I’ve thought about it for a long while, and finally decided to go ahead with it!
Tier perks include access to a sketch stash with lots of never published wips and doodles, HD art collections with more than 8 years of work, downloads for layered psd and csp files for past and future work, early access when commissions open and free monthly art raffles.
This will of course include sfw artwork as well, but I chose to make it a Subscribe Adult page because nsfw themes are what I most often work with, and what most of my personal artistic explorations entail.
How does this affect commissions?
It will change the way I take payments and organize slots, but not much else.
Basically, I’m hoping to finally ditch Paypal, and start taking commissions through Subscribestar directly.
I'll be setting up a tier or two with 2 or so slots for fixed-price commissions, which commissioners can later upgrade via tips (for example, a tier called “Painted Commissions” set at 250$ that includes an illustration for a full character with a background. If a subscriber wants to make it a two-character pic, the extra fee can be sent via a single-time tips).
I'm still deciding on what the best communication rout will be for this (form, mail, etc), so I won't be opening until mid-to-late May.
EDIT: Tipping is enabled now, so I can take payments with no need for subscriptions now via tips directly.
Why sell commissions this way?
Due to recent legislation in my country, using Paypal has become increasingly disadvantageous in the past few years (you have to automatically convert all payments to the local coin at a horrendous exchange rate, same as most other available services for easy money transfer and virtual wallets).
Also, because of how virtual wallet services work, I’ve not been able to offer clients any kind of installment plans for ages, which sucks.
The way Subscribestar works though, would allow me to receive transfers directly to my bank account, hopping over most of those issues, while at the same time allowing for fractionated payments for those clients who may need them.
Also, I fucking hate that Paypal has such a beef against the adult industry.
I love working on nsfw pieces for me and for others, and having in the back of my mind the knowledge that Paypal could shut down my account in a heartbeat if they realized I work with adult material, has been a constant source of irritation for more than a decade.
I unashamedly love what I do and I intend to continue doing so!
In conclusion:
My intentions regarding my artwork is to keep things mostly the same.
Commissions are still my priority, and will continue to be so, but some fixed monthly support would definitely be super helpful, allowing me to explore new techniques and ideas a tad more freely, while still giving back something to you all for your support.
If things go well and when things have settled down a bit, I intend to create a discord server where I can communicate more conveniently and stream the art making process, start using polls where subscribers can vote directly for what themes they’d like me to work with in my non-commissioned art.
It’s all extremely exciting, I can’t wait to start~ :D

I haven't talked much about my recent life over here cause it's been pretty hard, but, in a nutshell, I'm recovering from a long and complicated health situation involving my shoulders. It's what has prevented me from working roughly 8 months on early 2021 and 4 more on 2022 (for anyone interested, I've talked some more about the particulars here: https://twitter.com/Shibaratwits/st.....j9DyIwohmeKwyQ )
In any case, recovery is coming along pretty well, so I can finally start taking a bit of work again, though it will be slow going, and for a while I'll only be opening slots one at a time (also prioritizing simpler work, if there are folk interested in portraits over full illustrations).

Coming back here - unifying sfw and nsfw galleries
Posted 4 years agoI've been thinking things over for a long while now, and I've decided I'm going to come back over here and start working with furry art again.
After years of working almost exclusively with Transformers, I've grown really tired of it. I miss the flexibility and variety of anthro anatomy, I miss working on nsfw easily, and I miss rendering fur SO MUCH.
Also, one of the reasons managing my FA page became cumbersome was handling two accounts at the same time, so I'm gonna erase the nsfw one, and post the images back on this one. I'm too tired to pretend porn isn't something I enjoy working on. If this means I'll be rejected from certain jobs, so be it.
I'm currently recovering from some health issues, and next month I'll be finishing up a year-long comic project, but I've already started cooking up some projects and collabs so expect new artwork soon.

The new slots come with a pretty large price bump, as I hadn’t touched them since frigging mid 2016 and they were in desperate need of an update.

