Thanks to a visit from an old friend, I'm going to try this again.
Can't say I'm up for commissions yet.
The pressure makes me freeze up.
But I miss having feedback.
I still drew a little during my break. I'll post some of it later.
Currently working to fix the Dragon Lady. I wrecked the color job, my focus was whack at that time, hence the year long break. I'll try to post the work in progress. The color palette will be rethought.

I'm sorry.
I'm just not there.
It's been an uncomfortable wave of confusion, sadness and anger fueling my work lately. I don't know when the wave will crash, kinda feels like it's already started. Putting a better face on it than before but I still don't feel right. Sometimes I can draw all night, and then there's moments like these where all I can do is lay my head on my desk and cry.
The only thing about this summer that has been nice is my nightly walks searching for fireflies.
Art and Biology are my two talents.
Producing a product and selling it like a professional....not so much.

This community of artists and art watchers has helped me through some pretty dark patches of my life.
I want you to know that you are the only reason I keep drawing.
My life is in a bit of a shamble right now.
But please know your love of my art keeps my soul going as much as real love could.
One of you in particular is responsible for inspiring so much in my gallery. He was my muse too. I came to love him so very much. And it hurts me deeply to think he's moved on to another artist now.
I'm trying to heal but every day I find a new way to fall apart. Grace I am not.

Please know when I do art it's pieces of my time, my body, my soul that get used. I'm so grateful for those out there who enjoy it. It really breathes life into my existence when you do.
I can't rightly explain how much doing art for someone means to me. Let's just say it's one of my great joys. No one in real life see's my work. You really are pouring water on a dying plant when you enjoy my art.

I've had a grand total of two very lovely people commission art from me in the 6 years I've been here.
And while I'm ecstatic to have even had that much, I do need more business.

It begs the question if there's not much interest, why bother? Lord knows it's a struggle to get any time for art when you become a mother. That was expected.

However I'm going to be taking night classes for Farm School for a month or so. That will take even more time away from art.

The other day I saw my Highschool Art teacher in the grocery store and had to endure the disappointment in her eyes that all I have managed IRL art is a tattoo design and a pet portrait.

i'm sorry for the long delay here. couldn't login after computer failure. the new procedure for password recovery nearly gave me a stroke! after a lengthy cussing fit here we are.....

I'm still working on the various pieces started for you critters. Been occupied with art requirements for chicken club at our faire. yes....i'm a chicken person. Anyway, art time kinda/sorta opened back up for the fun stuff.

I also have a little mancub on the way! He should hatch end of November and may or may not affect my art time...we will see. Either way super excited and getting prepared.

I haz teh flu. And it has been no fun. Except for the fever dreams.....they were kinda fun....there were ninjas, Simon Tam, and a canoe chase....and other naughty bits I won't discuss ^^
Sloooowly getting better, still feel like I've been throttled tho. Gave me plenty of time to ponder things and draw. The art is back in the gallery, until I get pissed again and take it all down. Though Weasyl will get my newer arts first, and I will be more active over there. Uploading my art in waves over there so as not to flood everyone's inboxes.

other life updates include
Everyone else on my side is okay healthwise. We're a long way from being sure but my mother's cancer seems to be stopped in it's tracks. My dad's leg problems haven't gotten any worse...but the docs are still rather clueless. I'm hoping exercise and nutrition will help clear it up. My sister is still alive despite her best efforts. Still not having anything to do with her since the big fight last Fall, and as result it's given me so much more free time. And it reduced my likelihood of getting stomach ulcers. Being her bitch wasn't working for me.

Bears and coyotes are keeping their distance lately so my chickens have been safe. .22 shot is good a deterrent. Last year I lost four to a bear attack and the rest picked off by coyotes. Working on getting the new coop and lot built but there have been snags.

Had a shady fellow show up on July 2nd, he looked like he was trying to pilfer metal and such. He got flustered when I stood in my doorway with a gun so he proceeded to badly reverse down the driveway. Hope he got a flat tire on the junk he ran over. So that was something. I reported it but haven't heard a thing.

The main focus lately has been the garden. We've been needing a good garden for a year or so. Last year's was an epic fail, too wet. This year it's almost been too dry. When harvest time comes I'm going to be busy drying, pickling, canning and freezing everything. Mom has a ton of things to teach me. Still need to fix the gourd trellis. And I need to go out there and weed everything or the neighbors will start pointing.
Right now we've been sidetracked trying to get the porch fixed. The wood was over twenty years old and it was a matter of time before I or my fat cat went thru it. :(

That's about it. Hanging out on the couch under the fan trying to stay hydrated.
