Posted 5 years agoToday is my birthday.. I level up to Age 42 today. :)
Considering my health, I'm very happy to turn 42. My diagnosis has made me appreciate life a little more. :)
I hope to have many more birthdays and I'm fighting with all the strength I've got to ensure that I will.
As for my cancer, not much has changed. My tumor is a bit smaller than it was in my initial diagnosis. They did have to switch up one of my meds because one of the drugs they had me on gave me peripheral neuropathy in my legs, feet and hands. I'm hoping that it goes away but it could take a while. At least I can drink cold drinks during my treatment though. The drug that they replaced it with has a very fun set of new side effects but I'm working on managing them.

Cancer Sucks :(
Posted 5 years agoI suppose I should let people know what's going on with me. Around Christmas time I started to lose my appetite and my belly was growing bigger. Just after New year's my mom and sister took me to a local hospital for a scan and the news was not good. Was then transferred to Boston Medical Center and underwent more tests. After my release I got a call from one of the doctors with the diagnosis.. Stage 4 Colon Cancer which spread to the lining of my intestines. :( Yesterday (Tuesday) I went in for my 3rd round of aggressive Chemotherapy..I'm feeling a lot better today..my appetite has returned and I'm down from around 250 pounds to around 210. I'm handling the whole situation with a positive attitude. I want to beat this and kick cancer's butt.

Shoulder Injury :(
Posted 6 years agoSunday night at my job (as a cart attendant at a local Target in a local shopping mall), I was retrieving carts from the second level of a parking garage when I had the 'brilliant' (aka dumb) idea to try and bring down about 15-16 carts down the ramp that leads from the second level down to the main level. As soon as I started to go down, first one set of carts slipped away and barreled downhill then the next set and I tried to give chase..during that I slipped and tumbled to the pavement. When I got back up to fix the mess that I had made, I had a few bruises here and there and realized I had messed up my left shoulder in some way. After trying to clean up (with a little help from a guest who's truck got hit by one of the runaway carts..and was surprisingly not upset and just wanted to make sure I was okay) and bring those in, I went and reported the injury to my supervisor and we filled out the proper paperwork and then I called my mom to drive me to the hospital.
Once there, after some x-rays, I was diagnosed with a moderate left shoulder sprain and my arm was put in a sling. Will be out at least a week from work (likely longer due to the nature of my job) but will get paid for those days..and since I injured myself at work, the company will cover my hospital bill and other expenses.
The bad thing.. my left hand is my 'primary' hand for most everything except writing so I may be slow to type and have had to improvise using my right hand for more things.
The good thing..because of this I don't have to work Black Friday (for the first time in several years)
I should be recovered in some time but it might be a little slow.

Happy Birthday 2019 & Megaplex 2019 Mini Report :)

Also, Megaplex was so very fun..I would have posted earlier but I had a lot of things to catch up on when I got back.
PROS:
The hotel (the Carribe Royale) was amazing
Meeting all my friends again
Our awesome rental car (a Red Chevy Camaro Convertible)
Universal Studios & Disney
The convention itself was wonderful. :)
CONS:
The delayed flight to get to Orlando due to bad weather (left 4 hours late and didn't get to Orlando until later at night).. it worked out tho..Southwest gave me and my sister $200 vouchers towards a future flight. :)
The hotel parking..had to park in a mini overflow lot for most of the weekend
Throat issues which affected my ability to speak properly.
Overall the trip was wonderful and can't wait to come back next year. :)

Megaplex Room Share
Posted 6 years agoWill be going again to Megaplex this year with my sister..this will be my 7th in a row, making it my most attended furry con. For the last couple years, we've gotten our own room but after the high cost last year, we decided to get a room share this year to save on cost so we can do more in Orlando before and after the con.
So far tho, we haven't been able to secure a room share yet, so I thought I would post a journal here and ask if anyone is looking for a room share or knows someone who is. Would be me and my sister. We would mainly need it from Thursday night (August 8th) to Monday morning (August 12th). We're usually pretty quiet and will be spending most of our time in and around the con during the weekend.

New Computer! :)
Posted 7 years agoGot a new computer back in October as a replacement for my 7 year old Dell XPS 7100. It's a Dell Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop. The coolest part is the see through side panel that shows the internal workings of the computer. It currently only has 8 GB of memory but I can expand it to 32 and do more upgrades in the future. I got it from my Dell Preferred Account for $550 plus tax.. I will be paying for it with monthly payments for a while but it is definitely worth it. 😁 By the way I will still use my old computer from time to time to download music for my show but this new computer is now my primary one. It's been a learning curve with the new computer but I love it so far. :)

Megaplex was so fun this year..had lots of fun and reconnected with so many awesome friends. Instead of a long report, I'll just mention some of the highlights and lowlights of my trip.
Highlights:
Annual trip to Steak & Shake with my sister on the wednesday we got there.
First trip to Disney Springs. :)
The hotel..seriously the convention hotel was amazing..
The room itself..wanted to take those beds home with me.
Rooming with
arisuvixen at the con :)
Getting our reg with the awesome t-shirt and glasswear
Dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe with my sister at Universal (and not having to pay for parking) along with getting a new Hard Rock T-shirt.
Getting to see
genesisw & 
foxenawolf and getting to hang by their tables all weekend.
The gifts that Gen got me (the plushies who were always in very 'compromising' positions in the bag ;) And the awesome, cute badge which I will post up here soon. :)

The first night Dessert Social that turned into an impromptu pool party.
The Sponsor suite.. so much awesome food and drink.
SuperSponsor luncheon with some very informative and entertaining discussions and delicious food.

Delicious Pizza in the suite then watching Zootopia with a whole cool group of furries. :)
Hanging out with Gen & the rest of the Little Tales crew after the Dealer's Den closed.
The dinner with Jaezel & the others at the Yard House at the Orlando Eye and the awesome pic.
Going to Disney World with my sister and TriasZephyr and having a great time.
Lunch on the last day at Friendly's with Gen, Fox, Uriel among others. :)
Hanging out at Disney Springs again before we left, including a visit to the awesome Coca-Cola store (3 stories) and getting my mom a Disney Cookbook for her birthday. :)
Lowlights:
Getting lost in Orlando on the first night (tho we did eventually find our first night hotel)
The noisy AC in the hotel room
Bruising my knee tripping on Gen's art bag. I'm fine tho and we got a good laugh about it later. :) I'll probably end up wearing knee pads and caution tape next year..hehe.
Waking up with a huge, splitting headache on Saturday morning..I did recover in time for the luncheon tho. :)
The parking situation. Tho I blame that more on the construction at the hotel than anything else. Should be better by next year.
The bad sunburn I got at Disney Springs the first day.
Getting lost (again) for a little bit on our way back to the airport.
Having to go home. ..but there's always next year.
