So yeah, was in MD and felt that Earthquake everyone is talking about. Shit like that don't normally happen around here, well not since 96' at least. It woke me (as well as two friends) from a sound sleep. (And by sound sleep I had just laid down for a nap around noonish) Best alarm clock right XD

Needless to say I didn't have much time to process things and spent the time of the earthquake I was awake looking around like a scared half asleep deer. Apparently only my sisters boyfriend (who was over) processed what was happening right away and jumped in a doorway. XD

After much headbanging, things have been fixed for the most part.

I can be overly dramatic on a sleep deprived brain. I mean even happy little Raven sometimes feels like spewing forth melodrama after so many things seem to go wrong.

I get knocked down and when finally I have gotten myself back on my feet...the world decides to punch me down even harder. In fact its decided that's not good enough and then proceeds to hold me down and kick me till I twitch. So as a previous journal had stated, my laptop had a critical meltdown resulting in me having to replace the hard drive. Now it functions on some level but I lost the ability to do any sort of serious art work on it because I no longer had photoshop. So I moved on to my desktop who worked rather fine if a bit on the slow side. After a few tests to get used to it again, I found that I could art decently on it and proceeded to finally get myself back on track with art and commissions.

But I have apparently spit in the face of god by doing this. For after using my desktop for a short amount of time with it showing absolutely nothing wrong and having never once done something like blue screen or locking up, has stopped functioning. Last night it did an automatic restart for updates while I wasn't looking, all fine and good I mean computers do that all the time so nothing out of the ordinary. But then as it attempted to come back on.....windows wouldn't activate. Its just decided out of the blue that being a functioning machine is not for it. So I've started attempting to figure out why the sudden change from happy functioning machine to large paperweight.

To make matters worse, unlike my laptop which had many signs of not doing well (so I had actually bothered backing things up for the most part) I rarely backed anything up on my desktop. I mean I had not really been using it at all for years until not long ago, so it never occurred to me to back up all my old school work (Though I'm sure most of that is actually saved on my external somewhere)

So until things are figured out, all art is on hold. You don't know how supremely frustrating this whole situation is, I was finally getting my art groove back. My slump was ending and I was drawing like mad last night. Things were looking up...

But the world said no...


To make matters worse my laptop is on the fritz more then ever, constantly connecting and un-connecting from the internet and refusing to connect at times. Making it hard to even talk to anyone and get anything done.

Its served me well these past few years but I don't think it will be coming back from this latest problem. According to all the digging I've done and the diagnostic I ran it would appear that my hard drive is failing and this is causing nothing but constant blue screens whenever I try to boot it up.

I luckily did a back-up under a month ago but this still means I've got to recover a few things from between then and now. Mostly work on one big commission as well as a story I had been writing. My friend tells me that he should be able to get anything that wasn't yet backed up and being the computer guy that he is I am pretty sure he can.

So things will be a bit slow, I know I haven't been around much and this is just hindering my return further XP

I guess the only thing I'm unsure of how to salvage is my minecraft saves. I'm not sure where they are stored for me to pull them for salvaging XP That's a lot of work to lose right there. A few months worth at least.

Edit: Also I know I have some messages concerning an outstanding fur trade. Don't worry I will get back to you in due time.

(Okay okay, that last stab was partially at Homecoming)

Though its been mentioned in the periphery as of late I have sort of been ignoring it. I was secretly hoping that no..they wouldn't do any more harm to one of my favorite series. But today I decided to finally crack open that book and read the details of this horror.

Now first I will just give my thoughts on the first movie: Mediocre is what I would say. A Mediocre horror action movie under the guise of Silent Hill.

Now back to to this sequel. This time they are tackling Silent Hill 3 (my fav of the entire series so its a double DX for me) and it starts out with Harry and Heather on the run, trying to stay one step ahead of dangerous forces she doesn't quite understand and she is plagued by nightmares. So right off the bat we have the characters (I guess mostly Harry?) knowing shit has gone poo poo and are constantly fleeing. Also that main woman from the first film (named Rose after I decided to look it up) is also in this movie but I'm not sure how she fits in, in any way. Also Harry goes missing so that prompts Heather to do shit and go to Silent hill or some such.

So we don't have them ever settled in a normal life and then shit starts going down, with the death of her father prompting her to go to Silent Hill to discover the truth. Instead the town and the order seem to really organized and persistent this time around, chasing them for 17 years instead of going for that detective business. I should also mention that Detective Douglas is not in this movie.

Also on a side note, Pyramid head is set to be in this movie. I mean it wouldn't be an American Silent Hill production without stuffing him in there somewhere. So what does he do this time around? Well from the looks of things he is taking over for Valtiel (I mean who needs Silent Hills version of a governing angel that is actually a part of The Orders religion and thus has context to be there...lets just jam pyramid head in there.)

