Journal Clearing
Posted 3 years agoJust simply updating this journal here so I can get that...almost 8 year old one off the page! Primarily just using this site to browse around and find some cool art and artists nowadays. I might start posting stuff again if I get a creative jolt in my brain once again!

MFF 2014!
Posted 11 years agoWell hello to all! I am very happy to announce that I am going to my very first MFF or Midwest Furfest this year! I have heard nothing but amazing things about this convention so I am unbelievably pumped for it. Since it is the first time going I guess I could also do the traditional meme associated with cons, so here it is!
Where are you staying?
The main hotel!
What day are you getting there?
Wednesday morning, I expect to be getting no sleep the night before >.>
How are you traveling?
I am flying in one those airplane things, haven't flown in 3 years so this will be interesting.
Who will you be rooming with?
These awesome people!
flacier
kevshepherd
rubycanine
germanpup
How is the best way to find you?
Keep on the thing that tweets and twats! Follow me there to try to figure out what the heck I am doing shadowyredwolf
Are there any panels you might be attending?
Not quite sure yet, I will probably decided once I am there.
What do you look like?
A skinny nerdy guy that wears glasses, other then that, a very fluffy and derpy red wolf.
Will you be suiting?
Is this a question? Of course I will! Second time suiting a convention so expect to see a fluff wolf running around a lot!
Do you do free art?
Nope! But I can give hugs!
Do you do trades?
If I can't draw, doubt I could do a trade =P
Do you do badges?
Hmm...this seems a bit redundant >.>
What is your gender?
I be a boy!
How tall are you?
Around 5'10-5'11 so not too tall
Can I talk to you?
Please do! I am trying my best to get over my shyness so any kind of conversations would help!~<3
Can I touch you?
Permission must be asked first.
Can I visit your room?
Ask me first and then I will make sure it is okay with my roommate who owns the room but if you know both of us, feel free!
Can I buy you drinks?
Nope! Just one year shy of that still >w>
Can I give you stuff?
Give me all the hugs!
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugs are always welcome!
Snuggles are once we get to know each other a bit more
Are you nice?
Well I haven't scared anyone away quite yet so I would think so! I will leave it up to you though~
Do you have an artist table?
Nope!
Will you be going to parties?
Maybe...I am not much of a party person but we will see what happens
Will you be performing?
In any kind of shows? Nope! But running around the con in fursuit? Yes I most certainly will!
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Just come up and say hi or shout "Derpy Wolf!"
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
I shall be roaming around most any chance I get! Either taking photos or being a silly wolf!
What/where will you be eating?
Well I do know we are getting Giordanno's pizza during the con, but other then that I will have to see~
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
If the group I am with knows you, sure you can join in ^^
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Nah, mainly because I don't have one!
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Hmm...well drawing in it would be a little hard if I don't own one now isn't it?
Can I take your picture?
If I am all fluffy, by all means take all the photos of me! I want to see them all. If I am out of suit I would rather you not, I am pretty camera shy.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
Make this con amazing anyway I can! Hugs, suiting, snuggles, catching up with friends and hopefully meeting new ones! My only goal is to make sure that this first MFF will be absolutely outstanding!

