Hey Everyone,

A lot has been been happening. And I'll follow up more as the month goes on.


But After almost 2 weeks, I'm still positive with covid and still feeling nasty. Thankfully doing a lot better than originally feeling at the start. But still feeling really run down. Just getting back into the swing of things.


Been working hard on the Halloween YCHs that had to take a backseat while having covid. And am now getting back into a somewhat normal rhythm again. It's not there yet, but almost back to 100 %.

May 20, 2023:

Time for a few updates that's happened in the last four days and a bit of shameless self-promotion.

Updates first: My father in law how now been moved to the convalescent in the city over from us. Unfortunately there was no support in the home town. So there's that. And good news is that they have an extensive plan to rehab and physio him. And he'll be there for 2 months on the government's dime. So I'm so happy that this is looking up finally. His cognitive is still not there but we're hoping with the chance in environment something may start again.


Also to further my art journey and help my family more. Well, it's been a long while since I last updated. And unfortunately a lot has happened. Not all of which is good. In fact, probably less good then anything else. Since our last update, my FIL took a positive turn around. My husband worked really hard to get him rehabbed to a point that we could put him into temporary convalescence care. This is a government program that the government pays for that gives my father in law a few months to get the physio and everything he needs so that he can come home. And as we finally got approved for this program and he was due to transfer out by tomorrow, he took a downhill slide in his conjunctive. And now we're at a loss at what to do. He's not realizing he's in the hospital. He's starting to think he's at his nephew's house and that they are partying. It's not a good sign, and is beginning to look like more and more that we'll have to put him into LTC. Unfortunately financially that's not a good option, but medically, it might be the only option. We're at a loss what to do. Honestly not sure where we will go from here. We're hurting financially and are stressed beyond belief to figure out what our next steps are. I'm sorry to vent this here. And this is just meant to update those who want to know what's been happening.

I've been trying to find flexible, part-time work from home work options. Due to the fact that I am a caregiver for my young autistic son who is currently home schooling with online learning, and will be transitioning back next year. And further more, he has struggled in the past with being able to stay a full day, so I've always had to be available at the drop of hat if the school called for support. And because I am a full time care giver to my sweet boy, I am unable to look for anything full time.

Trying to help with my family financially, I've worked very hard to open my Ko-Fi shop with the release of my first 8 designs as stickers. Then a few weeks later, I opened my second shop on Etsy. I am trying my best to do whatever I can to help my family. But feeling very stressed at the moment and definitely is taking a big toll of my hubby at the moment. He's taken the full brunt of everything currently.

Mini Update:


Hey Everyone, here's the latest update on my Father In Law. Well on Friday, the "Care Co-Ordinator" at the hospital spoke to my FIL about plans to get out of the hospital. Bare in mind, he hasn't done any rehab in the last week that he's been in the Therapy Ward to help rehab him because everytime he does anything to strain himself, his blood pressure drops and he has a seizure. So for the last week, he's been bed bound. So of course when hubby heard this, he was upset because my FIL is not even half way to close to being ready to come home. We cannot provide the care he needs in the least and we are 20 plus mins from town. And he expressed this to the Care Co-Ordinator... so now he has a meeting on Tuesday with this person and our attending (who is also our family) doctor about this issue. So fingers crossed that they don't try to push him out. But the Care Co-Ordinator before this meeting was set basically told my husband you have 3 options, he goes home, he going into Long Term Care until he's able to go home or going into a 24hr care facility that is like 5000/month (which no one in my family can afford). So right now, everything is still up in the air until Tuesday on what happens with my FIL and I'm heart broken because he's not ready. He needs to get stronger and rehab which he will not get a long term care facility.

Hey Everyone,


Thanks to everyone sending their well wishes over the last few weeks. Though things are still stressful on the home front, my FIL is doing better. Not wanting to jinx it, but they've moved him from ICU to a physical therapy ward at our local hospital. It's improvements after a lot of set back but we are so thankful.

Unfortunately it's not much of an update but it's a good one for sure. And we are truly happy. I can't believe we're about to go into week 4 of him being in the hospital but am so happy he is on the road to recovery after so many set backs.

Hey Everyone,


Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend? What did you all get up to? How do you all celebrate?

Considering the circumstances, my boys and I tried our best to make the most of it. The Easter Bunny came and visited my youngest and game him a large plushie he's been asking for. As well as a case of his favourite drink Peace Tea Peach and some chocolate. And we got to enjoy a family big breakfast with their dad (aka hubby) yesterday for the first time in 2 weeks. Because Hubby has been back and forth to the hospital so much, he hasn't been able to here with us for dinner so we decided to make Easter Breakfast something special before he went back to the hospital to see his dad.

Whereas my father in law, well, unfortunately not a lot of change. He's not gotten worse, nor has he gotten better. He's just in a holding pattern. He's still not able to move much, he has none of his own strength. He has moment of not recognizing anything and he still talks, but not like he normally does before this happened. So it's neither good news, nor is it bad news. It's just news. That's all. ((If you're just reading this for a first time, the info at the bottom of this entry has more details but trigger warning to those who can't handle this type of thing.))

