Wait, THAT'S how pegasi fly?
Posted 13 years agoHurricane Fluttershy had some Twilight technobabble. The weird thing is that the technobabble was actually sensical. "This is an anemometer. It measures your accelerative velocity and translates it into wing power, thus gauging your cumulative H2O anti-gravitational potential."
Pegasi apparently use the moisture in the air to fly instead of pushing all the air like real winged creatures. That is actually really smart. If their magic pushes up against the sparse number of H2O molecules normally in the air and lets them fly easily, wouldn't that make clouds pretty much a solid surface to them? I feel kind of dumb for not noticing that before. I guess winged animals do the same thing in the MLP universe, since they can chill out on clouds too.
It also explains how they can use a tornado as a reverse funnel. It's not just the wind, it's their magic pushing the water into the pony-free centre, letting it float freely and making the water shoot up into Cloudsdale through the actual wind force. Otherwise, the water would all be in the same space as the ponies, there would be no shooting action and it wouldn't be very nice to fly in.
Hmmm, now I wonder how dry it has to be to make flying impossible.

Luna in Episode 4
Posted 14 years agoCan't wait! I had a little scrap written involving old-fashioned Luna harvesting wheat on Halloween, but the Halloween-I mean Nightmare Night episode with Luna's made it obsolete! Time to check out what really happens and gape in awe!
My perfect plot for the episode: on Nightmare Night, everypony ends up dressed as Nightmare Moon (Rarity does a spot-on voice impersonation, Stephen Magnet and Derpy buck the trend as Discord) and Twilight has to get the new Nightmares out of sight before they give Luna nightmares. The last fake Nightmare Moon is Luna herself, who can totally take a joke. Celestia with some blue body paint could show up too, as long as her coat ends up pink once the paint washes off. MERCHANDISING!
I might actually write that after the real episode airs.

Drinks: The Pinkie Pie
Posted 14 years agoAfter painstaking research last night, I was inspired to make a drink that really captures the essence of Pinkie. Warm, hyper and crazy. Alcohol's a depressant, so I only added a shot because it makes you feel warm and wacky. Plus, it gives you the courage to drink something called a Pinkie Pie in public. You might want one before you go out, then.
A double shot of espresso
A shot of hot whiskey
2 spoons of sugar, stirred until fully dissolved
Pink cream mixed with a little sugar. Not whipped cream, it has to be just cream with sugar and colouring.
Sprinkles on top.
If you do it right, the heavy cream doesn't mix with the coffee/alcohol and stays on top, defying common sense just like Pinkie. I thought this was a completely new concept, but my friends say that all I did was reinvent the Irish coffee for 6 hours. Still, this is pink!

Dimensional-Travelling Pirates!
Posted 15 years agoI suppose I'm the last to know. Anyways, the next Super Sentai series has been announced. It is Kaizoku Sentai Goukaiger, a pirate-themed series! And it shares the same idea as Kamen Rider Decade: the team can transform into previous seasons' Senshi.
What does this mean? Since SS gets adapted into Power Rangers, we'll be seeing one heck of a PR season in the future!
More importantly, they can go to the universes of the ninja-themed seasons! Ninjas vs pirates, but the pirates can transform into ninja! And both sides have giant robots! What can possibly not be amazing?!!!!????!!! *faint*
