My dog scared me to death tonight. :/
Posted 13 years agoLong story short my dog had a seizure and now I'm terrified that if I turn my back for more than a minute, if I go to sleep or go leave the house or something she'll have another and I won't be there for it. I'm afraid of her having another because then we'll have to go to the vet and I can't afford vet bills. I can't afford all the tests they'll want to do. I can't afford it. But I can't emotionally afford to lose my baby either. I think I'll die if anything happens to her. I love her more than I do myself. I put her needs above my own even.

Life update!
Posted 13 years agoSo, I went to the Dr's today after getting labwork done a few weeks ago. Turns out I have hypothyroidism and vitamin D deficiency. Yay! So I get put on medication for that and we'll see how things go. I brought up my anxiety to the Dr and she referred me to a psychologist, where I'll be getting an eval and some help for coping skills etc for that. And I can get a real eval for ASD too, so that's a plus as well.
On the art side of things, I'm slowly working through a big art block I hit. It wasn't necessarily a talent block as it was a motivation block. I got depressed and such and wasn't motivated for anything for a while. I'm working on the sketch for Glenni, then I'll be back to finishing up everything I owe before I open up for new commissions. I'm dead out of money and borrowing from my mom to get my prescriptions, so I definitely need to take some commissions soon. Any ideas maybe?
I got my aquarium filter replaced, I got stuff situated. My friend is moving in next week, this will be fun.
As for SL? Me and Glenni are probably going to start up our shop again with cartoon kids clothing, among other things like yabu etc. So if you're on SL keep an eye out for that. c:

Posted 13 years agoI had some mixed drink at Applebees tonight since I turned 21 a few weeks ago.
I had a 'Wildberry Mango' with "Sauza Gold" in it. Whatever that is. I was hoping it'd taste more like mango, but whatever. x3 It wasn't too bad.
I had 2 of them since it was a 2 for 1 deal tonight, and by the 2nd one the only thing I felt was a bit of head rush I guess you can say. Idk how to describe it. That and I felt even more sensitive to the sounds around me which wasn't exactly pleasant.
But I had a decent time, friends did Karaoke and nailed it. What more to expect from a bunch of Chorus students? x3

Megaplex was a blast. I'm hoping to start expanding to more cons and events, like Elliots, Furloween and maybe FWA.
A few days before Thursday my suit from
tailbiter came in, Ashes! We finally bought him and he's now me and bob's. <3 I mostly wear the suit because it was made for a short chubby girl, which I am! He needs a little more touch ups for durability but I love it and can't wait to get a suit of Sila.
Onwards..
We got there thursday afternoon and since it was only going to be Bob and I until friday (or at least so was the original plans), we hung out in our friend Shngy's room and watched the con staff set up last minute things. We hung out for a few hours before heading down to The fursuit bowling event. My first one! We paid like $10 for 2 hours of bowling, and I barely bowled at all. We were next to
, the ever so awesome Orlando Fox. Who I thought was a crux at first! lol. I ended up not bowling like, at all, because I was too busy entertaining little kids in suit. There was this really sweet little girl, maybe a year or two old, who LOVED the suits. I ended up being around them most of the time, then I went to our makeshift "headless lounge" and cooled off with some weird barely-flavored lemon water. After the event ended and we all went back to our hotel, we kinda just hung around until Tailbiter called and said he and kili were comin' over and asked if we had any crash space left in the room. We figured it all out and I got an awesome plushie from TB for my birthday <3 i can never have too many plushies!! XD Me, TB and Bob all crashed on the bed and the night ended.
Friday I woke up relatively early and kept bugging Bob and them to get up so we could go. That ended up being a repeating theme all weekend. Note to self, next year get a room in the main con hotel so I can just walk down without them. :v
We went down, hung out for a while and bugged people (like
Skippyfoxcub) until preregistration opened, and I got my tag.
Honestly most of the con is a blur by now. It went by so fast, but I had so much fun at the same time. I was in suit a lot and over heated a lot, but I think I'm getting my tolerance up a bit too. I ripped the shoe out of my suit's footpaw while walking around trying to find my wallet (which I had left in Muira's room, oops), and so I had to fix that before the fursuit parade. Which I almost missed because we were trying to fix it after I was waiting around all day and all evening for someone who could lend me some glue. Ugh. But I caught the tail end of the parade and I made the fursuit games, which was hilariously fun. Try fitting your huge stompy paws through a hula hoop without using your hands. XD
I absolutely loved the last day of the con though. I got to know Orlando a little better, and she's so huggy! ;-; I swear I hugged her like 5 times before I finally left. And right before I had to leave, we got to make some kids really happy. <3
See, saturday night some lady and her kids wanted to see what all the suiters were about, but the lady couldn't even afford a dance pass for her and her kids. So the con staff decided to let them into the lobby and called a bunch of suiters around to go play with the kids. They loved it and so did I. Hearing the story at closing ceremonies made me almost cry. I was so glad to get the chance to play with them in suit, tickling them and just being overall silly.

