Update: My Writing
Posted 12 years agoHey guys ^_^
Last journal was a bit heavy, I realize; I had a lot of things to get off of my chest, and I'm glad I did. This journal is a bit more light-hearted, for those of you who want to know how I've been spending my time when I get writing time in. I know I briefly talked about it in my last journal, but I figured I'd get a bit more in-depth with it.
My latest project is called "The Hero Series," which is an eBook series of short stories/novellas involving superheroes. Each hero that I introduce to the public has their own book series in a way, but in the way Marvel and DC Comics does it (they all live and interact in the same universe).
I began writing them as a way for me to test out the Kindle Direct waters, in which the turnout has been actually rather decent. I'm still growing my fanbase though, which is understandable given the fact that I only started publishing the stories February of this year.
I've released three stories so far, each introducing the three patriarchal heroes of the universe before I branch off and write more. Each story is $2.99, only on Amazon Kindle (I'll branch out elsewhere as soon as I figure out how). Right now, I'm on a publishing break until August, to concentrate on writing and marketing these three/the next set of stories I'll be releasing later this year. The three stories that are currently available for purchase are:
The Man Called X: Eye of the Storm
The Innovator: Lick, Stick, Pour
Heka: The Carnage of Kaupe
I know that not everyone has a Kindle or a tablet to read eBooks from. So if you fall under that category and still wish to read the stories, click here and you can download a program that will allow you to read eBooks on your computer. If you choose to support my work (which you have my thanks and appreciation for), and you like what you've read, I ask that you please leave a rating and review on the books respected Amazon page to help me out.
Thanks in advance, guys. I really appreciate this. ^_^

Seriously, Guys. I'm Still Alive. XD
Posted 12 years agoHey all. ^^
Sorry I've been inactive on FA for so long as far as uploading stuff. I know a lot of you guys were wondering why I've just limited my visitations to just art faving and the like as opposed to anything else. Truth is, a lot has happened over the course of the year I've been "gone," sort of speak, and things have calmed down since then to the point that I feel comfortable sharing it with you guys if you want to know what's been going on.
Last February, I was forced to move out on my own a bit earlier than I anticipated, due to my mother losing my family home to back taxes. I had an apartment lined up that I liked, but because I didn't get the funds on time I missed out on the lease. Fortunately my back-up plan fell through at a cheaper rate and I was able to move in immediately. Because of the sudden eviction, a lot of the things I needed and planned to purchase before I intended to move (mattress, bed frame, furniture, etc) had to be purchased over the course of my first year after setting up my budget for rent and bills, and things are now starting to get settled.
For those of you who are wondering about Shuuban, I regret to inform that the board is pretty much over. Over the course of the site's last year, I made a lot of stupid decisions and ruined some really good friendships that were developed. The result was the site being put on an indefinite hiatus a bit after I acquired internet access within my place, and making the active decision to stay away from administrating a board like that, and having that much power until I feel that I am responsible enough to use it. So if there's anyone reading this journal that falls under the category of those that I've hurt or betrayed, I am truly TRULY sorry.
So yeah, the forced move and the site at first were the main tolls. Then in June, my dad died. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer a year prior. At first, it looked like he was beating it. Then it flared up very bad and he started to lose muscle mass. It was hard for me to see him like that, and when he did pass I took it very hard. I loved my dad. He was always there for me, always supported me in everything I did, and accepted me when I came out to him (my mother to this day still doesn't know I'm bisexual, and I plan on keeping it that way). Then to make matters worse, my older brother was killed two months later in the Chrysler plant here in Michigan. 2012 was just a very bittersweet year for me.
I say bittersweet, because there have been silver linings. For those of you who have been wondering, I have not stopped writing. I've just been working on personal projects; projects that I'm in the process of trying to get out in the open in different ways. I do plan on finishing the second half of "Cutting Corners" Season 3, but it's gonna be a while. I'm sure its obviously known by now that
kokuhane and I are no longer together. But I am still good friends with both him and
charkonian, and wish the two of them the best. So I want to state that this is not the reason why I placed the series in extended hiatus. I want to grow in my craft in different genres and such, so I've been making my two projects the priority; one that I plan on soliciting to agents and publishing companies, and the second as a way of gaining an extra source of income immediately.
The latter is a series of superhero ebook novellas I'm writing and releasing on Amazon Kindle, called "Phantastic Stories." Over the course of this year, I'm gonna be releasing six 10-chapter novellas featuring different O.C. (original character) superheroes that reside in the same universe. Each of the six stories will connect in one form or fashion, leading up to a "Season Finale" I plan on releasing in December. If anyone's interested, the first novella's available already (
kokuhane did the cover art for me and its awesome! :D), and the second will be available the middle of next month. So if you have 3 bucks to spare, you can click here to get it. It'll be greatly appreciated.
But yeah, that's about it. I'll do my best to try and post some stuff up from time to time, at least until I'm ready to finish "Cutting Corners. And to those who decided to watch me due to my past works, thank you very much. It really means a lot to me, and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
Until the next journal, guys. Take care. ^_^