Game Review: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Posted 12 years agoWith the latest inclusion into the Splinter Cell franchise this is my first foray into the world of Sam Fisher and his perilous missions with the 4th Echelon unit. With this being my first time trying out a Splinter Cell game ever I really had no idea what to expect but I am pleased to announce that I have throughly enjoyed this game for what it had to offer.
Presentation:
Blacklist, while it may not be the most prettiest looking game I've played, it is still a very good looking game nonetheless. In this game you travel the around the world, jumping from sweltering deserts to malls and even to a top secret governmental facilities. Each mission is detailed extraordinarily well each with own little tweaks and specific details that really nail the feeling home that you are actually sneaking through a cliff-side village or slinking around the darkened hallways of a VIP's mansion. The variety of scenery is definitely a very welcome feeling as to make the environments never feel really stale. Sadly though that is extent of the beauty that the game has to offer. The character models of each of the main players in the story are to be honest a bit ugly. Each one of them save for Sam and one of the newcomers, Issac Briggs, seems like they have a layer of gel slapped over their faces and with how many times the cut-scenes thrust the character's face onto the screen it kept just making me think there is something wrong with it. Now that we are on the subject of characters, that is another problem with the game for me was that the character's themselves didn't have any real distinct personality differences or even have any real fleshed out development. Sam Fisher is just another combat hardened military badass that only talks in monotone growl and only very rarely alter's his voice tone in order to speak in a angrier growl when frustrated with the actions of his fellow teammates. The only characters that actually show emotion are side characters that never really got a whole lot of screen time. One of those being newcomer Charlie and then a returning character from an earlier game, I won't say who it is to keep this review spoiler free. I feel like the characters could have shown just a bit more emotion other then rather just a single page of what is very stereotypical character tropes that you would expect from a military story. The story itself also feels like there could have been a lot to be desired for it is very much a typical military based story. America is under attack by new terror force under the name of the Engineers and you as Sam Fisher who is leader of the newly formed 4th Echelon must stop them and that is really it. I will say one good thing about the story is that it doesn't fall back onto the overused trope of Russians being the main baddies and a nuke or two being involved in some way. There is also some very shining moments of the story to where you might think it could be going somewhere really big or add a nice twist but instead it doesn't capitalize on that and just leaves it be.
Gameplay:
While Splinter Cell Blacklist might not hit all the right notes in terms of its presentation, the gameplay however is where the game truly shines. This is by far one of the most fun stealth action game's I've played in a while. The number one thing about this game I really like is that unless you other wise told not to be detected or not to kill anyone, you are never really truly punished with an instant mission failed; the only real punishment is that you will no longer be able to obtain Ghost style points. The game has a scoring system that is used both to award you money in game for you to purchase upgrades for your suit, weapons and also the plane that you use as the main base which is called Paladin. The scoring system itself is broken down into three separate categories depending on what kind of play style you perform while playing a stage. These are known as Ghost, Panther and Assault. Ghost involves you not being detected by hostiles while performing non-lethal takedowns and sometimes just by-passing the enemies in the area all together. Panther involves you remaining undetected but this time killing enemies and using lethal takedowns. Assault is pretty self explanatory to where you go in guns-blazing and give no regard to stealth at all. Each style also has its own point value for each enemy taken down or bypassed with Ghost style netting you the most points while Panther is in the middle range and Assault being the least amount of points. The styles will also switch on the fly depending on how you perform providing a seamless transitions between the different play-styles. In the end though it is really how you would like to the play game and each one works extremely well with Blacklist's controls and cover system, though it is still recommended to play through with stealth in mind though really there is no restriction. That being said, during the times that you do have restrictions on whether you can be detected or not or even knockout/kill hostiles, they are often very short and relatively easy so you won't be pulling your hair out trying to pass by it. Along with the singleplayer missions in which each of them can last up to an hour or shorter depending on how you play you have a variety of sidemissions that you can execute from all of your partners when you are able to walk around Paladin. Each of the missions, except for the Brigg's missions that can only be done in co-op, can be tackled in either singleplayer or co-op with a friend. These missions offer up their own unique awards for you to purchase after their completion. When you aren't performing missions you are able to talk with your partners around the plane base Paladin which acts as the hub so to speak. From there you are able to purchase new weapons for Sam, be able to upgrade his suit and goggles and you are also able to upgrade the plane itself which adds its own little bonus that are applied during missions. Along with all of that the famous multiplayer mode Spies vs. Mercs makes it glorious return in Blacklist. After playing quite a bit of this mode it is definitely a different but very welcomed changed to the multiplayer field. In the gamemode, players are split into two teams of four with one side being Mercs and the other being Spies. It is the Spies job to use their agility and stealth and teamwork to hack three terminals in the map while the Mercs simply defend the terminals at all costs. Gameplay styles differ drastically between the two teams as Spies play just like Sam from the singleplayer game while Mercs take on a first person perspective which grants a very nice feeling of paranoia. As a Spy it is not suggested to take on a Merc in a straight up gunfight as they will often have much more armor aka health then you and will be able to put down a spy in a few rounds. Instead the Spies need to rely on cunning and their agility to close the gap between themselves and the Mercs and kill them with one quick melee move. The gamemode might not be the fastest but the tension it creates when things really heat up is something I haven't felt from a multiplayer experience in a long while. It is definitely worth checking out at least.
The Verdict:
8.5/10
Splinter Cell Blacklist is by far one of the most fun games I've played in a long while. The gameplay is pretty much perfection with the perfect flow between the three different playstyles and the very much welcome back of Spies vs. Mercs, however the story and characters leave quite a lot to be desired seeing as there were so many potential moments that could have been capitalized but were in the end not even touched upon. If you are looking for a fun game to play though to hold you over while you wait for another big release later in the year I would definitely suggest to go pick this game up.
Hope you all enjoyed my review for those who bothered to read it ^^

