A Nice Little Laugh
Posted 12 years agoOn April 27th, I bought a new car. It's a little Mercury Tracer. I bought it knowing some things were wrong, IE, it needed a new battery, and the transmission is toast. So I put my insurance on it, inspected it, and realized: It still has a loan on it, and I thought I would just be able to assume the loan and have my buddy pay off the rest of what he owed on it. Nope. So, I've lost the better part of $100 (This month's insurance, $65, $12 inspection fee, plus the $30 titling fee that not having it in by May 27th will cost), and it's just going to keep accumulating ($30 a month, plus I may have to settle the fucking loan just to get it done and not pay the max fee of $200 if he lets it keep going. -.-) Main thing is, I'm not going to have anybody else's name but mine on my title. I learned a long time ago that everyone else is only out to kick your head in, and I'm not going to let it happen.
Fuck Me. I hope you all have a good laugh at my expense :]

Monday Evening Shakedown Cruise
Posted 13 years agoI've been debating this for a little while. Would anyone here be interested in listening to some country music over stream, or perhaps participating? Just curious, my local friends do this on Thursday nights, and it'd be nice to do it more often.
Thank You.
Posted 13 years agoThank you to my friends, both close and far away.
Thank you to my family and friends who serve and have once served the United States Military.
Thank you to the Lord for whom made things, and made them as they are.
Thank you to the scientists for whom I owe much of the foundation of my life.
Thank you to the politicians who, in their fits of selflessness, help our country.
Thank you to my family, of whom I love forever.
Thank you to my mate.
Have a good thanksgiving, everybody, and make sure to give thanks.
If you'll excuse me, I smell cherry tobacco and turkey, it's time to grab up the knife and fork.

Birthday, Fixing iPods/iPhones/Touch thingies.
Posted 13 years agoSo, yeah. June 16th, another day where I age another year. I love it! I love having an excuse to make cheesecake, meatloaf, and then go ride around in my '89 Chevy Silverado 1500. Any excuse to go play with the 350 is fun, but this means a bit more. A bit. Gonna' get a pipe so I can burn charcoal in it and have on-demand source of flames for soldering.
Also! Thinking about fixing the broken screens/broken whatevers on phones and stuff. What got me into this? Bought a broken iPod 2nd gen, it's so fun to fix!!!
Anyways, later ya'lls!

So ... Adam's Song.
Posted 13 years agoI'm thinking about taking a break from country. Anybody think I can pull off Blink 182- "Adam's Song?" Or REO Speedwagon's "Take it on the Run"? I'd like some feedback. And, well, does anybody listen to the stuff? XD
SOPA/PIPA nonsense
Posted 13 years agoI'm seeing way too much of this nonsense. Wanna' know an interesting idea? ... Well, tough, I wouldn't advise further reading. A) Part of the issue is that we downloaded too much "stuff". B) People are naturally greedy. C) I'm going to use this as an excuse to throw my political views. Hence, stop reading now.
A) I'm not criticizing anybody of anything, nor am I going to be mean-people have a tough time sometimes parting with money. Therefore, we're not likely, if given the choice between a free copy and a $20 item that should maybe be, at most, $2, to pull that $20 and hand it over. I'm guilty of this, too-that mentality of, "Eurgh ... I have a copy of Win2k. I think I'll just go ahead and throw it on this lappie. I dunno if I still have a license, can't remember if I used it before ..." is just so easy to take.
B) Recording industries say that the people they represent are going to lose money. My response is short and simple: Bullshit. Give your people some of the dough you roll in. Also, people need to be more independent: How did Randy Travis get his start? Hint: Look up the album "Randy Ray: Live at the Nashville Palace." A lot of people have been "indies". I respect those people-it's not "stickin' it to the man", it is retaining some form of individual freedom. It's more work, but pays off.
C) I'm a Libertarian: Here's what I think of government. Here's some money, go build an army, help deal with criminals, deal with other countries. Then, fuck off. We DON'T FUCKING NEED GOVERNMENT in EVERY ASPECT of our DAMN LIVES. Privatize shit. Make industry look after itself-I'm not supporting full lassez-faire, but hell, if you are too stupid to do something right, you're ass is going to go under! I can argue for hours, but I don't want to.
Short and simply: I don't mean to rant, I just really badly hate this situation. The internet is my home, I hate coming home to a bullshit fest.
PS: Artists who support SOPA because "I don't want my work stolen!!!! BAW!" ... And I mean the artists who do stuff for free. People can and will be assholes. People also like shinies, and like to promote your work, too, some people actually do have good hearts. Lay off, or get aggressive-We're already in a litigation based society. Sue. Or, ask the content provider, as outlined under DCMA, to please make it go away.
CAUTION: DISCLAIMER! I'm a negative person. But I have to believe in the best of humanity, or I have nothing else to live for. Please don't flame me. Be safe, and much love to everyone.

