there will be a few more furry comic pages from me
Posted 8 years agoI will finish off the first few pages of "Uninvited" as I meant to do that anyway. I have pg 1-5 scanned and ready to color... I just lost the flashdrive for a while (found it again). (and by lost for a while I mean like... for more than a year. Flashdrives are too easy to lose!)
IF (and this is a big if) I can find the folder where I had more drawn pages than even that, then I'll finsih those off and color them too. I.... really don't know where that folder is though.
EDIT 1/2/2017: FOUND THE FOLDER!
But before I do any of that I am going to finish off the story arc of my non-furry human/vampire/dragon comic that I was working on (2 pages... plan on getting them done this weekend, THEN I'll see what I can do about the furry stuff).

sorry for the delay
Posted 10 years agoDidn't forget about those comic pages, I have them scanned! I haven't had time to color and work on them because of long holiday work hours. After X-mas I'll get to work on them.
LOST AND FOUND
Posted 11 years agoHey it's been a long time. You may not remember me or my art that well but years back I did a comic called Volcano (which one day I'll reupload in full to VCL).
Shortly after finishing it I started working on a sequel. Got a prologue and a few other pages done and then lost the lineart. For nearly a decade. I looked and looked with no luck.
I've since moved to a different place and moved away from the furry fandom. But I've been going back to my parents' house to clean my closet little by little (as they left it exactly as it was when I moved out) and way at the bottom in the back in a backpack between the pages of an old newspaper.... was the yellow file folder full of drawings!
So I'll scan those someday soon, work on coloring them too and upload them them as soon as they're done. The prologue pages at the very least.
Better very late than never?

slow as heck e-mail
Posted 11 years agoIf you need to contact me, don't use my lycos e-mail address (silvanoir @ lycos.com) because I just got a bunch of messages from months ago. Just got them. From the Summer. Today. In September. Ugh. I know that company has been dying for a while, but really? REALLY? *sigh*
So if you need to note me, note me here (don't log in that often... like once a month), on deviantart (where I check my messages everyday), or my yahoo e-mail adress (which I'll give to you if you need it).

fox in socks
Posted 11 years agoI found an online radio station that plays nothing but music from Nintendo games! http://www.radionintendo.com/ (Biggest mistake of my life was selling off my Super Nintendo and all of its game in the 90s. Really really wish I hadn't done that).
Several days ago my dog cut open her back paw really badly on broken glass hidden in leaves while out on a walk. I wish I could find who keeps breaking liquor bottles on or around sidewalks and strangle them and make them pay for the vet bill (400 dollars!). She's doing better though and will be getting her stitches out this week. In the house I put a sock on over her bandage to keep her from picking it. Because she looks a little like a fox, I call her the fox in socks. On walks I put on a boot that the vet gave me.... which makes a very loud CLOP CLOP noise... it's funny but then I feel bad for laughing. I bought some rain boots from petsmart in hopes of protecting all her feet, but she flings those right off with a shake of each leg.

Posted 11 years agoSQUIRREL!
Posted 12 years agoI went to the Cape (Cape Cod) for the weekend. And other than going to the beach and reading a big stack of Wonder Woman comics, I didn't do much.
BUT
I did see a melanistic animal in the wild for the first time. It was an all black squirrel. I've seen albino animals in zoos, but never a melanistic one. Couldn't snap a photo fast enough though (it was too far away anyway)
looked like this fella (please work link) http://coloredwall.com/img/animals/.....-animals11.jpg

UNICO
Posted 12 years agoNo one told me Unico was finally officially on DVD!!!! I was looking for it for over a decade. It was the first anime I ever saw before I ever knew what anime was.
I was able to get the first one (Adventures of Unico) but the second one (Unico in the Islands of Magic) was out of stock :(
There's a full color manga too! Some people seem to have ordered it and already have it, but it's still a pre-order on sites/stores that I've seen and will be out the end of this month (definitely getting that too as a birthday present to myself)
Now they just need to make more movies about the adorable baby unicorn ;)

AND DON'T CALL ME SHERYL
Posted 12 years agoI got a call tonight from an unfamiliar number. He kept asking for Sheryl but didn't give his name. I told him I'm not Sheryl and hung up
He called 2 minutes later. "SHERYL, DO YOU HAVE A CROCK POT?!" NO. MY NAME IS CHARLENE. "Sheryl?" NO. "CAN I BORROW YOUR CROCKPOT?" CHARLENE McADAMS. NOT SHERYL. I DON'T HAVE A CROCKPOT I hang up again, thinking it's cleared up.
He calls a third time and I set my cell phone to permanently ignore him without talking to him.
I go online to look up the number. Joe Allen from Weymouth. Well I don't know any Joe's from Weymouth. I don't know anyone from Weymouth period (at least not that I'm aware of).
And no, you cannot use my non-existent crock pot.

SNOWMAGEDDON
Posted 12 years agoMe before the storm: eh, they're probably exaggerating again, it won't be that bad....
Me now: HOLY COW THEY WEREN'T KIDDING
There are already snow drifts taller than me around my place and the snow is still falling. *whimper*
Hope I can get out of the house and the subway is running on Sunday to see you, Alex, otherwise...