But I could pry let a lot of things slide and maybe somewhat enjoy the movie. But its the final thing that I have gleaned that has sealed this movies fate and that is the portrayal of Vincent. Now Vincent is without a doubt one of the best characters in Silent Hill. He was Smug and Manipulative. Making cruel jokes and always just giving us a taste of his knowledge though he obviously knew much more. Using others to do his dirty work and yet still technically he was on your side, giving you hints on how to prevent the birth of god since to him, it wouldn't be 'convenient.'

So Vincent seems like he will be getting more screen-time, helping Heather more (I guess in replacement for Douglas not being around). But its the fact that its hinted that they...that Heather and Vincent... are pry going to end up as a couple at the end of the movie. AEHISIDHGIEJ...WHAT! How do you look at this man and see love interest. How do you take a character that the protagonist hates and turn it around....and WHY D: WHY AMERICAN SILENT HILL MOVIE WRITERS, WHY YOU HAVE TO SHOE-HORN LOVE INTEREST INTO THIS. TT_TT


Now since the movie is not out yet, these things could turn out to be wrong, I'm gonna have to wait and see. You will pry hear my rant and/or review when I do decide to go see it (whenever its suppose to come out in theaters). Also the movie is scheduled to be in 3D...Fuck. (Sorry but I hate 3D movies, they give me a headache)

Though I will say one thing. Robbie the Rabbit stuffed toys were on the set of the movie. If this movie spawns a line of buyable plush Robbies... I will mark it as one good thing making a sequel did. (I will buy the fuck out of that!)

I am trying to remember the name of this furry video game and its making me rage that I can't remember what its called. Its an rpg with furry characters and I remember flying and airships and the main guy being a brown dog of some sort. and one of the really weird wtf ads for it had one character on a sort of toilet? (seriously wtf japan)

No its not Tail Concerto....I already ruled that one out.

When did they become so competent :O

I've been watching through the pokemon Best Wishes episodes (Japanese no english subtitles sadly so I'm not completely sure whats going on but that's what episode summaries are for :D) The two biggest changes I've noticed is that somehow Ash's IQ seems to have dropped a bit...I mean he is the one that made it to high rankings in many pokemon tournaments....why the shit in like the first few episodes is he trying to catch a pokemon without weakening it first (to which he is reprimanded by the new female lead (I call her Misty 2.0 with how much she nags and bitches)) and pikachu seems to suddenly suck and lose to everything....including a newbie trainer and pokemon (I mean it was the guys first battle and he won with little effort, good to see all that training has worked out for you pikachu. And not having your electric powers is no excuse....you've pulled such bullshit before as the Thunder as armor and shocking a Rydon's horn suddenly makes your attacks effective.)

But the second big change is the one that I most welcome and that is the change in Team Rocket. No longer the bumbling idiots whose sole purpose is to come up with wacky schemes in order to try and capture pikachu (making them the whole problem nearly every episode it seems) and then failing miserably and then flying off into the distance. Team Rocket have suddenly become competent individuals that seem like a real threat. Their entire demeanor has changed. Now sporting all black outfits, that is when they are not walking around the region in stylish coats to hide their identity, they have undertaken doing actual missions instead of just relentlessly pursuing pikachu. Most of the episodes they appear in, they are not even part of the main plot, but an ongoing plot of their own. Appearing with other undercover rocket agents, exchanging information and items like true espionage villains. All for some grand scheme that Giovanni has set before them. They have not failed often and the only times they have 'failed' is when they have run into Ash and gang. But instead of being blasted off, when it seems they don't have a chance...they cut their loses and escape in a puff of smoke, denying the hero of truly winning. A few times they even beat the shit out of pikachu and it was up to another pokemon to save him.

On a side note, its good to see meowth actually take initiative and actually attack the foe without hesitation like a real pokemon. Its good to see Team Rocket become a real threat. Also the time they escaped the cops by jumping out of a moving Semi with jet packs was pretty sweet :3 The only thing I don't like about new Team Rocket? Well that would be their new R logo. No sir, I don't like the new weird pointed look of it. Classic Rocket is what I prefer. Giovanni's new outfit is pretty sweet though X3

Now I don't watch alot of TV these days, dedicating myself to a handful of shows....80% are on a network that will be defunct in two months.

So they are replacing the Discovery Health Channel with the Oprah Winfrey Network... why the fuck does Oprah want her own network....and out of all the places why is she taking over the DHC D:

With the exception of The First 48 on TLC and Storm Chasers on Discovery....all my shows are on the DHC, I am a trauma and medical whore. My favorite show is Trauma: Life in the ER (following then with stuff like The Critical Hour and Code Blue....shows they no longer show....So Trauma is the only thing left and its going the way of the dinosaur...why isn't this show on dvd D: ) I also love Dr. G, Untold stories of the ER, Medical Incredible, Impact, Mystery Diagnosis and Skeleton Stories.
