I Need to Take a Break or I Might Actually Hurt Myself.
Posted 3 years agoThis feels like a journal that's been coming for a bit, but likely due to my need and feel to always be working.
All that working seems to have caught up to me -- and I have pain running up from my drawing-hand up my arm, and around my shoulder.
It's likely some kind of Repetitive Strain Injury, which considering all the drawing I do would make sense. I've been taking better care of myself lately, but it feels like my body is overwhelmingly calling for a longer period of rest other than 'Okay, Spaz, take a day or two off'. -- Which is how I usually try to do things.
...Until that need to draw suddenly comes up again, and I find myself breaking routine.
---
More or less -- A problematic cycle of "I need to work on these so I can clear my queue and also make money to eat and pay bills --- But if I rest, I'm not doing any of those things! I'm wasting time!" is resulting in my arm telling me that enough is enough.
---
I've contemplated doing a GoFundMe, but figured a regular donation drive might be a bit better. Maybe the donation rewards can even go towards inking and coloring a pretty big (for the OTHER account) animation I'm working on! ... After my break, of course. ;;'
But no, seriously -- Spaz needs a break. A proper break, or else Spaz' arm will refuse to function outright before Age 30.
I would rather have people wait a few weeks for me to recover, than to not have them ever get a piece if I actually fuck myself up physically >.<''
It's a prospect I'd rather not think about. I enjoy drawing too much.
And to enjoy it further, I need to take a step back.
If you'd like to donate towards my recovery / bill-pay / foodstuffs relief, please consider using my Paypal.me, here --> Spazman's Den

Thank you all, again, for being awesome. I'll do my best to stretch and rest and recover! ;;/

Profile Page Updated.
Posted 3 years agoEnjoy the new look. I'm going to try being here on FA more often.
Twitter sucks for those with ADHD, or anything of an addictive personality. Or sucks if you're trying to get seen literally at all.

Happy New Years / Some Updated Info
Posted 4 years agoHey, guys! I've made a bit of a two-year retrospective on the alt-account, so if you'd like to see what's been going on in my head the past couple years, and my continued effort to get my work taken care of, then please head to my Spazman alt to read!
---
I hope everyone's year goes much better this year. There's been a wide push for unions and sticking together with industrial and common workers, a trend I hope continues well into this year and the next (for a long time).
I genuinely hope and.. believe some major social pushing and changes must and will happen soon. I worry for a lot of people.
---
Updated Info:
So; I want to get back to using this account for purely my non-vore stuff, and that also means incoming and outgoing notes. If you want a vore commish, please go to the Spazman alt and ask there -- I'd prefer keeping this account for more vanilla smut. As always, just ask if you're unsure.
I'm still working things down.. but as of now, I'm waiting on a new tablet pen as well since it seems I've lost it in frickin' Narnia, and I've searched this whole house easily 5 times. Sooooo, waiting on the mail.
I hope everyone here is doing fine so far. Hopefully with the imposed break, my hands will hurt a bit less and I'll be inspired to do more!

You know,
Posted 4 years ago.. It feels good to have a mostly-empty Notes cache now.
I've not been down to a single page of commission-related notes in.. fucking years.
At least it tells me I've been getting a bit of my work done.

If you've seen my art on this page, you'll know my general preferences.
Had to pay a few things off recently and still recovering from the lack of a tablet.
Please, bear with me.

Just So There's No Surprises -- (Taking a Break.)
Posted 5 years agoI might need to take a small break from art for a few days.
My right hand is in pain.
It's the joints / muscles right between the index finger and middle finger.
My hand fucking hurts.
And it looks like part of the hand around where I specified is swollen.
It looks like more than one day is needed to help this.
Of rest, that is.
I'm sorry for art delays.
I did at least get WIPs of two things done.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme.....5UXkAAzbOT.png <-- The hand, for reference. Swollen around middle / top of index finger, part of middle finger.

Iron / Blind Artist Drive for IRS Funds
Posted 5 years agoAlright. It's kinda come down to toying with ideas to see what would work the best here.
So, I'm putting forth the option for slightly reduced-price sketches until April 15th in order to stow away funds for a potential handing-in for taxes and the like. Spaz doesn't wanna get in trouble and the like.
So. That being said, I'm running an Iron / Blind Artist drive to help accumulate funds for this purpose. And, to help me get speedier with sketches in general.
Single-character sketches are 30 rather than 35, and two-person sketches are 50 rather than 52.50. Helps round out the cost a little.
Iron Artist = A lot of these will be made.
Blind Artist = You give me a detailed description of what you want happening, and I'll draw it. No revisions, modifications (unless there's glaring anatomy trouble), etc. I'll take payment, and you get what you get.
---
Rules and Notes:
1. These are produced without background so as to save time and put more effort into the characters and composition itself.
2. For a substantial fee, sketches can be upgraded later at commissioner's request.
3. Tentacles will be treated as HALF of a second-character, and the sketch price will be 40.
4. This same $40 price applies if less than half a character is present / head unseen. This mostly applies to vore commissions.
5. There will be NO list kept for these. You will be worked-on when I say you are worked-on, and payment taken before beginning a sketch. Sketch will be produced same-day. No exceptions.
-- No Oral / UB Vore commissions accepted at this time. Sticking to what I know. --
---
Thank you in advance for ALL who want to get in on this. Leave a comment below if interested.