Megaplex 2013 Recap
Posted 12 years agoMegaplex...where do I begin to even try to describe what was probably one of the best weekends I've ever had? This being my second full convention I would have to say this was probably the best con I've been to yet. FWA was so very amazing but Megaplex just had so much more charm to it, maybe it was the smaller size that made it a lot easier to talk to people or be able to hangout a lot more with my friends then normal, who knows but I will say that it was just legendary in every way!
Now before I start the day recaps! I shall say that I am going to start uploading my photos from the con but don't worry it is no where near as much as FWA with the total being 553, 400 less then FWA XD. So I am just giving the warning you guys right now that will be a lot of photos coming. Okay recap time!
Thursday!
Yes I am counting Thursday as a day seeing as there was a rather big event related to the con itself in the form of free bowling for all Megaplex attendees. I got to the hotel at the beginning of the evening and was pretty much immediately blown away with how nice it was. The staff were so very nice and supportive to us and the con space was huge! It was a much needed and welcomed upgrade after last year. After picking up my badge I ran into
izzywolfram who was already in suit wandering the hotel and hung out with him for a bit before we all geared up to head to the bowling alley. We had rented the entire place out and soon enough it was packed pretty much wall to wall with fursuiters and non-suiters alike. It was glorious fuzzy chaos! I did absolutely horrible at bowling so opted to taking photos of a lot of the suiters that showed up. Though what really made this day special was being able to chat with both
foxamoore and
cerberus at the bowling alley. This probably made my whole con experience just ten times better as they were both the Guests of Honor at our con. They were both such a joy to talk to and I am so very glad and honored to be able to get to know both of you a little bit throughout that night and the rest of the con. I wish though I ran into Foxamoore as many times as I did Tirrel, for some reason I just kept running into him over and over again, I wasn't complaining about it though.
Friday!
The official start of the con...even though I didn't get to the hotel until around 1pm since my room wasn't available until this day but oh well, just a very minor deterrence. This time however when I got to the hotel, the furries were out in fullforce as the con had officially started. I hung around a bit as I was waiting for my roommates to get in, mainly
azulwolfstudios What started as she showed up though was nothing but fun and unbridled chaos! She had just finished two suit commissions and was trying to keep them a secret from the two people that were very eagerly awaiting them. We almost succeeded in keeping everything a secret...almost but we got caught at the end. Oh well it was fun while it lasted. After that I decided to head back down to the con space to wander about when I ran into
thedoggygal in the hallway right outside of the con space and decided to hangout and talk with her a little bit in suit as well get quite a few photos too. For the brief time that I did get to talk to her, I will say that it was very nice and pretty darn fun, wish I was able to run into you more and talk more, maybe next time! I also was able to surprise hug
blueions which was quite adorable to hear his squeaks of surprise. Soon after hanging out with Orlando
toklankitsune came down with his new bodysuit which was probably the biggest highlight of the con for him. And then soon after him, Izzy and
dj_kaiza showed up again and we had a pretty nice time romping throughout the con space, getting photos of him doing this and that. Izzy and Kaiza were probably the two guys I hung out with most throughout the con but that definitely was not a bad thing and it was nice to be able to spend so much time together. We also ran into Tek and
takum again being the adorable couple that they were. The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly and the dances that night were really fun though it could have been a lot better for a few of the DJ's but even still all the sets played were absolutely fantastic!
Saturday!
Saturday started bright and early with the fursuit parade at 11AM! Thankfully I was still able to get a pretty good spot and got some pretty decent photos though the lighting was pretty bad and my flash could only do so much. We had a total of 185 suiters in the parade that morning which was quite the increase from last year and it was so awesome to see so many different suits. Turns out I picked out a rather perfect spot for standing during the parade for I was right next to
kagemushi. After the parade finished a little crowd gathered and we started to talk to him and eventually had a little mini Uncle Kage Story Hour happen near the bar of the hotel. Soon after I headed out to Crackerbarrel for a late breakfast with Izzy, Kaiza, Toki and
neo-reveng. Bemani it was really awesome getting to know you a bit this con and be able to spend some time together. After returning to the hotel it was pretty quiet as most people were getting ready for the dance competition. But before that even happened it was time for the Japanese Game Show Experience hosted by by Ryuu. This being my first time watching the show, it was absolutely hilarious and I'm glad I was able to watch the Tale of the Burnt Rice live. Soon after that however was the dance comp. This time however I was helping out Bemani with filming for his Youtube and even with his camera dying close to the end, we managed out well with my own camera and all the videos came out wonderfully so please go check them out when you can! All of the dancers did an absolutely amazing job and it was nice to get a fresh new batch of faces. Saturday night though was when things got really crazy. After getting back from dinner with Izzy and them I was wandering about inadvertly with Bemani for a little bit before splitting up briefly. Back at the con space I ran into Orlando once again as I waiting for the Foxamoore concert to start. Soon after that one of the main events let out right as Izzy,
cyrilwolf,
scionix32 and
ratherdashing1121 came down in suit and it was just madness, fun fursuiting madness. The Foxamoore concert was absolutely amazing and it was wonderful to see him perform live. Then came the dances...holy shit those were insane. That night both Kaiza and Dashing were DJing and we did the best we could to get biggest crowds we could to the sets. It turned into a insane rave, where during Kaiza's set the whole crowd was actually able to move the entire dance floor five feet to the right...it was a thing of beauty.
Sunday!
Sunday was certainly an interesting day to say the least, not too much happened as everything was winding down but it was still a fun day nonetheless. Not too much to say about today except I had another really nice conversation with both Izzy and Tirrel, an unbelievable Wendy's fiasco, my first time eating at a Chipotle and having an absolute blast at Kaiza's deaddog dance!
Megaplex, I can't wait for next year to be even more kickass then it was this year. This weekend will be remembered for the longest time.
Photos will be coming soon so watchers consider this your warning!!!

Megaplex, I can't wait for next year to be even more kickass then it was this year. This weekend will be remembered for the longest time.
Photos will be coming soon so watchers consider this your warning!!!

