Moving- Another update

My stay in the hotel is nearly over. We are on track for moving into the new place tomorrow. I will be handing over the rest of the deposits and signing paperwork and then we should be good to go.
Work getting done in the hotel has been largely Null. The desk is too tiny to work at, and I admit my depression has been kicking my ass. I apologize. I was unable to find a home for two of our cats (we had 5 total new place would only allow 2 but allowed 3 as a special exception with additional deposit) and had to give them up to a shelter yesterday. Im... still very heart broken about it and I thought I could recover quicker than I have. Ive been a mess.
Ive been laying on the bed doing some doodles on the laptop but nothing is turning out. I will continue to try but there will most likely be a delay in sketches until monday/beginning of next week. This weekend is going to be moving things -into- the new place and net hookup should be monday since we are able to keep comcast and just move the service over with us.
Thank you all for your continued support and understanding. Im ready to be done with this hectic chapter of my life and I hope that I never have to repeat such a horrid move in the future. I might have to bite the bullet and rent a Uhaul -again- to take everything out of storage, but Im running very low on funds (especially after deposits tomorrow) so im not sure when that is going to be able to happen.

Moving- an update

Sorry ive been super quiet about everything going on lately but thats mostly because everything has been up in the air with little to update on.
We got word that we were approved for the townhouse we submitted an application for! We cant move until around the 25th, and im unsure how long I will be with out net after that while it gets set up with the new service provider, ect.
Our Original move out day was the 15th. (today) But we contacted the seller and begged for 5 more days (This house is still packed with stuff because we have been unable to move it even though ive had a uhaul ready to go because other family who was letting us store things, decided that they were going to be unavailable for 3 days and so we couldnt move squat.)
So, technically we have 4 more nights here, and then we will need to rent a hotel for a bit.
Once Im in the hotel I am going to start working on things offline ( even if the hotel has wifi I am going to limit my online presence so I can strictly focus on art things for awhile), and continue to do so until I get net back. If I end up with a massive amount of sketches that need approval I will be sending phone screenshots to people for review. If you are not comfortable with that quality, please let me know at that point and I will try and bring my laptop to a place with wifi to send the file for you to review.
Please note, I will not be completing any work. I will only be working on sketches and line art, getting out WIPS to people for approval and working from there.

We havent been given the final total yet but given its 1200 -just- for the cat deposits, im anticipating a hefty hefty bill.
As such I may have to open additional slots to cover our hotel, and any additional to make sure we can get in and secure. I hope that is not the case, Im just placing this as a warning because I do not know the full total (contract has not yet been signed) If you see me opening for additional slots before you have gotten a wip, or before you see your name rising up in the queue at all, that is why.

I normally do have very slow turn around times but I am hoping that working in batches of 5-10 at a time will be helpful. I tried that while doing my Wingits the last couple months and it seemed very effective. (spending a day or two sketching our 5-10 images for review, and then inking them after review, ect. )
I think this has probably turned a bit rambly, and Im sorry for that. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Thank you so much for your support and I will hopefully be back by the end of May, Early June at full speed.

Art Hiatus for Move

We got outbid, so we are back to square one with 10 days until we must be out of this house.
I am actively looking for places, searching apartments and... coming to terms with having to re-home some of the animals.
With my mother being disabled, alot of the house has to be packed up by myself. So in order to try and move things into storage and the barn on some family property (We cannot stay there, only store things.) I need to completely focus on that for awhile.
Asking for additional thoughts and prayers that we find a place soon. Even places listed online as open, when we call, are full. A home listed yesterday for rent is already full. Its just.... Its nuts guys. I live in a rural area, and this is... Ive never seen this.
We are looking at some low cost apartments atm, but with it being the weekend we're playing phone tag.

Given the situation being...rather dire, I have picked up a small laptop I should be able to work on while potentially couch surfing or staying at a hotel. My desktop, desk, chairs, ect are way to big to carry around, and will be going into storage. I am backing up everything onto an SSD so I will have my files and should be able to work. Im not confident in the screen colors. As such I will only be working on commissions up to flat color stage and will not be finishing them until I am moved in somewhere and can have my beefy desktop to color accurately, or I will see about bringing one of my monitors with me if I get to that point.
Given that I will be sending out WIPS to people in my queue (if you are getting one and its not a wingit) in bigger batches, because I wont be able to do shading or backgrounds or finishing work.

I am going on Hiatus from art for the rest of this week. I need to focus on packing up this house and helping my mother go through things. After the deadline, is when I will begin working again, as everything should be in storage...and if its not.. well its lost at that point. So..RL is going to eat me for a little while but I am not vanishing. Even though I am still looking for a place, you will get the art I have owed to you. Many of you expect longer turn around times from me anyway -but- im normally always around to speak with and I wont be as much this week. So.. This is just a heads up. Please dont get spooked by my absence, I am fully intending to return. Life just needs to cool its jets for a little while and toss me a softball for once.

