Keeping you Company
Posted a week agoThinking about and doing some writing for a couple other characters for the Infinite Kingdoms Universe. I think...I'm gonna title series with company names. Sort of treat them as the history of the companies. So, these will be:
Sulsa Synthetics - Lyshon Sulsa
Veltiosi - Qebehut Guerrière
Groweth Security - Talla Rowe
Saturn Genetics - Amanda Graives
Body Shop - Ana Graives
Ferryman - Avaliece/Kalintina
I like this concept and it makes jumping around between feel a bit more natural.

Life update
Posted 3 months ago1. I got a new cat. His name is Mack. He's 1-year-old so still a kitten running around and making a mess of things. He loves to play in the tub with the shower curtains.
2. All the normal names for my Edian characters will be returning as...I don't remember the other ones, and...it's fine. I think I sort of lost interest as I tried to makes something entirely unique and create too much lore, and I think there was a lot of fun some of the old bits. So...we'll see. Might be fun to go back to those characters and that world and do some just simplified action stuff.

RIP Buttercup
Posted 9 months agoFarewell, Buttercup. My sweet little cat. You were a bright light in my darkness and never passed up snuggles. I'm sorry for yelling at you at times, and for not having the money to let you pass in less pain. Thank you for 8 wonderful years.
First 2025 Journal
Posted 10 months agoSo, I am gonna rewrite Consequences Episode 0. It will now be from Rotora's POV, and tell a story about the beginning of the Forever War, and the shift from peaceful races to races shaped by war.
Also. I realize that Avaliece's episode might end up being extra long as there's a lot that happened in her life, so I might end shifting to Parts and Chapters. So, it'll probably be something like Part 1: Avaliece; Chapter 1: The Baton (Referring to her taking up the mantel from her mother as an unofficial Leader of the Mystics.
Also, also. Consequences will probably get a new name eventually. Maybe just something as simple as "The Mystics of Itel" to fit with "The Witches of Eden."

Plans for Consequences and 2025
Posted a year agoSo...I might be getting into commissioning for cover art for the new series. I was thinking of commissioning 1 artist per story, but we'll see how that goes.
That said, with the Holidays, and me finally upgrading my PC in December, I won't be starting to pay for commissions until January. So, Consequences will be a 2025 project. I have a lot of ideas, so this might expand out more, and I think after the first season, I would like to settle on an artist.

Restructering
Posted a year agoWitching of Eden and the Great Alliance Universe are being officially converted over to the Infinite Kingdoms Universe.
This was originally intended to by my fantasy universe, but putting things in one universe helps, and the theme of the IKU is better established.

Introducing the Mystics Saga
Posted a year agoThis will be a sort of Prequel series to the Witches of Eden. Taking place during the last 300 years of Itel, it will introduce readers to the Mystics, a group of 26 powerful magic users, and the precursors to the Edenian Witches. When they hit puberty, their magical powers manifested, and small glphys formed around their joints. Each as a different magical color, each with their own Resonance. Each with their own traumas.
So, far, I know of the 4 "survivors." And will come up with the others later. I was originally gonna do some of these as fanfiction, but I might do a sort of Alternate series alongside. A "canon" and "noncanon" variant. I might actually use one of those as a key plotline where one of the Mystics has to stop/save their alternate self.
Anyway, the current known 4 are:
1. Ilyun Ros - Elemental - maned wolf - Doctor Hellhound
2. Ulus - Life - fox - The Goddess
3. Avaliece - Truth - panther- Grim Reaper
4. Lucy Scarlette - Healing - fox - Ranubis
Some of them have obtained...other things, along their journey. Right, now I think Lucy is the most powerful, followed by Ilyun.