PSA - Paypal snafu - People in my comm. queue PLEASE read!!!
Posted 7 years agoOk, so, I have some pretty damn bad and irritating news over here pertaining commissions and the like.
As the time to renew my credit card arrived in my Paypal account, I found out about a charming new policy for Argentina users: money in a ppal account from my country apparently can no longer STAY in the account for an indefinite length of time. That is to say, since, idk, sometime this month? any money that is already in it, or that ingresses it, gets automatically transferred to either a US bank account (which I don’t have, and can’t get without incurring into some massive tax paying and legally grey shenanigans) or a Visa card (which my account is refusing to accept).
This is EXTREMELY problematic for me, because even when I manage to be able to withdraw funds from my account (which I currently can’t, but assume at some point will be able to when the Visa thing is solved), if ALL my paypal savings are emptied at once, due to how tax paying works in my country, I might have some pretty damn interesting legal problems.
On top of all this, even in case I manage to survive these amazing legal adventures without murdering anyone and still holding a functioning paypal account, for every automatic withdrawal there is a fixed payment on top of the regular fees (which is why I only withdrew money once in a long while), so my earnings will most likely drop like a brick.
When I contacted Paypal’s helpdesk to ask for guidance, I literally got told that there is no forced withdrawal policy so that can’t be, so I’m currently in a state of ?????????????? and waiting for them to figure out what the hell is going on. The kind lady that had my case told me it was most likely a mistake, or something affecting SOME accounts in Argentina, but the change of policy information was given in the account itself, it didn’t look like a mistake at all (more like helpdesk lady didn’t know what she was talking about, but I didn’t want to be rude and tell her that). She’s said I’ll be contacted again when they have an answer for me, and no estimate of when that could happen.
Meanwhile, I’m looking into other alternatives to what do with the money inside my account which is in spendable-but-not-withdrawable limbo (as long as it’s for something that doesn’t reuire a card, so, for example I can’t get a picarto sub, or buy actually important things online).
Now, what all this means is I can’t take payments via paypal, until all this is solved, because I may have to just eventually consume what’s in the account and find a new way to receive money online.
In a feat of amazing luck, I’m currently working on a large local project (yay,paper money! That won’t randomly prevent you to use it!), and after that I have a bunch of projects to work on, including art for TFN, zines, etc, that won’t involve payment via paypal, so I have a good margin until this is a REALLY pressing matter, but this still means that I can’t work on any commission that I haven’t been paid for already.
I have no idea when or how I’m gonna get this solved, so I can’t give a time when I’ll be able to get back to the queue. Maybe I get contacted by helpdesk in a week and get told what do or maybe I’ll have to end up hiring legal help of some kind. I don’t know.
In any case, I will update this situation as soon as I have any news. If any followers I have any experience on similar situations and can shed any light on this matter, I’ll be extremely grateful.

On top of all this, even in case I manage to survive these amazing legal adventures without murdering anyone and still holding a functioning paypal account, for every automatic withdrawal there is a fixed payment on top of the regular fees (which is why I only withdrew money once in a long while), so my earnings will most likely drop like a brick.
When I contacted Paypal’s helpdesk to ask for guidance, I literally got told that there is no forced withdrawal policy so that can’t be, so I’m currently in a state of ?????????????? and waiting for them to figure out what the hell is going on. The kind lady that had my case told me it was most likely a mistake, or something affecting SOME accounts in Argentina, but the change of policy information was given in the account itself, it didn’t look like a mistake at all (more like helpdesk lady didn’t know what she was talking about, but I didn’t want to be rude and tell her that). She’s said I’ll be contacted again when they have an answer for me, and no estimate of when that could happen.
Meanwhile, I’m looking into other alternatives to what do with the money inside my account which is in spendable-but-not-withdrawable limbo (as long as it’s for something that doesn’t reuire a card, so, for example I can’t get a picarto sub, or buy actually important things online).
Now, what all this means is I can’t take payments via paypal, until all this is solved, because I may have to just eventually consume what’s in the account and find a new way to receive money online.
In a feat of amazing luck, I’m currently working on a large local project (yay,paper money! That won’t randomly prevent you to use it!), and after that I have a bunch of projects to work on, including art for TFN, zines, etc, that won’t involve payment via paypal, so I have a good margin until this is a REALLY pressing matter, but this still means that I can’t work on any commission that I haven’t been paid for already.
I have no idea when or how I’m gonna get this solved, so I can’t give a time when I’ll be able to get back to the queue. Maybe I get contacted by helpdesk in a week and get told what do or maybe I’ll have to end up hiring legal help of some kind. I don’t know.
In any case, I will update this situation as soon as I have any news. If any followers I have any experience on similar situations and can shed any light on this matter, I’ll be extremely grateful.

Haven't been extremely active, but I'm finally doing something I had wanted to do for quite a while, that is separating my sfw and nsfw art.

I will still be working on both, and taking commissions for both when I'm open again. All the managing, taking notes, etc will be done via my sfw account, tho, so I encourage people who are interested in commissions to keep following this account, since when I open again, it will be announced only over here (I have a LOT of trouble with social media and gallery managing so I can't really be handling two complete FA accounts at t eh same time).
Art migration will probably be done by bits, as there's a lot of backlog > <

Posted 8 years agoDue to the queue being extremely long atm (about 11 months), and wanting to better prepare for TFN, commissions will be closed from the next Wednesday onward, most likely until August, maybe just a few months if I manage to put a sizable dent on the workload.
When I open again, there will be a quote bump, so I'm letting you all know in case anyone wanted to snatch a last minute slot while they are at the current price.
