Health Update - Cancer: 1 Year Later
General | Posted 7 years agoI totally forgot to post an update. I had my 1 year CT Scan and Chest XRay last Thursday. Got the results back Monday - Everything is looking good. Tumor markers were normal as well. So everything is going well after my cancer :) I figured it would be, but that still didn't stop me from worrying. Get to do all those tests again this time next year. But between now and then will be more tumor marker tests every three months. Blood work, nothing crazy.
Test results are in..
General | Posted 8 years agoSo three weeks ago today (Monday) I happened to reach down and found a lump on my right testicle. After a visit to the doctor, the urologist and then a surgery (Last Wednesday) to have the right testicle removed the results are in and it's official....
Cancer.
So now a CT scan to see if it's spread, which I hope not, then if what I've read/heard is right, it's possible I'll need radiation and chemo. I hope not. We'll see. We shall see.

Out of the town for the weekend
General | Posted 10 years agoI'm off to Tennessee tomorrow for the weekend. Gonna be on a mountain top, no cell signal most likely, no laptop, helping out at an event for children. Third year I've helped with this particular Christmas Store and rather excited to do it again. Nice break from the normal work work work of the week. Plus out of town, out of state, mostly out of reach. Just a break from it all with my friends helping cute little children "buy" gifts for the family members they live with. I say "buy" because it's 25-cents per item, but if they don't have enough quarters, it's okay. It's all about them having fun and feeling like they're contributing to Christmas for their family. Plus all the money we get goes into buying presents for kids off the angle tree that haven't been picked by anyone yet. So, double the awesome really.
SO...I bought a new car...
General | Posted 10 years agoSo..I bought a brand new 2016 Toyota Scion iM Sport... http://imgur.com/a/c3Sbo

Weight Loss Progress - Image Added
General | Posted 10 years agoSo here's something I don't think I've ever spoken about - my weight loss.
I'm by no means a small guy, never have been, but I think at my heaviest, which was around 2011, I weighed somewhere between 400-500 lbs. I think it was closer to 450, don't really know. Kinda hard to know when the scales at home and the doctor's office won't work....
A bit embarrassing, really to tell the truth. I never thought I weight that much, but I guess I was in denial about it really. After my panic attack in March of 2011, I decided to make a change after that, switched from drinking mostly sweet tea and soda to drinking mostly water.
That was 4 years ago, and I'm down...well a lot! haha, Can't say exactly how much since I don't know where I was, but I'm down to 285 lbs now. So quite a bit. I've lost it slowly, which is what I feel is best for me. I didn't put it on overnight and I won't take it off over night. Too many times you see people lose 50+ pounds in a few months only to put it right back on. That's just not healthy or for me. No "diet" per say, just eating right, portion control and lots of ice cold water.
Am I doing "everything" I could do? Probably not, but then again too much conflicting information about what's right and what's not, it's hard to tell haha.
I'll try to see if I can find some pictures that show my progress so far. If I do, I'll put them into a collage and put them in my scraps, edit this posting and link to them.
EDIT - I lied! Didn't upload here, used my own website: Link - http://furry.shadowwalkerslair.com/....._june_2015.png

I'm disappointed - Kickball update
General | Posted 10 years agoSo yesterday was a total bust. Just beyond a bloody bust. There was a whole 7 of at the kickball game. People who said they were coming didn't show up, didn't tell us that they wouldn't be, haven't even apologized for not showing up or anything. These are the same people that my friends and I do events for, made to feel like the red-headed step children of of certain big events. Same people that complain when stuff doesn't get done or stuff isn't moving fast enough for them. We're considering taking net year off. Not doing anything for any one, not even the big event here in town in October. We are burnt out and just tired of people not following through for us when they expect everyone to drop everything for them.
I just don't know if I can be arsed to care about any of their events this year and at the same time I still care, a little. Right now I think people are going to have to reprove themselves to me and convince me to care about their events.

