The other day there was a WTF scenario going on that had me and several other people concerned because it involved animal abuse. It turned out that the account was made as a rather sick April fools joke (that was actually made on the 3rd, and the event happened on the 6th) and I was told that I was over reacting by researching the person in-depth so I could contact the police about it. But that's not the point of this post. It's a lead up.

The account sharked in other people than myself, including someone who will go unnamed that is infamous for the fact they attracts drama, instigate it, perpetuates it, and revels in it. We'll call them X and Y.

X was the infamous one for drama, Y was the one who created the joke account. Now X starts badmouthing Y and insulting them. Y is very nice about it and even tries to diffuse the situation by complimenting X, telling X that they have GOOD art, GOOD talent, but that all of their drama holds them back from being a better artist and going somewhere.

Now, this whole thing turned into a real dramafest, in which X kept being a snot, and Y kept trying to say it's nothing personal, continuing the compliments, and still trying to make X see that they didn't have to be a drama whore. And then of course X broadcasted the whole thing and got their minions involved. I'm on the side of Y here and I respect the fact they tried to be point blank with X. X showed how petty they are by giving stupid come backs that didn't even sound like X registered what was being said to them.

This whole thing lead up to making me wonder about something. Why is it that when artists are popular, REGARDLESS of what talent they may or may not have, that so many people suck up to them? I've thought about this in a circular clause. You have an artist that gets recognized as being popular.
**NOTE** This is not ALWAYS the case, but SOMETIMES I've seen that:

Even when they're mean, people suck up to them so that they themselves might get some recognition in return. The popular artist then lets the popularity get to their head, they get meaner to people who aren't their minions so they have someone to snark on, their art LOSES quality, and they start focusing less on becoming a better artist, and more about keeping their popularity while subjugating others. Well since they've gained the title of popular, even when people start losing interest in them because they stop doing art, rather than turn their attention elsewhere, they keep giving attention to the drama artist, which makes it worse instead of giving them a wake-up call that they need to get their art together.

What I'm trying to say is that if you lose respect for someone and lose interest, you don't HAVE to keep sheeping to them. Yes, they're popular, but guess what? That popularity might be fake because even though people don't like them anymore, they keep giving them attention anyways. If YOU'RE doing that, then who else might be doing the same thing? Maybe their whole following is of people who don't care about their art anymore but keep sheeping anyways. You don't have to do that. And it reaches a certain point where if the artist gets so drama-infested, why would you want to be associated with them anyways? Do you really want to be a groupie and get fake affection from someone just to get a shout-out, or to get free art, when you could be investing that same amount of time into getting real friends, or making your art fantastic to become popular yourself through your own means? You could be popular because you rock! Invest your time in yourself, and the results will follow naturally!

I don't know if that'll make sense to anyone else, but it's just a rant. I'm very black and white with things, if I don't like someones art, I tell them so, but it has nothing to do with me not liking the person who made it. Whereas conversely, if I don't like the person but I like their art, I'll also tell them. My point is, I'm a very ballsy person. I was raised in New York, and I speak my mind and give my opinion point blank to people. This gets me in trouble alot, because more often than not people get their feelings hurt or think it's a personal attack, when my words are JUST an opinion. It's not an emotional game, it's not an insult, it's a sterile opinion from an objective party. And on the flip side of THAT, when people tell me THEIR opinion, I take it with a grain of salt and thank them for taking the time out of their schedule to say anything at all to me, positive or negative. I LIKE both, because one reinforces me, one challenges me. Either way, HEY, I just got some notice and I got a snippets of someones day. It's beautiful to have someone take time out of their day to say something to you, regardless of what they say. Anything can be made into something positive, if in no other way then making it a learning experience of what not to do, lol.

I think more people would be happier with themselves if they spoke their mind, too, and were more true to themselves and who they are. Then maybe less people would get blind worship, and more people would get recognized for their true talent. Why would you want blind worship anyways? Wouldn't you rather go to bed at night knowing whatever praise you got, that you deserved it and worked hard for it?

Ah well, end rant.

I went and got Sushi today, and saw 300 at the Imax (LOVE Frank Miller, UNF), and in the spirit of the movie, since I'm no where near completing the pair of staves I'm working on building from scratch, I went and bought some throwing knives to practice with. About five or six years ago, I used to be REALLY good with these suckers, but I'm so badly out of pratice it's not even funny XD

I thought I'd entertain y'all with videos none the less. I landed them in all three of these, which you can see pretty well in the first one, but in the second one, it was a clean land - except the piece of bark it rooted in fell off the tree, lol, and in the one where you can see me, you can't see the knife landing in the tree well. But I thought these would be amusing nonetheless. Woo! I also robin hooded a few of them, where my knife hit where one was already landed and knocked the other one out while staying in itself hahaha

And don't worry, that tree's been dead for years.

