Now that the absolutely ruinous first two months of this year are over, it's time to enter March like a lion...coon. I'll be posting a new, non-depressing story later on today and getting down to business on the next one entitled '13 Steps'. It will be something I almost never do: a continuation. It will be the second story in "The Follower" extended universe. The outline is complete and it's ready to get scribbled.

I was planning on a nice, fun trip to Las Vegas starting Friday, but that's scrapped due the bane of adult existence: unexpected home repairs. So now I have a nice staycation to get some writing done.

Hello!

I thought I'd write a journal quick. The plan was ("plan" in serious quotes - not regular quotes, serious ones) to ramp up production over Christmas and stay social cause I was feeling good and creative and life was going well. However, before Christmas I got sick with a miserable non,-COVID cold, and then before New Year's I got sick with another, different miserable non-COVID cold. And now I'm going through some other weird thing that I don't even know right now. You know when your body gets down and you just pick up everything? That's kind of where I'm living at the moment.

I'm going to do some reading of some stories for a while - I have enough focus to do that, at least. I have a good little stockpile built up right now. Once I'm 100% again I have several things I'm working on and will start kicking out smaller works and a few bigger ones. But I gotta get 100% again.

And that's the other thing. I'm used to mental illness. That's lovely stuff. It's predictable and controllable and treatable and overcomable. It's the physical illness that's the hard stuff. It's nothing serious or grave, but it's enough body load that it makes the little things hard. Like the difference between enjoying a TV show and just looking forward and counting down the minutes while a TV show goes on in front of you.

Anyways, enough is enough for this rant. Hope everyone had a lovely holidays! And if you're like me and you didn't, let's party when the better times arrive, shall we? Thank you and, well, life sucks sometimes so please be kind to one another.

Hi, everyone!

Sorry I've been quiet over the past while. I had recently found out that I had been hit by credit card fraud to the tune of $7,500. I was at the grocery store when the card was declined at the Co-op and I thought it was just like "Oh, Co-op. You crazy." Then I got home and looked at my statement. I had no freaking clue you could actually spend money in TikTok, but there was $7,500 in TikTok charges going back to November. I would have had far more respect for the jerks if they would have like bought something cool with it like "Harmonica Warehouse" or "Big Bob's New And Used Pretzels". But TikTok? Crime I can live with, bad taste I cannot!

Well, I laid an egg and went into a funk the past while. Between being absolutely broke for a while and just the sheer crap of the situation, I've withdrawn for a while. Anyways, the fraud department are doing their thing and I'm sure this will all be straightened out soon enough. I've kind of collected myself mentally enough to get back to work now, so thank you for putting up with my nonsense. Take care everyone!

Thank you all for your requests! I really do appreciate them, and oh boy, have they worked! I've been hammering away the past two nights and am pretty energized for writing, honestly. All of you are awesome.

Now, I've got enough work here to last me a month or so. Requests shall be completed in the order in which they were received, and I'll keep in touch with everyone individually to let them know how progress is going. All works shall remain confidential unless the requestors wish it otherwise, and so shall it be.

However, say this on the record: I am not seeking and I will not seek any remuneration in any form. I'm writing these stories because you're all wonderful folks! My only desires are to become a better writer, to give back to the community and to provide satisfactory work for the requestors. Plus, I'm not really that good at it. So there. That's it!

Long time, no talk. I took some time off because a) anxiety and b) I totally lost my creative spark. But, I kept an open mind, and it's back. I'm working on a new project which I'm enjoying very much. It's a story concerning isolation and loneliness. Please allow ten days for delivery.

So! I'll be honest. I have been more or less completely blocked up for the past week. I'd open a story, sit down to write and nothing would come out. I'd try to sketch something else and never got very far. I just gave up on the weekend. But today lightning struck! I'm hammering away on what will probably be a shorter, lighter work that I hope to have done in a week. I'm going on vacation next week, so I'd like to power through it and get it up before then. Should be able to. I'm optomistic. Anyway, if you want a clue, I'll provide one, but if not, I'll let it be a pleasant surprise. Thank you and have a good week, everyone!

So, I have a few housekeeping items that I'd like to go over now that Far From Home is up and running.

1. I HAVE 100 FAVOURITES!!! YAAAY!!! And it only took me like just shy of 12 years! Maybe it's something it took like a few days, maybe a few weeks, but some person out there in the universe cares enough to click on it, an then click "favourite" on it. That means something to me. Thank you, deeply. I find I'm coming up on 2,500 pageviews, too. Also mind-boggling for a crumby little furry writer with 15 crumby little stories. Thank you for that, as well.

2. I'm fleshing out my DeviantArt page again to cast the net a bit wider. https://www.deviantart.com/raccooninc It's nothing that isn't already here, though. This is my main and, honestly, where I feel at home.

3. I'm not really working on anything right now. Just reading and commenting and chilling out until a brainwave strikes, so if you have any ideas for something I could be good at and do justice to, please let me know. I'll be happy to give it a shot. Honestly, though, I think I'll write something short next. Maybe alternate between short works I can do in a week and longer that will take a few weeks just to try and keep up production.

Well, "Far From Home" is coming along just ducky and is over halfways complete now. So far, so good. I may go back and expand the second section later, but it's good for now. Sections three and four are where the good stuff sets in. I still hope to have it all done by the weekend. I'm writing more stuff. :V I should have one story, a quickie ("The Night Watch"), ready in a couple of days and another, a slowie ("Far From Home", and in no way related to Spiderman who apparently erstwhile predicated their name upon mine like with a time machine or something but as a raccoon I can forgive the thievery), in a couple of weeks. The quickie is a bit of a pallet cleanser in between longish stories. The slowie is a third complete and moving along nicely. I've got a couple of sparks, so I'm feeling pretty good!

