My friend  queue has been going through some emotional turbulence lately, that's been drawing him into waves where he'll either feel incredibly lonely, or incredibly horny. Now before you think this is me pimping someone out..well..I am!

He's a really great guy. He's intelligent, sensitive, caring, loyal, talented, and reeking of positive energy except in those few moments where the depression hits him. So I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano. I can play the flute, took it for years, but the piano has always been my real dream. I enrolled in beginners piano for this semester at school, and I've been taking classes twice a week for a month now. I thought I'd share with you a video of my pitiful attempts at playing a song! I know I'm a newb, and that piano was horribly out of key, but I'm only a month in, so I'm excited, because if I can play even one song after a month, how far will I go in a few years? =3

Well, in a little less than two weeks, I'll be flying overseas to France for a few days because of a super insane special that the airlines had to promote air travel on the week of September 11th. A few hundred bucks to go to France, vs the normal price of like, $3,000+!! I couldn't pass that up. That's like the opportunity of a lifetime.

I'll be visiting with  amiralaesir and touring around as many places as the short time frame will allow.I hope it'll be a good trip, but the main part that sucks is the 14 hour flight in which I'll be flying at night, so I'll arrive without a good night of sleep and cramped up from sitting in those tiny chairs for that long. I'm only going to bring one carry on bag with me, and hope that I have better luck than my brother who always gets finger raped by customs when he travels, haha. And hey, if I run out of clean clothes, there's something to be said for running around naked like a banshee! Of course I'll take gobs of pictures for everyone to see. (NOT of me naked, LOL) But expect me to look like a raccoon in all of the snaps, since I look terrible when I'm out of my environment and sleep deprived XD ..braaaiinnss...*marches around with her arms out*

Getting down to business.
Originally I had three entries for my contest, which would have been a perfect number since there was three main winner slots. Well at the last second, I had some wonderful contributions from abluedeer and pandagu both, and their pieces were so stunning, I've made the decision..that everyone will get a piece in return from me as part of my giant mural ballroom dance scene! Sound like a copout? Naah! Everyone worked so hard and deserves it.

How the prizes will work:
I will draw and color the picture for you and upload it to my account with a plain white background. I'll do each piece in the order that they won, and once all of them are complete and uploaded, I will then place them in the total image of the ballroom scene, and upload the final, everyones characters, full background. I'll have a low res version available on FA, and a high res available on request, since I expect this to be a bloody huge total drawing.

Wild, passionate, full of the motion I was looking for, my Zephyr and her fursona caught up in the throes of a country dance, enjoying one of the main recreational activities (and one of the only!) they had in that era. The dresses were beautiful, and her use of perspective and the sheer amount of folds in that dress, just wow. She's amazing. It definitely makes me wish I lived in such a time and place!

Anyways. Tonight my son got a little bit too curious about my camera, and broke it. This was a very devestating blow to me, since it was only a year and a half old, and me not having a camera is worse than missing a limb. This is very interesting. I think that too many times in life, we settle for people who aren't best for us because we have low self esteems, that say even if we CAN find the person who would be perfect for us, they won't want us. Or in the opposite, we want to get into a relationship with someone, and we know we have flaws that we just don't want to give up. (I.E "I love them, but I love this more, and I just don't want to give up this for someone" )

I think alot of people in the fandom settle for whoever is there and seems willing in the moment for a variety of reasons. You're lonely, they seem to understand you, you have physical needs, there's an emotional void, or what have you. They're exciting, they give you attention, they listen to you, but then after a month or two they're distracted, they get short with you, and you wind up hurt. I think that even when we do find a relationship and we're unhappy in alot of major ways, we ignore the red flags because the world seems like a scary place that we don't want to leave our comfort zones for. Even though those zones aren't really comfortable at all. In fact, it's the opposite, our situations drive us mad, but we stay in them because it's what we're used to and it seems like a better alternative than putting ourselves out there with the chance of falling on our faces. Or worse, we tell ourselves this is the best we'll ever get, so we might as well settle for it because it's there.

I think alot of people would have happier lives if they stopped looking for something to hold them over in the moment, and started looking for that someone they could really see themselves with their whole lives. Even the people who SAY its not their goal to have a lifetime monogamous relationship will date someone, get very attached, and then when it ends they're miserable. But they don't want to feel like they failed, so they say "Well it was just a fling anyways" and then go and rebound and get themselves stuck in a vicious cycle of self abuse out of emotional pain that needs to be taken care of before getting involved with anyone new.

The thing is, that's a practice that takes years. There's no magical shortcut to the perfect relationship, but most of us don't want to invest years into building a solid relationship. Even though the majority of people in this fandom are young, we want what we want NOW, and we get itchy and edgy when we feel like we're wasting the best years of our lives on something, when we could have instant gratification instead. Only, it's not so gratifying, is it?

None of this has anything to do with me, my best friend broke up with her fiance this week and I've been counseling her and we've been having alot of dicussions about what relationships are and what love is, and when sacrifice is okay, and when self sacrifice turns into abuse. That sort of thing. I could go on and on about the topic, but I don't want this to turn into a TL;DR, I just thought that link would be useful to some people
