No, its not a new gameshow...
It'll be a sort of 'request' line. I honnestly could use the practice, and I need ideas to exercise my drawing muscles.
So, if you're willing to collaborate, gimme your idea and I'll see what I can do. The result will be a pencil sketch that will greatly contribute for the improivement of my artness.

Anyway, enough with 'emo/aggro' journals or randomness... Tonight I bring you an issue that's been pounding on my head for quite a while, now... Opening a little room for discussion here.

The 'so-called' "Online Dating" fever...
...something that's been increasing considerably since the Internet became a mainstream service, available to everyone in a LOT of ways.
I trust its no news for any of you out there... the story is usually always the same.
Random Person A has some sort of hobby which leads him/her to become a part of some sort of online community or group, interacting with members of said group.
Soon, Random Person A finds himself/herself feeling 'mysteriously' attracted to someone he/she has never even met in person. This leads to Random Person A and Random Person B to start interacting as intimately as the geographic distance between the two of them allows.
This 'behavior' may take on a considerable number of actions, including but not limited to:
- chat 'flirting', usually on public chatrooms or using any of the 'many' Instant Messaging services available;
- exchanging casual, provocative or even 'erotic' photos and/or video clips, in order to 'get to meet' each other;
- text-Roleplaying romantic and/or sexual encounters a.k.a. RPing a.k.a. sex-chat a.k.a. 'Yiffing', etc. etc.
- Roleplaying romantic and/or sexual encounters through some kind of online virtual reality environment ( SecondLife, WorldsAway, Furcadia, Habbo, etc. etc. )
- PhoneSex, which has been made easier than ever by the inclusion of free peer-to-peer voice-chat on IM programs, or by using dedicated voice-chat services like Skype
- CamSex, made easier by the including video-chat funtions on IM services as well.
- ...and whatever crosses the minds of two people set apart by fate and geography but bonded and drawn together by something a 'little' stronger...

Mind you, I'm not even 'trying' to criticise online relationships... those who know me well enough know that I'd be one Hypocrite SonofaBitch if I 'did'...
I'm just curious about the 'why' part...
Why do online interactions become so intense after a relatively short time?
Why does it seem that these online 'affairs' become 'much' more intense than they would in 'real life'?
Why is it (and this is for you 'SecondLifers' out there) do people start saying "Oh, you're so sexy" "Oh, you're so beautiful" when all you can see sometimes is a bunch of textured and 3D-engineered PIXELS? (Yes, cuz most people that go to SecondLife don't really show their 'real' face to others)
Once again, don't take me wrong... As far as the whole online relation thing is concerned... Been there, done that... probably gonna be there again, someday...
...you know what they say, 'never say never'...
I know people who have been at this for months, even YEARS... meeting when they can, making plans to move in with each other, hoping, nurturing their feelings the best they can through text, image and sound broadcast through a global data network...
...boy meets boy, boy meets girl, girl meets girl, all kinds of relations have formed over the internet...
...some work...
...some don't...
...some end up in people hating each other and flaming each other for the rest of time...
...some work for a while until the chance to meet in person presents itself... and then the 'magic' is gone...
...some even destroy lives... marriages... jobs...
Is it the thrill of the unknown?
Is it the intense passion and sexual drive of wanting to be with that person whom is far away?
...why?
...and above all...
...why does it seem to hurt more than a RL relation, when its all over?

Anyway, taking a break from art stuffs here, so I can dedicate myself to a little comic project for a local Anime/Manga fanzine... which I still haven't finished and am already over-due... -_-;
As soon as I'm done with that, I think I can go back to working on those requests I got, and even open for commissions again.

...Oh, not to mention the part in which it makes you want to start breaking everything around you, including computers, desks, windows, cars, people, dogs, etc. etc. etc. etc....

Cuz you know, I'm tired of having this shit happen to me, and I really need to get this thing off my system otherwise I'll fucking explode, and it won't be pretty...

As some of you may have noticed, I started uploading art again...

Time to catch up on Commisisons, long over due giftart, projects put on hold, try a few ArtTrades...

That's it... Not Commissions, Not Trades, Not Collaborations...

Of course, in order to keep it all under control, there will be some limitations ^^;

- No Fanart (sorry)

Slowly getting into gear with the new job... better, pay, better location, better people... Overall, Better :D
Its gonna suck all pennies off my wallet to drive to work all day, reason why I'm pondering trading my car for something less 'gas-guzzling'. ^^;

Here is some basic info to keep in mind:
- I draw in an Anime/Manga-like style. Anything I draw will most likely have some kind of 'Anime/Manga' look.
- Drawings may take anywhere from 2 days to a couple of weeks, depending on my job's schedule and pic complexity. I am serious about this tho, and I 'will' try to finish it as soon as possible.
- Complex scenes and backgrounds will increase both the price and completion time of the picture. Please bear that in mind. ^^;
- As they are completed, all drawings commissioned will be sent to the respective commissioners in a high-res format, unless requested otherwise. All pics will also remain as my intelectual property, and will be posted on my personal gallery, signed, watermarked and with the owner's identification, unless requested otherwise.
Do's and Don'ts
I do:
- Anime
- Anthro (mostly mammal hybrids; other races may take longer)
- Fanart (will require detailed information about character portraied)
- Nudity (mild, partial or full; censorship may apply)
- Action scenes
- Pose scenes
I don't do:
- Excessive Violence
- Excessive Gore
- Other disturbing scenes
Basic prices:
- sketch + ink: $10 USD
- sketch + ink + CG + simple background: $20 USD
- Extras:
- complex background: variable
- extra character: +$5 USD
- manga/comic/doujinshi: variable, minimum $40 USD per page
Payment will be done via PayPal, preferably in advance, before the pic is completed (exceptions may apply). A 'sketch preview' of the pic will be sent as the payment is received.
These are 'flexible' guidelines, so if you have any other questions, feel free to send me a message.
There will also be a weekly update on the progress of the commissions. To help keep track of my availability, and to make sure everything goes well, I'll keep a 10 pic queue at a time, and post the progress here on my journal.