The Situation So Far -- Life Update.
Posted 5 years agoHere's the current situation.
I'm trying to get a foot wet in finally doing taxes from my art as a business. Today, however, I found out that.. well.. taxes are fucking high.
All-in-all, I need to make $4,000 before April 15th. In order to not owe anything to the IRS for the past year (in taxes).
I'm going to be putting away maybe 40-50% of my income away into the bank from commissions for the next two months in order to save for this. If I can't reach my goal, I'll try to at least make a big down-payment.
I'm still doing my best to get to past commissioners.. but this puts a fucking damper on things.
If anyone is inclined to do so for the sake of helping-out, I'm taking donations in whatever form as well as commissions.
http://www.paypal.me/Spazman
If anything can be spared, that would be wonderful. Thank you in advance.
Work Update / Life Update
Posted 6 years agoSo.. Most of the Trello page is now accounted for, and the end of my queue finally in sight. Aside from a couple new things popping up on PoiZen, this is.. probably the least burdened things have been since maybe like.. 4-5 years ago.
It really feels good, to be honest. Not only to be done with so much unfinished an unaccounted work, but also to finally have a more.. I suppose 'consistent' posting / working time I have now.
I thank everyone so far for their patience, as it's been helping to get through this all. Getting through this list was one of my main resolutions for this year, and I'm thankful to say that has been MOSTLY achieved.
It certainly wasn't going to be an overnight thing. In the midst of anxiety and frequent depression bouts, I'm surprised to have gotten this.. quickly done, more or less.
Thank you, for over the past..
...
...Man, it's been nearly 9 years since beginning this.
This all started as merely a coping mechanism for something far more dire, and yet I've come to find a community that's been welcoming as a second family. Extended family. Much more an actual one than the mostly-former one I'd come to know all my life.
It wasn't until recently that started to really.. 'click' with me. It's good to be a part of something big.
Never does one think of traveling so far, so much, and actually achieve it. Never dreamed of flying, but achieved it. Never dreamed of owning a car, much less one that's.. appealing on a personal level. So much accomplished this year that is sometimes taken for granted. I hope I never do.
Thank you all. Again. Honestly, I'm not sure where my mind nor myself would have been if I hadn't happened across this lovely community.

This one is part of the backlog, but it's an interesting concept. Commissioner specifically requested a YCH auction be done up with two character slots!
All art in this will be refined, updated, whatever to make it look better, on completion of this :)

Update on the Trello Commissions!
Posted 6 years agoI've been getting through a lot of them!
A lot of the work from that page has been disappearing QUICKLY so far over the past week, and honestly I'm feeling pretty good about it.
It fucking sucks it's taken me so long to get to so far, but I'm doing my best to get it ALL down, and most importantly the 'To be completed' queue down to where it's all readable on one page, and eventually, gone >.>;
Making sure I do more content on hopefully a daily basis? Hoping I don't burn out.

Posted 6 years agoAre we alive? For real this time?
I'm tired of playing the 'take a drink every time FA goes down' game.
I don't hold my liquor very well.

Man. I just realized.
Posted 6 years ago..I have a bit to post here. This month was about clearing some of my more recent major backlog items. Starting in July, everyone here will begin to see my Trello list die down for good.
Sorry for not posting lately. Time has been getting away from me.

Shiny Things, Apparently.
Posted 6 years agoSo, I've no clue if people would use this or not? But.. I've set up that shiny thinger that just came out today.
I still plan to primarily make funds from doing my normal commission work and all, but.. well, everything helps as well.
In other news, I'm back from Nevada / BLFC! I'm back to work as well, as shown earlier!

Back to Normal.
Posted 6 years agoA problem over here where I live has been situated now. I finally have my very own bed and box-spring that I've bought myself, that isn't a hand-me-down or otherwise.
It feels very nice to lie on. And hopefully helps out my back in the future. Sleeping on a crappy bed / small couch has NOT been doing me any favours.
Stay tuned.

A Friend in Need.
Posted 6 years agoSo a friend within the fandom, as well as constant repeat convention roommate
XFactor3802 is doing his best to try to secure himself a proper place to live, potentially with roommates, in the very near future due to very ushering circumstances within the household.
He is currently employed, but due to the nature of said employment, he needs to be in close enough distance to an airport. PArticularly if they support employees from Delta Airlines.
I have suggested a move to my hometown / current place here in Louisville, but if anyone has better suggestions, please let me know here.
Louisville itself has considerably cheap costs of living, as does the surrounding Clarksville, IN / New Albany, IN. locations.
If anyone here or anywhere else could help out or post here, please either post here or note me.

A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Posted 6 years agoFuck, I love this album. And really nice to listen to while working.
Sorry for the Silence.
Posted 6 years agoI know I've been incredibly quiet lately. I'm still working on commissions, but I've finally found the drive I've been looking for again. THAT alone feels nice.
Apparently I was further behind than I'd initially thought, as there have been some people coming to me about commissions I forgot I owed, before my Trello was made. Thankfully, I've been getting to those people as well.
I'm getting caught back up quicker, though. Definitely no slouch. But there's a backlog of stuff I actually need to POST up on here. So after I get a few more WIP things done, I'll round up everything and post up on here either en-masse, or do a drip-feed of stuff I've been doing lately.
Thank everyone for the immense amount of patience lately! <3