Hope everyone is having a fine day as we ease into this lovely Canada Day weekend. I thought I would say hey and announce that I am working on my next story. Tentative title is "Far From Home" and it is for my good friend and gifted writer himself,  befedelbumps. If you look further down my journals it says "Oh yeah! I'm totally writing something for Beffy! Oh, hey look over there! *vanish*" So that's where we are. Outline written and started laying down exposotional track. So far, so good!

So, The Follower is nearly complete. I mean, I have no place to call myself a writer if I don't write. It'll probably be like 9,000-10,000 words once totally finalized. Just a little more scribbling to tie up the ending and a few rounds of proofreading and it's ready to unleash unto the world. Hoping to have it all done Wednesday, but won't stress if it isn't. I'm nervous, but excited and I just hope it's readable and enjoyable. Anyway, good night, and thank you!

I, uh... I need a better icon. User pic? Profile pic? I made this one myself and it's like totally the outer limits of my graphic artistic potential. I made a sketch once, though, waiting for a co-worker to show up of a cute, thicc vixen and then left it on the table. When I got back to the shop at the end of the day someone pinned it up on the bulletin board. It was THE GREATEST THING I EVER DRAWED and I never claimed it. I just left it up, pled ignorance and admired it. I stuck to writing.

I'm thinking about hiring someone cool to make one, but I'm really spoiled for choice. Any thoughts?

Hello!

It's been a while. I decided like six years ago that life was too damn busy and I needed to trim some stuff out of my life to keep myself, you know, centred. So, I froze my FurAffinity account. Recently I decided that life was pretty good, but I was missing something. A creative outlet. So, I said what the hell and I thawed out my account. I'm working through, uh, 26,000 submissions that I missed. Yee.

Anyway, to everyone who watched and favourited while I was in suspended animation, thank you very much. I figure that I think now I'm just going to work on things slowly and at my pace when I have time and just make for the love of making. That sound kinda cheezy for someone who has like, what, a dozen stories to his name, but I like it. I'm proud of them all. I remember writing them. It was fun and engaging. See nowadays they got this OneDrive thing so I can jot down ideas anywhere and I don't gotta lug a notebook. Heh. Technology!

Anyway, now I'm just gonna write something easy. Something planned out and sketched out. Beginning, middle, end. Four acts, six chapters. Set em up, knock em down. Work on it a little bit every day. Or not. Read someone else's story on FurAffinity every day. Or not. When I want to, I will. It honestly makes me a more complete person when I do. So, I'll re-read mine and polish and work some more. And when it's done, release it into the wild and say to myself "I did that and it feels good." Yeah.

So, anyway, thank you. Sincerely, thank you. The raccoon in me lives, and it's a beautiful thing.

Well, there's another one written. It sucks when I sit down early in the evening, say to myself that I'm going to finish this story come hell or high water, and think that it will only take a couple of hours and that I can just relax and bask for a while.

And then it takes six hour and I'm up WAY too late at night. I hate it when it happens. But it's done and it's good, I think. Well, we'll see. I'm pleased with the result, anyway.

So now I think I'm gonna take a few days and do some reading. A wise author once said told me that a good writer reads at least twenty words for every one that they write, and I've been writing a lot lately. And hey, if someone's got something I should read, let me know and I'll gladly take a look! :D On the weekend, though, I plan on getting down to business on  befedelbumps's moment. And, so yeah. Well, what to say? I'm still sleepee, so bear with me. Currently I'm working on two things. First and foremost, the next in the Moment series, which shall belong to  befedelbumps. It is the moment you realize what you really want. That sounds pretty nice so far! It's kinda still in the conceptualization phase. I'm expecting to get struck by lightning and get a solid gold idea for making this work really well any moment now. It's happened two weeks in a row, so why not a third?

*yaaaawn* Now for the second, I'm picking and poking away at an idea I started sorta halfway through last month. It's kind of a *yaaawn* thing. It involves stuff. I should goback to bed. But anyway, it came about because I wanted to write a "bus" story. I shall *yaaawn* elaborate. There have been several stories I've read over the years that involve buses, airports, airplanes, etc. that have involved very big furs, or people, crammed in next to someone when they don't fit. Or shouldn't fit, anyway. *yaaawn* ... *yaaawn* I've always wanted to write one of these stories, so I'm working on one, picking and poking away at it. It's kinda like a patchwork quilt where I add on a little every time I think of something else good that should go in. I'm getting halfways done on this thing, too.

Also, there's Heracles and Volimari II. I'm waiting for lightning to hit me in that case, too, but I've got lots to work on and lots of free time to do it, so rest assured that things will be produced here. It's just a matter of time and holding off the urge to go off the deep end and play the new Sly Cooper day and night.

I'm actually really looking forward to writing tonight! I should complete the rough copy of One Moment -  dragontzin this evening. It's been moving right along this week as I've kinda worked sorta back to front on it. If it's not done tonight, I've got Saturday evening night set aside to complete, so one way or another it'll be good to go.

So... yeah. I dunno what I'm working on after that. I think I might re-read all the Heracles and Volimari stuff that I've got worked out so far and then move that project forward. However, if anyone else wants a One Moment story, let me know, because as of tonight, hopefully, the the tracks are all clear. Thanks! :D
