FWA Report!
General | Posted 12 years agoI know its a little late for it, but I figure being late is better then nothing. So FWA was a lot of fun for me. I heard a lot of people did not like the con, the hotel was a pain, blah blah. For me though, I had a complete blast. I got to see a lot of friends on the east coast that iv missed for years now,
omnibahumut,
KovaWolf and
LittleWolf were all great to see again, as well as a few others from my old stomping grounds of philly.
I started out thursday morning, and immediately found
Tigon and
bloodwiser at the airport, on our flight to Atlanta. Despite all of us sleeping the entire way, it was good to have some travel buddies.
ayulf picked me up from the airport in Atlanta, many peaches were consumed, and parking spots hard fought for at the hotel. Finally found my way to our suite on the top floor, met up with
tigerpawatl,
frisbee,
skroy,
Pip,
JelliThePanda,
neokai and
LupoZeWolf
We had a lot of people, but the suite was massive, so it did not matter. My first order of business was to acquire some beer, Yuengling, and
LittleWolf was more then happy to oblige, as we bought a six pack and finished it between us within the hour, before linking up with Omni:, and Kova for General Tso's dinner next to the hotel. The rest of the night was more drinking, and of course, fursuiting.
Friday morning I woke up and headed down to the gym to try and ward off being fat. My regular routine was pretty difficult, something about being on vacation and drinking beer makes working out harder, who knew. I picked up a pre order badge, got some lunch at the lounge with tigerpaw, and made some rounds around the con to say hello to people. I was able to convince tigerpaw to put on his suit, and we started romping around the con dispensing cuteness to everyone. I had a ball, and im glad I could drag tigerpaw to come out with me for some fun, and pictures. That night we ate at the meat faucet, which was super tasty, and then headed back to the hotel for some drinking and dancing with
matix,
RuishiroKitsune and
esau.
Saturday started pretty slow. I got up with tigerpaw, went to get some food from the lounge, then tagged along as he buzzed around the con. We split of around midafternoon, and I got in suit with Rushiro and Esau for a few hours. Once I got out, I met up again with Omni and Kova to get some beers at Hooters (Yuengling again, murrrrr), and then dinner with Tibolf and Fuzzyzf. We got harassed by a local to go buy beer at a "special" corner store. I realised I liked all my posessions and organs, and kindly ignored his advice. We bought more beer (Yuengling, of course), and headed back to the hotel for another night of drinking and dancing.
Sunday started with another one of my favorites, Dunkin Donuts, as I wandered around the con for a few hours in the morning. I linked up with Tigerpaw again, and bought some photos of our suits together from the Furshoot booth, as a thank you for being so awesome over the weekend. We parted ways as he prepared for opening ceremonies, and I jumped in suit again. I met up with two awesome people at that point,
ponchoyote and
Takoda_Hotah. The three of us had a blast, literally running around the con and entertaining people. The two of them were just a ball of energy, and it was great to let loose and burn off some energy with them for a few hours. We got out of suit, got cleaned up, and headed for dinner at the hard rock. After I got pulled into the irish bar next door for some final drinks with Littlewolf, Omni, and Kova, and then got back in suit with Trace and Takoda (in whisky this time) for a few more hours of late night fursuiting and partying. Sunday was an awesome day, I had a complete blast, im so glad I got to meet some new awesome people that day and let loose!
Monday was hectic. We scrambled to get out of the room, and store our stuff at a friends place until our afternoon flight. I tried to hit the aquarium with a group of friends, but didnt have time due to our flight, even though it got delayed. I showed up at the airport again with Tigon and bloodwiser, to get caught in an epic hailstorm at the airport, which canceled our flight until the next day. Graciously, Tigerpaw let us crash at his house for the night, so we had another fun night with:
Tigerpaw,
uro, neokai,, LupoZeWolf, and a few others. Although it sucked to miss the flight, it was great to have one more night with friends. The next day we got on our flight, and got home safely, albeit very tired from the extra day of travel.
All in all I had a complete blast at FWA this year. I did not really hang out with anyone from the west coast during the con, but it was really great to see some east coast people again that I hardly ever see. I would really consider coming back next year, and I look foreword to seeing a bunch of familiar faces again, either at FWA, or other cons.
Thanks to everyone who made the con so great and special, and a very special thanks to Tigerpaw for showing me a great time in Atlanta!

