at a decent time (and to reserve a spot on a bed since I didn't like sleeping on the floor on Friday night)


On Monday I got packed and headed down to what was left of the artist's lounge to try and scrape up some gas money while my driver drove everyone else to the airport. I met some other artists there and we hung out for a few hours before I headed home


All in all it was a good convention, next year me and  merri are getting a booth so you guys can be sure to bug us in the dealers den
also it was nice meeting some many people who like my art at this convention, it's still something I'm not really used to

I'll put up a post-FC recap when I can find some people to corroborate my story

I'm probably going to get there around 1:00 pm and I'll just be relaxing before the con actually starts

I installed a new-ish SSD (at least I know it works) and I might be able to start streaming again as soon as tonight
there's still a lot of work to be done, I still need to buy an extra HDD just so I have room to put stuff but I think things should be back to normal within a week

also I lost some music so I might need some help getting that back, and I hope to do enough commissions to Buy a Cintiq Companion next month, we'll see how that goes

the portfolio contains 74 high-resolution PNGs and 37 full resolution PSDs (PSDs best viewed using Paint Tool Sai since Photoshop doesn't support some of the layer properties I use)