Game Review: The Last of Us
Posted 12 years agoWell I lied about what my next game review was going to be but now I've come back with my most anticipated game since the very first trailer was shown off a few years ago and now it is finally here. This game isn't really a game but more of a experience about survival in a post pandemic USA. The Last of Us goes far beyond what I expected in every aspect from presentation to the game-play. If you own a PS3 this is not one to miss.
Presentation:
Developer Naughty Dog has been known to push the limits of their graphical capabilities and this game is no exception to it. The Last of Us's world is beautiful, sweeping, atmospheric and at times downright terrifying. Broken and ruined cities are slowly allowing nature to reclaim the land as foliage climbs up walls, leaves jut out through cracks and fields of grass spread along the roads. The post-pandemic world is not a bleak one but is filled with life both natural and dangerous. There are some places were even the people living beyond the safety of the quarantine zone walls don't dare tread. Within the beauty of nature retaking what was rightfully their's, dark damp corners house the most dangerous threats in the new world, the infected. Now before everyone starts saying this is just another zombie game, these infected are not zombies at all. Naughty Dog has actually based the infected off a real life fungus known as Cordyceps and this the imaginative world of what might happen if the fungus had mutated to the point where it could infect humans. In this world, the entire planet has been devastated by fungus and now only small pockets of humanity remain. The infection in the world spreads through two ways, either by being bitten by the infected or breathing in the spores released from carcasses of recently deceased hosts. The Last of Us also boasts probably the best sound design ever heard in a game. Abandoned buildings creak and groan, rain patters and dims as you enter a sheltered area, footsteps echo within deserted tunnels and subway stations. The moans and cries and dread clicks of the infected ring loudly throughout creating a tense and downright terrifying atmosphere in some parts. Diving into a building you think is safe only to hear a sudden pained and haunting howl of a runner or even worse the clicking and ticking from one of the most terrifying enemies in games, the Clickers. The atmosphere of the game is something that other horror or survival games should take note of. I never felt like I was prepared for what was lurking around the next corner even as my arsenal grew. This meant that every encounter with some kind of hostile was tense and created a wonderful and perfect blend of in-tenseness and calm with each new situation. The story is really what sells the deal that makes this world so alive and real. The game begins the infection reaching Joel's town and chaos as people try to flee soon overtakes the populace. This sets the mood of the game, this isn't the happy and quirky tale of Uncharted anymore, this is Naughty Dog's attempt at trying to hit home what this kind of scenario could be in real life. They not only hit it home with this take but out of the park. The tale that is told is dark with some light-hearted moments and it is truly something that feels real. I can say that the final act of the story had me almost crying. No other game has made me feel this much emotion before. The character development between Joel and Ellie is some of the best seen in a game as they very slowly but steadily warm up to each other. It is also the difference between each of the two as characters that seem to make them fit so well together. Ellie has never seen the outside world beyond the quarantine zone so everything is new to her and this is shown very well through little conversations you can initiate throughout the game, while Joel on the other hand has lived in the world for 20 years and knows most everything about everything there is to survive. All of the other characters will also make you feel for them whether it is a sympathetic feeling or one of spite, each person you encounter in the world is trying to survive in every way they can. This is realistic and wonderfully woven tale of survival and the ending is one that shall be discussed with friends and one to think about how it impacted you. The story, the atmosphere, the world don't make The Last of Us a game, they make it an experience.
Gameplay:
Well I think I gushed on long enough about the presentation and story, how does the game do gameplay wise? It performs pretty much perfectly. The hud is basically non existent in the game and only appears when a weapon is drawn or you pressed one the buttons of the d-pad to select your weapon. The game has a total of four different weapon ranging from long guns like shotguns and bows, to a variety of pistols and then throw-able weapons such as nail bombs and Molotovs. Now you may think with this many weapons I should be a walking tank right? Wrong, in fact you are dead wrong. Ammo is scarce forcing you to decide and gauge your resources with what you have to decide whether you have enough bullets to blast your way through or try to play it up stealthily. Be warned if you decide to go in guns blazing you will burn through vital ammo that could become very vital later on so if anything you make sure your shots count. The game encourages a stealth approach to each and every situation that you may be thrust upon, especially when it comes to the Clickers. This stage of the infection has caused the victims to grow a shell like covering over their entire face blinding them completely but that doesn't mean you can't just waltz by them. The Clicker's click, hence the name, using echolocation to search out their next victim and you do not want to be grabbed by these guys for if you do, game over. The encounters with the infected are downright terrifying as there can be a room full of only Clickers but there can also be a mix of both Clicker's but also runners which still have their eyesight and if you make a slip up, it could very much spell your doom. Human enemies are also nothing to take lightly either. They will constantly switch up their patrol patterns if they haven't been able to find anything and if caught, they will do their best to flank and try to catch you by surprise as you are distracted by the enemies directly in front of you. The game's difficulty overall is a fair challenge as I never felt like I got cheated by unfair AI and any mistake that made me get caught was by my hand. Joel is not a Nathan Drake either and cannot just sponge up bullets and in fact will die very fast if left out in the open. This is also where the realism of the game comes back into play. Joel will stagger after getting shot, react appropriately to a punch and if they are all timed together, it can lead to your demise very quickly. This rule though also applies to the enemies and will react accurately to any damage received. The combat is also very brutal, especially the melee, giving a fast but brutal take down every time. Scavenging is also a very important part to the game as you are on the constant lookout for supplies that will allow you to craft a variety of things from Shivs to Med-packs. Items are littered everywhere in the world as long as you know where to look. You will also come across many different random parts that are used to upgrade your weapons at workbenches. You will also come across supplements in the form of pills or potted flowers that are used to upgrade Joel's own abilities one of which being the most help, Listening mode. Holding down the R2 button allows Joel to focus his hearing and be able to spot enemies that walking behind walls or hiding behind cover. Also when managing your inventory or crafting weapons right from your pack, along with looking at collectibles, the game never pauses so if you need to make something in the middle of combat you better find yourself a very good hiding spot before you try to make something that could benefit you. The whole entirety of the singe player campaign will take you around 13-15 hours to complete your first time through, but the whole time you are entertained and it never felt like that any part was dragging or taking too long. There is also a multiplayer component to the game which is known as Factions. At the very beginning you choose between either Hunter or Firefly and then go compete with the other faction. This part of the game however though sticks right with the survival tone of the entire game for as you battle, you will also compete to gather supplies in order to make your faction more popular and thus gain more members. It is a very fun and very well done addition to an already fantastic single player.
The Verdict:
10/10
Naughty Dog has struck gold again with The Last of Us. It is a masterpiece in every aspect from the tight and tense gameplay to the gorgeous and real world down to some of the best developed characters that came from a video game. If you own a Ps3 this game is not to be missed or else you will be missing out on a masterpiece. This isn't just a game, this is an experience.
Hope you enjoyed this long as heck review and I will try to have my next one come up a lot sooner then later ^^

