My AnthroCon Panel!
General | Posted a year agoHere's the link to my Telegram gallery, where I've posted my slideshow and transcript from my panel at AnthroCon.
https://t.me/shinys_gallery/648
Thank you all so much again for coming and for the feedback - it means a lot to me that I was able to put something together that people found educational!
I'm thinking in the near-future I'll fix the slideshow file to just have my transcript on it somewhere instead of having to keep them separated into two files? Probably easier to read that way. But I'm still very tired and catching up on my day job post-con so that will have to wait a bit!!

New Comic on the Way, May 6th
General | Posted a year agoI'm planning my next big comic, called Deer God's Wood. I'm taking it pretty seriously! Maybe too seriously!!
The script and thumbnails are totally done, and right now it's coming out to around 73 pages. It's set up in 8 chapters that run from 4 to 16 pages each. My plan is to work on and update it chapter-by-chapter as I finish them. The first chapter is just about ready, and I'll be posting that one on May 6th!
If youre interested, I also set up a little ComicFury page for the comic as well. It's not exactly ready yet, but I want to have a dedicated site for the comic, so you can also find that at https://deergodswood.webcomic.ws/

BICS Brooklyn tomorrow!
General | Posted a year agoI will be selling my comics and some other merch at BICS (Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase) tomorrow! It runs from 11am-7pm tomorrow, April 13th, at St. Mark's Comics in Brooklyn. They've got more info on their Instagram over here! If you're in the area, it's a great way to say hey and show some support without the whole rigamarole of a giant con to also deal with lol. Come say hey!
April shows in NYC!
General | Posted a year agoApril's going to be a busy month for me, going to be selling comics and merch at two different New York City shows.
I'll be at Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase (BICS) On Saturday the 13th this month, at St. Mark's Comics in Brooklyn.
I'll also be at the Rainbow Book Fair on Saturday the 20th, at the NYC LGBT Center in Manhattan!
More info about the events is on their websites, but they're both free, and I'll be hyping them all month in the leadup. Please come say hey and see me and all the other cool artists!

Post-ANE Reflections
General | Posted 2 years agoHey! I tabled at ANE! That was cool! I haven't ever done one of these post-con recap posts before, and considering ANE was probably my busiest and most successful con ever by a lot of metrics, I thought maybe it was worth doing! So. Here we go.
- Oh dang was I busy!! I nearly sold out of most of my merch, which I'm very grateful for. The trip to the con was pretty difficult because I had to haul so much on the train, the trip back was a lot easier with lighter bags. My main takeaway from tabling was that I need to up my prices on my simple, next-day badge commissions. They were very popular, moreso than I thought they would be, and working on them at my table really kept me busy! I made so many of them that my laminating machine broke at my table, which was pretty frustrating, but also a good sign that I might want to chill out with them. I did limit myself to only taking three of these commissions at a time, which I'm grateful I did, but I think they're worth more than I realized at first.
- This was probably the happiest I've ever been with my table setup at a con. I've been tabling at conventions for a decade as of this year, and I finally feel like I have a great handle on how best to present all of my merch and have a professional and distinct look to my table. I've come a really long way at doing this, and it made me feel really proud of myself.
- I am also thinking about someone (that I know, this isn't like a hiring call, lol) to help me watch my table and sell stuff at the con. Not because I can't handle a table myself, I definitely can! But I didn't get to walk around the Dealer's Den and talk with other artists, or see as much of my friends or of panels this con as I would have liked to. It would be nice to be able to leave my table and not be paranoid that I'm losing business by doing that. So I'm definitely going to consider that at the next con I table at. I wanna be more social at cons and not just working the whole time!
- I'm continually impressed by how well ANE staff treats its dealers. In my opinion all cons should give us a catered lunch break, I can't believe it isn't the standard. That said, I'm probably not going to do the Night Market again next year. Not just because there were some hiccups in organizing it - that's already been talked about to death online. But even if it was totally smooth and perfect, I just don't think I want to also dedicate a full night of the con to working when I could be seeing people and relaxing after a long day at my table. It was pretty stressful to do both in one day! So, as nice as it was to sell some extra prints, I'd definitely rather have fun with my friends in the evening.
- My partner did a bunch of DJ-ing at a room party and the Dead Dog dance, and it was some of the most fun I had the whole time. Especially after working all day, it feels so incredible to throw all the stress off by dancing like an idiot, surrounded by friends and fursuiters. Definitely another reminder that I want to dedicate more time to socializing at these cons instead of just working. I love this community, it's really important to me, and I don't want it to just become a paycheck for me, you know? The theme of the weekend really was "okay, I've proven that people like my art, and that I can make some extra cash doing it, great, but like, I want to actually socialize and make friends at these events, too, dang!!" So, that's something I'm going to keep in mind for the future.
- Despite everything I said about worrying about working too much, it was still an incredible experience tabling this year. I spend so much of my time hunched over my desk working on furry stuff that it's easy to forget that anybody actually cares about what you do. So it's really validating to have people come up to you and tell you they've been following your art for a long time, or to have people that don't know your art see it and be interested, or to tell you they love your colors or characters or kinks you draw. It's like, "oh wow, I'm not just throwing jpgs into the void here." I really appreciate everyone that stopped by and said nice things about my work to me!!
- Other funny or cool things that happened this con: Seeing internet friends I'd never met for the first time, getting delicious ramen with a giant group of people, swapping sketchbooks in our underwear at the end of the weekend, watching a friend get a train run on him, the hilariously bad service at the restaurant attached to the hotel, getting squished by Nargle in the elevator, bringing two dozen bagels for breakfast every day and being really pretentious about everyone eating at Dunkin, meeting a bunch of artists I admire in the Zoo... idk probably a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting but this entry is long enough.
So, yeah, definitely going to apply to table again at ANE next year. As far as my future con attendance this year, I'm going to aim to be at AC (not going to table this time, but I did apply to run a panel, so more on that when I hear back), and I am also going to apply to table at FurPoc. So, look out for me at those if you want to say hey. Ok bye.