Yay Christmas!!
Posted 14 years agoI love the chance to play "It's Christmas At Ground Zero" and pull out my Geiger counter and small Americium sample |3 Scares the crap out of people. In other news: Merry Christmas, remember the reason!
Musical musings ...
Posted 14 years agoMy current favourite songs are "I Just Destroyed the World I'm Living In" and "Play Me The Waltz of the Angels", because of the way the steel guitarist manipulates the chorus hall effects to make the steel guitar sound so ghostly, far away, and high. Which reminds me ... someone needs to come beat the crap out of me until I practice steel guitar for 2 hours a day. XD Also, I really need to jam with somebody, my guitar skills are getting as rusty as my strings.
Anybody wanna' join together somewhere for an online jam?
Posted 14 years agoAs most of you all know, I hate moping, I hate it even more when I really am stuck, and can't do much for it. This time around it's not so big a deal, but I still can't do much. Anybody wanna' hang around and pick some guitar on TS3/Skype/somewhere with me?
Hmm ...
Posted 14 years agoOh God ... it's happening again. Once again, I've not changed near enough, gotten good enough, whatever the FUCK is wrong with me. I'm just never fucking GOOD enough. And once again, it seems I'm too late. I feel like my life is stuck in Neutral. Maybe continuing on with the car metaphors, I should just stick my head into the engine fan and be done with this god dammed hell hole.
Once again, I think maybe I have overreacted ... I'm sorry ... Just paranoid, and nutso, me.

Biology References.
Posted 14 years agoWhy do I feel like an enzyme all the time? I mean, seriously. So far I have been adept at one thing. I bring people together for a short period of time, I bind them, then they never speak to me again. I'm uninteresting, plain, and I play a dieing breed of music on my guitar, that not even other rednecks still listen to. What the hell is wrong with me? It's funny that on FA, I have few watchers, because ... I just can't do anything. Most of you guys are truly my friends, and I'm thankful for that. So I really need to be more social. Maybe by that point I can start to work better and be smarter about things. I dunno. I try not to rant and go crazy with it, but ... every now and then, I have to.
Random, unrelated question: How many of you actually like/listen to my music? Thinking about just giving that up.

Restless Hearts Afoot!
Posted 14 years agoThe wolf stared out into the yard, and into the driving snow, his unblinking eyes filled with pools of tears. In his teeth was a red rose, dangling out of his mouth, already limp by this point from being hours without water. Closing his eyes, he reached into his pocket, getting the keys, and opening the door to his house. As he opened the door, however, he simply stared from the porch up at the moon, looking listlessly, neither a frown, nor a smile upon his face. His ears were halfway up, his tail was still. Looks like he'd been hit by another fast moving train.
RANT on SiriusXM service
Posted 14 years agoEveryone has, I'm sure, at least listened to XM Radio. I like the fact that they still play the stuff I love, which the only other stations around here that do are C106 (106.1 FM "Coyote Country") and Willie 102 (102.1 FM "Willie Radio".) C106 plays in the following amounts: 40 minutes of commercials, and 20 minutes of music dispersed in per hour, except for 10 PM-4:30 AM, when it becomes 10 minutes commercials, followed by 50 minutes music. Willie 102 has 15 minutes of commercials followed by 45 minutes of music, but I am some 150-odd miles from its source: I live in Cape Girardeau, they broadcast from Paducah, Ken-Tuck. Solution! Buy XM-they have no commercials, and while I don't exactly like the selection, it's better than most of the commercials on C106, and better than static, by far. So ... one $75 receiver later ... I go to get a Wal-mart money card to activate this thing. Low and behold, you can no longer buy this thing via check, and you now HAVE to be 18+, because they strictly enforce the SSN (They no longer give you the option to refuse the main card, with a $3 activation fee.) So screw that, chucked it in the fire, lost $30. Just went over to Best Buy, and bought a $55 SiriusXM prepay card. HOLY SHIT. They want a God Damned Credit Card! Them Greedy fuckers have it in their Terms of Service that after the Prepay card runs out, they will continue to bill you, so you have to have a credit card. WHAT THE FUCK!? ... And people wonder why I spent over $500 in the radio system for my '59 Chevy. It's so I can get Willie 102 WHEREVER I WANT (Range of estimated 175 miles, given my friend's installation in a Ranger). FM is (still) free. Thank God for (small) miracles. I really hope some people choke and die on their money ... "Aww, you've had enough? ... HAVE SOME MORE." >:|

Thanks to some outside help, it's done. God that was a fiasco, but, worth it.

A Thought on Driving - How Not to be Rude.
Posted 14 years ago"But up here in this cab, that's where I'm most alive, I'm a prisoner of the highway ..." *music fades*
Hello, This is old Ozy here, got a word of advice for ya'll.
Driving at night is about the time I'm most alive. Ever since my 1989 Chevrolet, with those green lights blaring me awake, I just love to do it. HOWEVER! This is rapidly changing.
People: If you ever see a Silver 2000's Cavalier Coupe with a huge dent on the passenger door, one mirror, and the words "Silver Streak" scribbled onto the tailgate and front fenders, please, PLEASE, PLEASE! Don't do this:
A) Race me. If you want to race, I'll direct you to the speedway. It's much more fun.
B) Cut out in front of me and then slow down to 15 under. Remember, my front bumper is only a facade that houses a 100 pound iron railroad tie. I'm not afraid to use it.
C) Pull up behind me, try to get me to speed up, and then hit the brights in my face. Same deal with the rear bumper, plus, it hurts! I can't see, and I also have rearward facing, lights, so you will not see, either.
Just remember: You're not the only person that counts. Some of us other pleabs like to drive, too, but not wild and stupid. I just like to move. If you have to be somewhere, or have to be a horrible person, go do it somewhere where you AREN'T affecting others. Please.

Play Me the Waltz of the Angels!
Posted 14 years agoSome days are just great. Cruising down the road in my beat-up Chevy Cavalier, US Highway 61, 77 degrees in Southeast Missouri, blaring C106, the clouds little balls of fluff up in the sky, and just relaxed. A day can't get much better. Work in an hour. Working on a new truck, hopefully gonna' buy a 1986 GMC K1500 4x4, 4.3L V-6, SM465+NP208 Tranny and case, good condition, $750. I can't wait.
BTW, expect new music soon.
First song to expect, "The Derailers-Play Me the Waltz of the Angels".

Posted 14 years agoWOO! Go for it! Celebrating B-day a day early, so I get to go by the local music store (Shivelbine's) and oogle at the (1-2) steel guitars and the (2-5) Fender Telecasters! Also, I will probably be driving tonight, seeing as my family may be doing the topic's suggestion X3

My tires carry me away-but in my Mind I'm always goin' home.
Posted 14 years agoIt's final. The last interpretation of my Great-grandmother's trust, which the judge put out as a fallback in case the trust was broken, which my bastard aunts did, has been spoken, and it is final. If my grandfather dies, my aunts will get the house, and kick us out of the farm. The farm is the thing I have been living for for years ... The house is the place I will always dream of. But it doesn't matter. If my grandfather dies, I'm going to get out my flame torch and burn the farm to the ground. Then, I will sow the ground with salt. The burn the tractors. When I get done, this place will be worth nothing. This is, of course, if my grandfather dies ... please pray with me he doesn't. I love that man, but ... he will never take care of himself, no matter how much we try to make him ... He's been my inspiration for so long, and all I can say is I truly love him as a best friend. But if he goes, I will have to disrespect one thing he taught me, "Never cheat anyone, and never go for revenge."