Comic commission question?
Posted 13 years agoThere are people who want to commission me to draw comics for them. How much do you think I should charge per page? How much for lineart? How much for something colored?
My simple pencil sketches of one character, no background, no shading — just one character standing in white space — is $10.
My digital and actual paintings start at $60 and go up based on how complicated the picture is.
Comic pages take me longer than anything else… but I have no idea what to charge for them
Dog Returns!
Posted 13 years agogood news- a man found my dog and returned her! at one in the morning, but that was OK. He lives one street over from my parents and has a female puppy too and I guess she was going over to play with it. He rang the doorbell at my parents house with the dog in his hands. My mom will be paying him a reward. When I got back from work I took her over to my house where she'll be staying for good... there's double doors, usually locked, so much harder for her to escape. I'll post pictures in a second.
painting something
Posted 13 years agoHey, I'm not dead. Just not active in this fandom anymore.
I'm actually painting something (a comic) that could be uploaded to this site. With a rat as a main character and everything told from his point of view... not furry, rat in a rat size and rat shape and unable to speak, but with a little bit of human personality.

reuploading my comic "Volcano"
Posted 14 years agoOh the days when I had the free time to put tons of effort into furry comics! back in 2006-2008...
anyway, reuploading the 95 pages of Volcano to VCL, slowly.... it will be all here eventually: http://us.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/Si.....-Noir/Volcano/
Have patience for it to show up. I'm busy with work and other things.

how OFFENSIVE
Posted 14 years agoYou know, furries are joked about as being overdramatic but tumblr is really a 100 times worse.
There are tons of people there who get offended by EVERYTHING. Every little word. Except for cats and kittens. I made a joke post with a doodle of a cat face saying "I'm offended by cats" with the caption "The internet is offended by everything but cats, so I think I'll start being offended by cats so the internet can officially be offended by EVERYTHING"
And immediately I got someone saying I was an enemy of social justice, a racist/sexist who tries to derail arguments. YEAH OK, taking things too personally, much? Proving my point that people really are too oversensitive and need to argue everything on the internet and project things onto images and words that aren't there just so they can feel self-righteous.

cant go to Furfright afterall
Posted 14 years agoSorry. I really really hate flaking out on people
But I can't go. Not this year :(
A combination of money and transportation issues and other obligations. I don't want to discuss it.
Alex, you'll have to find another ride back from the Con.
Again, sorry.
I'll see people at the Boston Sunday lunches. That's all I can do.

Furfright
Posted 14 years agoI'm going to go to this Furfright (2011).
I didn't really go far for vacation this year, so it will give me something to do. Mostly I'm going for the social aspect... to see and hang out with people I've known :) I won't be dressing up at all (maybe I'll wear a tail, that's it).
I don't have any prints or anything special to sell, but if you want 10 dollar sketches, I'll be completely open for those.
I'm not really into the furry fandom specifically anymore (I'm more drawing creatures and were-things integrated into broader fantasy worlds now), so this will be the last one, most likely.
I just have to figure out a better way to drive there ^_^; and send in my pre-registration

bounce bounce bounce
Posted 14 years agoI can now list CRABS to the long list of things my 13-year-old dog is afraid of.
She was perfectly happy with my here on my seaside vacation. She's half border-collie and half-whippet, so not a swimming dog. She liked to wade in the ocean and on hot days, sit in it.
Until yesterday when she saw something new and strange under her foot. A crab. She bounched like a superpowered pogo stick out of the water SO FAST and into a little rowboat that was on the shore and curled up in a ball and started shaking.
She won't go near the water now. Scary things are in it!

Posted 14 years agoHaven't logged in for four months and haven't drawn anything furry in much longer... sorry, you kind of lost me to the world of comics with mostly human beings in them (both in drawing my own and of the fandoms for published comics).
But.... I now don't have anyone to hang out with. My comic reading friends are all states or even countries away and the last of my local friends moved out of town a few months ago. They only group I could still hang out with in person is the furry group!
So.... torn.

RobotCheetahs and SummerWars
Posted 14 years agoWatched the movie "Summer Wars" recently. Though I haven't been into anime for a little while now (I've moved on to obsessing over comic books) this one was highly recommended. Reviews said it reminded people of Digimon but actually, it reminded me more of a Miyazaki movie outside the digital world with its focus on family.
Anyway, though I haven't been into furry much either... it confirmed I'll always have a scarp of furriness in me because I thought King Kazma - THE ANTHRO RABBIT fighter - was the coolest thing in the movie.
Boston Dynamics, a robot-making company here in MA, is going to build robot cheetahs that will be able to run almost as fast as the real thing. ROBOT CHEETAHS. For the military. Are we going to fight all our wars with robot animals? Is "Zoids" coming true? I hope so.

666
Posted 14 years agoSo I don't log in here for well over a month, come back and see that I have 666 unread submissions in my watch folder.
666.
Is that some kind of sign?
haha... I'll never catch up.
So I'll just say to everybody I'm watching: You have nice art that I like a vast majority of the time but don't have the time to always check up on it and comment.