So Yeah, About AC...
Posted 14 years ago...I may not be going this year.
Earlier on probably around April, I had a plan to save what I needed to pay for my room and get there and back (which was definitely cheaper than what my ORIGINAL plan was in the beginning of the year when I made my room reservation). But then my car broke down last week and that plan basically went out the window.
Long story short, I ended up having to miss two days of work (which if I went, would've had enough to still consider heading out there) and ended up shelling out about 280 bucks for a new fuel pump and odometer fix. The good thing about it is that they fixed the leak in my gas tank for free because they found it after I paid them. lol
So I think that this was just a little setback; that I can easily make up for the cash I had to spend at the mechanic and the money I missed out on at work those two days when I put in for my unemployment claim, right?
Wrong.
I found out Monday that my benefits expired. In order for me to still collect, I have to file another claim, which I can't do until either Friday or Saturday. Good news about that is if they approve me in time, I should have a bit over 700 bucks from four weeks of not collecting for four weeks.
If I DO go on what I'll have, then I'll need to have someone crash with
Chark and I during the duration of the Con so that I can pay for the room. But they'd have to have the money to me either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning, since I'm supposed to check in that Wednesday. The irony of this is that I'll have the money to have been able to do everything I wanted on my own the Thursday/Friday of the Con, due to my job's week delay pay and Direct Deposit. At least I'll have enough money to get back home. lol
So yeah. Unless about 400 bucks drops in my lap in two weeks time, I'm probably not gonna go. Which sucks, because this year's theme is magic.
I like magic.
Ugh... ><

So I Watched The First Stargate Movie For The First Time...
Posted 14 years ago...and I don't think I like the concept.
I mean, the movie was okay. But still, the fact that the basis of the entire franchise is that alien life is behind every known mythology on our planet is very disheartening to me.
For example, I'm a big Egyptian Mythology nut. Like, if I wasn't so into things like Star Wars and DC Comics, people would probably know me by my love of Ancient Egyptian culture and the pantheon of gods. Watching Stargate and hearing that the alien race behind the belief on Earth was basically a race of parasite aliens that possessed bodies of other lifeforms to survive was kinda low. And they even incorporated the whole "The Pharaoh is the Avatar of the Gods" by having the leader of the alien race possess a human being and become the king over the humans they brought back from earth. It just completely ruined all of the mysticism and magical elements behind the mythology as a whole! Not to mention that the only gods portrayed in the movie were Ra, Anubis and Horus (which I won't go into).
But yeah, I think my curiosity over Stargate is pretty much settled. I'm just glad I never watched SG-1 or Atlantis; I don't think I could've handled the heartache. XD