Summer Times and Vote Time
Posted 12 years agoYup I back in the boring town of Melbourne once again for the summer and I am going to say that I am missing Orlando and all you fuzzies there horribly. You guys are some of the greatest people I've ever met and I am going to say that this summer can't go by fast enough so that I can get back to Orlando.
But yeah I am back home so I will probably have a bit more time to get back to doing game reviews and what not. So in light of that I have just recently finished playing God of War Ascension, Bioshock Infinite and Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal. I would like to hear from you guys about what game to review first. I will eventually get to all of them but I was curious as to what review you guys would like to read about more ^^
Please leave your vote in the comments below and I will get to it as soon as I can.
Also I can't believe my birthday is already coming up on this Tuesday O.O
Where the heck did the time go? It is moving too fast for this wolf.
Well leave your votes in the comments below and I will get to reviewing as soon as possible ^^

Thank you all so very much~
Posted 12 years agoThis is a journal all about the thank yous!
Wow...close to three weeks ago FWA ended and my picture spam of your inboxes began and almost immediately I was blown away from the massive amounts of favorites and watches that started to flood my inbox. I tried my best to keep up with thanking for the avalanche of favorites but it just got to the point where they were coming too fast for me to keep up. So now I thank every single one of you who enjoyed the photos as much as I did. It really means a lot that this many people found some kind of happiness from my photos and that makes me really happy.
Also another thank you to everyone that has watched me as well. Over 200 watchers I have now and I definitely didn't see it coming in the slightest. You are all amazing and I feel honored to have each and every one of my watchers following me for whatever I produce.
Thank you everyone once again, it has been an absolute blast and I hope I can continue to make you all happy with whatever I come out with next ^^
Oh yeah, one last thing, since my MSN has pretty much just start to fail on me, I'm moving over to Skype now so if you would like to chat there, just send a request to shadowpack123 and I will get back to you as soon as I can ^^

Post FWA Report!
Posted 12 years agoI have finally returned the sun shiny state after spending probably what was the best weekend I have ever had yet at FWA up in Atlanta. Wow...just wow, I am not going to be forgetting anything that happened there for a very long time! Thanks to all of you fuzzies and volunteers that made this con just an absolute blast to go to and I am looking forward to next year.
Wednesday:
Yes I am counting this as one of the days since this is the day that I arrived at the con hotel! This day started at about 3am with the long and enduring drive up to Atlanta with
and Muffy. Even though it was super early and we were driving until pretty much midday, it was totally worth getting there a day early in order to get a feel for the hotel/conspace. Saying this right now this hotel, The Westin Peachtree, was absolutely massive with a total of 73 floors. After getting our room situated we took a small tour of the hotel which included a ride up in the glass elevator all the way up to the 72 floor. An absolutely breath taking view from up there. After that Azul decided it was time to suit up and become the first fursuiter at the con and to my knowledge she was and I have photograph proof. Though
was very close to being first, maybe next time buddy.
also was walking around for a bit too and man oh man did he live up to his nickname of the cotton candy husky though he tried to deny it. Not too much else happened for that day except for our other roommates showing up and the furs starting to invade.
Thursday:
Things definitely started to heat up on this day. I started early with needing to get up in order to meet an old friend from Megaplex
and also
who is just as awesome. Guys I am going to say this now, it was the best hanging with you this con. Alec it was wonderful to catch up and get to just finally have a chance to get to know you a bit better. Enigma it was a joy to get to know you as well and I really hope we have a chance to chill together in the future whether at a another con or not. Turns out I would spend most of the con wandering around with one of these two and it was just a blast to. Still pretty quiet in the morning through midday as many furs were still arriving. Soon enough it was time for myself to get all registered in andl let the joys of the pre-reg wait line began. It was pretty long but thankfully there were some fursuiters walking around providing some happiness for us while we waited like
(aka Tekotter)
and a few others. Though I would have to say the free Muscle Milk was undoubtedly the most entertaining thing while we waited as Alec went a little crazy with it, video to come later. But that spawned a running joke throughout the rest of the con as Jefferson Steelflex was born! This was also the beginning of "elevatorcon" as we quickly realized that the elevators were not designed to handle the mass amount of people at once in the hotel. That was really the only majorly persistent problem throughout the entire con but eventually we learned tricks such as "Staircon." Thursday didn't have too much going on as most people were still getting themselves situated but by the time the dances came around it was definitely a lot more lively.