Another highlight was when they were auctioning off Orlando's artwork for charity...And when the price got higher and higher she kept trying to run away. It took me and like 4 others to hold her down..and it was funny. x3 She even told me that 'You guys kill me.' which just made me laugh more. :>
At the end, we did a night time fursuit parade, and I got to line up with Kilion and
Amberyn77 as we marched down the hallway arm in arm. Until we had to walk single file before I fell over something...*blushes*
It was great, and I really can't wait to get a fursuit of Sila and run around as a hyper puppy trying to lick everyone and chase a ball around. x3
Since this turned out to be so long, I'll do another journal later with the 'other things', including upcoming commission slots, goals, etc!

Posted 13 years agoI'm curious...How long have you been actively drawing with the intentions of studying and getting better?
I've been at it since my 2nd year of middle school. I've been out of high school for 3 years now. That's at least, what...10 years total since I've been trying to get better at art? I can't figure out the stupid secret to it. Some people went from where I'm at, to whipping out a full pose "sketch" within minutes, in just 2 or 3 years.
I sit there all day just to draw a hand, and still can't get it right...
I've done it all. I've referenced photos. I've referenced real life. I've drawn it over a million times. I've gotten redlines, critique, suggestions, advice. I've used those mannequins. I looked in the mirror. You name it I've probably tried it.. But I still can't do it.
It's like my brain is broken. I don't know how people even /think/ of things like foreshortening, let alone manage to draw it and pull it off right. My attempts look forced. My poses are stiff and somewhat broken. My expressions are flat and emotionless.
I just dunno what to do. It makes me want to just quit drawing. but I have nothing else that makes me happy...but when the one thing that makes you happy also frustrates you and just pisses you right off, what are you supposed to do?
It seems like the people who want to help can't...but the people who can, won't. I can't directly ask for help, it's hard if not impossible for me to say 'I need help with ___ , can you help me?' because my anxiety won't let me. I try to hint at it but I get ignored. :/ I'll ask for help over fa or bf.me and get ignored...same for skype, IRC, yahoo...
How do you do it? If studying from life doesn't work, if all other things have failed...and i've been "practicing" for 10 years non stop... What do I do from here?

Posted 13 years agoFinally registered for megaplex! Yay. <3 I just went with regular admission, no sponsor. I figured I'd just save my money and spend it on food at walmart or something instead of snacks at the sponsor lounge.
That being said, I'm going to be taking commissions like nuts until then. As much money as I can gather will make the con that much easier for me. Lesser anxiety over money = better. Means I can enjoy the con more. x3

Posted 13 years agoKnocked another picture down, I got 1 more to shade and 3 more to lineart then color. :D I've got some ideas for sketches and such, so keep an eye out on some pre-posed sketch sales from me soon. <3

Posted 13 years agoWas hoping on getting a job, but nope. I'm forced to babysit my mom's friend's 6 year old everyday for just $15 a week. A WEEK. That's like $3 a day. :/ I can't afford anything I need with that little money sadly. But i can't just go and ask for more, because she's poor too and I'm lucky to get anything at all. I usually end up watching her for free.
You'll be seeing me spam for commissions coming soon...I desperately need money to afford megaplex, a new tablet, and things like that let alone food or help with bills...but I won't be able to do any of that with a paycheck of $15 a week. This is gunna suck big time. ;-;

Anyone know anything about wetsuits?
Posted 13 years agoI'm looking into wet suit tops and such for a few reasons but I dunno what I should look into.
I do not surf, skimboard, ski, scuba, or do anything that would require an expensive high quality suit.
However, I burn very easily even through sunscreen. I don't like bathing suits or regular shirts that get stuck to my body and are hard to wring out n such.
I'd like something that would be light enough to wear under regular clothing for the compression aspect, because compression is something that I crave the sensation of. But I'd also like to be able to use it for swimming too, beach or pool. When I'm at the beach I body surf sometimes but nothing serious.
Having said that, my price range is kinda low. I can only afford maybe $40 max or so. I don't care if it's used or has a small hole or what not, if it works it works.
I also plan to wear board shorts with it too.
Im also thinking long sleeved would be better because then it won't squeeze my chubby arms and pinch them or get uncomfortable n stuff. But i'd like to be able to wear it underneath other clothing too, so maybe short sleeved?
and what's a rash guard versus a swim shirt, etc?

Posted 13 years agoJust sayin. <3 First crop of our garden was a tomato, fit in the palm of my hand but tasted soo much better than the store bought ones. I totally am going to extend my garden over time and get more plants!

But I'm going to an adults with aspergers/autism meet this afternoon, so I'll have an excuse to be gone anyway. :3
Also been playing minecraft a bit again lately, trying to get the hang of redstone and pistons. New babyfur server will be opening up to whitelisting soon :3 Anyone from SL will know the name 'Misfit cubs'. x3