Posted 14 years agoHey, guys! ^^
So I know that I've been inactive on FA for a while minus faving some pics here and there to keep my messages from overloading. And to everyone who was expecting the second half of Cutting Corners Season 3 to pick up in January, I deeply full-heartily apologize. I figured that when January got here, I would be in a place (mentally and financially) where I could spend time working on the rest of the project. Unfortunately, due to some obstacles you all know about from previous journals (see "It gets better...") and certain obstacles that only a selected hand-full of individuals know about and that I'm not really eager to share and make public knowledge, I was unable to fulfill that promise. And for that, I do apologize.
However, like the title of my previously mentioned journal stated, things have indeed gotten better. My car is functional, which allowed me to work a small part-time job at Scott's Lawn Service as a telemarketer for about two weeks to get my bills and such situated. And just recently, I was brought on by an employment agency to work a full-time position for OnStar as a Reacquisition Advisor. My first day was today and its going EXTREMELY well so far. So well, that I'll be able to move out into an apartment probably by April of this year.
If I so wish...
I only say that because renting out an apartment is no longer the only option I have. In a legal miracle, my grandmother's estate -- which my mother and I feared was foreclosed on by the state due to back taxes and the theft of water and electricity via a past tenant -- had at least 95% of the back taxes removed. All that there's to pay is about 550 dollars, and the property is mine. No mortgage, just a lot of home improvement projects (new water heater, new electrical work, renovations of certain rooms, etc.)
But it'll be worth it.
The time I found to write was spent on a personal project of mine that was hinted at a few journals ago. Unfortunately, I'm suffering from a bit of writers block and I'm at least 10 to 12 chapters from finishing it. So I'll be dedicating whatever time I find to write from now on finishing the Cutting Corners series. I can't give an exact date on when episode 11 will be released, but I promise it will be out before April of this year. I'm aiming for the second half of the third season to be 10 episodes long, and I will do my best to make sure each episode is just as entertaining as the past episodes.
Once again, I apologize for my inactivity. To those of you who still care about my work, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me this long. Once Cutting Corners is over, I'll be starting another Shuuban-related project and contemplating on the idea of story commissions just to see how it's possible. lol
Take care, guys. ^^

Oh... my God...
Posted 15 years agoI put myself through one of the most unrational tortures last night because deep down I'm a rather fair individual that gives some shit a chance, especially if it's something based off of shit I like.
So I decided to sit through all of the 2010 live action Tekken movie.
...ALL of it.
Now don't get me wrong; I didn't go into this suicide venture blindly. I knew that for the most part that the movie wasn't going to follow the story of the first game due to previous research on the movie back when it was in pre-production (I told you I was a movie buff. lol). For instance, Jin was the main character; something that didn't happen in the games until Tekken 3.
...But God damn it.
It was so shitty. Like SERIOUSLY. The plot was so cliche' and predictable, ALL of the characters they randomly included in the movie from the games had the wrong personalities, certain characters were put in relationship pair-ups that either didn't make sense or never would've happened, certain character relationship pair-ups that were established in the games were NEVER mentioned or hinted at in the movie, they shat on Marshall Law completely without even giving a courtesy flush and they completely destroyed my two favorite characters from the games: Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima. This was my face during the entire movie:
>:-I
About 30 minutes in, I said word-for-word "What the fuck am I watching...?" Every ten minutes afterward resulted in me closing my eyes and massaging the area between my eyebrows and the part of my nose bone between my eyes. Watching that movie made me sick to my stomach every time I saw the Jin Kazama/Christie Monteiro pairing (I know this consists of a spoiler, but I don't care anymore) among other bullshit that commenced throughout this shit-fest, I could feel my eyes start to water a bit. You can imagine that as soon as I was finished watching this movie, that I deleted the file AND the torrent I downloaded it from from my computer. At least I was smart enough not to actually BUY this worthless piece of shit they call a movie.
All in all, fuck this movie. Fuck the writers who thought it was cool to make Kazuya a trust fund cry-baby who likes to rape company co-workers (Jun Kazama), to make an army of Kendo-wearing soldiers and call them "Jacks," to give Steve Fox an Obi-Wan complex, to not have Christie Monteiro's fighting style be Capoeira, to decide to write everyone they put in the movie out of character and think that their presence would be enough to cater to the fans of the game, and to think that calling this worthless-ass remake of "The Running Man" "Tekken" would be enough to actually make a profit from this piece of shit! It only made back 36% of what it took to make this movie; $967,369 out of a production cost of 35 MILLION DOLLARS!!! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO WITH THAT MONEY?!
Everyone complaining about the first Street Fighter movie or the first Mortal Kombat movie needs to shut the fuck up. Or they should sit through Shitten (my new name for this movie). Even the director of the video game series hates this shit said - and I quote - “That Hollywood movie is terrible.” This is why I can't wait to get my work out there and have some involvement in Hollywood and the movies they make; so I can make sure shit like this doesn't happen like this to things I or anyone else likes. They had the perfect template for a Tekken movie through the anime movie they made. And from there, they could've followed the stories of the games and introduced new characters as they appeared in the games; start off with a small budget and make it work, possibly even be able to release a new sequel every year or two like with the Saw movies (they could've ended the seventh one better in my opinion). All I'm saying is that I won't be seeing another Tekken movie unless they're going in order; meaning Kazuya better be after Heihachi's blood for throwing him of a cliff when he was five years old.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be watching TRON...