Soo it looks like I can finally join the round of people who say "my scanner broke" = P
The light arm went out, which I'm assuming it did so because of the million and one sketches I scanned for my art LJ, since it hasn't worked since then. Bah. If it were ANY other issue I could take it apart and fix it myself (Like I've had to do countless times on the POS, lol) but that's irrepairable except by manufacturer, especially since the bulbs have mercury in them ::rolls her eyes::

This won't stop me from doing art, as I can take pictures of my sketches with my digital camera, BUT it does keep the pictures from being completely accurate, which means I can't work on any comic pages until I've got a new one, AND it means my art will irritate me because I'll see the infestimal details of the perspective being skewed, which throws -everything- off proportionally

Scanners are pieces of crap in general, they break so easy it's ridiculous. The epson I had broke the first month I got it, and I used up my service plan at Best Buy getting it replaced, so no more service plan where I can just bring it in and say "the light broke" and use the SP to get a new one. Dang the system! And dang me, because I used to work there so I should have known better and bought ANOTHER service plan at the time. Then again, it's been enough time that I bet the service plan would have expired by now even had I re-bought it. If I still worked there, I could cheat, but I don't. Bah.

Of course, I didn't think that was a big deal, because I have two other scanners in storage, but Lo and Behold when I get them out and hook them up, they're broken too *grumble,mumble,grumble* That on top of my son being sick all week has put me in a foul disposition.

In other news, WOO, the strawberries in my garden are red and a day away from being able to be eaten. I can't wait to feed them to my little boy ^_^! *squeals*
and my carrot patch has gotten gigantic this last week o.o

We had a tornado today in the area, just a wee one, but it's still pretty crazy outside. I went to Arlington today where it wasn't so bad, but in NRH by my house the winds were horrible. All the streetlights lost power on rufe snow, there were a few accidents, and I saw an old building lose all the plank work on it, not to mention tons of stuff got knocked down whole.

I'm sooo used to tornadoes happening here, but dust really clogged my allergies something fierce. Since there's so few trees in the city now, everything turned into a giant dust bowl. The sky was the most muddy color I've ever seen in my life, so of course I got pictures of the sky right above my house, lol

My plants outside are all fine, even the rosemary and the peppermint I just put down, but the part that sucks is the wind blew my lunch out of my hands in its to-go styrofoam container, and all my food went bye bye in a big cloud of murphy >.>

1. I ALWAYS have a song going through my mind, from the very beginning of it, until the song is done playing mentally. Even during the most serious discussions I have with people, there's always a tune that defies the moment running its course as if I had a radio in my brain.
2. I can't sleep with covers on my feet, or tucked into a bedspread. I have to sleep on my side with covers crammed against the front of my body, and a blanket loosely draped over me from shoulders to calves
3. I walk on the sides of my feet, and the toes. I have awful back problems, so I never put my feet flat when I walk. This also gives me a ninja effect, and I'm told nobody can hear a sound when I walk up behind them. I use this to scare my friends XD
4. Metal music puts me to sleep, but the softer the sound when I'm trying to go to bed, the more impossible it is for me to fall asleep. A single cricket chirping in the frog tank is the worst culprit of this, and many nights I have to get up to fish them out and throw them outside.
5. I don't drink by letting a cup pour liquid into my mouth, I hold the cup to my lips and then suck my drink. This always gives me terrible hiccups, but whenever I try to drink normally, I spill all over myself XD
6. Sometimes I think too fast when I'm talking and my mind makes up words. Like if I'm trying to say "That was great! It was a blast!" Sometimes what comes out is, "That was a grast!"

First, I have an intel E6300 for sale if anyone wishes to make any offers.

Secondly, I was flipping through my sketchbook today, and I realized that I draw FAR more than I post. Like, for every ten drawings I make, I post only one. Should I post more of these, even if they're only sketches? Or would it clog my gallery with too many uncolored pictures.

Better yet, should I just color them and THEN post them? I constantly have so many ideas, I only finish a few of them with coloring and etc and spend most of my artistic time just pumping out sketch after sketch. Maybe I should have a sketch of the day journal, since I do three drawings every day..