Stories are coming!
Posted a year agoI've stopped writing my novels, but I am gonna get back into writing soon. I already have a couple ideas for a couple X-Men crossover fan fictions with my characters. And then probably a good "What If..." story that envolves a new character.
Also, Introducing a new character: Dr. Ilyun Ros AKA Dr. Hellhound, a maned wolf Mystic who can control the 4 elements. Think of the Avatar but cranked to 11. She has a lot of mental trauma and severe fears of being imprisoned and being tortured...and probably well, being trapped in small space. Known as cleithrophobia. Because of this, I figured she'd make a good fit with the X-Men. Also, she's considered a war criminal...but that's gonna be a thing for ALL Itellin moving forward. (I might do something really fucked up, and have her armor etched with tally marks. But they don't represent her kills, but the number of times she was captured.)
I've also created a new bad guy: The Harvesters - a race that poses as scavengers, but preys on small 1-3 manned vessels and prisoners, harvesting them for their organs and then eating the rest. They also love to torture immortals. Eventaully, they become such a problem that every organization in the universe has a "kill on sight" order against them and they've learned their patrol routes, and tactics. Some organizatoins have got so far as to destroying any scavenger ships they come across.
So...some darker stuff ahead. One of the stories I'm gonna write is a Ana and Imyyr spookying the X-Men for Halloween, though, so it'll be fun. Also, I have learned new phobias:
1. Cleithrophobia - fear of being trapped in small spaces
2. Carcerophbia - fear of being imprisoned
3. Mesainikavasanistiriophobia - fear of being tortured

Future of Witches of Eden
Posted 2 years agoI think, I wanna go with a more Cyberpunk/Fantasy series with it. Bring back guns, and just have this semi-advanced race of cyberpunk furries who often infuse their weapons with magic. Sort of a blend of Cyberpunk 2077 and Shadowrun and Outlaw Star. I think I can keep most of the story the way it is.
I will also be reducing my action scenes because...I hate writing them. They're hard and they slow my progress.
Also, I am thinking about moving to a chapter-by-chapter web series with it. And each season will focus on a different character, probably ending with either Ana or someone else. We'll see.
Details of the restructure:
I will keep the Resonnances, just because...I like them. But I can then maybe take my current idea for Talla's Dragonslayer Witch Arch as maybe taking down a group of corporate leaders. Which I feel fits a bit more with my original idea.

It's a new year! What I'm working on for 2024
Posted 2 years agoOkay, I know I've been promising new short stories and not delivering and that's on me. I've been a little burned out on Witches of Eden stuff, so I took a break. I'm working on another project that is sort of related to Witches of Eden, but it's been a fun break.
As for Witches of Eden...I don't know. I think I wanna bring guns back and turn into a more cyberpunk fantasy thing like Shadowrun, but furry. I think that might just be really fun. My other problem is...I don't know entirely what I wanna write for it. I have bits and pieces of stories in my head, but nothing solid. So...we'll see. I'm going to finish this one project I'm working on and we'll go from there.

Life update and Halloween Special!
Posted 2 years agoSo, I have a job. I work Saturday - Tuesday as a janitor. I do, however, plan to go back to school next year.
Anyway, I am gearing up to get back into writing and I am gonna try to write a Halloween Special this year. We'll see if I can get it done in time. It will be called "Solace in Shadow" and will introduce you all to Irkowa, the Shadow Lord. An 8'6 hyena that got trapped in the Shadow World with no way out for a while and now rules it. Or at least rules over a portion of it.

One More Thing
Posted 2 years agoSo, with the removal of genders, the question of what to do about the whole love quadrangle with Amanda, Xavier, Hawthorne, and Rachel. As that whole thing originally stemmed from gender-related issues and my solution...will probably be to just completely drop it and have Iola and Harroth just fall in love. Maybe I can swap the roles and maybe have Taiva and Nylit try to fight for their affections, but...I don't know. We'll see. But...yeah, without the gender issues, Iola and Harroth not getting together just seems stupid. In lore, they were madly in love with each other but didn't get together because of Amanda's angst and her wanting kids. So...removal of that barrier, it'd just be...Iola being stupid. Which, I guess would be a unique reason. But then I just couldn't see Taiva or Nylit going along with it. So...yeah.
(Sorry about going back and forth between the names for this, but if it helps:
Iola = Amanda
Harroth = Hawthorn
Taiva = Xavier
Nylit = Rachel)