FC Report
General | Posted 13 years agoIts been a year since my last journal, so its time for an update, and lets start with FC!
Lets just say FC earned back some credit this year with me. I still don't like the convention center, and I still miss the Fairmont, but they did well to make the most of their new space this year.
I arrived Thursday morning, and got the traditional pre con meal of In-N-Out burger with
tibolf and
fuzzyzf and then headed to the hotel to work for the rest of the day. It was pretty tough being stuck in the room for a few hours knowing I had a new suit waiting at the front desk, and a party going on without me. After work, I did one final workout before the con, and then went to get my new suit from the front desk.
When I opened the box, I was floored.
fursuiting did an absolutely amazing job rebuilding silent. The head came out exactly how I wanted it, the expression, vision, ventilation, all blew me away. Silent is back, and is exactly what I wanted him to turn out like. Despite some fitment issues between lacy's stuff and the body I made, it turned out perfect.
I did not suit in him until much later that night, but still had fun bouncing around to the few people still awake at the time. Overall I suited around in silent for hours over the course of the weekend. The new expression was a lot of fun to work with, letting me be a little growly, a little flirty, and a little cute. Iv still got some work to do to bring more character out of him, but id say I did not bad for having no chance to practice with the new personality pre con. He also seemed very well received, everyone I interacted with was very receptive, and I got a lot of people to join in the shenanigans. This weekend surely helped re ignite my love for fursuiting.
I also got a chance to meet and hang out with a lot of new people. I quickly tracked down
KDVC and got a chance to hang out a lot on Saturday and Sunday. We had a lot of fun, and had a great time suiting around with him. I also got a chance to meet
Enlightener and
AeroShepherd who has the cutest shepherd suit and I just love his growly expression! I will have to hunt both of them down at my next con and hang out again.
Moonblazewolf and
ferricfox were also great new friends, who I look foreword to seeing again soon. And finally, got to hang out with
tigerpawatl for awhile, and even though I missed the chance to suit with him, we still had a blast hanging out.
So all in all, I had a great time. I cant wait to see everyone I met again in the future, and anyone I missed, or met, please don't be afraid to say hi! Despite the growly expression, I'am a nice wolf, and I wont bite! Thanks everyone who made FC this year awesome and very memorable!

Retiring
General | Posted 14 years agoThe thought has crossed my mind a lot lately about this. As Silent approaches his three year birthday, the thought has crossed my mind a few times about retiring the suit. I am always met with a wave of mixed emotions when the thought crosses my mind. I have had countless hours of fun running around as the part time cutie, part time jerk that I have built silent into. I remember when I first wore the entire suit, and the first con I took it to.technically it was MFF 08, but after a quick rebuild and a new head, the official debut of silent as he stands today was FWA 2009.
He is still in remarkably good condition for his age, the suit is still soft and free of tears or rips. The fur is starting to become distressed, and he has lost his softness and luster he once had. The fur on the head has faded, and the feet and tail are both coming apart at the seams. The vision on the head has degraded, and the ventilation is now difficult, making wearing him in less then ideal conditions difficult, and short winded.
There are a lot of construction faults that have nagged at me as well. Imperfections here and there that I have just been itching to correct. With that said, I am going to start retiring the current version of Silent. He is not going away completely, but he is going to be coming out much less in the future. Special events mainly.
However, his retirement will make way for a new version of silent, that will be arriving within the next year. I am wrestling with different ideas, a few different suit builders for the head, and investigating new construction techniques.
Keep an eye out for a new version of silent, for as his current version will slowly move towards retirement, he makes way for a new version coming soon. I know im excited to see him.

Furprint is up and running!
General | Posted 18 years agoAttention Artists!
Furprint, the furry based printing and media development company has officially opened for business!
What we do is offer artists the ability to sell their art at any time of the year, with very little effort on their part. Once the website is up and running, all you have to do is upload a print quality file to our servers, and we will do prints of your work, on demand or in batches, and send them off to customers all over the world!
But wait, thats not all we do!
Furprint will also be setting up shop at many furry cons across the country. We will be premiering at AC07.
Did you run out of prints of a hot selling piece of art this year? Well before you completely run out, come over to the Furprint table. We can print you up any number of extra prints you can take back and sell, or we can handle it on demand. After we have the file on the furprint computer, any customer who wants that print can walk over to our table, and have it printed out on demand, for whatever price you wish to charge! If you want to plan ahead, bring high quality files, or originals with you in case you need extras!
Or, what if you don't want to invest in printing something you don't think will sell? Dont take the risk! Display the art at your table, and bring us a copy, or a digital file. If someone wants to buy it, we can print it out instantly, just send them to our table. Its a no risk win, win situation.
Have a piece of art that is being held back by its standard 8.5x11 size? Bring it to us! We have a large format photo printer capable of printing 13x19 photos. Its your masterpiece, let it shine in grand, large format!
Have you ever been angry after a con that you will never be able to save, or share any of the commissions you just finished? Well not anymore! Before you hand off the commission to the customer, stop by our table, and we will be happy to scan it in, and save it for you. Just stop by at the end of the con, and we will give you all your files!
Speaking of commissions, are you tired of hauling extra gear with you to AC? Furprint will be offering additional items and services for sale during the con. We will have lamination available, as well as assorted print protectors, folders, and mailing tubes to protect your art.
We will also have novelty items available for all con goers, so be sure to stop by and see whats happening at the Fur print table!
Feel free to contact me with any ideas, and be sure to visit the website, it will be up and running in just a few weeks!