threw down an absolutely pulse pounding set along with all the DJs that night.
Friday:
I think somebody should have taken my camera that day because something impulsed me to take as many photos as I could which rounded out to be around 301 photos >.> but anyways all of those things aside, this was definitely when the con was in full swing as fuzzies and friends littered each and every hallway. I spent most of the day once again wandering about with Alec and Enigma which wasn't a problem with me for I got to meet up with a lot of furs that I probably wouldn't have normally. It was pretty much just craziness everywhere and nowhere was really safe. Sadly I wasn't able to make it any of the panels or the fursuit games but next time I will definitely try to make it to the games at least. It's kinda hard to single out many significant happenings on these days since they went by in such fast blurs but one thing I do remember was Takum's set that night for the dance. He blew the roof off with his set and probably had the biggest crowd of people there yet. It was quite a sight to be able to sit on the main stage and just see this massive crowd of people jumping, dancing and doing whatever else they wanted. Saying this right now if you go to a con and you see Takum as one of the DJ's for a dance make sure you get your fuzzy butt to it for you will not regret it in the slightest. I know I didn't.
Saturday:
This was the day that almost killed my camera but thankfully it lived long enough to get what I needed down on video. Saturday was the day of the parade and me being my normal self. I almost slept in to where I wouldn't have been able to get a good spot for it. Thankfully I managed to make it down as all the fursuiters had to started to crowd around the doors to main ballroom, which was the main events/dance location. Soon enough the group photo was shot and the parade went on its way. It was a pretty short route but considering how the conspace was on a total of 5 different floors it was the best they could do and man there were a lot of suiters there. I didn't get an exact number of suiters but I want to say it was around 500 or so. It quieted down for a while after that but it didn't last long for the St. Patricks Day parade was going on almost right after our parade finished! Quite a few suiters were outside getting pictures with the green clad patrons of Atlanta before they had to scurry back inside to cool off. Soon after that was Floor Wars and my goodness was that quite a spectacle to watch. I am going to say though I did enjoy the shoe twirling dance that Four did was probably the best dance there. From there it was onto the Dance Competition. A huge thank you to Alakai to saving me a seat right up in the front row so I could film. The Dance Comp blew my mind and major props to all of the dancers that put on an amazing show. A lot of unique and creative dances this time around and thankfully my camera managed to power through it and record the entire thing pretty much except for the judge's decision on the winners. Those videos will be uploaded at a later date which I will post a journal here to let you all know.
Sunday:
The last day of the con but that doesn't mean it was any less excited as the rest. It started out pretty slow though and I found myself in the game room for most of the day as I got sucked into watching the MvC3 tournament which
just dominated everybody with no mercy shown. Almost immediately after that was done I ran into
who was just wandering about as well. He came into the game room and started to give some "pep talks" to the League of Legend players. It was about then I noticed a large group of suiters heading out of the lobby and quickly shouted to Izzy that we should go see what was going on. Apparently it was fursuit walk into the city for a little while with quite a few suiters such as
and many others. Also Revit was running around with his camera so I may have wound up in his FWA video by accident >.>
On the way back to the hotel though, things started to get a bit strange at least. By the time we got back to the hotel there must have been at least two ambulances, a firetruck, and 10 cop cars out front with the whole street blocked off. Apparently somebody called about a hurt police officer in the hotel but it turned out to be a prank call or something, who knows. In my opinion I believe might have swatted us but oh well, it didn't put too much of a damper on things. By this time closing ceremonies had begun and on my way to it I ran into, Takum, Tek,
, and Dashing once again. I joined them for dinner and then spent the last of con with Tek and he wound up being the last two photos of the con that I took.
All in all, FWA was just amazing in every which way possible, even with the horrid elevators and unorthodox conspace, the staff made it all work so well. I had such a blast and I know I will be getting my fuzzy butt there next year but for now I have many photos to upload from the days so be prepared!

