Posted 10 years agoOkay, so I was "lucky" enough to get invited for the Hero Of The Storm closed beta. For those of you who don't know, Hero Of The Storm is Blizzard's newest game that's hitting the market, featuring major characters across all of their games to fight in an open world. Pre-orders are currently all that is available. Along with my open beta invitation, I have received 4 friend codes to extend the invitation to. All my close friends and friends that I know play Blizzard either got in or received an extended invitation so now I'm opening it up for the first 4 people who want it.

Posted 10 years agoSo it's finally happened. As of April 11th, 2015, my mate and I, after almost 8 long years, have finally tied the knot, and are officially man and wife. It's been a hard (lol) and bumpy road, having struggled so long, supporting each other through thick and thin. It's been especially hard these last 2 years as I've been running my business and being forced to still work part time to pay the bills while she had to sacrifice her work to finish her last couple years of college.
This has been the most hectic my life has ever been yet, and I've heard from everyone to start preparing for worse when we decide to have our own cub.

Posted 12 years agoSorry it's been really slow lately. My business is booming, and I've been getting a lot of work, so I've barely been able to find time to work on the art. However, I won't be working on art for the next week or so as my grandmother just got transferred to a hospice yesterday afternoon, and I'm just not in the mental state to be doing anything at the moment. I'm getting live updates on her condition and I'll be leaving the state for a couple days when she passes.
It's a really difficult time because my grandmother loved me the most out of everyone in either side of my family. In '92, she left a life of luxury in Hong Kong, leaving her 13 restaurants (7 were among the top 20) to her eldest (and useless) son, who sold all of them and kept the money for himself. She traded that to be staying in my parents' guest room for a simple life of daily knitting and looking after me. She'd cook for me whenever I was hungry, and would do her best to make food/drink that I liked if my parents wouldn't buy it for me or was just too expensive to buy. Only person I know in the world who did their best to replicate Gatorade in their kitchen and even succeeded. She always comforted me when I was depressed and was a heck of a lot more worried about my health than my parents were. She was also the only person from any generations before mine that wasn't racist and accepted my choice to date and court white girls. She supported me in everything that I chose to do and encouraged me as I went along, which is why I got into art and used to be so much better at it back in high school and my first year of college. On top of all that, we never had to worry about her going anywhere to do anything. She had such a heart of gold even when she lived in Hong Kong that 1/2 of Chicago's Chinatown knew her and gave her transportation, money, etc. because she was the reason they were able to make it to America to start new lives.
Just, in short, she's the greatest old lady out there, and now she's being taken away from this world. I hope you guys will understand, and just know that I'll continue as soon as this whole ordeal is over.

1) Got a different 2nd job with better pay, so I'm switching from COMMISSIONS Mode to REQUESTS Mode.
2) My current tech support clients are either in busy season and/or behind on their payments, so I have MORE time.
3) Got new ideas for some fun pics that I've been wanting to practice.
So here's how you're going to be able to get free art. Currently, I will only be servicing a certain type so I can practice some on my new approach. Until October 15th, the only requests I will take are only themed for my new favourite show, "Heroes of Cosplay".
Requests will be of your own fursonas either going on stage in cosplay or making their cosplays/props, your choice! The only limitation is that it is limit 2 characters per pic, you must repost this journal, be watching me, and no pics that I do NOT do, which can be found on my profile page, which isn't a very long list. Be as crazy, original, or nerdy as you want!
Some will have streaming, while most will not, depends if we're watching a disc movie on the TV or streaming. Pics will range from standard, clean lineart to even shaded with BG and full colours, just depends on the pic that you request.

Posted 13 years agoGoddammit. I just spent the last 3 hours working on what I believe is my greatest masterpiece yet, the 10-person orgy pic. The mix of species has challenged my abilities to date, and I've been really proud, and it's been working beautifully. As an IT, I know the "perfection" of technology and the inner workings. I took a break only 2 minutes ago to use the WC, and came back to my gaming laptop's first crash. Despite how often I always save my work, it only saved the head of the first character (I was already 1/4 done). FUCK ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Serious Question to All of my Watchers.
Posted 13 years agoOkay, for those of you who have been keeping up with my infrequent journals, I've started my own home office almost 2 weeks ago, where art commissions are now one of my actual sources of income, and not just something to get me that next video game or buffet that I wanted to try out. However, I've found a trend in the last year, or at least realized, that a lot of people have put me on their watch list not because they enjoy my art, but rather they were just hoping to get free art or to find other artists. I love doing artwork, and I enjoy making it. However, it is now responsible for 1/2 of my income now, and it seems that despite events and sales that I do during holidays or if it just comes down to competing prices at the time, nobody seems to give a shit about it. And lately, it's been making me exceptionally depressed about the situation.
On my most recent stream for Slot 3 of my Celebration (5 hour stream), I had no watchers pretty much the whole time except for one girl (who shall remain nameless) who dropped by for about 2 minutes. I asked her if she was interested in watching me stream, she said no. I asked her if she was there for the $10 special for a fully colored V-day card, she said it was too expensive. I found out the next day (since she used the same username in FA) that after leaving my stream, she had purchased a $50 full body sketch with nothing else. That completely crushed me.
I want to know if you all actually think my art might be worth something or not. I put a lot of effort and love into my artwork, but times like this makes it really seem all for naught. Since I'm my own boss now, I'm working on improving my technique, but with the trend lately, I'm wondering if it's even worth it. If it is worth something to you all, I will continue to spend my new found time and freedom to make your faith in me (if you have any) worthwhile (I'm actually just starting to experiment with using SAI now, alongside with my other 3 programs), and work 10x's harder than I have had the freedom to in the last 3 years. If not, I might just have to leave the art world and try capitalizing on another field and hope for the best after I finish this last pic for my Celebration. Yes, that also means I'll be deleting my account here on FA. I just want to hear (erh... read) everyone's thoughts on the subject.

Inform the original artists and have them report each of the drawings (this is the only way DeviantArt can take the work down cause they're a bit dumb). Let the person see that tracing doesn't get them anywhere!

In need of a respected artist to help me out for free.
Posted 14 years agoOkay, so a friend, Skree, promised to do a ref for me, but has not delivered, saying she would have to get home first to scan it. Meanwhile, it's been several months, and I haven't gotten shit, and she's been posting pics that she's been working on lately, so I'm sick and tired of this bullshit, and need a colored ref now! If anyone has the heart and time to do it, please let me know so I know when and where to expect to see one. I normally would pay money, but 2 days ago, I was laid off, so I'm pretty much broke until I find new work. PLEASE! I need the help of a good hearted artist who has time!