The internet is sooo sloooowww right now. I would normally take this time to get out of the house, but the dreaded cramps of doom have visited their wrath upon me, and so I'm huddling in front of a computer in misery and boredom. And no one is updated! How dare you not entertain me! *giggles*

Ah, well. My gardening projects are going good outside. My weeping willow tree and Sakura tree are in the process of blossoming, though my other trees and my 73248932 plants are still chugging along. The strawberry and beet plants are almost ready to be eaten, woohoo!

I've also been in a hankering to build something lately, and since a greenhouse would be too expensive, I'm thinking of building a chicken coop and going to the stockyards and getting a few baby chickens to raise into egg bearing beasties. Hm. One of my neighbors raises chickens and has a cockerel that crows religiously every morning. I'll probably go by their place to take a look at the setup they have first, but I have in mind what I want. Glee.

Man. It's such a nice day, though. Maybe I'll hobble a little bit to take my son on a walk in his stroller. He loves the lake.

So even though I had a busy weekend going rock climbing and to school and such, tonight I wanted to take Gabriel out, so my whole family and I went to a local place called Let's Jump, which is a giant warehouse full of moon bounce obstacle courses, slides, basketball bounce courts, etc. I am sooo worn out and have rubber burns all over me from chasing after my nieces and taking Gabriel through the courses, but man was it a blast. I got pictures and videos, for those who want to see me making an idiot out of myself = P

My muscles are already screaming bloody murder XD!

Omgosh. I'm so horribly touched that I'm sniffly!

Erin sent me a Valentines day card in the mail, even though I see her fairly often, (but never enough!) telling me how happy she is to have her as her honorary sister ;-;!

This week was going to suck, but now I can't wipe the grin off my face. It really reminded me just how blessed my life is, and I've gone from dreading the upcoming holiday, to having a boosted appreciation of everything that I DO I have. I swear, you know that you're lucky when it's not just loving friends you're surrounded by, but when you have a sister like her that'll always be there. *melts* Haha, now I'm getting the card all soggy..

Okay. So I've had to rant about alot of things lately about fcktards screwing up nature and acts of nature. What the retards are doing to the amazon for gold mining. The fact that now they're breeding babies from test tubes to give them the hair color and eye color that you pay for. But this one just takes the fcking cake.

There's a city here that's one of the usual hoity toity suburbian areas. It's one of those pissing subdevelopements that buys out 100 acres of land, then plows it all to orange dirt, and then builds these nasty brown McMansion houses that are made of material as strong as plywood, but go for millions of dollars. Anyways, in this area, they have a park there they built, and then in the lane breaks (two foot wide, 30 foot long bits of grass in cemented off areas to seperate the roads) they have trees scattered. Now, first off, the land area before then was forest. Verdant, shaded forest. Now all the original trees are gone, they DESTROYED them, and put in new crappy piss ones.

So Texas is the "south for the winter" that birds go to. It's warmer here, and we get flocks of all sorts of birds. Mockingbirds, crows, blue jays, canaries, chickadees, morning doves, pigeons, seagulls, whatever. We have tons of birds here constantly going through. So this spot in the suburban area had alot of birds roosting there every night on their way to wherever else they go. Apparently, the fact that the birds crapped on GRASS in their park, and on the grass in the cement blocks, pissed off Cap'n Lawyer Tard and Mistress McBoobjob, so now this stupid city got the fcking animal control department to shoot of PROPANE CANNONS EVERY 30 SECONDS at the trees to scare the birds off, and will be doing it all week to keep them from roosting there permanently.

What. The. FCK!? OMG. Every time I think I've heard it all, I see something new and DETESTIBLE on the news that humanity has done to find yet another way to freaking screw up the planet. BIRDS WERE HERE FIRST, JERK WADS. ANIMALS WERE HERE FIRST. STOP PLOWING LAND, STOP KILLING ANIMALS, STOP FCKING WITH THE ECOSYSTEM.

The other day, I saw a COYOTE the size of my aussie stuck in the middle of a busy road, scared spitless and dodging cars because a week ago they plowed another area that used to be land to BUILD A SHOPPING CENTER that has THE SAME STORES as another shopping center TWO MILES AWAY. gahd DANG it I want out of fcking America. But you know what?! There's no wilds even LEFT to escape to anymore!

I swear, if I had the money, I'd move out to the boondocks of Japan where there's lakes and mountains, and buy SO MUCH LAND that anyone ever wanting to develope it in the future wouldn't be able to come within 500 miles of me, and I wouldn't sell it no matter WHAT the offer was. WRATH.

(omgosh I'm never going to be the same again. I literally screamed, cried, and was so scared in one scene I was shaking. and I am NOT that kind of person. nothing phases me. i'm stoic beyond all rhyme or reason. but this movie.. fck. go see it.)

Last night was a whole lot of fun for me. My friend Kitra hosted her birthday party at a place called Bone Daddy's, where all the staff there are short teenage girls who wear next to nothing, and are infested with eating disorders, but the food was good in spite of that, lol. It was sort of a bar joint, with alot of televisions set, and some big game was on, so it wasn't just our group being rowdy and noisy for once, and it made it easier for us since we didn't have to try to tone it down. About twenty people showed up to the resteraunt, and usually though I sit next to Kitra and her fiance Sarah, this time I plopped at the other end of the table where I could chit-chat with Erin, Cudjo, Misty and my friends Wuf and Siscily. It was a great time in spite of the sucky service there; those anorexic teens all had serious attitude problems because they needed to eat a sandwich, and every time you asked for a refill, they would just give you a valley girl blow-off, lol..Silly girls. You wouldn't be so angry if you weren't starving yourself!

After we all ate, we went back to K&S's apartment, and had cake and played the board game Apples to Apples. They had V for Vendetta playing in the background, which I was watching for awhile, but then they insisted I play the game too and they shut it off XD Ah well! I'll get that DVD eventually. I liked the movie, in spite of Natalie Portman botching it up and the fact it wasn't even close to the plot of the book. No movie based on a book ever is, though n_n

For a bit of the after party, Kitra, Misty, Erin and I all went upstairs to her bedroom so Kitra could show Erin some of the BDSM and sex toys Kitra owns, which had Erin in a frenzy of blushes that was just adorable beyond words, lmao. They got into another serious discussion about the local scene, and I drifted downstairs to sit back down in the game room. When they all came back, birthday spankings abounded, and Sarah gave Erin so many spankings with a nylon flogger than she knocked the alarm clock off the tv stand behind her, haha! After all that was the game, and I got to snuggle in a squishpile with Erin and Misty while we played. I didn't win, but it was a blast and I'm glad Kitra forced me to join in the round. I amused myself between rounds by teasing Erin = P

Also, in spite of the fact it wasn't even *my* birthday, I got bombarded with gifts from all my friends. Wuf & Siscily bought me dinner, Guardian gave me a massive Lion King poster backed on cardboard, of Simba and Nala snuggling by the waterfall. Cudjo gave me like 8 Inu Yasha DVD's, Full Metal Panic, Amazing Nurse Nanako, and the first DVD of Girls Bravo. He also gave me a Little Mermaid bracelet, but the Ariel fell off at Kitra's house! I'm going to have to ask her to keep an eye out for it so her pet bird doesn't get to it. It's got lip balm on the inside, so that could be bad, lol.. Erin also gave me the Hakufu figurine she bought for me, and it's more lovely in person than it was online. I'm so excited about it, and it's with my Ryofu statue from the same series (Ikki Tousen, or Battle Vixens for those who know it). The funniest part is that the boobs on the figurine are actual pliable and squishy, unlike the hard cast resin of the rest of the statue, lol! We all had fun pushing on them for awhile when I took it out of the box, haha

That's about it now. I'm helping my brother with some stuff for his business right now, and hopefully I can talk him into going to lunch with me, but it usually doesn't take more than mentioning sushi to get him to go out to my favorite resteraunt with me XD

Oh, and Erin did love her present! I can talk about it now that she has it, but I got her a real gold/diamond/amethyst necklace that she squee'd over, (and don't worry, I got it on sale, I wouldn't have been able to afford it at full price, haha) and some bath and body works stuff. Cudjo gave her a DVD copy of The Last Unicorn, and now I want to go re-watch my copy. There's another party going on this saturday that I'm going to try to make it to since it's only ten minutes away and Erin might be bringing her new girlfriend, but I still have to see. I don't know if I can get my mom to babysit Gabriel again so soon after the party yesterday, especially since I'm going out of town for a day on the 1st of Feb.. I might go just long enough to poke my head in and grab some hugs. And now I've talked waay too much. Woo!

I totally hope Erin likes the gift I got her for birthday XD...She told me not to get anything, but I splurged anyway *cackles* Sunday night I'm going to a massive local party with all my friends to celebrate Kitra's birthday, and it just seems like everyones birthday falls in the same time of this month and same day. Yeesh! I just did a picture for Jess as well, and happy birthday to her!

