The Right Magic Words
Posted 6 years ago"So how exactly did you do it?" asked Owen looking over at the small framed Panda.
"And reveal my secrets?" asked Cody shock, and he shook his head at the titan of a Lion "You never learn do you?"
"There were no mirrors," said Owen "No curtains, no smoke screens... The entire University was actually gone!"
"So it seemed," said Cody in a singsong snicker.
"Five people ran through," said Owen catching the Panda's arm, and holding him back "You can fake people running into thin air."
"I've faked a ballroom's worth of people before," said Cody shrugging, and taking his arm back "Come on. Let the feeling of awe, and magic last."
The Panda continued on the way back to his dormitory. Owen caught up to him, and stood in his way.
"Owen, please," said Cody folding his paws together "My performance was for the fundraiser for fixing the damages you, and your gang, did to the library. Consider my silence, and efforts as payment for letting me keep my secrets."
"I'm just worried," said Owen "That last thing I'd want is for anyone to use your powers for bad."
"And we're back on that," said Cody unamused, and his arms fell down to his sides "Stage magic runs strongly in my mother's side of the family. I was doing slight of hand since I could crawl. This is literally my whole life's, so far of course, worth of practice. I've put Hudini to shame countless times in a single night... Please, Owen. On behalf of my grandfather's honor, my whole mother's family even... Let this magician keep his secrets."
"..." said Owen nodding "... Just one more trick. I want to see if I can figure something out."
"..." said Cody thinking about it, and Owen gave him his baby doll eyes "Oh alright." Owen smiled, and Cody raised his paws. "Emit rof deb! Noij em, fi d'uoy ekil."
He snapped his fingers, and vanished in a puff of smoke. Owen wanted to look around for him, but something landed on his face. Holding it out, he saw it was Cody's underwear.
"..." thought Owen confused, and his eyes widened with mischievous sparks.
He hurried to Cody's dorm room, knowing the Panda's final words were "Join me, if you'd like."

Bigger Than Fish (Bad title I know)
Posted 7 years agoI'll probably never put the whole story up anywhere, so enjoy this little cutting from it.
The mountain path was wet beneath the Wolf's jikatabi. Odd for the summer, but a sign that the Suiko had went this way. It would need to find a large enough body of water soon, judging by the narrowing trail; or another body to drain in order to sustain itself. Soshitsu would not be unease by the fact he would be the yokai's only choice for a meal in such an isolated location. It was his sworn duty to see to the water goblin's death, and his village would have one less issue to plague their nights. He had a paw readily placed on the hilt of his chokutÅ. It may not have been the most effective weapon, but it was the one carried by his ancestors and used to slay many a yokai. He follows the trails, and notices the trickling water through a crack. Not even a Suiko could squeeze through something that small, but it meant that there was a body of water nearby after all. "It will be laying in wait," thought Soshitsu "Ancestors watch over me should I fail." It was a short climb down, but he found the small creek. It took the trail, but there would be no way to any other source of water other than down stream. It would not be long until he came face to face with the Suiko.
There was a body of water at the end, and no visible signs of it leading anywhere. The Suiko had to be hiding under the surface, and Soshitsu watched the mirror like water for any signs of movement. There were bubbles to his left, and he was ready to strike; only to see that two Koi fish had bumped into each other. It was at this moment that the Suiko leapt out of the water from behind the Wolf, grabbed him, and pulled him under the surface with it's demonic strength.