A housing update and open commissions

Im not one for airing out my personal life, but as this is such a big issue, but I wanted to write a quick update to let you know how things are going with my housing situation and to take a moment to thank the kind souls who have donated, commissioned, re-tweeted, shared, helped spread the word, prayed, given good vibes.
No matter how little or how much you have helped me, you have helped me. Thank you. I wouldnt be holding onto this small sliver of hope that I am with out you all. You are helping guide my way in this dark time, every one of you is a beautiful soul for trying your best to help me, for giving me kindness, when it isnt your fault Im in this situation. When it isnt your problem to deal with. When it isnt your life being impacted. Im some text on the internet to you, but you have reached out so much. Im so thankful for all of you.
Thank you. My family thanks you for what you have been able to do as well. Every bit counts.
As for the update... we havent been able to find much. We have, at present, one viable option. And its gonna be a crap shoot.
The long and short of it, is we found a nicer trailer that was foreclosed on in a nice park not far from here. Double wide from the 70's so old, dated... old... They will be auctioning it storage wars style. You cannot enter the unit. You can only peek in the windows, which we have done. Its...full of trash. But its all bagged up already for the most part.
From what I could see, it had a wood stove or pellet stove for heat which has been removed, and we heard that one of the bathrooms is completely destroyed from the property manager. Beyond that...it seems sound. We can deal with one working bathroom until we can repair the other, we have only had one bathroom for the last 4-5 years, so not a big deal.
It starts at 1k for bidding. The problem is the bidding. Im.. super worried. Im doing what I can to try and push through this fear and continue with my head held high and strong but with only a couple thousand to our name for the entire move, im obviously a little spooked. With it being our only viable option that has presented itself. (My mom is disabled, places with stairs arnt an option, we have to stay relatively close to this area for her doctors, housing bubble with lots of sales not much to rent, ect.)
The auction is on the 4th.
I am asking all of you to please help how ever you can. If you can commission, donate, spread the word. Say a prayer, send good vibes. Do... what you have been doing. I cant thank all of you enough for that.

I have opened for art slaves in the past, and it is something I am opening again. This is a value for your as a consumer, as you get more art than you actually pay for~
If you are a kind-hearted soul with a good amount of disposable income to help my family, and are understanding of long turn around times. (I have a great track record, keep a public queue, and have done art slaves before. I do not have a tendency to forgot, or scam people. But I understand its hard to take my word on that. ) Please consider taking one of these slots.
ART SLAVE
What is it?
An art slave is where you pay a lump sum and I work off the balance, generally giving you additional value than if you had paid per picture. You will be allowed to pick and choose from any commission type, from sketches to fully detailed pictures. The amount is subtracted from the amount you paid untiil I have worked off the sum.
Prices
I will be offering a couple options.
Package 1) 500.00 USD. If you pay in this amount you will recieve 600.00 in art value.
Package 2) 750.00USD. If you pay in this amount you will recieve 900.00 in art value.
Package 3) 1000.00 USD. If you pay in this amount you will recieve 1250.00 in art value.
If for some reason you are very very generous and would like something beyond these tiers listed, please contact me and we can go over the details.

I am trying to arrange it this way so that I can try and avoid burn out and quickly get images completed as quick as possible to clear my debts.
If you have another suggestion if you have worked with people who have done art slaves before and you have a better option. I am all ears. Please contact me. Ive only done this once before to this scale, and so if you have pointers or suggestions please let me know.

Due to the nature of my problem, I need the money asap. I cannot take much of a payment plan at this point. But if you wanted to split the payments we could discuss it.

Crafting wishlist~
Posted 7 years agoIve been watching way way way too many DIY youtube crafting videos lately and ive caught the bug again. So, Ive created a wishlist on amazon to track items I would love to pick up at some point and try. Ive always been interested in resin casting and clay, but never really messed with it beyond the odd Highschool art class, or the few times I made custom MLP for myself and friends. But that was more painting and re-hairing than working with clay (a little, not alot)

I posed this question on my twitter, but figured I would ask here as well.
I have been asked several times about doing a Daki for Shar, and or Wynn, and I would -love to-
But given some things currently going on in my life I cant take the time to really work on personal projects as much as I would like.
I have seen people do drives, or fund raisers to do images. After the goal is met the image is completed, people who donated getting a larger version of the image than web posted (usually?) and then the image going on sale as a daki so people can purchase it.
Is this something my watchers would like to be interested in? Basicly helping to fund a project you might like to see? I guess its sorta like a patreon tier with out patreon. The images will still be posted to my site here for free when completed so people can see them.
Anyway, whats your take on this guys? Would love to hear any feedback you have!

Im back~
Posted 8 years agoThe trip was -amazing- I already miss my friends, even though we have talked every day since. Back to being online only. Its great to have faces and expressions to put to their unique quirks.
I have managed to catch a cold from traveling, its that or allergies. I slept like the dead last night, once I was back in my own bed. Im going to take today to recover, unpack and just in general wind down from the hype from the trip. I'll be answering notes shortly, but I wont be working on any artwork until tomorrow. Just need to get my bearings and get back into things.

Upcoming Haitus
Posted 8 years agoJust as a heads up to everyone, I will be gone, out of state from the 7th to the 15th. Probably take the 16th to sleeeeep and recover.
Because I didnt go to any cons this year, my friends and I have been planning for probably 6-8 months. Im going to be heading down to cali, taking the train along the coast line. (my choice because I .. am scared of flying and train is way way better than bus) and going to hang with several of my friends down in cali.
wager218 mostly, who has been at the head of organizing everything for everyone., People flyin in from other states and stuff.
So kinda like a mini friendship con and we're gonna go do dumb touristy things. I'll be back to work shortly, but I cant tell you guys how much I am looking forward to this. I very very rarely take trips, hell Im very much a hermit so I dont even leave the house that often if I dont have to.
Im nervously excited to hang out with many of my awesome internet friends. <3
I hope you all have a great time while Im gone. Sadly I wont be able to work on any art while I am away. (no laptop/mobil tablet) but I will be taking a small sketchbook with me, and plan on sketching some on the train so Im not completely out of practice when I return.
