Halloween Party!

I'll be throwing a party to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Wear a costume or be judged harshly! Maybe movies, maybe vidya games. Definitely skeletons. There will even be snacks. :)

Furry Migration: A review
Posted 9 years agoThis last weekend marked Furry Migration's 3rd year. I feel that the con is slowly starting to fill the big shoes of such a grand venue downtown after moving out of the Thunderchicken (R.I.P.)
The con was decent overall. Cut Throat Artist was really quite fantastic! I hope it comes back next year. The hotel is lovely, and of course being downtown provides plenty of night time entertainment.
One thing bothered me that I hope is greatly improved next year: From a fursuiting perspective it was really lackluster. The con space is extremely isolated. There was nowhere to go, nothing to keep people in the con space for any extended period of time. I felt like getting all dressed up was a bit of a waste to make the 200ft walk to the end of the hall and back. Next year the con will be moving from the 4th to the 2nd floor which means the escalator will go directly to the lobby from the con space. There is also an overlook down into the lobby area. It's my hope that that will encourage more fursuits to roam between the con space and the hotel lobby more freely because that's something I really enjoy about furcons. Roaming around as a big fluffy critter.
Looking forward to FM 2017!

Actually there aren't festivities. I'm just cleaning the house and getting taxes done. Going to be owing a lot due to AHCA (thanks Zoobama). By and large a day like any other. I'm just glad I have my house back despite the basement being pretty much trashed after former roomate moved out.
I should probably eat some food and get caffeine now though. Thanks in advance for any well wishes. While I guess I'm not "great" I'm very much OK. <3

I'm going to be doing another Friendsgiving at my home this year. If you're looking for something to do for the holiday rather than spend it alone, please let me know. Turkey and some vegetable foodstuffs will be cooked up, but consider bringing something to share if you'd like.

Calling all "Car People!" Help!
Posted 10 years agoI have a weird issue with my vehicle, and it's not worth the trouble of taking it to a shop to let those witch doctors pressure me into basically rebuilding the entire car to probably not even fix it.
2000 Malibu with a p0442 EVAP code
Here's the history with the problem:
Runs poorly intermittently for a few years now. Some days it's fine, some days it just has a big power loss and hesitates on acceleration. Hasn't gotten 'worse' but no repairs make a difference for better or worse.
- ODB code for the EGR is on. Replaced that, the old EGR had a bad solenoid. Code resolved but now p0442 comes on.
-Replaced gas cap, reset code. p0442 came back and no change.
The symptoms:
-Car runs great on a full tank of gas. It gets to 1/2 full or less and runs noticeably worse. Rougher starting and idling, and seems to lose power and refuse to accelerate more noticeably.
-Car loses power, almost feeling like it'll stall, when driving into strong winds.
Where do I even start in pinpointing the likely sources of these issues?
Extra info: has new plugs & wires and a new fuel filter. Routine maintenance.

Generally speaking I'm no better off now than I was a week ago.. but I actually FEEL like I have a handle on the reins of my life.
Gonna try and hold on to that this year and see how far I can go.

Hey friends! Looking for something to do for Halloween? GREAT! I'm hosting a Halloween party on Friday, October 31st at my home. If you'd like to show up please send me a Note here on FA to RSVP so I know who to expect (Or shoot me a text or twitter message if you know me there!)

If the weather permits there will be a bonfire and we will be Barbecuing. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MEATS
If the weather does NOT permit fire and barbecue, we will be cooking homemade pizza instead! PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TOPPINGS

If you want to bring something not on the list, feel free! We could probably stand to have some liquid consumables. :)

Attention Minneapolis Furs! No Plans For Turkey Day?
Posted 12 years agoMiaka and I will be cooking a turkey dinner Thursday. If you don't have any Thanksgiving plans and don't want to spend the day alone then stop by our place! Just send a note/comment/text and let me know if you're coming. We'll be eating early evening (probably) so swing by anytime in the afternoon.
If you're inclined to do so, bring some kind of food potluck style. Pie is always welcome. We already have turkey, mashed taters, stuffing, frenchie-rolled-up-dough rolls on the list. (OH HO HO.. OUI OUI CROISSANTS)

Posted 12 years agoToday was a good day. Work went well. Commuting went well.
Dinner was delicious. The cake was not a lie.
Got a spiffy hat. Treated myself and got a bottle of rum for a birthday shot. Or two.
Spent some time with friends. For once I don't really want the day to end... alas I'm too sleepy and it's time to hit the hay. Hope everyone who reads this had at least a good day. If you're in the north-central midwest, be safe if you have to brave the storm.
The only downsides to today... I didn't win the lottery. My big order from Bad Dragon wasn't waiting for me when I got home, yet. Oh well!
