Brief Update

I dislike FurAffinity for the most part these days, and I generally only upload stuff when I'm feeling particularly prolific. Most of my updates/art can be found on my twitter, which is also where I almost exclusively post commission openings. I'll put this information permanently on my page in a second--I feel bad for the people who've noted me asking me about commissions, and then don't hear from me until a week or two later.
I'm still trying to get a job that's more... relevant to my degree (Illustration), however, I still work in the theme park industry, and I'm still sorta struggling to make ends meet. Probably getting another part-time job soon. I've got a car that, of course, was said to have been "worked on and should have few issues," and of course, I've had many an issue lmao. Still working on paying all those repairs off.
On a positive note, I bought some new shelves from IKEA so my vast piles of "stuff" can sit somewhere OTHER than my workspace.
Still waiting for the day I can responsibly own an animal.

I am very sincerely sorry for disappearing. It was incredibly unprofessional of me to not keep my commissioners updated as I disappeared for months, and I have commissions owed for over 4 months now. I'm convinced that I have really crumbled the reputation I worked so hard to build over 2015, and that's really no one's fault but my own. No one has complained to my face yet about my disappearance, but the number of artists who have acted in the way I have, and have gotten complaints, is continuously growing, and I know it'll just be a matter of time before it catches up to me. I will be sending out notes to the people who have already paid for their commissions, offering a choice of a refund, or if they'd like to continue doing business. I completely understand that this was really shitty of me to do, to make people wait so long.
For those of you who simply have a slot reserved and have NOT paid, I'll be sending notes/messages to you, too, about whether or not you'd like to continue to do business. It is in this moment that I am grateful that I don't require payment up front, and I do so for these EXACT situations. I know my real life is unstable right now with jobs and living situations, and for that, I know I cannot be dependable.
As for why I disappeared for so long, it's as simple as a combination of a new job and horrible work ethic on my part.
When I moved to Florida in July 2015, I had no jobs lined up. I simply picked up my stuff and left, hoping that something would work out. My parents are unable to financially help me in any way, so I was making some really bad decisions in terms of finance. I wouldn't have a job until October, where I found part-time work in retail, but it was only about 15 hours per week, at minimum wage. I loved it, though, as I felt a sense of community, and I was performing well enough to gain the trust and reliance of my superiors in the work place. I still needed money, so in November, I landed a "full-time" job at an independently-owned UPS Store. I worked there for just 1 week before I realized I was being underpaid, under compensated, and over worked. I was being asked to do things that were not apart of my job description whatsoever, and I was being paid $9.50/hour for professional graphic design and printing work.
I quit the week after, with one day notice. The boss I worked for was a horrible, cheap man, and while I was able to support myself well for those two weeks, I could not emotionally bear it.
I worked part-time at the retail place for another two months, and it was during that period that I thought I could make art a full-time job. My prolific upload status went up, I started pioneering the world of adoptables, and I started friendships that I felt I could handle. However, I do not have a great amount of self-discipline. I thrive on interaction and the opportunity to make people smile face-to-face, and when I am stuck in my room for 10 hours a day, I was becoming increasingly frustrated.
At that point, in mid-January, I decided to take a dive and apply to Universal Studios Resort in Orlando. Honestly, I had/have always wanted to work in a theme park, but because of how far we lived from the parks (and with me not having any sort of transportation of my own), I had ruled out the possibility. But, just for shits and giggles, I did it, and I was called the next day for an interview. Within hours of THAT day, I had a job working with attractions.
The news was amazing, and I felt like I could really work to my full potential being on the Universal team. Roller coasters and amusement parks have been a fiery passion of mine since I was 7, when my dad took me on my first non-kiddie roller coaster. However, the transportation issue came up. I went from "we'll figure it out when we get to it," to "we're here, and we haven't figured anything out." And while my roommates have been incredibly supportive and RIDICULOUSLY financially helpful, it became quickly clear that asking for a 45-minute drive, back and forth, every day, just so I could go to work, was asking a lot.
So, I started car shopping this past March, and I still do not have a car. Even worse, I cannot afford a car. I've asked my grandfather to help with a down-payment when possible, and we were almost on to something in the last week of March, but that was when I realized I could not afford monthly payments on a car, and would likely just have to buy something cheap with cash. However, because I am getting my grandfather's help, he insists that we find something more reliable so that I do not put more money into repairs than into the car itself. Which, makes sense--but I'm desperate. I need to be able to get to work.
Between all this stress of simply making enough money to cover the bills I have now, plus trying to find money for the coming bills with insurance and car payments, I have lost some friendships that I worked to build during the last few months. That stress added with the financial and mental, and I just couldn't bring myself to even open FurAffinity, or even my computer, for long. I also have non-fur clients who have been waiting for about 2 months now for websites and sushi menus. Luckily, I've at least started some of that, but my work load is heavy and much overdue, thanks to me thinking I could take everything all at once with a new job.
Also, it'll be time to move again before I know it. So that's coming up.
Again, I deeply apologize for not getting any of this out sooner. As my customers, clients, and friends, you all deserved to hear it as soon as I could. Unfortunately, I'm a dingle.