Don't Worry
Posted 15 years agoIn case my last journal worried some of you guys as far as my situation is concerned, don't worry about me. My mom and I worked things out this morning and I'm back home. I have internet access again, so I'm not just limited to my phone. And because I have internet again, I can continue my job search.
I'm posting this because I know there were a few that were concerned about my current situation. So I'm telling you guys now that I'm fine. I'll be back on my feet completely in no time. ^^
I'm posting this because I know there were a few that were concerned about my current situation. So I'm telling you guys now that I'm fine. I'll be back on my feet completely in no time. ^^
It gets better...
Posted 15 years agoI'm posting this via my smartphone, so please bear with me as its my only current form of internet at the moment.
I wanna tell everyone out there with some sort of hardship that anything can be fixed with enough dedication. Anything can be done with the right resolve. And I want to make sure that what I have to say in this journal is not meant to offend anyone. If anything, I want this to inspire some people out there. And what I have to say is simple:
Don't give up.
I know things have been hard for some people, but you just can't give up like all hope is lost. Because it isn't. Its only as lost as you make it. I have had the worst couple of months imaginable. I lost my job before I could move out on my own, my parents separated before I could leave, forcing me to chose sides regarding my allegiance (even though I'm still a neutral party), no company offering full time jobs with an hourly wage or salary will hire me, the only companies that will hire me are ones that require me to pay to take a test to make money via commissions that I more than likely won't make, I have bill collectors upon bill collectors calling me every hour asking for money I don't have, and the money I gain from unemployment not even being half of what I'm used to making and not enough to satisfy everyone and survive myself. Plus, just recently I was kicked out of my own house for finally standing up to my mothers bullshit, finding refuge at my fathers house with no way of communicating with my friends and oved ones online other than my phone, and the only happiness I had has been lowered from what I'm used to over something I thought was resolved nearly six months ago.
But here I stand, just as strong and proud as ever. According to everything I just mentioned I've been through, I should be depressed as fuck, crying my eyes out trying to figure out why all of this was happening to me in one sitting. But I'm not. My resolve hasn't been greater, and my determination hasn't been stronger. This will probably be the worst I've ever fallen, but I can pretty much guarantee you that ill never fall this far again. I'm not giving up. Not by a long shot. A good friend of mine told me that when the universe says "fuck you," you take what you want and make your own destiny.
Well, ill be doing just that.

Posted 15 years agoEpisode 10 of Cutting Corners will be the last one for the rest of the year. I need some time to rest and concentrate on my other writing projects, as well as focus on my new job when I start it in November so that I can focus on my previous goals that were put on hold because of my four-month unemployment status.
The second half of this season will start sometime in January 2011. And because I don't know how often I'll be able to write and/or post at that time, whether I'll post weekly or bi-weekly won't be decided until I post another journal to let you guys know that I'm resuming work on the season. Thank you all for being so patient.