Bluesky reminder / invite codes
General | Posted 2 years agoHey all! I just want to remind people that I'm on Bluesky now. I'm pretty active on there, I use it to like, actually socialize and shitpost a lil, in a way that I haven't really done on social media in a while.
https://bsky.app/profile/shinyluvdisc.gay
I also have a couple of invite codes, so if you haven't got one already, shoot me a comment or a message, I'd be happy to give em away to more furries. I've given away all my extra codes, but I expect I'll have more soon, so if you want one, just let me know and I can save it for you.

AnthroCon Artist Alley - Sunday June 2nd
General | Posted 2 years agoHi, furries!
I'm going to be at AnthroCon at the end of the month! In fact, I'm going to be tabling at the Artist Alley on Sunday!
I'll be offering commissions there, mainly badges. I'm trying to take it easy on myself this month after finishing the comic so that's going to be the only place I offer commissions for a little bit. But if I don't fill out a lot of slots, I'll probably open those slots up online, as well!
Other than that, I'll be at the con Thursday thru Monday so hit me up!

So if you're in NYC or able to make the trip out, I super recommend coming through. There'll be a bunch of other great artists there, too, and it's being run by Doable Guys who are friends of mine and know their shit with organizing this kind of thing. And admission is free!

Pay What You Want Doodle Stream this Sunday!
General | Posted 2 years agoI'm going to do another pay-what-you-want drawing stream this Sunday, May 7th, at about 3pm! I've been so nose-to-the-grindstone with this comic, it'll be nice to blow off some steam doing some fast fun drawings for other people.
I tweeted more details and examples of ones I've done before over here if you're interested! Would prefer payment before Sunday if possible.

Upcoming Projects
General | Posted 2 years agoSince Twitter doesn't have polls anymore (and is continuing to deteriorate and give me zero engagement lol) I thought I would ask people here about what kind of project they'd like to see me do when Imp Shiny's Dickventures is over (which hopefully will be by the end of May).
The first thing I want to do at the end of the comic is open for commissions again. I could use the extra money with AnthroCon coming up especially!
After that, I have a few ideas of comics I want to make, so I figured I'd list them here and see what people thought about them. Here they are in order of how new the ideas are:
1. A short, non-porn vaguely sci-fi comic about a CEO cat heading a giant corporation that's due for a comeuppance. Basically just something to channel my frustration towards big tech companies right now. Very Snowpiercer vibes, if you know that movie. Probably 8-12 pages.
2. Pokemon porn tournament! A while back I ran a poll of Pokemon people would like to see me draw porn of, and I thought eventually I'd do a series of comics of two Pokemon facing off (fucking) and people can vote and donate towards the winner, or towards certain effects taking place in each "battle." Probably would just be one comic page a fight with sixteen contestants, so the whole thing would probably be around 16 pages total, maybe with a couple of extra for introductions and whatnot.
3. Another TF Potion auction! Probably I'd do another 5 pages for it.
4. A long (I'm talking like, multiple chapters) fantasy-themed porn comic about my D&D character (basically just my fursona in a fantasy setting) getting lost in some spooky horny fairy woods and meeting the big tiddy deer god that becomes his Warlock patron. This would be kind of like if my old Orc hypno comic was a epic-length; I'm thinking at least 50 pages, and I'd probably take breaks between "chapters."
Anyway, if you have any thoughts about any of those or any of them sound particularly fun to you, let me know. I'm leaning towards the Pokemon thing first just because I haven't done much R34 stuff in a while and it'd be fun! But who knows.

