MB #111: 2023 June Solstice
General | Posted 2 years agoI hope today is a happy day for you. I just lazed about at home before jogging under the late afternoon sun and browsing aisles of books and video discs after sunset.
Once again, I hope against destiny that humanity can turn things around and secure a happier, healthier and safer future.

MB #110: Belatedly celebrating the 2022 June solstice...
General | Posted 3 years ago... with CoViD-19. 😷 Onset of fever, sore throat, phlegm and stuffy chest in just 6 hours.
MB #109: 2021 June solstice
General | Posted 4 years agoTime for another June solstice update. SARS-nCoV-2 Delta extends its grip over humanity, I cannot get back to work yet, my mum suffered painful bone fractures, I got meself a decent gaming monitor.
MB#108: A horrible March equinox
General | Posted 4 years agoThe 2021 March equinox finally arrived, and I wanted to mark the occasion with a walk along a beach during sunset. However, I ate contaminated sushi and was instead confined at home nursing a 38.5°C fever and projectile firing acid out of my intake and exhaust ports of my body. Ugh.

MB#106: Doctor was right! It was anxiety.
General | Posted 5 years agoMy gastroenterologist was right to refer me to a psychiatrist, who diagnosed me with generalised anxiety disorder and prescribed me fluoxetine. With fluoxetine, several days have gone by with no chest pain, so I do not have to take omeprazole daily anymore. I still have to watch my food intake.
MB#105: Stomach acids and anxiety
General | Posted 5 years agoManometry test went well enough. It appears only surgery can permanently stop my stomach from spewing acid all over my gut, but I am not brave enough to take that venture. I think I will settle with 1 small caplet of omeprazole every day for the rest of my life.
Meanwhile, I have to get my lungs scanned and be assessed by a psychiatrist for anxiety later. I am dreading those.

MB#104: 😷down with a cold
General | Posted 6 years agoWeekend plans ruined by cold virus. At least I hope it is the common cold.
MB#103: Happy Solstice!
General | Posted 6 years agoMany hours late. Happy solstice, anyway!
MB#102: Happy Birthday
General | Posted 6 years agoHappy 30th birthday to me. Had a scrumptious lunch with mom followed by another long work night.
Still have no clear plan to progressing academically and vocationally.

MB#101: So I had a stomach endoscopy
General | Posted 6 years agoThe chest and abdominal pains escalated into jolting awake from nightmares with a bad fever, nausea and half an hour of difficult breathing. That was the last straw. I had my stomach inspected and the bad news is that a polyp was found. Good news is that my diagnosis of acid re-flux stands for now, I have no Barrett's oesophagus and there is practically no evidence of a hostile microbial invasion against my GIT.
MB#100: Here comes the Wooloo herd 🐑
General | Posted 6 years agoLots and lots of Wooloo in my submissions inbox. So cute! Love for Pokèmon is still going strong.
Barely religious nowadays, but greatly appreciate a month full of family gatherings.
Centre left side chest pains are happening again, made worse by getting tired from walking too easily.

MB#99: IT'S SPRING!
General | Posted 6 years agoAs I was hoping, the rains poured hard less than 12 hours after the March equinox. Absolute relief after several months of cold dry air and hot sun.
MB#98: OMG it's a Pokèmon bonanza!!
General | Posted 7 years agoWOW, what a deluge of Pokèmon art after the announcement of Sword and Shield! It appears Pokèmon is still dear to our hearts after all these years. This pleases me.
Meanwhile, I am preparing for a short trip out of my country on Friday and should be home by Sunday.

MB#97: Happy (Chinese) New Year!
General | Posted 7 years agoHappy (Chinese) New Year! Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!
Thinking about finally diving into commissioning and adopting. There's so many great artists and characters, but I also have to watch my expenditure to stay in the black.
In other news, mom has refused bone marrow transplant and decided to tough it out through chemotherapy. I can only maintain my monthly contributions and wish her all the best from here onwards.

MB#96: Short journal entry
General | Posted 7 years agoHappy 29th birthday to me!
Been indulging in headphones and premium cuisine. The holes I blew in my savings account are proof of that.
Body aches and migraines more frequent. Obviously I'm getting old, but I feel like I'm getting old too fast.
Still happy that mom gets to stay at home for the time being!

MB#95: 10 000 files of furry and mom's leave
General | Posted 7 years agoOne of my computer programs jumbled up the filenames of every JPEG image in my recent furry art hoard! Because of this I incurred a backlog of over 10 000 submissions across FA, Twitter, Tumblr and Patreon. Ugggghh!! They're all finally downloaded and ready for sorting and storage.
Meanwhile, my mom was granted three(!!) weeks of home leave to lay off painful chemotherapy and recover from surgery after a fungal invasion of her right lung. Really aching pains here and there, but she is still much happier at home than at hospital. Family, friends and hobbies made her life meaningful again.

MB#94: New contract! Also stem cell therapy
General | Posted 7 years agoSigned under a new contract for higher pay. It has been a long time coming. I teared up a bit when my supervisor told me that I deserve something better after all the hard work I did for them.
Mom and dad have decided to incur all the debt and risk that comes with stem cell therapy, which is the only solution that is going to get mom out of the hospital alive. I hope this next dice roll yields that result.

MB#93: Mom's stable. Also old hobby re-ignited
General | Posted 7 years agoMom is out of intensive care and back in regular ward. Dad and the hospital staff are taking care of her very well.
Anyway, I am getting along well with my new colleague. As thanks for helping him rediscover the music of Hirokazu "HIP" Tanaka, he gifted me a vinyl record. Apparently that re-ignited my passion for music and audio hardware. Audiophile dreams (and nightmares) are coming again!

Mom is under intensive care
General | Posted 7 years agoThat which is all I know for now.
MB#92: MAY: Mommy, monsoon and money
General | Posted 7 years agoIt's May 2018! Mom's health has improved, though she is still a wreck after chemotherapy, the monsoon has returned, and I feel proud of myself for getting a grip on my spending. Thanks to budgeting, I am close to seeing $4000 in my savings account for the first time!
Granted that meant not buying new clothes, toys, games, books, music and going on a vacation...

MB#91: Mom's get-well-soon party
General | Posted 8 years agoMom is back in hospital for chemotherapy again, but before that she held a get-well-soon party for herself, with my family, relatives and her friends as her guests. It worked to inject normalcy back into our social circle after what happened. Talks, buffets, movies, toys and crying toddlers, you name it!
As expected, chemo makes her feel awful, but whenever she can, she posts memes and strikes up chit-chat with my family on our WhatsApp group. Mom is a trooper.
In other news, the Second Cold War is underway as far as I am concerned. Here is hoping current and future generations uphold global harmony, freedom of information and expression, energy efficiency and proper waste management.

MB#90: So time zones are why. Also cancer.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo it turns out that I keep seeing Russian artists in the latest submissions because I log in during Russian peak Internet hours.
My mother's AML has returned 1 year and 9 months after remission. She has been crying and praying a lot since her haematologist's report. Dad, her parents, relatives and clique are equally downtrodden by the news. Unable to afford the US$100 000 bone marrow transplant, she is going to re-take painful chemotherapy. She really wants to go on living, but re-imagining the consequences of chemotherapy leaves her crying and shaking.
I would love to win a jackpot right now.

MB#89: Why can't I hold all these Russian artists?
General | Posted 8 years agoSeveral artists I recently watched and whose artwork I love hail from Russia. I wonder what it is over there that brings out so much talent,