All in all, FWA was just amazing in every which way possible, even with the horrid elevators and unorthodox conspace, the staff made it all work so well. I had such a blast and I know I will be getting my fuzzy butt there next year but for now I have many photos to upload from the days so be prepared!
FWA!!!

Game Review: Need For Speed Most Wanted
Posted 12 years agoI am not a huge fan of the racing genre in gaming but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy driving like a maniac down highways. I essentially grew up with Mario Kart 64 back in the day so my exposure to the genre was quite early. Since then I have expanded out into the Burnout series (Burnout 3 Takedown is still my favorite racing game ^^) and most recently the Need for Speed series after development started to be handle by the same team that had done the Burnout series, Criterion. I was a bit on the fence with deciding whether or not to pick up Most Wanted after the previous game, Hot Pursuit infuriated me to no end thanks to unfair rubberband AI on both cops and other racers and just due to the fact you need to run each race perfectly or else you lose essentially. I can say now though, Need for Speed Most Wanted is one of the best racing games I have ever played.
Presentation:
Most Wanted is quite a good looking game as racing games go. The details on all the available cars for you to drive are sleek and polished making you just want to swivel the camera around your car so you just admire it before you smash it one of the many pedestrian cars, buildings and trees scattered throughout the city of Fairhaven. Fairhaven is the open/sandbox world of Most Wanted and it allows you to drive pretty much everywhere that your heart desires. You zoom by towering skyscrapers, climb tall and senic mountain ranges, drift through an abandoned airport or reach breakneck speeds along the main highway. Each main area of the game also has its own unique style and landmarks which allows you to find your way around the vast city quite easily. The music in the game is also very fitting for its style and I found myself often bobbing my head to almost all the tracks. However there is no original score at all for the game which had me a little disappointed but the selected tracks were good enough to fit the mood. The only real problem I had with the game in this subject was that the pedestrian cars that just drive around the city only seem to drive the same type of car and it would have been nice to seem some variety and there is also some minor problems with the game loading the next area if you are driving too fast into it.
Gameplay:
This is where a racing game will make it or break it for me and it all comes down to one little detail, rubberband AI. Rubberband AI is the scourge of the racing genre and for those who don't know what this means, this is a term used when the AI is programmed to get an unbelievably fast boost in their speed in order to catch up and almost every time overtake the player. This can lead to some very infuriating moments where you are running a race perfectly, way ahead of the AI as the finish line is in sight and then all of a sudden an AI racer zooms by you at the last second, blowing you out of the water. This one thing kept me on the fence for this game and now after I've played through, this is one game where the rubberband AI is actually done very well. When you find a new car that is hidden throughout the city you are giving a list of preset races under the Easydrive menu. In this list of races there are two of each type of difficulty, easy, medium and hard. Each level of difficulty is handled pretty much perfectly as both the races get longer and the AI gets tougher to beat. The only real problem I had with rubberband AI in this game is during the Hard races and during the Ambush events. During Hard races the AI is pretty fair throughout the entire race until the end however. If there is a enemy racer on your minimap as the finish line is in sight, they will suddenly get that miracle speed boost and unless you have a full nitro bar you can kiss your victory goodbye. Ambush is also very hard and sometimes unfair event in which the player is tasked with escaping the cops. Most of the time you encounter cops is when you driving freely throughout the city and they are pretty easy to shake off unless you accumulate a very high heat level. The Ambush events will usually start you at a level 3 heat which is the middle of the 6 levels. Escaping from the cops to enter cooldown is hard challenge as is for the cops have the rubberband AI that we all love to hate, the kind that just doesn't ever stop being on your rear bumper. Even after entering cooldown mode sometimes the cops will spawn in front of the player thus having you repeat the whole process once again. Thankfully completing these events aren't necessary at all so they can be skipped with no consequence. Finishing a race in 1st or 2nd place unlocks upgrades for your car which adds its own bonuses and disadvantages which adds a nice little level of customization to your car. The mulitplayer aspect of the game is also very well done mixing up a variety of different races, challenges and speedtests which take you all over the city and it is randomized to the point where every different speedlist is something new to experience. Besides racing though you are able to drive around the city freely as you hunt down other new cars, smash billboards or set new blistering speeds on one of the many speed cameras in the city.
Verdict/Score: 9/10
Need for Speed Most Wanted is one of the best racing games to have come out in the recent years and has got me excited for more entry's into the series. There are few problems with the loading of the game and also some very bad instances of rubberband AI essentially cheating their way to victory but those instances come few and far between. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the racing genre and also to those who are looking to get into this style of game.
Hope you enjoyed the review, next up on the list once I buy and beat the game, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

For anyone that did have my number, I am hoping to get a replacement as soon as I possibly can so until then, the only way to reach me would be on Skype. I hope that a replacement will be able to be acquired tomorrow. Just giving everyone a headsup
Ugh my luck with technology >.<

Who will you be with?
Hmm well I will probably wandering about with

Where will you be? How is the best way to find you?
I will try my best to be everywhere and the best way to find me would be to look for a nerdy looking kid with glasses, with a camera around his neck.
What do you look like?
A skinny, nerdy looking young guy with glasses with a camera slung around his neck.
What is your gender?
Male
How old are you?
18
Are you mated/in a relationship?
Nope very much single
How tall are you?
About 5'10 or so
Can I talk to you?
Sure I would love to meet more fuzzies ^^ Be warned I am quite a shy woof but I will try my best not to be as shy as I am normally

Which suit(s) will you be bringing?
I don't any yet sadly >.<
Can I try on your suit?
Nope mainly because I don't have one!

Game Review: Journey
Posted 12 years agoThis is going to be a little something new that I am going to start, game review journals. I love games and lately I have been starting to review games on my own while I play them. Instead of just keeping them a personal thing I will write journals on games that I recently finish to give my thoughts and opinions on them. So to start off this little series of mine I am going to review a masterpiece of both gaming and art, Journey.
This game was suggested to me by
charlieretriever and the sound of it intrigued me along with many other people on the web saying how much of a piece of art this game is.
Journey is definitely a unique game and one of the most emotionally filled experiences that you will get to interact with. Developed by thatgamecompany, who had also produced the award winning game Flower.
Graphics/Sound design/Music:
The first thing that you will notice about Journey are the graphics and visual style of the game. The sands part gracefully at your feet as you run and surf down the many dunes of this world. Sands turn into raging fires as the crimson sun sets. Dark and gloomy hallways give the feeling of dread and haunting as you slink through the underground ruins. Snow and blizzards are blinding as you make a slow but enduring trek up a large mountain. There is much to be said about how the graphics and amazing lighting effects alone are able to set the mood of each area of the game but this would truly not drive the experience home if you were unable to hear the masterful soundtrack. Journey's soundtrack compliments the graphics of the game perfectly as the work in a wondrous harmony and this was also nominated for a Grammy.
Gameplay:
This is a unique game as it was solely built around the objective of emotions and experiences that the player will feel at certain parts of the game and this is exactly what is achieves. However I explain it here will not be able to do it justice for this is one game you truly need to play for yourself in order to feel the full effects of it. The game itself is relatively short but it matters not when the main objective is to evoke the emotions of the player and I can say from my own personal journey through the game that I felt loneliness, frightened, happiness, joy, anger and sadness so profound. I can also say that no other game has ever got me as close to actually tearing up as this one did. The story of the game is very haunting as you decipher and understand what truly happened in this destroyed civilization. This game also has one of the most satisfying ending sequences ever made in a game. Journey is a game that will provide an unforgettable experience of just pure emotion and this is something that few games are able to portray these days which leaves me to believe that this game is just more then a game, it is a masterpiece, it is a work of art that you play.
Final Verdict
Journey is undoubtedly one of the best gaming experiences in 2012 and if you have not been able to play it, please go take the journey yourself through this wondrous and mystical world. It is one that you will not forget.
This is a Do Not Miss title in my books and on a number scale 9.5/10.
I hope you enjoyed reading this and I will try to get better with reviews in the future.
Feel free to leave a comment or two on what you thought of the game if you had the chance to play it

