Normally my price for commissions is $20 for a full colored piece. But if you can't afford that, I'm willing to haggle. School should be pretty light this week, so I'll work fast, especially if you want something for a sweetie in time for VD-Day.

Because I am a retarded idiot, I bought what I THOUGHT was Pirates of the Caribbean 3 the DVD yesterday, and when I took it home and started watching it, I realized that it was, in fact, the SECOND movie, which I already own.

I'd like to share something with you guys that I think might make some of you feel better about yourselves. This might be a TL;DR, but I think it's worth reading.

I've had people ask me before at college when it was that I started learning to draw. When I tell them my mother was an artist, and she always pushed art on me, they roll their eyes and go pfft, "That's why you can draw. You started young."

The reason that most people who, when they start art young, actually grow up to become artists is this. When I drew as a kid, I didn't think "man, my art sure sucks, I should give up!" I drew because I ENJOYED it. It was FUN, and I LOVED making pictures that reflected pieces of my imagination. As I got older, with so much practice, my skill naturally improved with time and effort. And since I was getting older, my awareness of the world around me got sharper, but my skill was growing, so I never thought, "I suck." I always just did it because it was a passion of mine.

Because of all those years of hard work, when I got to be a teenager and started doing realism charcoals, I was good enough that I still had confidence, because I had practiced. And so I stuck with it.

The problem with starting art when you're an adult, is that you're AWARE of the fact that your beginning work sucks. Adults have less patience than children, and they have ulterior motives for doing things. So if you're an artist now, or you want to become an artist, stop drawing to make other people happy. Draw to make YOURSELF happy, and only then will your work really shine. Don't give up just because you're unhappy with your work. It just takes practice, like anything. I'm by no means at the bar that I want to be myself, but that's just motivation to stick with it. Anything worth having is worth fighting for!

It's easy to get discouraged. Remember that this is a website FOR artists. Just because there's a great many artists on here, doesn't mean you're not special. It doesn't make you "just another nobody." All the people who use this site are spread out across the whole world. When everyone's an artist on here, it's easy to feel small. But go out there in the real world, and you'll realize that when you tell people you're an artist, they'll "Oooh" and "Ahh!" because artists are more rare than you think.

And it's that way with anything. If you go work out at a gym, you're always going to compare your body to the bodies of people who are personal trainers and devote themselves to nothing but diet and exercise. Some people give up, because they compare themselves. Some people are motivated. But the key to success is to do things because you enjoy them, and it's good for you. And realize that even the people you idolize don't have perfect lives. We all struggle with insecurity. Life is too short for jealousy.

So pat yourself on the back. Your art rocks! Your writing rocks! Keep plugging on! Even if you don't get a lot of comments, or commissions, it's not about the popularity game, it's about doing something for yourself.

I love you all, you should love yourselves, too.

I NEVER perpetuate drama. It takes more to get under my skin than most people are even capable of doing, but with SOME things, I just can't HANDLE it. A few months ago, one of the people my ex cheated on me with watched me on FA. I BEGGED them to unwatch me and to just LEAVE ME ALONE, and for awhile, they did.

But now they not only rewatched me again, they're favoriting my things, and all blocking them does is make it so they don't comment. It can't keep them from looking or favoriting.

This might not be a big deal to some people, but every time I even SEE that name on my page, it's like a literal dagger through my heart, that one of the people who was responsible for putting me through hell and beyond should be so cruel as to bother me on here, when I have even asked them NICELY, and I PLEADED with them to just GO AWAY.

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO CRUEL. WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO TORMENT ME WITH REMINDERS OF SOMETHING THAT DESTROYED MY WHOLE LIFE ONCE.

I'm just really EFFING busy because of finals - that stretch until the 13th. Ugh, and I have finals ON MY BIRTHDAY - which is the 11th.

So I'm sorry if I suck right now with communication ;-; so many responsibilities..

 direwolf505 just went through my entire archive and faved EVERY piece of mine, and commented on just about every piece, and it made me realize the SHEER VOLUME of art I crank out on a regular basis. Considering how hectic my life always is, I'm actually rather..I don't know. Flabbergasted I draw as much as I do. It's one thing to do a piece, and quite another to flick back through your own archives and realize "holy shyte.. that's alot of art"

So what about you guys? Do you wish you drew more? Do you wish you drew less, with more quality to each piece? Do you wish you had more creative ideas, and less technical attention to your pieces, or vice versa? Schpiel the beans ;p

Pedophilia is a real, and serious problem. For those of you who think that it doesn't exist, or that people who play it out in fantasies do so only in fantasies, well.

Here is a link to a free website that shows you sex offenders in your area. I would like it if everyone would look up their own zipcode, to see just how many people out there who are registered sex offenders live in their area, and look at the pictures and the crimes.
I want people to see the REALITY that exists around them. And these are just the people who are REGISTERED.

In my area, only three of the 60 something sex offenders are NOT pedophiles. The rest are registered for assault on children.

Protect yourself. Protect your children. Protect the children you care about. Visit this site. People don't just start out as pedophiles by jumping right into it. Like any addiction, it's a step by step process that eventually reaches horrible conclusions.

It's finally cooled down enough here that it's not cold, but it's not blistering hot, so I can pick up my usual winter past time of riding again. Woohoo!

To those of you who were so supportive in my last post, thank you so much! Knowing how many people care about me and wish me well just really made me feel so loved and appreciated. You guys are the greatest people in the world, and not just friends, but like a family to me. I love this community.

As to how I'm feeling? It's still pretty rough, my mobility still suffers some restrictions, but hopefully that'll get better once I go to a chiropractor. I'm in a pretty good mood today though, oddly enough!

I was in a hit and run tonight when I was stopped at a red light, where a ford f250 super duty plowed into the back of me going full speed, then drove off going over 80, and almost ran several other people off the road making their getaway. We chased them for a few streets, but they went through a red light at a busy intersection, and not wanting to risk it, they got away. Some of the people they almost hit on their hectic drive pulled over, and we all gave our witness to the police. I hope something comes of it. I can't believe someone would be so terrible to hit someone when they were at a dead stop, then run off like that.

I'm in so much pain right now, the car....yeah. this is going to make things very difficult for awhile. sigh.

Edit: It just came to me, the only reason someone would drive off like that would be because
1. The car might have been stolen
2. There might have been drugs involved
3. It was a rich kid who wasn't supposed to have the car out, because it was a 50k truck

Check this out. This is really awesome and it touches real people who are in poverty in ways we could never understand. I'm not linking it so people will invest, but it's really heartening to see how those who have money are actually doing something that effects individuals, not just blanket corporations where you donate money to help people and it gets eaten up by the business and never sees the hands of those who truly need it. (Run on sentence for the win! I just get so excited about things like this)


It's also flooring to see how something like $250 makes so much of a difference. These aren't people who want welfare or constant monthly support, it's real, working families who just want the capitol so they can care for themselves from thereon out. So cool.

It's not even a donation, it's a LOAN that they repay with interest. EVERYONE profits.
