F that, lol. and i'm not interested in using a plugin or script or extension or w/e just to keep it functional how it should've been. melon gets nothing from me now. i'm simply done with the site.

***More information about the comic commission:*** it is ONLY one page. This is non-negotiable. You are allowed a maximum of 6 panels, but you don't have to use that many. You can write a scene yourself but I can probably work better off you giving me a loose idea and letting me thumbnail the page a couple different ways. It doesn't have to have text or speech bubbles but it's fine if it does. It can be a joke or a fight scene or NSFW or whatever (but just be aware that I don't really draw a lot of HARD™ SMUTTT™ so if you just want 6 panels of a dick in an asshole it might not be as good as you hope. Hello everyone, once again endeavoring to bump the previous journal off my front page because IT'S SAD AND I WANT IT OUTTA SIGHT. It has now been a little over 2 months since my mom passed away and things are alright. Most things have been taken care of and everything else is just kinda in the air due to the virus making it impossible to deal with them right this meow. SO I've been taking this time to do some ~~soul searching~~ to figure out what I really wanna do with myself.

I've been trying new stuff and just kinda yoloing it on a bunch of things lately, just throwing spaghetti at the wall. Made something of a hobby out of cooking since my dad and I can only eat hotdogs and fries for so long before we go insane, and it turns out maybe I don't hate cooking as much as I thought. I still don't LIKE it but it's tolerable as an activity when I can do whatever I want. I baked a cake!! It was great!

I've been back to streaming again, that's fun. I like doing that a lot. I wanna get back into drawing more. It's hard, though. My passion for it was stolen from me a long long time ago and I've never been successful in figuring out how to get it back. It's something I'm thinking about a lot, though.

Not too much else to say- oh wait yeah one more thing, a bit heavier. If you don't follow me on Twitter, recently my beautiful dog Franklin was diagnosed with lymphoma. We decided we wouldn't pursue any chemotherapy options, because he doesn't like car rides and doesn't like being away from us (he panics) and the centers are all at least a 45 minute drive away. It's not like we can explain to him what's going on, and it might make him more sick, too, so we said no. It's expensive, and we'd rather spend that money spoiling him for the rest of however long we have with him. We do have him on medication that appears to be helping with swelling though, so that's good! He doesn't seem to be in pain or struggling to breathe or eat so I think he's doing alright for now. I post pictures of him on my twitter all the time (and am infinitely more active there) so you can follow that for more updates if you'd like :]

Hey everyone. I'm mostly cross-posting this from tumblr, but I'm just making a quick update for people that don’t follow me on Twitter- I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but my mom passed away suddenly yesterday morning (Feb 23rd, 2020). She was very sick, and it just became too much for her. I’ll be okay, I have people I’m talking to, but we were very close, and I’m going to be taking all the time I need until I feel better.

I just wanted to make an update here because I know I mentioned in places I wouldn’t let February go by without updating Hellbound Guardian- I nearly have a page done, but understandably I don’t think I’ll get it out in the next few days. I also won't be opening for commissions for a while, won't be able to stream, and likely won't have many (if any) new designs coming out in the next few months.

Thank you everyone for your support. It truly means the world to me. Please tell your loved ones that you love them.

AYYY GOT A 2.5LBS BROWN TROUT!!!! My dad is so proud of me lmao he's so excited I caught a fish this size basically by myself (he grabbed it outta the water for me since we had no net and i only have 1.5 arms) I'm so glad. Messed my wrist up a bit fighting with the damn thing though so I let him reel in the next bite I got. I gotta say, he's giving me a run for my money with his first catch, a monstrous 6" rainbow trout, not sure how I'll top that one :( Unfortunately this lil guy swallowed the hook the entire way and his mouth ended up damaged pretty bad trying to get it out of 'em, so it didn't get to escape. A shame, and we feel bad, but perhaps another animal will enjoy a free meal of it. entropyyyyyyy

Went fishing with my dad on saturday and it was the best time ever even though we sat out in the cold for 9 hours and hardly got a god damn bite. I haven't been fishing in so long ;0; 11 years!!! our spot was all overgrown, we gotta bring a damn machete with us next time so we can hack the place back down to a relaxing chill zone lol. Hardly any good bites but I did remain holder of the "biggest catch of the day" record with this sweet snag. Yeah, it's a chub. Yeah, it's 5". I'm basically a fishing god.

hooked the poor guy pretty good in the face there, but despite that it readily escaped back into the depths of the river. little bastard had been stealing my (AND ONLY MY) worms all morning with little nibbles but never committed to its crimes, but I GOT IT. musta learned its lesson and told its friends about its abduction 'cause there wasn't a SINGLE BITE after that >:C

"wall" i guess? of one of my front teeth just snapped right off ;__; I saved the piece in a baggy so maybe they can glue it back on... thankfully it's not TOO bad, hard to notice from afar i think, and it isn't sensitive at all (WHEW). but you can definitely tell it's broken up close, and it has a sharp edge on one side. it feels brittle too, so i don't think i can get away with biting down on anything tougher than a really soft mozzarella stick (the idea of even that scares me tbh) so i'm probably still gonna have to get it fixed asap =_=

In my perfect world I wouldn't have to take commissions anymore and would just lay on a piano all day while beautiful women fed me grapes and we're surrounded by golden retrievers.
... But unfortunately this is a dystopian nightmare timeline and I still gotta draw pictures on the internet. I'm at peace with it. This post might be a bit long and it's kinda two-parted so if you're one of my four (4) current outstanding commissioners and you wanna skip to the part about you, it's in red.

Here's where I talk about how I'm gonna do commissions going forward. They're not open yet, that'll be a different journal, but going forward I think I'm only going to do a very specific set of work. I think I overwhelm myself very easily the moment I start taking larger commissions, because they come up in the queue and roadblock me super hard. Then I get roadblocked thinking about how blocked I've been, and it just spirals out of control and the next thing I know I've owed someone work for 8 months and wanna die.

Nobody wants to be kept waiting that long, I don't want to keep people waiting that long, and I just stress myself out non-stop over and over every single day that goes by that I don't manage to get any work done. I always think "just work on it, duh" but I just. can't?? FORCE myself to work on something?? Like, physically I cannot. I don't understand. It frustrates me a lot, tbh, in like a "I feel like a prisoner in my own useless flesh" kinda way. The times I *do* manage to force something out it looks... not the greatest, and I'm not comfortable giving someone work I don't think passes a certain standard, and while I think that is understood by a lot of commissioners (obviously) I also think there's a point where it's like, okay we've passed a time threshold, it's time to get it done. Blah blah blah business shit, *hissing snake voice* ethicsssssssssss

The sort of commissions I offer going forward are going to be strictly two types, and I will only ever be letting myself take 5 at a time to prevent The Overwhelm™ from happening. They will be sketches and icons. Prices are TBD but likely not too different from what they were in the past ($80+ USD and $35-45 USD respectively). Aaaand that's mostly it for that!

Here's where I talk about my 4 outstanding commissions. Man what a year LOL I'm so sorry some of you have been waiting so long but I am definitely, 110% shooting to get everything done before December 7th 12th. I'm bouta spill the real transparent beans here so I hope it's not, like, weird that I'm gonna talk about it or anything.

Between my tablet breaking down on me in late July, my excessively busy summer/fall (family events and doctor trips out the wazoo this year wtf), and then my PSU attempting to invent fire the other week, I am entirely out of money and in the big debt to my parents for bailing me out on the tablet & pc repairs. I have refrained from taking desperation commissions to pay them back because 1. that wouldn't be fucking fair to aaaaanyone involved, 2. it'd stress me out more and 3. I'm really committed to making sure I get y'all squared away ASAP.

Uuhh, I think that's pretty much it, actually. I always feel like I have more to say but then nothing comes up when I think on it, haha. I'm gonna try to get everyone's sketches (where applicable) out to them in the next couple days. Thank you guys so, SO much for your patience. You're all angels, and I don't deserve you ;3;

Edit: I got super sick like a day after making this journal (THANKS DAD KEEP IT TO YOURSELF NEXT TIME) and lost a few days to sweaty sleep, so instead of stressing myself out over it more I moved my remaining commissioners' (only 3 now) due date to December 12th instead of the 7th. Sorry!! ;_;

Last night during my WoW raid I commented on a strange smell in my room and then my pc powered off suddenly. I thought maybe it was a power surge of some kind but nothing else in my room or even that outlet area had turned off. So I booted it back up, did a cursory check over of the event viewer, nothing too abnormal, just an improper shutdown error. So I get back in the fight anddddd the smell starts getting worse. We finish the fight and I get my mom to assess the smell with me and we agree: strong stench of burning rubber in the corner of my room where my computer is.

I popped outta raid, shut the thing down, and searched for the burning source. Can't find anything in particular that smells or looks any worse than anything else. GPU seems fine, smells fine, and is fairly new, so I'm confident crossing that off the list. My other big problem area would've been my CPU, but I checked it and it all seems normal. Thermal paste is still spread and damp, even. I personally think it might be inside a fan, but haven't powered it up to look at it. Tomorrow a friend of mine is gonna come in and look at it with me to try to determine if it is a fan, and if it is we can probably replace it cheap from his store, so fingers crossed it's just a fan. Hopefully not the liquid cooling one on my CPU, since that's gonna be the expensive one, but knowing my luck it'll definitely be that one.