Trans-Specieal???
Posted 7 years agoOkay, this is a new one for me... I was not always a Rabbit. I first started as a Monkey, didn't feel all that right, and then I was a Husky... Better, but still missing something... When I was a Tanuki, I felt more myself; however, there was still something I didn't have... I became a Rabbit after that, and my Silas Warren Fursona suits me the best out of all my choices so far... I, occasionally, get the thoughts of being something else, and I realize it's most likely because I'm still trying to figure my Person Self out... But that's only a part of this little... thing... I suppose it's a bit of a reflection. So I have been fortunate enough to meet a few people in the Fandom, Furries, whatever you feel most comfortable being addressed as, and the lot of them understands a person trying to find what they feel free as... Most recently I met one who referred to me as "Trans-Specieal". I'm assuming that's the proper spelling. I doubt it's an actual thing though; I know people have swapped before, but this particular terminology... I can't really argue with him, but the tone he used made me upset... Condescending, and all that... I know better than to hate him, I don't really, it just struck something in me... Looking back at myself, and then going a little deeper I remembered something... I don't give a D*** about what people like that have to say... I wasn't hurt, but it helped me realize that maybe my swaps are more based on who I am and not necessarily Silas or any of my previous Fursonas... Speaking of which if any of you knew a Monkey who went by the name Alaric Thomas, or a Tanuki by the name of Sen Takanada (Technically Takanada Sen since it's proper). I am so sorry. I get carried away in those kinds of video games... Back to my topic... I don't feel bad about myself. Looking at who I am, and the general descriptions of (i.e. personality, behaviors, mental well being, etc.) the Fursonas out there... My cloth is already patchwork. (I am one gem with many, many facets. Whatever phrase gets the point across)... While I doubt I will change my current Fursona any time soon, don't be confused if I accidentally slip up and address myself as anything other than a Rabbit. No machine is made with a single part, and the same can be said for every last one of us... Thanks for bearing with me on this one. And again, sorry to the people who found out the hard way about my "Defensive Driving" Technique.
The Warrior Maiden Solace (An Excerpt)
Posted 7 years ago The lights of the arena lowers, the Lioness in the ring already perks up at the sound the music, and her opponent was introduced.
"And facing off against Lady Shavei," said the Fox referee raising a paw, and his voice to be heard over the half of the crowd clapping with the beat "The Warrior Maiden of Caricos... Solace!"
Lady Shavei was unfamiliar with the title, and was shocked to see fire. The Avian at the other entrance looked to be burning, and writhing around in pain; however, no one was screaming. Then she realized she was not seeing pain, but a form of ecstasy. The song spoke of fire dancing around a maiden in turn, and then of the bravery of such; to fly, and with one leap the Avian cleared all but a quarter of the way to the ring. Landing with the grace of a dancer, and stance of a warrior. The firebird then took to the air again with a rapid flip, and then landing in the ring. The fire left her form, revealing Solace to the Lioness fully. The phoenix had grey feathers with vibrant oranges, reds, and blues spanning from the center like a fire. Her outfit looked to be made of flame, wrapping around her body like the real one was. Her eyes were a burning hue of blue, and Lady Shavei knew this not be as easy of a match as she had hoped for.
"And now for why we're all here!" said the referee backing out of the ring, and the bell rang.

The Rust Garden (A setting in one of my stories)
Posted 7 years ago The wind flaking away at the rusty layer of the metal canopy. Pieces breaking into a finer dust as they hit the ground. Occasional rusted water running down, and trickling across derelict machinery. Rare chances of whatever is left in them seeping out, and mingling with the rusty soil. It has been this way for ages.
Now notice the curiosity protruding from the rust on the ground. It is thin, and wiry; looking much like a flower, a lotus. Surely someone just put it there, but wait...! There are more, and they have taken root! Look again at the metal column to your left. Wood? No, it can't be; however, there is no mistaking its bark. This metal tree, this Rusted Elm growing numerous in the area. A tight cluster not too far from the western border, where strange Ivy spans to and from; taking on the form of a grate here, and there. Patches of Dust Daisies grows out through water tanks; their petals grey and crinkled. Dark Roses of a dark shade of crimson with onyx spots grow with their thick, tangled branches amongst the abandoned mining equipment. Giving shelter to the Wispy Clover; so frail, and flimsy that a slight gust of wind could uproot them. Green and golden blooms lines what appears to be computer towers, monitors, and unwanted servers; the lines of their circuitry making the patterns on their petals.
Ah, but the true gem of the garden grows nearer the center. And fortunate are we to be here as the sun rises; such is the time they bloom again each and every day. The sunlight makes the rusty soil glitter with the shards, and slivers of glass. The bush's branches and stems, seemingly to lithe to hold the blooms, sway in the growing warmth. The blooms themselves point open to the sky, and their petals are a dark rainbow palette. They open, and the petals lighten; nearing perfect transparency as they approach full bloom. The petals fall down to cover the bulbs that connect them to their stems; forming their bell shape that gives this flower its name. The Glass Bells do not chime, but the wind whistles through them to make up for this.