So try to help supplement more income for my family, I'm working on making both a Ko-Fi shop for stickers, keychains, pins etc. And an Esty shop for apparel and designs that aren't apart of my normal brand of art and design. At least that's the plans in the works at the moment. Unfortunately, come this week, this will be the third week my husband is off work unpaid and we're definitely getting nervous about bills. So we're trying to figure stuff out.

Hope things are doing well? Hope everyone has a great Easter Weekend who celebrate Easter. And I'd like to Thank Everyone for all your sweet bday wishes. I do beyond appreciate it. Aside from some family drama, my birthday was fantastic. I got to celebrate with my boys and hubby and they got me all my favourites. I had special desserts which included Eclairs (one of my personal favourites. As well as Chinese food. Chinese Food is my favourite meal to have for my birthdays and my family never disappoints to make the day special.

Now time for the Trigger Warning, for those who don't want to read someone else's strife, which I totally understand, do not read further.
On Monday March 27, 2023: the day after I celebrated my bday with my hubby, boys and father in law, he had to be rushed to hospital. Early in the morning we heard a loud bang and we rushed to check on my father in law. My FIL was breathing but not responsive. So we called 911 and he was taken to emergency. After a few CT scans, it was the determined a new bleed on the brain had happened on the original site of a prior bleed from 2 - 3 years ago. He struggled to speak and overall not great shape. When the bleed stopped, he started to recover slowly. He started to eat a bit, talk a bit more and recognize people more. That is until Saturday April 1, 2023, he took a huge back slide. He developed an edema over night, which is swelling on the brain which caused his brain to shift positions. So by Sunday, the docs gave him meds to reduce the swelling and then they noticed on another CT scan that 2 new bleeds have happened. Though I'm not sure if the bleeds have stopped since then or the swelling is gone, I do know that the docs aren't liking the progress he's made this week. He still can't use his own muscle strength to move and he's still not able to speak much. Though the docs are talking with my hubby and his sis about what comes next, I am trying to stay hopeful that he comes away from this and comes home to us again. I know the odds aren't good but I have to stay hopeful. I don't want to lose him, I don't want my SIL and hubby to lose him or my sons to lose him.
And currently we are struggling financially. Hubby has been off for the last two weeks with no pay and we're trying to get things sorted out, but we don't know how long he'll be off for. If you are unable to help, that's a-okay. I totally understand and still appreciate reading my journal, and appreciate all the positive thoughts you give to me and mine during this difficult time.

As you all know, Covid-19 has been terrorizing many and changing lives left right and center. I hope you are all coping well in the light of social distancing and shut downs to control the outbreak. There has never been a day I don't wonder how all my friends, my DA Family and followers are doing. I know some are in cities hit hard by this virus and others in cities that are just starting to feel the pinch.

Even my family is starting to feel the pinch. My boys are off school currently until April 5th, but that is subject to change at any time. My 70 year father in law lives with us, and my husband is immunocompromised, so we are worried as well about them getting infected. And recently we've had confirmed cases in our hometown.

I'm still here, just my time has been eaten up more with my sons' attention because they want to keep busy when they're not allowed to play with friends. So art may be slow. And replies to comment, replies or notes, just as slow. I am still here and am always open for talk. I do love hearing from you. And your comments brighten my day when I feel down because of everything happening.

Now for some personal updates:
My hands are still continuing to have issues. So the splints don't seem like they are helping. So still one step at a time. I'm working on the 6 month wait period.

My boys are doing good. Still thriving in school. My eldest son is taking art in school and I got to be a special guest presenter. Comment on this journal if you'd like to know all the gory details and the oops I had during the first class.

And as for my hubby, well physically he's getting better. His back is still having the odd pain. But the back surgery in 2016 definitely made worlds of improvement.
But unfortunately last week we found out that in July 2020, his company will be closing the call center in our town and they'll be laying off nearly 400 employees. We're crossing our fingers that the call center will get a new client before the deadline and for now he'll be working as hard as he can there to stay in good standing with the call center management.

I hope you are all having a good start to your holiday ramp up. Hope all your shopping is done. Unfortunately I've been really quiet because I've been sick for the last 3 weeks to a month. And though I've tried to stay active and positive, this illness has taken a toll on me. I've had to cancel all my current Christmas plans because of it. But I'm still plugging away. I am not going to let my kids suffer because of me being sick ^^ So if I am quiet for awhile, I am just resting, relaxing and working on commissions through all of this.

Finally finished uploading my old art from 2015. Thankfully it was a small digital collection ^^ And it was nice to go through my old art. Many of us draw our art, and don't necessarily go back and reflect our evolution until we do redraws, etc. It was nice to see how I restarted my artistic life after an over 10 year hiatus. Well I guess that this is my first journal ever on here. Normally I don't do journals. Normally I don't have a lot to say. But Either way, I'd thought I'd write something.
