Hullo Hound Dogs and Poodle Skirts!


So um, I haven't been haunting these hallowed halls in quite some time, I hope this journal will shed a little light as to why!

First let's rewind real quick to the summer of '69 2013. I went through an extremely exciting and enriching informal internship with colourist Jordie Bellaire and artist Declan Shalvey, with the goal of becoming a comic book colourist. It went really well! The intern aspect has ended but we're still close friends :)

At the end of that summer I began doing my first professional work, for a company called BOOM! Studios (actually you guys would probably dig my first work there. It's about Imaginary Friends and it's hella cute. It's called IMAGINE Agents and you can buy the entire mini-series in one book now)
I worked with BOOM until early 2014, as well as some other cool indie peeps.

By Christmas of 2013 I started working for a little company you may have heard of; Marvel.

I've now been steadily working for Marvel as a colourist for the past year and a half, as well as trying to slog my way through college, trying to get my degree in animation (though I have no intention of working in animation after college haha) I've worked on a lot of fun titles including Avengers Assemble, New Warriors, Storm and Deadpool, among others! It has been a very exciting time and I have learnt so much, and I'm still learning!

While I adore my job and enjoy college, working so much professionally and academically did put a damper on my personal work for quite some time, nothing ever got past the sketching stage!

But in the past few months that has changed! I've been making more of an effort to make time for personal work, finishing illustrations from start to finish. And it has paid off in the form of an art booklet!

Yeah son! I just recently finished putting together a 22 page, full colour art booklet called Sugar and Spice! You can also learn about that on my tumblr! 8D I may start selling it online but first I'm taking it to Confuzzled.

That's another exciting thing! My friend Bloo has convinced me to go to Confuzzled this year and I will be there peddling my wares! :)

Now I'm gonna go start posting a few bits from Sugar and Spice here on FA to try and inch my way back in haha~

Hullo Errybody but especially Irish'n'UK folks >u<

So! As anyone who is into the con scene here in Ireland will know, we don't have a convention dedicated to the sole purpose of uniting and entertaining the relatively small but passionate furry fandom in Ireland!

When I go to Anime/Comic/General Geek conventions here in Ireland I always meet at least a couple peeps with fuzz on the brain, and those are just the ones who are obvious about it! I think it's high time these poor puppies got their own con, instead of just infiltrating cons that accept geekiness and passion in general ;D

It looks like kevin-347 has been thinking the same thing 8D She tells me that she and some other people are planning to host the first Fur Con here in Ireland sometime in February 2014! How exciting is that!

They want to call their con ReFURlution and plan on inviting some really cool guests like Ino89777 .
And the hotel they currently have their sights set on is the Ballsbridge Inn in uh, Ballsbridge! hahaha~ And I can personally vouch for that place as a great con space having been to 4 cons hosted there in the past 3 years.

So! Anyone else think this is exciting stuff? >u< Y'all should totally direct any questions, ideas, etc to kevin-347

Hey guysss~

So this weekend I was at a convention here in Ireland and it went really well! I made some monies, won the digital category in the art contest and got my hands on a print by two of my favourite artists ;u;! Just wonderful~

Though the con was only on over the weekend I actually left home last Tuesday and only got back this evening so ah, sorry for not replying to messages and stuff! (My inbox is so full aaah!) I'm kinda tired right now but I'll get on that tomorrow morning :) Though I promise I'll post this week's No Pride update before I go to sleep~

Oh, also! Something I noticed recently that I thought was kinda interesting - In the last year on-the-day sketch commissions have become more and more of a staple part of my convention income. But in the last two conventions (I try to get to as many cons as possible haha) I've been getting an unusual number of comms of first; people's pets, then it was people as anthros or their fursonas. It's not that I mind! In fact I love it since they almost always have a great ref with them and I don't have to go scouring the trade hall for a picture of some anime character I've never heard of. It's just that I have never really thought of myself as an anthro artist. I thought that was just something I did on the side to help myself get better at animals in general. Maybe I should re-evaluate what I focus on as an artist. HMMMMM

Hi guys!

So I'm not home at the moment (haven't been since Saturday, there was a con on here :3) and I had thought I'd be going home Tuesday and therefore wouldn't need to bring No Pride files with me but now it's Wednesday and I'm still in a friend's house XD; It now seems I won't be heading home until Thursday as I have been invited to a party on tonight. Fwups~

But! To make up for it I will post three pages tomorrow ^^

Also! I will be officially opening up commissions sometime next week :) I've been getting a few notes from people asking about prices so it would seem to make sense for me to do this in a more organized manner XD
I'm going to make a price list image that should explain all my prices and the things I can do quite clearly. I dunno if I'll open slots as such since I dunno if that many people are even interested hahaha~
Is there anyone who is interested? Even if not in the next few days, but in general genuinely considering commissioning me?

Thank you all SO much for the amazingly warm response! I was quite blown away by the number of people who wanted sketches from me even though I'm a newcomer! Well, I guess who can say no to free stuff, amirite? ;D Hahaha~

So yeah! I'm gonna be working through these bad boys - 14 in total
Doing 2 - 4 every morning and posting them in the evening I should have them all done by the end of the week ^__^ I'm working in the order I recieved them so you can kinda guess when yours will get done :)

Hello!

So, like the title says, I'm new to Furaffinity! I'm really anxious but I've heard nice things about the community here so I'm sure I'll be fine haha~ Please do say hi! I'd love to get to know some people :)

I'm going to start posting a short comic I made last year so I hope you guys like that.