Next Few Weeks At Work Won't be fun
General | Posted 10 years agoSo apparently we're now being watched CLOSELY by higher up...higher higher ups...so we have to actually stay busy all day long on stuff. Joy... Apparently they want to see if we could handle doing our normal job if the upper upper upper upper upper ups throw something big and huge at us...Like project where we'd have to pull 80 hours a week for 6-8 weeks. >_> <_< I so don't like the sound of that. I don't I don't. While the pay would be REALLY nice...I don't like the sound of that I don't like the sound of that. It's scary...that's basically having to work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week OR 16 hour days 5 days a week .-.
I did the math....and with over time (Time and a half and double time), the money would be nice...but the stress...but ya know, if a big project like that happens, I'll do what I gotta do. I do love my job - even if there's day where I have to explain to marketing people how the internet works...at least it feels like it haha - and I'll do what needs to be done to keep it and be hired fully. I work a full 40 hours, but I'm not a "full" employee. Just a contract working.

PhalangiesVsCancer - Year 3
General | Posted 10 years agoIt's that time of the year again. On Saturday, May 16 at 3:00pm - 7:00pm, The Dancing Phalangies of Salisbury, NC will be holding our annual Kick-if For Cancer Kickball game. All are welcome! If you can attend and still would like to help, please spread the word and/or donate to the cause. It will be held at Ellis Park in Salisbury, North Carolina, USA. For any that wish to attend, it will be fursuit and cosplay friendly. In fact, we'd love to have enough of both attending to hold an exhibition game - Fursuiters VS Cosplayers.
I'll have more information soon on our T-shirt campaign. So keep watch!
Is there a cost to play? Yes! Only 5$ though (you can donate more if you wish) and it will all go to the Kick-It charity for cancer research.
So please support us in any way that you can!

REMINDER - Extra Life
General | Posted 11 years agoDear Friends, Watchers and random furrs that come across this journal,
I'm on a mission to save kids and I need your help. My local Children's Miracle Network Hospital treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
On October 25, 2014, my friends and I will be participating in this huge worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds from video games to board games and tabletop RPG's! It's my sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support my efforts with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to my hospital.
Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.
I need your help to reach my goal For The Kids. Please make a safe, easy donation online today. Click the "Support This Participant" button on this page to get started. Thank you so much for supporting my efforts!

Phalangies Vs Cancer
General | Posted 11 years agoGood morning everyone. Bit of a serious topic here. Coming up in June, me and my friends are holding a kickball game for Kick-it. An organization that raises money for children's cancer research by holding kickball games where you can sponsor teams by donating to them or you can have your own kickball game and be sponsored yourself. Me and my friends, The Dancing Phalangies ( http://www.dancingphalangies.org ) are having a game in June so if you would like to donate, you can go to http://www.kick-it.org/games/2014/0.....gies-vs-cancer to do so OR if you'd like, you can go to http://teespring.com/thedancingphalangies# and buy a tshirt/hoodie/longsleeve shirt in our colors (orange w/ black text). We're trying to get at least 10 of them sold, so if you would like to donate that way you can. If you do decide to buy one and we don't reach our goal, you won't be charged. Also the tshirt/hoodie will be sent to you when we do reach our goal of 10. Just thought I'd post and see if anyone was interested. Thanks for reading y'all. Oh and please spread the word :3
Somoene wake me up when this week is over
General | Posted 12 years agoThis has been my hellish week so far...
Monday - Table frozen, alarm going off....can't shut off alarm. Have to Google to figure out how to do a hard rest
Tuesday - Normal stupidity at work, crap ton of stuff to do, technology at work won't behave, internet goes down for half an hour
Wednesday - Internet-tv-phone ALL go out for a goo 15 minus, tech support doesn't know why. More crapton of work and stupidity at work.
Today - Work laptop shuts itself down fully..why? Because there was an update pushed out and for some reason it didn't alert me. NO! It just shuts down. Fine, reboot, all normal. Get all caught up. Cellphone acts up all day, won't let me receive picture. Go to the store....get home, put stuff away...whoops, forgot eggs, go back to the store. Get supper at Taco Bell. Order XL steak nachos...get home...no fucking steak! Now, on top of EVERYTHING else, I go to the kitchen, happen to look up and see...WFT?!?! Nice bulge in the ceiling and water dripping from it...Call maintenance guy...naturally he's out of town (for good reason, not his fault), but he's gonna call the plumber, who should be here tonight or in the morning...
And then there's tomorrow....
Tomorrow: I work late. it's my turn to do the mobile version of the WMU (Weekly Market Update) With how my week is going, I'm betting the thing doesn't come in before 7pm >_>