Financial Help Needed

Hello all,
really sorry to be one of "those" artists that have to beg, especially with my queue still full, but I need help. I have a student loan payment of $350.48 USD due tomorrow that I have about $50 for. My parents had originally offered to help me out with the payment, but I had forgotten to tell them what the due date for the money was, and they don't get paid until next week. It's definitely my fault that I'm in this situation, and I apologize, I truly hope I don't have to do this again.
I can't ask for loans from anyone, because I have no idea when I'll be able to pay back, especially in a timely manner. If you are interested in a commission from me, you can absolutely request that--it'll just probably be a bit of a wait as I continue to search for a full-time job that I can actually support myself with, as I don't think strictly freelancing is going to work out for me anymore. I typically do not require any sort of payment on commissions until tight sketches are done, but seeing as how I'd need the money right away, I'll have to forego that. Also, the wait for the commission may be a good few months, so make sure you're okay with waiting a bit while I try to pick myself up.

Back from MWFF ; Update
Posted 10 years agoFirst off, Furfest was amazing per usual. The convention is ALWAYS well-run, set up super professionally, and the hotel staff is always super excited to see us. I was able to establish some new friendships and see some people from the Milwaukee/Chicago area that I'd left behind when I moved down to Orlando. Overall, super nice, super fun, and I feel great about it. I was also able to see my siblings for a bit, who have both sort of made a conversion to the furry fandom now. My brother just kept saying, "I really want a fursuit now..." so that was hilarious. It was also nice to not have to leave Yodel this year! We're back home together, along with our roommates. Really, really glad I didn't have to say goodbye to all of them.
The roommates and I debuted our sled dog fursuits (all made by Sunny Valley Creations of course), and it was so awesome to see the public reaction to the suits. They really seem to have been well-received, and I absolutely LOVE acting in Cascade.
Due to a sort of falling out with my mother, I've officially decided to attempt to take up illustration/fandom work as a full-time, primary job. I have a huge debt over my shoulder in addition to the typical bills every month, so it'll be very difficult, and I am AWFUL and self-management and self-discipline, but I don't exactly have another choice right now. So! Hopefully more art uploads. Hopefully. I mean it needs to happen, right?
That being said, I am working on clearing out my queue and polishing things up. My commission tab on my main profile is up to date, and my front page on this account and on my NSFW account should be as up-to-date as possible right now.
If you are interested in commissioning me, do not hesitate to ask. I do not require payment right away, and I am relatively open to anything you might have. If you do have a NSFW request in mind, I ask that you message me over there instead. Just makes things a tad easier on me as far as organization goes.
I am no longer holding a "maximum" number of slots. I should be able to just give estimated wait times, and I will be going in order of first come, first serve, in terms of timely completion.