Post-ANE Journal, Future Plans
General | Posted 3 years agoIt's been about a week now since ANE, and I wanted to write an entry about it to say that it was one of the best con experiences I've ever had! This was my first time tabling at a furry convention (I've done lots of indie comics cons before this, but never a furry con), and it went so, so much better than I was expecting it to. Sold tons of commissions, books, shirts, and stickers, and fully made back the cost of the trip. What more could I ask for, tbh??
I also got to host a panel, which I called "The Art of Making Adult Comics," pretty much about my process when drawing furry porn comics, which also went so much better than I expected! The timing of it was a little weird, at the same time as the Night Market which I knew was gonna be hella popular, so I figured it'd be a couple of people there at best. But a lot more people than I had thought still came and listened, and I got a lot of great feedback on it! If you're interested in the panel, I've posted the slideshow and transcript to my Telegram gallery, they're currently in the pinned post.
It was also just a good time in general! I saw so many friends in one place, went to some nice restaurants in the area, smooched my awesome partner a lot and watched them DJ the Night Market, got to try on a friend's fursuit and march around, did lots of cute sketchbook swaps with people... it was a great weekend!
This is all to say: I'm DEFINITELY going to be actually tabling at more furry cons in the future. I'm for sure doing ANE again, but I'm also planning on hosting that same panel at Furthemore later this year. Plus, I've applied to the Artist's Alley for Anthrocon, and I think I'm going to try Furpocalypse, as well. So, look out for those, I guess! And thanks so much to everyone that came by my booth at ANE and said hi or picked up some stuff.
Oh, I'm also planning on setting up an online store to sell copies of Shiny's Mystical Shop of Wonders, among other things, since that was also way more popular than I expected it to be! So, look out for that too. :03

ANE 2023 - Table M8!
General | Posted 3 years agoI'm going to be tabling at Anthro New England, the weekend of January 20th! I'll be at table M8 in the adult section of the Dealer's Den. I'll be selling:
- Copies of Shiny's Mystical Shop of Wonders!
- And also copies of Baking With Skunkdad.
- Badge commissions! Both full color and simpler, hand-drawn ones.
- Stickers!
- T-shirts!
- I'll also have commissions available!
I'm also going to be hosting a panel!! It's on making comics, specifically of the adult variety since that's mostly what I draw. It's going to be on Saturday the 21st at 9pm, and it should be a good time! Will definitely be linking this stuff all over the place in the future.
I feel like I've talked about this a lot already, but, eh, I wanted to have a dedicated pinned post about it. I hope you'll come by the table or the panel and say hi! See you there.

I feel like I've talked about this a lot already, but, eh, I wanted to have a dedicated pinned post about it. I hope you'll come by the table or the panel and say hi! See you there.
What should I draw in a Pokemon Porn Tournament?
General | Posted 3 years agoI've seen a few tournament-style porn brackets done before, and I thought it might be fun to do one myself in the future. I have some other projects lined up first, but it's definitely something I'm excited to try. So I figured I'd ask around and see:
What species of Pokemon would you like to see me draw porn of?

Yup, it's another journal about the twitter crash
General | Posted 3 years agoWelp!! Huh! How about that!!
I am taking comfort in the fact that this is losing Elon billions and tanking his stock, if nothing else! Sad I'll be losing the following I built on Twitter, but I've got just as strong a following on FurAffinity, arguably better because people on here strike me as more willing to actually, like, engage with art in general, as opposed to just blandly retweeting an endless content slurry.
Anyway, if you follow me on here and care about seeing my art, you're probably fine, this is the website I enjoy uploading art to the most besides twitter. Gold member and everything. It definitely helps that this site has been running for a long-ass time and is owned by actual furries with skin in the game. But if you're curious, I am also on:
Telegram, my gallery is here: https://t.me/shinys_gallery
Pillowfort: https://www.pillowfort.social/shinyluvdisc
I'm trying out Itaku, too, altho it kind of strikes me as just FurAffinity But Worse at the moment: https://itaku.ee/profile/shinyluvdisc
The telegram gallery I'm for sure sticking with, the other two I'm less sure about, it depends on how things play out with those sites I guess. Till then, I'll still be riding the twitter train until it fully crashes into the sun.
Oh and also real life! Still going to be tabling at Anthro New England in 2023, so look out for that.