Good News Everyone! It's an info dump!
Posted 2 years agoOkay. 1st. IRL stuff. Got a job as a janitor but I am also moving next week.
Onto writing news:
1. I am making the decision to remove guns from Witches of Eden, which I think I already mentioned. But I'm also removing gender pronouns for the sake of clarity. it just didn't make sense in my head to call Edians a genderless society and then have them use pronouns. Their idea was "If you can wield a weapon, why limit your military might?"
Also, I had this cool idea for a device that Talla would use to summon weapons from an armory in a pocket dimension, and then I sort of removed that dimension 'cause it became a sort became a broken place where Talla would hangout and built stuff for literally centuries 'cause time moved slower there. But, I think if I either remove that, or, I was thinking of making it basically a "warehouse of holding" and thus, like a bag of holding, it has no oxygen. Which, she'd probably have a setup for staying there for extended periods of time, but she couldn't stay there forever.
Anyway, the objects in question are a pair of bracelets that link to the dimension and control what she summons via readout on her arm or via the optics of her cybernetic eyes. It's just that now, instead of guns, it'll be arrows and swords and other melee items.

Change of Power
Posted 2 years agoSo, with the shift to a gunless society, I have realized having Talla have a sharpshooter power is a bit pointless. And I'm not sure what I'm changing it to. It will either be nothing or duplication with a rule she doesn't duplicate living things as that can get creepy very quickly. I'm sort of leaning towards just taking away her superpowers simply because she is basically Superman for the same reasons: that is, being pure Itellin and them coming from a world orbiting two celestial bodies one of which being a boson star (dark matter star), exposing the Itellins to increased gravity, on Eden which orbits a single, albeit large star, the gravity is significantly less, thus giving her increased strength, speed, and jumping abilities. So, she pretty much has superpowers with that, so...yeah, I don't think she needs anything extra.
New Witches of Eden Lore
Posted 2 years agoItellins have historically seen the usage of guns as being too informal. As a warring race, they have always preferred melee or hand-to-hand combat over shooting at each other across a great distance. The closest they use are bows and arrows, which can be designed to cover a great distance, but, since a bow requires physical strength to use, it's allowed. There are no compound bows in Itellin or Edian culture.
This is all not to say they haven't made guns. They have tried them but did find them impersonal and actively consider them cowardly. That said, they did have a thriving arms trade for a while. Guns were their number 1 export. The problem was, they would make sure their own armor could withstand the guns they sold. However, by the time they stopped selling guns, theirs were the best in the universe and an Itellin rifle still sells for a LOT of money to the right collector. They had a bit of a good cycle going. See, instead of simply building a gun just weak enough to not pierce their armor, they'd actually build the gun so that it WOULD piece their armor and then just upgrade their armor. They did this several times. Usually when the buyers bawked at them. They would then show up with a set of dummy armor and show their new gun could easily shoot through it. Meanwhile, their new armor was impervious.
But eventually, as their buyers caught wind of this scheme, the Itellins stop selling guns. Or at least not publically. There were still plenty of black market buyers who understood that keeping one safe from their own weapon was good, but they also understood that because of that cycle, it meant that Itellin weapons were the best. However, since demand has gone down, prices have gone up and production is now handled by a single manufacturer. They're fully funded by the Edian government, but they still make sure they cannot pierce Edian armor.

Semi-Emergancy Commissions Open
Posted 2 years agoAlright, so my lease runs out at the end of August, so I need money to move/pay for rent. I'm looking for various places for work right now, but if anyone wants a story written or some proofreading, I can do that.
Rates:
Writing: $5 for a short story
Proofreading: $1 per page. (And if you do something sneaky like make the font extra small...I'm probably just gonna refuse the request. I'm old. My eyes aren't that great. Anything smaller than FA size font, will be hard for me to read.)

