To know you floofs find what I share to be so enjoyable, that makes me a very happy tail-wagging good boy — and I wiggle and paw-stamp with giddiness to the understanding that you, who follow me, wish to continue seeing more. Welcome friends and followers all, I've been busy today. Rwwrrph! Been posting up some of my art acquisitions from last year to my gallery today so do take a look through what I've been putting up.

Shade takes the role of "DD" in an infiltration operation alongside Big Boss, ambushing a commander at an outpost. While the Boss extracts valuable intelligence, the white wolf makes it his mission to procure his own valuable assets...

It's a day that only comes once a year after all, and if you struggle to give your loved one(s) even a brief span of time dedicated to creating and developing your love - make that day be the one ♪
Whether its romantics gifts, exotic trips, cosy lay-ins, coffee out in the town or even something much much more passionate than that, if there's one thing to be remembered, it's this:

E621 Gender Tagging Disputes: Resolution

Thank you for stopping by to read my journal post. Today I'll be sharing with you a personal matter that I've finally decided to settle today. It's one of some unfortunate inconveniences, which I'll be detailing throughout, which has concluded with an undesirable outcome.
Let's get into it.
Once upon a time, I used to dream of owning my own art. Art that features myself and my delightful interactions among friends and acquaintances. I also dreamed of having that art posted to one of my favourite sites to visit: E621!
I achieved that small little dream not that many months ago when I first began to post art up there. I took every effort to tag things correctly, and even made sure to get the art produced accurately to reflect me in the way I should be perceived.
As all of you should already know, I, Shade, only exclusively exist in either of one of two forms: male or cuntboy/andromorph.
I am never a female.
If this is a surprise to you, well... you might not have been paying attention, or you might have been misled because someone on E621 tagged me incorrectly in one of my art pieces. Yes, unfortunately, there was a bit of a tag war regarding what my character should be labelled as. I take this very seriously.
Using the guide below, I arranged for my art to be labelled to reflect my character's gender as an andromorph correctly after some discussion with an awesome admin in the E621 Discord Helpdesk.

Following the above flowchart guidelines:
1A, 2B, 3B,
4.A.ii) Vagina + Unknown breasts + Male body = andromorph
This was initially agreed without a cause for any problems, but the issue persisted. It wasn't a big deal at first. If someone changed the tags to say female rather than andromorph, I could just change the tags back to andromorph. No problem, right? Well, that changed today when I found one of my art pieces with locked tags, tags that couldn't be changed, explicitly showing "female and -andromorph". For those who don't understand, the -in the -andromorph tag means you cannot add that tag to the art submission.
You can imagine the frustration...
I had to go to the helpdesk again to inquire for help. Unfortunately the decision made the previous admin had been overturned, and so I had to explain the issues this caused for me all over again.
You see, if people search for art of a female feral canine on E621, and they come across my character being mislabeled with a female tag, they might believe my character is a female without noticing the andromorph_(lore) tag. To someone who hasn't got that tag blacklisted, they could easily miss it. Now, what happens if that individual is a heterosexual male who likes female ferals, but has no interest in andromorphs? What happens if that particular individual likes me so much that they go out of their way to make my acquaintance while initially believing I'm a female - rather than an andromorph male?
Social problems. Confusion. Frustration. Sometimes even gender denial abuse... and I'm a sensitive wolf.
I did my best to appeal the decision, showing them how art of feral canines is generally gender ambiguous. I even gave them examples of feral canine artwork where gender tags were apparent even though the gender was typically obscure. Some had gender tags without even having a body, others merely discerned based on the facial expressions shown, and I then pointed towards the masculinity of my face and body and lack of teats; and they concurred with my explanation - but it was not enough.
I gave a strong argument, but the ultimatum was clear: either be satisfied with having andromorph_(lore) and whatever gender tag they deemed appropriate to use (female, ambiguous_gender or andromorph), or file a takedown request of all the artwork featuring myself as an andromorph.
I would never even consider accepting the former. Allowing it would only lead to more of the social problems I described previously. I could not allow E621 continue to perpetuate the issue it was causing for me. In spite of how it looked, It wasn't really an ultimatum; there was no option.
So, I... filed a takedown request of all of my character art featuring me as an andromorph on E621. I specified very clear instructions regarding the takedown process I'd like them to use too. Mainly, if the gender is in dispute, if the admins insist on tagging me as female or ambiguous_gender, even when coupled with andromorph_(lore), I would rather have the art submission taken down.
The problems of being associated with the wrong gender are frustrating both personally and externally. I don't want to confuse people into thinking I'm something that I'm not, nor allow E621 to accept that as a necessary evil just to have the artwork posted there. In all instances, I was always within the parameters of their definition as an andromorph character, most especially because of the lack of visible teats. I never wasn't eligible for the correct tag to be used. Yet, against my imperative, I can't persuade them to represent me as I am.
Keeping my art on E621 would have been amazing for me, but not if it causes these problems. At least on Furaffinity I could tag my character as it should be in the artwork where I'm present. At least here I have full control over the art submissions I'm presenting on my gallery.
Long story short, you'll no longer find art of me as an andromorph on E621. Maybe as a male, but perhaps never as my feral cunnywolf self... which is my original form to be in. Being completely male is actually my secondary form these days.
It's a real shame this is the way things will be moving forward. I may even take down art of my male self from E621 as well, in simply refusing to take part in it any more.
They crushed my little dream...
*Shade sobs quietly in a corner, curled atop a doggie bed while clutching a fluffy feral wolf plushie between his forelegs. Miserable as can be.*