The first person I ever liked and had a high school psuedo-dating thing going on with had their birthday on the 14th of this month, and I wanted to call him up like I do every year to say happy birthday, but all their information changed and I wasn't able to track down any new contact numbers. Sigh. I hate losing touch with people who were important to me and signifigant in my life.

Slumsy had made a comment on the last picture I drew of the kitsune that the hips weren't looking right to him because they were smaller than the shoulders, so I, in all my I have to prove a point self, lol, made a video

Sadly, my stomach looks pudged there, but it's the lens of the camera responsible for that, lol..on a side view, it doesn't look like that XD But, my point is made. I know that in art, especially cartoon art, accuracy doesn't MATTER, the embellishments are what makes it lovely, and disproportionate bodies illustrated do look quite stunning, but this is more out of self defense for the fact I stick true to life, lol

Blah! The entire weekend Gabriel was soo sick with some sort of cold/flu/allergy problem, and it was a nightmare. Sorry to those of you who I haven't had a chance to comment to or talk with, the last four days I haven't even gotten a chance to sleep or catch my breath, let alone be on a computer, lol..

The poor little woogie was just so miserable, but he seems to be getting better now. He's still in the fussy groggy stage, but at least he doesn't sound like Lucille Ball at age 70 now when he coughs. He's finally at the point where he's sleeping peacefully again instead of waking up every ten minutes from hacking, so I'm glad it's almost completely healed up. I'm not used to seeing my sweet little guy suffering, the whole ordeal broke my heart, and it's left ME sick and exhausted now XD

That she's always a unicorn girl. That's just her winter solstice form, she's actually that only one day a year in the story arcs, but I like drawing her as it more than that

I would have said her boobs, but I gained those from having a baby, haha..so, her hair

Since I don't have the talent to create music myself like others out there, *winks* and everyone liked the song I emailed out last time from New Zealand, I want to do a weekly thing where I email mp3's that I enjoy to anyone who wants them. The only thing they'll have in common is that they won't be something you'd normally hear in mainstream circles, so, if you want me to put you on a list for random mp3's every week, let me know!

Also, since I'm such a pirating thief, yarr!, if anyone's trying to find a particular song they like, I probably have it XD

Last night, even though it had already gotten to be about 10 or so, I decided I still wanted to try to make it out to the annual furry New Year's bash here that everyone local always goes to, and boy I'm glad I did! All of my friends were already there and having a rearing good time, and so slipping into the festitivies was a breeze. Kitra brought the Christmas present she'd made for me, a beaauutiful hematite and rose quartz necklace featuring the cat goddess Bastet on it (custom tailored for me!) and I must say, it's more beautiful than even her description of it had been. I didn't drink any this year (I've had bad experiences with drunken new years in the past, lol) but in those kind of atmospheres, you don't have to drink to get into a crazy mood XD

I got a bunch of New Years smooches! Most notably was that of my new friend Erin,  jaiyikendra and I think it had her blushing for a good ten minutes. Hah! Didn't know I had that effect on women! She even let me play with her feet a bit, as she's always wearing the most sexy sandals. I'm so jealous that she can get away with that, I have giants feet, lol. Darn you for being so alluring and good at what you do! It's my goal to give her a proper foot massage at some point. I don't have a foot fetish, but they're so beautifully arched even normal mortals can't resist!

And then after the ball dropped, we all mingled around and chit chatted with one another, reminiscing on old stories, and watching people make merry with themselves (seriously, wooo) I'm still fairly out of it right now, but to everyone, Happy New Year! I'm thinking of doing a drawing for the occassion this afternoon. I still have to post up Zekumas' picture. Hmm.

The fact that it's 2007 is still highly shocking to me. The other day I went to half price books and in the old science fiction section, got a first edition print on a book called Doomsday 1999, obviously about the world ending in that year. It was written in the 30's, and it had me laughing so hard I got a stitch in my side. Even Kitra had made a rant along the lines that people shouldn't predict the future or say something is set in stone, but she was mostly angry that we don't have functional deloreans like in Back to the Future, haha..

As to the resolutions of this year..Well. Getting my life into order, and all the things that that entails. Now that I'm getting my old figure back, I want to also step it up a notch and get back into bellydancing with the rest of the girls, and see about getting lessons for the piano and to further my learning of Japanese. Craigslist always has tons of private tutors for cheap in the area, and I can most definitely afford that. The bellydancing, Kitra has been beating me over the head to get back into anyways. Just have to figure out how I could do it and church as well, since they clash at the same time on Sunday's.