More Guardian Angels Conversions
Posted 2 years agoSo, Talla's new thing is she has a security company and to populate that team...I'm just gonna move all of Saipia's Angels and her Apostles over. More of a merger as some of the Apostles will just get replaced with members of the actual Angels. But most of the Apostles should make the jump. I'll rename people as I go and I'll post the new completed conversion list at some point.
The Not-So-Epic Renaming Journal
Posted 2 years agoSo...A few of the Guardian Angels will be making the transfer over to Witches of Eden along with Saipia. They're now on Talla's Super Security team. (Perhaps I will do another Character Sheet. I do need to write up descriptions of some, anyway.) Anyway. So, far, besides Saipia, only five will appear that I know of and only two will need name changes.
Isan and her sister Kammy are returning. No need to change names there.
However:
James Elisa Connell - Aylan Ro
Evan "Jack" Taylor - Layloya "Jak" Envers
Erica Martin - Zyra Royz
Also might change Erica back to her original jaguar form for shits and giggles.

Switching up Laura's profession...again
Posted 2 years agoSo, I tried her as a magic wrestler and the more I think about it, the more the ensuing initial fight scene is too silly. And, really, Laura's had a profession this entire time that I've been ignoring and I think it'd fit better with the story: the Lead Singer/guitar for the Graivestones. With Talla as the owner of a security detail and a fan of Laura's, it just fits with the scene. Although, an assassination attempt at a concert does feel a little cliche at this point, but I think I can make it less so.

Grace gets younger
Posted 3 years agoI bet not a lot remember my Scallywag series starring Grace Graives. I had written her as Laura's cousin, but with current timelines shifting, I'm deciding to make her Ana's cousin, being Lauren's daughter. Lauren's spouse is known as Indyr.
A couple of other things: Eden doesn't have gender-specific names. They wouldn't, considering the very topic of gender is a bit taboo to them. So, every name I will come up with will be unisex. And speaking of, I have a LOT of new names coming. As I mentioned, I'm rewriting Christmas Magic. And the WHOLE family is together minus Laura and Talla (Although Talla might appear...maybe) but that means I have to think of new names for everyone.
Also, Laura's new name is Olarra but she just goes by...well, it should be "Lara" but...I will probably keep it as "Laura." That means Lauren is technically "Olarran" As she was originally "Lauren Talla Graives" A play on her grandparents' names. So, she'd be "Olarran Talla Graives" now.
Anyway, the next journal should be a list of new names.

Christmas Magic 2022 Edition
Posted 3 years agoI am slowly working on it. It will probably be out sometime in January 2023 at this point, but I am working on it. Reading through it again, I realized the old one is very out of date, so I figured I'd completely re-write it and get it more in line with the current canon. Hopefully, this will be the only rewrite as I would like to finish the first book by this time next year and maybe get things ready for publishing in 2024. We'll see. My goal is to have at least the rough draft of a book finished every year. But that might be every other year if I'm also publishing stuff. So. we'll see.
I am getting a pretty good lore going. I now know the whole history of Eden...and I might really just leave it at Eden and leave out the whole rest of the cluster. I like my idea about it, but I also like it just being a single planet.
Anyway, I will keep people posted on my progress and I might post more short stories here throughout the years. Maybe work on rewriting some other things to fit canon. Do a sort of tour. That means probably some of Amanda's stuff will appear in an updated form. I should write some Laura and Talla stuff. And some Coven stuff.

New Witches of Eden prequel novel
Posted 3 years agoIntroducing Rise: The Fall of Itel. Kalintina will tell the story of how her homeworld of Itel, home to an extremely aggressive warring racing of anthros fell from grace, were exiled to another universe, and became the Edians and Kinila. No witch in the title 'cause...Kalintina isn't a witch because they didn't exist at that time.
