My little Aden crossed the rainbow bridge today... He was 21, very old for a cat, and I had him his whole life. I'm really going to miss him... I'd like to get something done of him.

Just kinda getting the old journal off the front page with new updates and such.

Uhhhhh.... Still working two jobs (nothing has panned out with looking for a better-paying single job), so art has been a little slow. I was able to do Artfight okay enough, and have been trying to complete more art in general as my limited time allows. Some of the stuff I've been posting lately had been sitting unfinished for a while.

Other than that, I am looking for a place to post that's more social media-ish. I'll still be here, but alternates are always nice - no? Twitter got ruined, Cohost shut down ... So... Idk, Bluesky? Is that any good? I feel so out of touch. My carrd shows where I have accounts, though I would like to update it a bit.

Hey y'all. I'm still here, just not making a lot of art atm.

I had to get a second job a few months back, so I have no time and it's winter so my SAD is in full swing.

Hey-o everyone who still watches me here!

Life... Well, it's kinda sucked lately. Not going into too much, but my mental health tanked late last year and then a couple weeks ago I caught covid so my physical heath came down to match. Having some lingering issues still.

If art is a bit scarce, that's why. I did manage to squeeze out a couple of my Pokémon Valentine cards though, so I'm really hopeful that not all my art mojo is lost.

It's been a busy summer and I kinda fell off the posting-art wagon for a bit. I also haven't been drawing a whole lot anyway.
Working in a hospital during a pandemic, and all the other things going on with life have kept me pretty busy and pretty drained.

I'm going to try to keep up and at least doodle some more. Bear with me, please.

I've been seeing a lot of PayPal charge back issues screwing over artists lately. Makes me nervous. What's a good alternative y'all are using?

So, my cat's surgery went well. About a week later I got the results of his biopsy. The cancer was a low grade and unlikely to have metastasized anywhere. I have to keep vigilant for any more lumps, but he should be cancer free! His stitches came out yesterday, and he's healing super well. Everything went as well as it could and I am so happy that my little furbaby is okay.

I am still open for commissions/donations to help with the bill, as it was on the high end of the quoted estimate. Anything helps!

So, I took my cat to the vet and he has a cancerous mass on his neck. They took blood work and x-rays this morning, and I'll know the results of those later today. If it's just the one lump and nothing internal, then there's a good chance he will be fine once it's removed. Surgery is on Thursday, pending the results of the tests. I would appreciate any thoughts, prayers, etc. that he will recover.

Also, I had to take out a loan to pay for everything. My computer is all set up in the new apartment now, so if anyone wants a commission, it would really help out. My commission info is on my website: http://shokiarts.weebly.com/

So, I am in the process of moving in with af-mas. Something that is waaaay overdue.

Anyway, since I am moving and all that there probably won't be (and hasn't been) art from me for a bit. I am also closing commissions for the time being until we are settled. I'll let everyone know when I'm open again.

I started immune suppressing drugs this year, so I'm going to be super germ conscious as I really don't want con crud. I will be wearing a mask/bandanna over my face while in crowds as I don't trust everyone to have the courtesy of covering their coughs and sneezes.

A fur local to me, Darius, is in a pinch. He and his boyfriend need their cars for their jobs and currently their cars are both out of commission. They need to raise some money to fix this, to keep their jobs.

Here is what Darius says:
