This is possibly the last year I'll be going to MFF so I'm gonna try and get a lot of pics, as well as actually interacting with others a bit.

I'll be wearing Starlight and Luna, for saturday and sunday respectively (i'll have to check the schedule for photoshoots since I want Starlight in the one for independent makers) but for friday i'll just be doing a hat and ears.

Also, Bunneah is going to have an item up at the art sale! An ear hat and tail set, for a pretty good value since it's the handpainted rainbow set at that, so check it out!

So, I've got a lot of stuff to do.

First off, the newly posted story 'Moon Veil' deals with the origin of all adopted star dragons; i'll be doing updated little bios on the the adopts I still have available.

I'm doing some rewrites/updates on a few of my stories. Urban Animals is getting a reworking (read the first update here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/31416016), as well as the sequel to my novel They Hunt (https://www.kobo.com/ca/en/ebook/they-hunt) which hasn't been posted at all online...yet. I'll probably post a little teaser on my patreon page though for a writing wednesday.

I also have some updates on the dragon book, namely new art and maybe including the Moon Veil story in some form (or a short bit that follows up on it).

Other projects:

- Getting Starlight convention ready for MFF
- Finishing Faren's partial suit for MFF (she has a tail and the partially done foam head base at the moment, needs paws and wings as well)
- Making a pair of pajama pants for the boyfriend for christmas (this will be done on a day off work, shouldn't take very long in theory)
- Making ears for Bunneah for a convention (need to get the tail and tipped ear patterns though, so it might be a slow process)
- Make a small sculpty Starlight; maybe offering these for sale
- Get ready to do commissions

So, doing some shuffling around of stuff.

There is now a folder dedicated to Bunneah, the company my partner runs. I do make stuff for him from time to time, and I help run the social media aspect of the business as he rarely has time to post about it. Once I get pictures of all the products, I'll get them up on here with links to his etsy.

With this is the Moon Eater Studios folder, which is dedicated to my personal stuff that is for sale. I'll set up my own etsy soon enough so I can sell ref sheets, as well as YCHs and such.

I should note I'm working on Faren; her tail is getting done, and got the red fur for her head/ears. Just need some white!
Starlight is being worked on slowly, and I'll probably get a whole bunch done on her soon. Her arms have been started for the quad suit, and just need fur; the split jaw needs fur and the lines to control it, and the body needs to be split.

Also, I'll be doing a slight update to the dragon book, with a much better cover and some interesting new details!

So, last time I tried helping the boy out it fell through. Lots of issues on the end of gofundme, and we gave up.

I decided to try again, this time for something more urgent and a lot less expensive: his dental work.

It's a bad situation for him; he needs at least one extraction (cavities are so bad in one tooth he can actually use his tongue to push food out of them) and there's a lot of places near his gum line where his teeth are actually turning black...

Needless to say, he needs help. He can't afford to pay for the work, so I want to get him covered and see what can be done to help out.

Just wanted to do a quick update.

Starlight has had her head spikes updated to match the rest, and her bottom jaw is now split! It'll be lined/finished, and the body suit modified soon. She just needs the new paws really, it's an easy edit.

Luna has been fully patterned, and I just need to do her lips, add the elastic, and fur her. That and new paws since the color will change from the old purple to the newer, cool purple.

Her name will be Wish. She was raised a lot..better than her first born, and was hatched in space like Starlight. Unlike her mother though, she's more peaceful and likes to try and grant wishes. Except she's a star dragon, and does take after her mother in some regards...

So, a few projects on the go! Some are just in pre-planning though.

Currently working on:

- doing a more complex fan art piece, i've been updating it on my Patreon when I can

- Guide to Star Dragons is almost done

- I have one story 100% finished that I want to publish, I just need to figure out cover art first. That and the person who inspired it needs to okay the ending.
- SO MUCH MORE WRITING including a fantasy/western type story and a horror story that follows my novel *hint hint/=*

Going to start on:

- tweaking mini dragon pattern. I want to get a prototype that I'm 100% happy with before going to kickstarter to try and get funds to start up my business for that stuff. There will be more info once that's done.
- redoing Luna. The new head should be in this month and I got the rest of her two-tone blue fur back, there will be new paws and a properly finished tail as well. The old head and paws (I can't use the same purple so I have to redo them) will probably go up for sale with her original tail.
- maybe finishing Nightshade? Since she's just going to be a halloween costume and no one will buy her remains I may as well do that. Just need some white fabric, maybe a simple machine cotton I can paint on.

Later this year:

- a BIG project....want to make Starlight into a quad suit. I have a good idea exactly how to make it work and have an articulated jaw, 'posable' front paws, and a moving (or at least self leveling) head that I can do just reusing the old suit with a few added parts. All I need is some replacement fabric for the minky stuff, plastic pipe, aircraft cable, some form of hinge (maybe those purse clasp magnets?) and some time to mess around and get everything working. I'll be doing a full scale sketch for reference for this one, which will be done long before the rest since she needs to be intact at least until after Fur-Eh
- hopefully get business off the ground and do some art shows and such! As well as a few commissions.

So yeah...if you wonder why there's not been much activity from me, that's why.

Mainly, I've finally decided to cut ties with Nightshade and just sell what's left of her. So that will include two sets of hand paws, the wolf legs, and her unfinished head from my last attempted update.

I no longer need her as a character, since I don't have much to do with that part of the furry community anymore, and outside writing a short horror story that covers her back story I'm finished with her.