Game of the Year for 2012!
Posted 12 years agoWell I know that I am two days late with this subject but I had just finished up the last nomination for my own little Game of the Year list and now I am ready to announce the winner and the other nominees!
Nominee #1: Max Payne 3
I have to say this game caught me completely off guard. It had peaked my interest a bit when it was first coming out but I didn't bring myself to try it out until recently and now I am regretting about waiting so long to play it. This is the final game to the Max Payne trilogy and Rockstar certainly knows how to end the series with quite a bang. The story follows Max finally trying to get over the loss of his wife and daughter and in doing so he moves to South America to work as bodyguards for a very rich and powerful family, but a simple bodyguard detail quickly turns into something much more drastic and deadly with a few unexpected twists in the mix. The story pulls you in very quickly as things escalate and the characters are very real and believable. The gameplay is very solid and satisfying, especially when that last slow-mo effect for putting the killing bullet through an enemy's brain is very delightful. The game has a reasonable difficulty progression but sometimes it gets very hard in an instant which caught me off guard quite a few times. Even though the story was good and the characters were all wonderfully acted, the only thing that really bugged me about it all was Max himself. Since he is still letting go of his past he monologues about how down on his luck he is and about how much of a so called failure he has titled himself. It does get annoying quite a few hours into the game but it is bearable. The one really major complaint that I have with the game are the many glitches that really take you out of the experience completely. I could be totally engrossed and then suddenly yanked away when Max gets stuck in cover, unable to move or shoot or do anything. Still even with all these flaws this was definitely one of the most stellar titles that came out last year.
Nominee #2: Borderlands 2
I was a huge fan of the first Borderlands and when the second one was announced, I was ecstatic. It was looking fantastic from all the previews and all I could hope for was Gearbox taking the original experience from the first and improving upon everything. Borderlands 2 lived up to the first but also sores far beyond it. Gearbox improved on seemingly everything that was wrong from the first and made it so much better. All the locals of each area are very nicely detailed and a joy to look over sometimes. Most importantly though besides upgraded settings is a very well told story in this one as you take control of one of four new vault hunters, lured in by Handsome Jack so that he can kill you. This quickly turns into a full blown quest to kill Jack and save the planet of Pandora from a very grave threat. The first didn't have much of a story but the sequel comes through with a very well put together tale and the characters that you meet along the way are all extremely memorable. This game also probably introduced me to my favorite villain ever, Handsome Jack. Never have I ever loved but also hated a game character so much as I did Handsome Jack. This game was actually probably the only game that made me get emotional during a few scenes. The gameplay is still as fun as ever with the shoot and loot style but now it is even better. All the character classes are very fairly balanced and offer unique benefits to the player and every single one is a joy to play. Each of the guns now have their own unique personality so to speak as they each have something that is unique to the manufacturer which adds another little level of depth into the looting style. This game was just satisfying all the way through and the ending to this was just so satisfying and gratifying and excites me for what is to come.
Nominee #3: Far Cry 3
The last nominee in this mini list and one of the last games to cross the finish line, coming out very late in last year but it is a game that no one should miss. I just finished playing this yesterday and wow, what a game. This game starts out as what seems like a normal vacation paradise among friends but this is brought crashing down as you play through the eyes of the main character Jason Brody as he and his friends are all captured and being held for ransom before they are sold off to slavery. After a daring escape it is up to Jason to save himself and his friends from the pirates and escape. Insanity is everywhere on the island, from the normal people, to the pirates and even to Jason himself. Throughout the story we slowly start to see Jason move on from a young adult to hasn't killed anyone to a ruthless monster that can kill with ease and almost with happiness. Nothing about the island is normal which makes for the encounters with other main characters always a untrusting moment. You don't know if they are friend or foe and whether they will suddenly turn on you in the blink of an eye. The main villains are also very well done characters though in the order which they are eliminated from the story I wish was the other way. Vaas is very insightful with his words as they do hold a deeper darker meaning but it in those moments when his mood suddenly swings back and forth you really see his insanity come through. Hoyt plays everything out like a game, always making sure to be one step ahead but isn't afraid to take care of things himself. All in all Vaas was the much more interesting villian in this game. The only real complaint that I have with the game is the ending. It wasn't as satisfying as the others on this list and left much to be desired. The gameplay is a wonderfully built FPS open world game. The variety of activities and other things to do on the island is bound to keep you busy when you aren't hunting exoctic animals for various upgrades. Everything works very well and the game is perfectly suited to any style of gameplay, whether you want to be a Rambo or a silent killer. Also many of the missions of the game were very well done and one of them had joined itself into one of my favorite gaming moments ever. All in all, this is a game that no one should miss out on.
And now my winner for Game of the Year for 2012 is......
Borderlands 2!!!
This was a very tough choice as it ultimately came down to Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 is an amazing game but the ending left much to be desired unlike Borderlands 2 which was very satisfying throughout the entire thing and even into the end with a gratifying conclusion. Far Cry, you put up quite a fight but in the end, to me at least, Borderlands 2 came through which a overall more fun experience and complete one too.
So that is my choice but what are your guy's winners for this past year? I am curious to know what you guys think won Game of the Year ^^