So yeah! Fingers crossed Sebastian isn't actually on death's door, because if he is that isssss unfortunate, because it means I can't even use the tablet I just got repaired and am still paying for lmaoooooooooooo(o's into infinity)

Edit: Upon further inspection it seems like the problem is the power supply. It's the only thing that still smells like burnt rubber and it STINKS. It also lines up with everything that happened; weird stink, cold shutdown, stink intensifying over time after having been turned on, stink dying down after having been turned off. Unfortunate, but at least I can replace it for around $100. Just sucks because it's non-mod so I'm gonna have to unplug EEEEEVERYTHINGGGGGGGGG BLARGH

I done got my teeth did! It was terrible! But at least it was free. Hopped on the sweet dental bus thing here that does emergency dental stuff free for low-income cats like me. I had a shitty double cavity in an overlap that was very difficult to work on, so it ended up not getting filled correctly the first time and I had to go back two more times (ree) waiting in the dang cold for an hour and a half at 7 AM to make sure I got in =_= Hopefully this time they're actually fixed!! Won't know until a few weeks from now if the sensitivity is gonna go away. Teeth suck, 0/10 don't recommend

Dental nightmares aside, I finally started streaming video game regularly last week, and I got my sub button! I made a fun sub/donation alert, and am quite proud of it!! Right now I mostly just stream WoW since that's all I really have that I play on a schedule and can also run while streaming (OLD COMPUTER IS OLD) but tonight I wanna play some monster hunter world!! Gotta get myself ready for the autumn festival update! I think I'll get around to it closer to 9 PM EST (when this journal is about an hour old) because I have to go mediate between my doggo Franklin and the dog we'll be petsitting for the next month when he gets here. Gotta make sure they're friends and all that.

My stream schedule right now is Tuesday & Wednesday from 9PM to 12AM EST since that's when we raid, but I'll likely also stream our Monday alt nights now that we're doing them again, also 9PM to 12AM. Everything else is kinda up in the air while I finish off these final commissions, but after that I wanna try streaming more things way more often. It's been a lot of fun! Been chipping through commissions a bit lately, still tough, getting used to new medication (which wasn't NEARLY as expensive as expected, the place I got it "quoted" at is just a dang ripoff vs where I actually intended on filling it) and I had a bit of a cold but fortunately it doesn't seem to have taken root. Yay! I am definitely due to catch the flu sometime soon. Existing and getting work done at the same time is also gonna get a bit easier now that the weather is cooling off FINALLY, though once winter rolls around it might get a bit touch-and-go again 6_6

In fun news, a friend of mine bought me a fucking Switch?? so I have been hitting monster hunter generations ultimate like a dang TRUCK. It's good that it's so fun and has high replayability because with new games costing 90 fucking dollars it's likely gonna be the only game I have for a long time LOL. I like that it's portable and can also connect to a screen! But I do wish the joycons were a bit more shapely. Being flat at the back hurts my baby hands after a little while of playing it when it's all put together. I dunno when commissions will be opening next. Ideally I'd rather... not do them anymore, but I know for sure that's not in the cards for a little while yet. I have been thinking for a long while that I want to do something else, because while I do love drawing and it is my pAsSiOn, doing freelance commissions as my job is very draining in many senses. I'd VASTLY prefer to pour my art energy into my comic, which only suffers every time I have to delay working on it to work on commissions. Delays that last weeks and weeks because by the time I'm ready to work on it again, I feel guilty for not using that energy to work on commissions. The balance is so hard to find and harder to maintain ;__;

I've been thinking I'd try my hand at streaming. My pals have been encouraging me on it and I'm pretty confident I could do it, though I'm not quite sure what I'd stream yet. Monster Hunter, obviously, but I need to replace my computer before I can really think about streaming video games. It's finally getting a bit too outdated to both run games and stream them at the same time. First I have to pay off my tablet repair though! ARGH, SO MUCH STUFF. EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO MUCH

Medication is expensive!!!

Last week the payment for the repair got refunded and we were told by usps it was being sent back to me, but there was no explanation from wacom as to why. So NATURALLY I was sorta anxious, like, are they sending it back to me broken?? What happened?? A friend of mine thought maybe they plugged it in and it worked so they just sent it back, which would've annoyed me a lot if I got it back and it worked fine and I spent $150 shipping it for nothing.