Queue Openings

I'm working on a commission for someone at my NSFW account currently, and with that, I finally have some room to put in more bodies into my commission queue. I just refurbished my commissions pricing page so everything there is as up-to-date as I can get. If you're interested in nabbing a slot, feel free to note me! I'm currently working on a more "official" Terms of Service page, but for now, please keep the following in mind:
1. commissioning me is a contract between me (the Artist) and you (the Commissioner)--a contract that you will pay me, and I will provide this service for you (art/illustration);
2. I reserve all rights to the work created--for you and for others--for reproduction, distribution, advertisement, and portfolio use, unless discussed privately with each individual Commissioner (you)
2a. I reserve the right to charge appropriately for the rights described in number (2) if a Commissioner is interested in purchasing some of these rights
3. I reserve the right to turn down a commission if I feel I cannot complete it to a satisfactory level, and refund the Commissioner (you) if necessary

I am officially moved in to Orlando! I now live with my girlfriend,, and our three other roommates, , , and . It has been very difficult leaving the Midwest to be quite honest--I very dearly miss all of my friends in Milwaukee, and my family in Chicago. But Orlando has proven to be a great opportunity for adventure, and for that, I'm grateful. It's also been wonderful to live with such amazing people.
I have finally fully set up my Nintendo I.D., so if you'd like to add me, I'm mechanic_coyote there. Just like the rest of the girls, I primarily play Splatoon, so if you're on, don't be afraid to join me.
I currently still do not have a job. I've been out hunting with Yodel left and right, picking up applications and dropping off resumés wherever I can, but so far, not so good. Luckily, the last paycheck from my old job should cover rent this month, but, yeah, I'll need to kick my ass into overdrive soon. Ideally, I'd love to make a career just doing freelance art for you guys here, but I don't think that's obtainable just yet. Just gotta keep moving!
I went to Megaplex a few weeks ago, and I met up with the amazing,

. I'm like 200% positive that I'm forgetting people so I apologize for that a;slkdfja;lfkja. Overall, it was an enjoyable time: we went Thursday night to see Edge's set played for Sammy, which absolutely led to an emotional night, but it was so nice. Sprinkle in your traditional amount of drama and you've got your classic-style furry convention. Not sure if I'll go again next year--I'd love to save up to get to RTX (which just reminded me, I also met 
, who is a red soldier, and who sucks by default).
Other that, I've been quite alright! Just movin' along.
I hope to be more frequent with posting art. It's been difficult finding things that I deem worthy to be uploaded these days. You can see sketches and WIP's on my twitter, mechanic-coyote. (There's a trend in usernames.)

Midwest FurFest 2014 Badge Commissions

Happy almost-October to all you dumb fuzzbutts. Personally I don't care much for fall/winter but living in the midwest doesn't help with that so I'm just gonna have to deal for one more year as I round up my last two semesters of college. And I guess it makes for better fursuiting weather. Damn you winter, you've won this round.
The reason for this journal is to advertise my Midwest FurFest badge commissions! Yaaaaas I decided to offer MFF-themed badges (their theme is winter/Christmas) that you can pick up at the convention! My buddy
blubblecat and I are going together again, and we're gonna make some serious effort to enter the dance competition with some brand-new fursuits. The problem is, neither of us really have the funds to order all our material yet, and I only work a part-time job seeing as how I'm taking 18 college credit hours this semester (yeah, I sorta hate myself for doing that).
So! For $20.00 USD, you can get a bust-up, shaded character badge. Want two badges at once? Your total is $35.00 USD! Want a badge in the MFF theme, but are unable to make it to the con? No problem! You've just got an additional mailing fee is all, depending on where you live.
Badges come at a maximum of 6" wide (15.24 cm) and 8" tall (20.32 cm). If you wanted smaller dimensions, do not hesitate to ask, I can work in whatever dimensions you need. Badges include artwork encased in a 5-mil laminated, die-cut seal, with a keyring.

My goal is to raise $300 USD by Halloween so I can order my fur and get cracking on this suit so that I can have it completed by MFF. I originally wanted it by Halloween, but I think Imma just suit as Roo around downtown Milwaukee for that. ;) All commission money from the MFF-specific commissions will be going towards the fund for my fursuit, and any commissions you may want outside of this (I take five slots at a time!) will go towards the hotel, food, and gas.
Thank you for reading! And if you can't commission, please help me out by telling your friends and spreading this journal! I'd really, really appreciate it, as MFF last year was my first year, and I had the most fun I'd had in a very long while. Funds are tight this year, but I'm hoping i can make stuff work out for it in the end.
