Back Again!
Posted 5 years agoOk, now that things are settled, back to more frequent postings.
One of the reasons I stopped uploading was that PostyBirb, what I use to post quickly and efficiently to multiple sites, KEPT UPDATING every single time I opened it and it was annoying, because the moment my train of thought was broken, I would forget to come back and actually update. :/ Hopefully they're done updating it constantly.
Then... there was all the chaos of house repairs... leaks... ugh....

I try to stream on Twitch for a few hours on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 CST. Usually it's commission work. Tonight I will be inking and flatting a commission and am open for Wednesday night. I usually pencil on paper and show the pencil first, but I can work on the fly as well.

Memorial Day Weekend
Posted 6 years agoI'm doing much better about getting updates up. :D I'm almost caught up with my set schedule!
Unfortunately, it's Memorial Day Weekend meaning my family is home all weekend and Monday.. and my daughter is now home from school and another grade further along!

Posted 6 years agoSaved up to buy a shed to replace the one falling apart and so we can get stuff OUT of our house and where it belongs in storage. Ended up costing a little more than we budged for. That was fine! We're GOOD!
Following week, sewer decides to back up. :D Got it fixed.
Water heater died. :( :( So much pain. Got it replaced, because my neighbor is a very nice plumber who did an amazing job I might add.
My car got stuck in the mud for two days. :D Thankfully, husband had a friend who could come and pull us out and I discovered the tow hook and what those funny little round panels are on my car. :D
So finally getting back to my routine and I'm open for commissions as well as streaming tonight, tomorrow night, Friday night AND Saturday night if I have commissions on Twitch. I start at 6PM CST and usually end around 8pm CST. https://www.twitch.tv/shivaestudios

Distractions
Posted 7 years agoI am very easily distracted and since I have a teenaged daughter in high school and two puppies, I will vanish on occasion, but I'm doing better about coming back. :D This time, my browser crashed and took one of my ways of reminding myself to check in away. :D Reset my browsers so a window to each archive is always open to reply to comments and such! Oh.. and it's cold so I'm snuggling on the couch and working from there. :D

Wingust Pieces and posting!

Things are finally smoothing out and I'm working through my inability to get things done... by getting a lot of things done in a different way. All of my computer problems have had the effect of making it hard for me to work on my computers for inking. The level of frustration my Yoga gave me was THAT bad that it trained me to expect glitches every five minutes. My Yiynova had a similar issue at the same time where the stylus would just forget it was in use and turn off. I will NEVER purchase another Lenovo product, but will replacing mine until next year (or maybe the year after).
My Yiynova has served well, but it's time to get a replacement in a couple of years and NOT another Yiynova because I do not like their new pen protocols. I'll be getting a nice, big XP-Pen tablet monitor.
New styluses, btw, did fix my problems for the most part. My new Yiynova pen is better than the old one and my dog destroyed the pen for my Lenovo, which was the best thing ever, because I would NEVER have found out the pen was the problem if she hadn't.
This doesn't affect my ability to color or do anything else, JUST INKING, because inking was when these issues were the most frustrating. Yup, I am easily conditioned to avoid things that cause me frustration and getting back that ability will take time... so I'm inking by hand now and amazed that I'm actually not that bad at it and it looks ok. Now I just need to pick up some more supplies since I already drained one of my pens on all those Wingust pieces. I'm filling my other brush pens with ink from my favorite ink barrels or just dipping them now. >:D I got a tip to use a waterbrush for ink, but just dip it. Now I need to pick up a finger tipped one!
So doing good and getting back into gear! I'll even begin uploading a comic here soon!!

Safe to Say....
Posted 7 years agoI'm going to be able to mostly stop by daily now and update things. I am caught up with my Cyantian of the day work. :D I'm going to go through and see what else I can upload, then pick a comic to upload here on occasion.
I'll hopefully begin streaming again next week, although not talking if I'm streaming in the evening because I do not have a desktop of my own to do that from. :/ Maybe next year I'll build one. That's a big undertaking for me.

Furry Fiesta!

Posted 8 years agoI get really busy repeatedly and it's not with work.. .it's with real life. :/ Let's see if I can REMEMBER to log in again, also, in the hopes that I can locate the person who commissioned me for a badge as a gift that I was to mail to a friend - I never received an email of where to send it and I'm not sure how to get ahold of Aria. I'm going to d a little more digging, but it was commissioned at Furry Fiesta.

These are pay what you want pieces and flat colored, however, they are also 4 x 6 in size and unflattened, so you can shade them yourself or pay me to shade them for you. You can request a larger size. That's just my default. ;) Some of these, I may ask you if I can make prints of them to sell. I will always ask. That means it'll end up being shaded further and have a background.:D
I'm using this for Christmas presents. Not many. I want to get my daughter Pokemon Moon and myself Pokemon Sun. I also want to get one of the new $100 NEW 3DS systems to give to her ( so I can claim the 3DS XL that's supposed to be our family device... but sharing one among three people is kinda difficult.) I also need to get a new keyboard tray for my desk. Mine keeps falling off and the last time it did the edge flipped up and caught my wrist between it and the edge of the desk. :( That's only $38 on amazon or I could break down and replace my desk with a better one for $130.
I have a lot of anxiety when doing art for other people. A LOT. That would be why I stopped doing them in stream. After a few very painful - trying to figure out what the commissioner wanted and feeling like I was failing the entire time, it broke me. I've been trying very hard to get back into it and did recently finish up a bunch of inkings, but the feeling is still there and it wastes a lot of my time when trying to work on a piece. I still have a bunch to get done, but for now, I have found I really like doing these with the pose lineart already done for me to create off of. I'm going to do more like this. You can suggest poses btw. :)

New Acrylic Charm Kickstarter in the Works
Posted 10 years agoI'm going to be running a future Kickstarter to make a mass run of charm designs for upcoming conventions like Nightmare Nights and Furry Fiesta. I don't know why, but I've been avoiding the things I do best, which is basically.. cute things. I did very well selling my Cyantian based charms at the last con, Furry Fiesta and want to expand so I'm asking now, what do you like? This is what I'm plotting.
5 sets of charms, 5 charms designs in each set, themed after a creature. Each charm will be on clear acrylic and 1" in size.
Set 1 is Arya's Set - This set will be patterned after my cat, Arya, who is a calico, so they'll all be cute calicos.
Set 2 is Vash's set - Vash is my pembroke welsh corgi. :D
Set 3 is Nightmare Nights Ponies - These will be bat ponies, because I LOVE bat ponies. - This set won't contain the same assortment as the others.
Set 4 is Undecided
Set 5 is Undecided
For all sets except set 3, I will be doing one in each of these themes: Steampunk, Back, Hanging, Plush, and Sleeping.
For sets 4 and 5, I'm considering Fox, Dragons, Gryphons, Candy Skulls (For NMN), or something else. Post your thoughts if you're interested!
I'm also considering opening up commissions to design and make charms for people, at $75 for a 1" charm (You'd get the original art plus 10 copies of the charm) or 12 - 1.5" charms. I can order fewer of the larger charms, that's why you can get more for the same price. If anyone is interested, let me know.