Howlr Discontinues by 26/02/2022! 💔

Just thought I should share the word to any one of you who might have a profile on the lovely Furry Dating App known as Howlr. I also just wanted to briefly share my thoughts here regarding that, but...
Yes, you read that right.
Howlr will be discontinued soon. That makes me really sad, as I liked their app and services even if I didn't make too much use of it. I liked the style, I liked their cute blue otter mascot called Sushi, I liked that I could link it to both my F-List Profile and my Telegram (and even Inkbunny, Weasyl and Sofurry), and I was pleased by having more room to detail my bio, specify likes/dislikes in text, view the lists of people that liked me/people I liked, specify what you were up for (e.g. Chat, Hang Out, Snug, Hook Up) and much, much more. ❤️
Since the developers have decided to cease their operations, they distributed a message to the users on their platform. It recommends a new Furry Dating App called Barq for them check out. Here's their final farewell 💔:
"Hello dear users of Howlr! We are very pleased to see a new alternative to Howlr emerging with https://barq.social , it is everything you like about Howlr but better and more actively developed. We encourage you to join the beta, report bugs and help make Barq the best app for our community.
As for Howlr, we came to the conclusion that it was the right time to put an end to it. Over the years we heard wholesome stories from people having their lives changed for the better by other furries they met on Howlr: some found their loved one(s), or their new best friends, and for that we are glad to have kept the app running for almost 4 years. But it was also a stressful adventure and we feel relieved to stop.
In the next few weeks the following will happen:
• We will stop accepting new users and unlist Howlr from the App and Play Store.
• On the 26th of February the service will be stopped.
• All of our backups and every piece of data will then be deleted.
• Soon after we will publish the source code on GitHub so that anyone willing to make a Howlr clone can do it.

Thank you for all your support and interest in my developments here on FA, it's been a massive welcome into this lovely space ever since I finally managed to get things to take off. I appreciate all that you guys do, whether it's merely watching, adding my gallery posts to your favourites or even leaving comments on the artworks I've commissioned. It means a lot to me and it's been super awesome getting to meet new people as well as make new friends.

I'd just like to thank you all for your interest in watching my growth and development into the wonderful world of furry art this year. It's been a long time coming, but I'm really grateful to finally be here.
I've had my character for a very long time and have enjoyed many extensive roleplaying experiences across places like RuneScape and Feralheart before finally making my way to places such as F-Chat. My passion for the Furry Fandom would not have flourished without all the commitment, affection and support from you all and this is mostly a huge thank you from me.
Beyond that, I shall excite you all this October as I'm looking forward to submitting more completed works from my commission requests and YCH auction wins.
