2015 has thrown some crazy curveballs and my time has been dedicated to staying afloat.
The beginning of September brought the finalization of moving into a new place. Sacrifices and financial adjustments were made, but we are happier overall.
Just as we were settling in, work became very tight for my partner and I. On top of this, serious family health issues and my car's blown transmission have caused more financial difficulty.
I'm asking for help as a friend and artist in the community of which I enjoy very much. I don't like asking for handouts, so I am hoping that people might be interested in commissioning art from me. These are continuing through November.

It's been AGES.
Posted 11 years agoJournals and submissions totaling over 2,000 entries. Dang guys, ya'll write and post a lot!
Dear FA,
I hope you all are well, what has anyone been up to?
I'll be posting things soon in this community if everything works out. My life has still been changing drastically over the past year. Right now I have a break from jobs and am trying desperately to start a new chapter in the book of life. For many years I have talked about getting going on my own small business. It would be a mix of different fandoms and offer various styles of art. I haven't yet figured everything out that would be appart of it, but I'm hoping to have small updates here and there depending on which community creations belong to.
Hope that you all are still with me as times evolve and I'll be back in the next few months with some fun posts.
As for fursuiting- I miss it. Last time Logan went out was at FC 2014. I have decided I will most likely retire that suit. She needs to be completely re-done and I have learned a few tricks over the summer. Fingers crossed, I'll have some new ideas for this coming year.
FC 2015 does not seem likely at this moment in time. Bills and life have finally caught up to my present funding. I'm thinking I might hit up Califur, and possibly stop by one of the local gatherings.
Again, hope you are all well.
Logan

Posted 11 years agoIt's coming up quick :)
Lots of things have changed in my life so far since I've been back. Might be switching jobs soon, tomorrow might be a final answer as to if I change. Have a few different events I want to attend along the year if I get to keep my weekends. We shall see how things move along.
Haven't had a whole lot of time to work on stuff Art wise; I've been more focused now on cosplay and work since I haven't done that route for a while and there are many projects to be finished.
Hope you all are well here on FA!
I'll be floating around for a while- if you want to say hi, feel free to bug me and I'll do my best to reply :)

2014 FC, can't wait. Taking a good chunk of time off to wander around Nor Cal. I haven't seen much of anyone this past year since I lived half of it overseas. Came back the beginning of September and took around 3 months to get back in the groove with a new full time job and everyday life.
I had expected (for yet another year) to have Outbreak done. The poor girl has been waiting for years, unfinished. With the past 2 1/2 years being gone from home and all my work while completing school, I haven't been able to do anything except small projects. On top of that, Outbreak has some fun additions that I don't have the technology for just yet. I've tried and returned so many things- I'm hoping to either make or find what I need soon. So, look for Logan- I've repaired her some for this new year.
This is a big new year's resolution: get new techniques down with some well known professionals and build up my portfolio.
Hopefully 2014 will have more then just sprinkles of updates.
Happy New Year and hope to see you guys at FC!

It's that time of year again
Posted 12 years agoWhere holidays collide like mad.
I started a journal a few weeks back, lost it with my poor computer freezing, and haven't taken the time to rewrite it. Figured I should sit down and update today as it's on my list of things to do.
Halloween is just around the corner- my favorite holiday, yet my enthusiasm has been lacking greatly. Logan hasn't been out of her case for over half a year and needs some serious repairs. FC's hotel problems have pushed me to an annoyed point, and the deadline for my progress on new stuff is overshadowed by mundane weeks of work.
What's better? No money, but have time? Or no time, but have money? I'd say that finding the happy medium is being able to do what you love while you work, then you don't feel as if you're wasting time and get nothing done- which has been my dilemma for a while now. Please don't feel I'm complaining! In no way am I- I am one of the lucky few that has a job and full time! I make enough money to pay the bills and have a few small dinner outings. I'm just trying to find a better happy medium.
That pretty much sums up these past few months. I have moved a few things into the place I am living in. We now have my large desk, a wall unit where storage was greatly needed, and an 8ft couch that looks like an old style victorian piece. Our living room went from sparse seating to to much! But hey, you can never be to comfortable.
I have readjusted to life back in the states. I still miss my Japanese home, but it's good to be around smiling faces I know. It's odd being able to see my parents more then once every three months, as it's been for the past 2 1/2 years. Things have changed while I've been away, some for the better, as I know I have grown a lot. Just have to keep moving forward from here.
Hopefully in the near future I'll have some new fun things to post, but it will probably be closer to the end of the year- if everything works out around the holidays.
Hope you all are well!

Posted 12 years agoHello FA,
It's been over 2 months since I last posted an update. I have been around occasionally, but severely lacking time has really taken a bite out of updates.
I'm happy to say that I only have one more day of finals- 3 more exams of the 12 that I had this semester. Yes. 12.
I'm also very depressed my time here is ending.. I love Japan, with all my heart.
But my soul also resides back at home with those I love.. I'm very torn with depression, I hate goodbyes. I knew this would go by fast, but I'm very annoyed that school ate most of my time.
I guess that just means every day that I'm here and have time, I appreciate it more and more.
I get to head to Okinawa on July 30th to see what that's like. I know it will be a good time.
After shifting through my 1000+ entries and almost the same amount of journals, I'm back :) I hope you all are well and I look forward to talking again soon!

Hi Everyone
Posted 12 years agoHope you all are doing well- I'm sorry I've seemed so dormant these past few Months!
Wow time has flown by; I've been so buys I haven't been able to keep up everywhere that I would like to. I don't have much time to do much else around the Japanese Language program that I am taking. It basically stuffs a whole years worth of Japanese classes into less then 3 1/2 months. It's insane. I have never had to work so hard in a class ever. I'm usually caught up in 5 hours of studying, if not more, everyday on this one subject. I do have two other classes on top of these 10 (yes, they break down the Japanese classes into 10, 2 each day which is 4 hours).
Anyway.. Spring has melted away into the oncoming summer. It was cold and rainy when I first got here, and the Cherry Blossoms just coming into full bloom. Those lasted about two weeks before melting away with the the changing winds to summer. The weather has somewhat warmed up from a cool 60 degrees to 80. I don't know how to convert celsius in my head just yet, so that's trying. The different measurements can be hard when speaking of distance too- people tell me meters instead of feet or miles. MATH. Yay.
I've been here already 2 1/2 months. I miss home greatly and find myself still getting a bit homesick, but I'm much better these days. I've settled in to the hustling Kyoto lifestyle, though much different from Tokyo- for the better. I'm glad to be in the old city- there is so many beautiful things to see. As much as I love Tokyo, the greenery around Kyoto makes me feel much better then being trapped in a giant city. I'm only a 30min ride from the heart of Osaka, so I get my anime fix there. There was a large festival called the Aoi Festival this past week; the next one is the Gion festival- if you don't know what they are, you should check them out! Neat stuff, cool outfits of old.
Continuing on through my time here- enjoying it, though it's very challenging. Get a work out every day with a 45 min traveling commute one way to school and living on the 5th floor of my place (our elevator does not work). Beefy leg muscles!

Hope to talk to you all soon, good luck in all you do!

Japan.
Posted 12 years agoHello Everyone,
For those who have noticed me gone missing, well... that's because I'm half way around the world now.
It's been just over a week since I made the venture out here. I stayed with family during that time, but, as of yesterday, I am on my own. I have family about an hour away, but I am staying in Kyoto and meeting many new faces. Don't know of anyone from my school, since there are only around 20 people. School is coming up fast and I have a lot more to learn about my environment.
I learned really fast how much I actually rely on English words in the Japanese marketplaces at home- I couldn't read almost anything when I went shopping for food today, and those items that had English was, of course, way to much.
My dorm feels a little like a tin can because of the loud metal door and the fact that I'm literally at the top of the stairwell where I am. It's pretty noisy here with the passing cars, but there is a neat temple across the street I'll have to check out.
Gonna be honest. I'm feeling REALLY homesick.
Hope you all are well, good luck in all you do.