BUT

I got it back and it was COMPLETELY repaired. New bulb, new cords, NEW SCREEN (!!!) the WORKS. Setting it up took all my energy though because it's forkin heavy and I'm small. Plus it was monster hunter day so I was way too busy with that to really get all the excitement out of my system, which is why I'm writing this journal now instead of when I got it 12 hours ago (but also because I lowkey forgot it was back since it's behind my monitor right now lol oops)

hugest weight off my tiny shoulders though let me tell u. Art should return soon, thank GAWD

Edit 2: Slowly getting reacclimated w/ working with it. I think I put myself into hibernation by not expecting to see it again until October so using it again after a month of not having it is WEIRD

Just watched it disappear into a dark room to be mailed off. It's officially Outta My Hands, Literally. Part of me is worried I'll never see it again, but I'm giving myself until the end of October before I start panicking, haha... They said the repair could take anywhere from 10-15 days after they receive it, and Canada Snail Mail™ is real so I'm feeling preeeetty safe assuming it'll be at least 2 months. Then when it gets back I owe my parents a lot of money, lol.

In the mean time I will still try to finish things with the 13HD, but it is very very uncomfortable to work at for extended periods of time, so I can really only get a couple hours in each day. I worked on it for almost 5 on Friday and then took the weekend to relax my neck again @__@

In other news, finally got the call to set up an appointment with the psychologist. Now I just gottaaaaaaaa make... the phone call..... >:'l Hate making phone calls. Baby steps tho. We gettin' there o/

Seems like the backlight went out. I was talking to my mom and it just turned off, power still on, reacting to my stylus just fine, but no picture. Which means i'd have to send it to wacom to get serviced since only they make their stupid bulbs, and i don't have warranty and it's like 50lbs so it'd cost a fortune, so i may as well replace the thing. but I don't have nearly $2500 to replace this. i was gonna try to save up and replace my computer but now i gotta think about this. how am i even gonna make that money? i have a 13HD, and i could work off of it, but working on it for more than even 2 hours at a time is hell on my neck and wrist, and i equally can't risk destroying my body over this. ngl i don't really know what i'm gonna do about this, but in the mean time, things have been slowed down even more. i'm sorry. really didn't need this of all things right now lolllllll

edit: gonna call wacom today to see how much it'd cost me to get it repaired. might get the glass replaced at the same time too if it's not too hefty, since it's a bit scuffed up after 4 years of heavy use. i'm thinking it'll be somewhere in the $1000 range which is cheaper than $2500 at least so maybe that's at least feasible, even if it is gonna be outta my hands for a while. if it's under $1000 i'll be pleasantly surprised, to say the least. fingers crossed ;A;

Edit 2: $810 for a full service 😬😬😬 i dunno if that includes glass replacement, forgot to ask but they'll fix the bulb and any other detected problems so that's good at least ;-; now i just have to find $800. time to check the couch

Meowdy, been a while since I updated my journal again so HERE GOES-

Stuff has been pretty good for me, been having a few spells of feeling too sick to get up but for the most part I've felt pretty level! Relatedly I finally went to the doctor about ADHD and it's looking like a "Yes, Incredibly Likely", so I'm waiting on an appointment with a psychiatrist as a second opinion. If he agrees I'll likely be given a prescription and in that scenario I hope it helps me, even if only a little bit ;_;

My commission list is long, and admittedly I've been having a difficult time chipping away at it. Not because I don't want to; I desperately want to get them done so y'all don't have to wait anymore, but I just can't focus on anything. I don't want to start someone's commission unless I can focus on it, because I don't want to hand out bad work! But. It seems like it's been getting harder and harder to focus over the past few months. I've been forgetting things immediately after I'm told them, and I keep getting anxiety-adrenaline over things like thinking I lost my phone even though I already knew it was on my chair or in my pocket but I just forgot? Adrenaline like that ruins my WHOLE DAY. It's weird, and a little scary!! But I've been realizing I've sort of been living like this my whole life? And the amount of times I'm called out by my mom or a friend about being forgetful or scatterbrained or whatever eventually added up to "maybe this isn't normal" so I finally asked my doctor about it.

I know it's not ideal for me to basically be on hold like this and I'm trying to get everything settled as quickly as I can. It's not ideal for my commissioners and it's not ideal for me as this is my primary source of income, but like I said. I really really don't want to hand someone a commission that I don't think I put my best effort into, and I don't think I can put my best effort into things I'm not able to focus on for longer than 15 minutes at a time.

I'm trying to make the most of it, though! I've been spending short chunks of time here and there working on things for myself to relax (like that lil spyro doodle) in an effort to get myself into the practice of drawing everything the same way. I've always thought I had a problem with consistency; sometimes I'd ink things, sometimes I'd just clean my sketches, sometimes I'd paint my shading, sometimes I'd do hard shadows... Ultimately I just feel like I was spread out over too many things and that I'd confuse myself with what I wanted to do, or how I wanted my work to look. I think I've finally managed to find a process + end product combination that I find enjoyable instead of dreading.