To be fair, I might do some art of her ghoulish skull werewolf form, but that's it. I don't need three fursuits, and she no longer reflects who I am.

Redoing as in getting a proper resin head blank. I need to practice using one if I want to ever make on, and I'm thinking of using a DVC large canine base (pre-hinged and cut) with realistic eyes and maybe even the full jaw kit.

This won't be anytime soon of course...costs aren't horrid but I want to save up for that specifically if I can. Maybe have it be a summer project, along with Nightshade.

Anyone have any experience working with this style of head base? I've seen them look really good and think I can get one to look decent, but I'm unfamiliar with using another persons work as a base and want to do it right.

I actually made a nice heavy trench coat-styled jacket for the boy, it's done and just needs to be wrapped up for him as its a late Xmas gift.

I've got a new mini dragon that's ALMOST done...just needs limbs stitched on and some detailing. I'll work on it tomorrow, no pics though outside of Patreon until it does up for sale at Anime Midwest.

Nightshade's new head has been sculpted out, I just need to finish the shape of the cheek bones and figure out exactly how to cover her. I'm thinking a white cotton, honestly, with some paint details and a spray over with a clear coat and maybe some glowing markings as well. The rest if easy, just a hood with ears. I can even use the old paws and legs, just need to do some repairs on the latter.

I do want to get a working prototype of a resin star dragon head, but it'll take a bit to get made up. Want a nice non-minky version of that blue gray fur I used on Starlight; I'll also replace her belly patch and back paws, and maybe the front ones since they are a bit delicate. Do like them as they are, but I'd want the materials to match for the whole thing once works starts. That, however, won't begin until I have access to supplies.

Also there's a ton of book reviews I've done on my youtube.

I've decided not to fully kill Nightshade yet. I will be selling her old head once I finish it (i need to finish other things first though) but I will be doing a nice little written thing for her that will explain why she is changing.

I'll put up a new ref sheet with a link to the story when it's done, since the story itself will be a freebe on Patreon.

Since I have a LOT of options for star dragons already out there, I won't be doing a huge selection of adopts...but there's a few I want to put out.

For aquatic, I have a golden and black one planned named Nile.

For winged, maybe one or two parrot themed ones...good color concepts there.

For terrestrial, I do have a plan for a Halloween one that will be released in summer...think skulldog, but as a dragon.

Maybe an eclipse themed dragon as well....

So, after some thought, I've decided to make a star dragon mini-partial (head and tail). It'll be on a lighter weight head, and might come with the back/shoulder spikes mounted on a vest if it'll sell for enough.

The eyes/mouth/spike color will be a unique red fabric my mom got. It's holographic and looks like shards of red glass, really pretty, and actually see-through!

I'll post a few test drawings for color combos and then put if up to auction once the base is built!

During my research into the hybrid triplets, I was informed of another experiment that had been stolen many years ago. The anthro star dragons knew little about what happened to it, but did tell me it was an experiment into flying star dragons...

Further investigation found reports of a creature that seemed to fit the bill for the stolen creature. It wasn't massive, maybe 12 feet in total length, with a 16 foot wing span...

Tracks found on a small, forested moon had the familiar four toed canine-look to star dragon tracks, but no sign of the front paws. The moon in question was an interesting case to begin with; it had been used as a farm for easy to catch, surface feeding fish, which had heavily damaged the ecosystem in the warm seas. The forest itself was untouched, although the rapidly breeding fish were killing off a lot of the local insects, making pollination harder for some plants. It seems that something recently started to feed on these fish, but it's not a water-based predator, and sightings of a wyvern-like dragon support the new theory that the stolen dragons were bred and then released to try and clean up the problem fish.

Efforts are being made to catch one of these dragons for study...expect more information soon.

Not redoing the head, as much as I want to do it, but I am doing body work on her.

All of her spikes have been removed and will be redone out of fabric to make them more durable for travel. They will also be made larger for the back spikes, with the other ones being more consistently sized. Her tail fluffing was pulled out and put into a tail liner; the tail now has an internal zipper so I can remove the filling whenever I want. I've also put bells on the tip of the liner so her tail will jingle!

Currently, she's being washed for the first time ever. She wasn't dirty or stinky, but her dark fur weirdly smelled like peaches...not sure why. Gave her a dunk in the tub and a spin cycle to get the water out, followed by a few fluff dries since she was pretty saturated.

I'm going to do a bit of work on her footpaws...just shortening them really and maybe giving her more obvious claws on her feet.

I'd like to redo her head fully, making it out of resin with a special jaw hinge that will give her the proper snake-mouth.

They were the product of cross-breeding between star dragon species, to try and make a more friendly, fluffy imperial. Instead, some old genetics resurfaced and the final product ended up as three feisty, loyal and intimidating dragons.

They are the only star dragons known to have distinct canine teeth, or an almost full body covering of shaggy fur. From crossing terrestrial star dragons with imperials, as well as mossy star dragons, they achieved a unique but ultimately sterile hybrid.

So, a few things.

With the dragon pattern done, I just need to touch it up and make it digital. So there's that. I'll work on it once I finish a personal sewing project.

The star dragon book is getting done. I'll get the basic copy up soon, and then make the proper version for distribution on Amazon.

Mooneater Studios is becoming a thing. Slowly but surely. I need to get the business license, get the pattern done, as well as figure out what I want to put on the Patreon. I'll have an Etsy store for the pattern as well as some art stuffs, including an idea I had for character icons that I need to test first. I'll post more when I get it started up.