How Much? I ask YOU. Raffle for FREE ART!
Posted 12 years ago3/1: Only a few days left!
2/22 EDIT: I will be giving just ONE drawing away :) I appreciate the interest! I plan to let this go for about another week and see from there! I am giving numbers to those who shared my journal and commented for the Raffle. THANK YOU!
~~~~~~
Hey everyone, I have a question and proposition.
I'm curious to know what people think about my art price wise. I don't have the ability to draw as much as I used to, and sketching is about as far as I get in one night. I do still do full on color commissions, but only open those when I have the ample time to do so.
My question relates to the sketch I had fun with last night and would enjoy practicing something like it. The character has a slightly more human like face and I'm interested in testing out various species. Small muzzles or beaks are interesting to me as well- I'm usually more 'realistic' toony- if that makes sense, and just want to play around.
On top of your comment, if you repost a link to my journal in a journal of your own and link it back to me, I'd love to give a free sketch similar to this one to a randomly picked person. If I get enough people to share the link, I'll possibly do two. I'm hoping to get at least 10 links before I pick a random number. I'll let you know before I close the journal and choose, but it won't be open for way to long.
Follow along here:
1. Check out this sketch for me:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/9972246/
2. Comment here on how much you'd pay for a piece like it.
If you're interested at a chance for free art like it:
3. Post a link to your journal and a reference of the character you're interested in having drawn.
That's about it!
Almost February
Posted 12 years agoHey guys,
Figured I would post a little something before January is over.
Went to FC and had a blast. Was sick on Sunday pretty bad and didn't get to suit or get my suit badge, but... can't really do much about that now.. Unfortunately the Fursuit badges need some work on their system. I went back 3 different times in 1 day, and 2 the other days, then Monday, of course they are closed. All my friends and roommates had a bit of a problem with them as well with multiple pictures needing to be taken since they weren't coming out. What a bummer. As much as I love having them, since having such a service is awesome, it was a real let down that my 5th year I couldn't get my pic.
It's still been nonstop since I got back, which is, for the most part, relatively normal. Getting things sorted out for Japan and my trip just before around the country, trying to get school sorted out, dealing with another cold or some kind of infection- can't win! It's been crazy to say the least...
Hopefully I may get some time to work on art again. I'm so infrequent these days that usually posts are rather quiet. Even had my birthday just at the end of FC and it's already been a few weeks. Time flies so fast.
Hope you all are doing better then I and things for 2013 are going smoothly.
2013
Posted 12 years agoHey everyone,
I haven't died yet o.o
I survived my crazy last quarter away at college, but not free of scars. It was crazy. I mean like... insane. Even got a white hair right in my bangs to prove it! But it was a good experience. My show went up without to much of a hitch, even though it was tons of after hours and weekends full of work. I've returned for the holidays and haven't stopped yet. Came home, got a tree, decorated the house, hosted a party, Christmas itself, family in from Japan, came down with a horrible cold, went to ALA, and am gearing up for FC.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and happy new year! I'm still trying to fight back for my voice and get some sleep against this cough. It's been a crappy few days and straining myself at a convention doesn't help. Hopefully my bruised chest will be better by the time I'm out suiting this year.
Love you all and can't wait to see you soon! Please see say hello if you see me! My birf-day is the 23rd! :3
Halloween
Posted 13 years agoFA.
I have been gone so long.
Hopefully that will change soon.
I've been swamped with school- this is my toughest quarter yet. I'm taking 22 units, designing costumes for a show that opens next week, and one of my classes is Japanese. I've had light hangs over the past two weekends 9-5 on both Sat and Sun, and have one more this weekend- in other words, I haven't have a day off since... October 14th.
My drawing and costumes have been put on hold- the only thing I've really done was a piece requested by Shoyo who's doing badges. Outbreak is done now, check it out: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/9129964/ all embroidered too.
I'm keeping up as best I can with peeps and even attended this month's frolic taking my buddy along for his birthday since he's now going to school up here too. I wish I didn't have to cut my working hours in half, then I might actually have more money to do things instead of just going everywhere for school.
Can't wait to have a few hours to myself again- I'm getting really tired of this stress headache.
Hope all of you are doing well. I'm bummed that I haven't even drawn anything awesome for my favorite holiday! Maybe I'll be able to do something spooky afterwords... we'll see. Going to dress up tomorrow for fun- hope my Japanese teacher finds it funny- but I really don't want to be picked to answer more questions in front of the class just because I'll have blue hair o.<
Good luck to you all!
Moving forward
Posted 13 years agoI needed to take that last journal down and move on.
That's what I am doing, moving on. Things are still fresh in my mind and I have slivers of hope, but it's time to move on.
I am a healthy person with a loving relationship and a full future. Nothing serious has happened to anyone around me or myself. I am happy for my blessings.
Now I must focus on the impending move I will be making back to school on Monday and the show I am preparing final drawings for. I will be SO HAPPY when December rolls around. I will be completed with required classes. Can you believe that? After jfwoiebjwo amount of years in COLLEGE?!