Posted 15 years agoSo I just got done watching the pilot episode of "Outsourced" on NBC. Now I think the show is great, and that entire comedy block from 8-10 is genius because I like Community, 30 Rock and The Office. And not only is Outsourced a good show, but its seriously causing me to crush on the chubby Indian guy Parvesh Cheena! ♥w♥
In case you guys don't know who he is or want something more recent he was in so you can put a face to the name, he's the Indian guy from those new Esurance commercials. Here's a few pics I found:

I know I sound completely ridiculous right now, but you guys just don't know how cute he is! I just wanna give him a big hug!!
Okay, everyone. As you were. ^^

Announcement: The Adventures of Detroit Michigan
Posted 15 years agoJust recently, I was inspired to start work on an ongoing series of detective stories that puts together humans and anthros. I plan on getting this series published either by a furry publisher or through an actual publisher. The premise will be about a black cat who used to be a college professor and ends up solving cases and mysteries for the FBI. He also has to deal with his parent's past, personal history, and family issues that seem impossible to ignore. And no, the series doesn't take place in Detroit, Michigan. That's the name of the protagonist.
Seriously. XD
The first book's scenario and plot is already in my head, courtesy of a dream I had about an hour or so ago. This is one of the reason's I like having the mindset to remember the dreams I had. I still remember the characteristics of Detroit. He's very intelligent, a sharp dresser, he never smokes, he's an open minded individual when it comes to relationships and is currently in one with a male lion who's also a college professor, and he's not afraid to go the extra step to prove his facts to be correct.
I would like to say that the series will be based in the real world, with different elements implanted from different pulp culture references when appropriate according to the mystery. Not to imply that every mystery will have some type of pop culture undertone, but it will be just enough to establish that the world the series is based in isn't always what it seemed.
Anyways, I'd just thought you guys should know, lol. Hopefully if I find a publisher/distributor after they're finished, I'll have a fan base with you guys already, since you guys apparently are already into my work. And for that, I say thanks. I hope you guys like it. I'll start work on the first book in September. Here's to the future! ^^

Posted 15 years agoI have a new job I'm currently undergoing training for and won't officially start until Tuesday, my apartment move date has been rescheduled to Mid-August because of me not having a job when I came back from AC, I'm currently buying stuff I need for my apartment with the money I'm getting from my unemployment, and I think I'm addicted to Caramel Frappuchino's from Starbucks.
Oh yeah. Plus, I'll be turning 22 next Thursday and I have no idea what I'm going to do for my birthday...

So I Found Out The Theme For Next Year's Anthrocon...
Posted 15 years ago...All I had to say was "FUCK YES."
You know what this means, guys...
I'm gonna be "Shuuban"-ing it out as much as I can next year! XD
For those of you who don't know, "Shuuban" is a furry fantasy RPG I admin on Proboards, in which magic plays a HEAVY role in it! So in preparation for next years theme, I'm definitely getting a badge done of Shen displaying his powers and possibly get something published to sell at the Dealer's Den possibly. But that one's still up in the air at the moment. lol
If you guys know what a writer can do to contribute to AC next year, let me know. And if anyone knows of any small furry publishers in case I decide to get something done especially for AC, PLEEEEEAAAASE let me know!
Kay, bye! :3

Cutting Corners Season 3 Announcement
Posted 15 years agoAs you know, June is quickly approaching. And as I have promised you, the next season of Cutting Corners will be released then. However, given the fact that I will be avoiding fillers and other stuff with this season, I must inform you of some things to expect in the upcoming Season 3.
- There is a high possibility that the episodes will NOT be released every week, but every OTHER week. This will not affect the length of the series, since I planned on it being possibly longer than Season 2. This will merely be a writing precaution to make sure everything is exactly the way I wish to relay to you and so I can give my best interpretation of the story.
- There probably won't be any sex in this season. There's too much action and drama within the overall plot of this season to fit any sex scenes unless they are necessary to the plot (see Season 2). So if people are upset about this, I deeply apologize. The only way any of Season 3 will be rated mature or adult is if violence is used in either a mild or extreme degree.
This last thing I need to tell you brings me great regret, as I have come to enjoy writing this series. But Season 3 will indeed be the last season of "Cutting Corners." I have greatly enjoyed writing this story and the characters involved with them. It has helped me gain much in my life and allowed me to become highly noticed here on FA. And for that, I thank all of the fans of both this series, my work in general and
kokuhane's characters. But all good things must come to an end. I feel that if I continue telling Cutting Corners stories after the initial story has concluded, I would be doing it a great injustice.