I can't fricken wait. To have time again? To make my own choices and a life? OMG. The excitement.
Anyway- I am a much happier person today and I hope all of you are doing well.
Best!
As if I didn't have enough stress...
Posted 13 years agoHello FA. I'm just going to write. Because I can.
I returned from Japan at the end of August. I had a fantastic time, met family, and loved it.
With a deadline looming over me, I returned to a chaotic situation of trying to fit months of work in a week. Yay.
Having had computer problems up the wazoo, I miss my deadline. Thank you to those who are working with me. It takes me up to a week to finish/fix everything. The last of it was sent last night/this morning at 5:00am.
During this hectic time, I somehow lost my wallet... I narrowed it down to two days where it may have gone missing. Because of my frantic time over my project, I kind of shrugged it off because I was damn sure i had left it in the house somewhere, even though i had tore up the place just a few days after I lost it.
I sat down, almost a week later, with the realization it really wasn't in the house. After searching for about 3 days straight, returning everywhere I went, and looking... I think I've lost it forever.
This sucks.
I had almost $300 in there to pay my credit cards with. It was money that I had received from people who requested items from Japan to pay me back. I never have ANY cash on me- rarely at least, so I was trying to be careful. I have some pants where the pockets aren't quite deep enough, so I try to remember to bring a bag to put my wallet in.
Everyone is now telling me to forget about it and move on. I'm pissed.. I just bought that wallet last year- I had my previous one for 7 years or more. It was a vampire knight wallet with Zero on it and I took forever to pick it out- I loved the damn thing.
Not only did it have my cash, but of course my id, credit cards, important other various things... you know- your important life items. It also had contact information from my family in Japan. Now that's hard to get for me and I'm really upset.
Everyone here at the house is tired of helping me look and mope about it; they won't say it, but I feel damn sorry for them having to put up with me. I've been in this downward spiral for over a week now, these past three days has been the worse. Everything can be replaced, but I'm pissed at myself for somehow LOOSING something that I specifically was TRYING to be careful with!
WTF Fate. W. T. F. If I lost it outside WHY AREN'T PEOPLE CONSIDERATE AND TURN IT IN?!
What a greedy world we live in...
Anyway... I don't want to bother people here. I don't know if anyone has any suggestions other then what I've heard already. I've already started to shut down accounts and order new items.. now I need a new wallet, have to deal with a trip to the bank and dmv... and move on I guess...
All this just before I head back up to school for 3 months and have the hardest quarter yet. I plan to leave Monday, September 24th for my long drive.
Peace.
Back from World Travels
Posted 13 years agoHey Fluffies,
I've been so quiet lately! Besides my usually business and time crunch for school coming up really fast here (already something due September 10, bah!) I've been gone for the past month!
I've been in Japan! I just got back a few days ago and have been trying to catch up on sleep in between cleaning house and getting this project going. Stayed for a little over three weeks and traveled around Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. Met some family for a week and many others I have never met before. Flew by soooo fast- I miss it already, just like the first time I went. I'll be heading back there in March for school, so we'll see how things go until then- I'm really nervous about it all, but I don't have time to think!
Heading back up north around the end of September and will be busy with designing a show for this November- YAY, and CRAP, all at the same time. Taking 22 units (or more), which includes a 5 unit language class- I suck and language. I've been told not to work this semester.... but.. I just went to Japan for 3 weeks.. and all... yeah.. I can see the moths flying out of my wallet- I'm lucky to have those!
Hope you all are doing well, and if not, are getting better. Catch yah later!
Logan
Flew by soooo fast- I miss it already, just like the first time I went. I'll be heading back there in March for school, so we'll see how things go until then- I'm really nervous about it all, but I don't have time to think!
Heading back up north around the end of September and will be busy with designing a show for this November- YAY, and CRAP, all at the same time. Taking 22 units (or more), which includes a 5 unit language class- I suck and language. I've been told not to work this semester.... but.. I just went to Japan for 3 weeks.. and all... yeah.. I can see the moths flying out of my wallet- I'm lucky to have those!
Hope you all are doing well, and if not, are getting better. Catch yah later!
Still Around
Posted 13 years agoHey peeps,
I'm still around, just busy.
I'm back from school for the summer, but haven't had a moment's rest. Hit up Anime Expo and just got done with Comic Con. Tried to finalize a Tsubasa cosplay, but unfortunately the commitment was a lot more time then I had. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it in time for another convention in the winter before I head out to Japan next year.
What a crazy few weeks it has been. I live currently with a few friends and my mate and have been helping finish the moving process. I set up shop in the living room for cosplay, but seeing as conventions are over and other endeavors require my time, it's time to change this fortress into a living space again! My barricade of boxes and suitcases will soon be depleted for a smaller, more suitable drawing area. I can't wait to sit down and actually complete artwork again since it's been so long.
I think i either caught con crud or the mixture of air conditioning and odd weather has had it's toll on me. I'll be resting for the next few days from this harsh cough and pain in my chest. I don't want to give it to anyone in the house!
Hope all of you are doing well, and best wishes!
