Cosplays
Posted 8 years agoSo the past few days have been very hectic for me. I've managed to finish some of the sketches for the Summer commissions and I want to get all those done before I start any coloring, but it's slowed down due to my other hobby you all know: Cosplay. Where I live it's very difficult to get good photos taken off the con floor, so I've been making alterations for an upcoming photoshoot. Anyone who's cosplayed knows things get broken or fall off during the con and need to be replaced or fixed and that's where I am right now.
That said, I just wanted to put something out there I've been meaning to say for awhile: If any of my commissioners would like a link to my cosplay page, I'm more than happy to give it to you. It's a matter of principle, I believe that people deserve to know where their money is going. Obviously I've said that my commission money goes to my sewing degree and these costumes, and I'm grateful to everyone who's helped with that. It isn't like Patreon where you know your money is going towards more artwork, so the faith you guys have in me still gets me and I'm always thankful. I'm not very talkative or active here and I like to keep my FA separate from where I am on other sites, but since you guys paid for these cosplays I think it's only right you get to see where your money is going towards in the end besides the final pictures.

SUMMER COMMISSIONS
Posted 8 years agoLike all my ideas, I figured sure, I'll open commissions again for the Summer. Now that classes are out, I'll have more time to devote to art and other hobbies. For now I'm limiting it to just a few slots, but if I get them done quickly I might open more. We'll see. Prices and rules will be the same as my previous commissions, however I'll only be doing OC's. I feel like there are plenty of fanart pieces out there without me adding more to the mix. But just feel free to send me a note and we can discuss everything!

EDIT: Well shit that was fast
EDIT 2: Also guys be sure to tell me the name you're sending the money over as, that way I don't get anyone's payments mixed upin case anything goes wrong.

A HUGE thanks! And maybe some Summer commissions?
Posted 8 years agoI just made an art post about this, but I just wanted to put this for everyone to see. Since I just finished the last of my commissions from Fall (told you guys I was slow with commissions) and I thought I should give everyone here a huge thank you, both my watchers and especially my patient and wonderful commissioners. Last Fall was one of the hardest times in my life, it was the first time I'd ever been on my own and, getting caught up in the excitement of my degree program, spent all of my money like an idiot. It was my own fault and I've learned since then, but without you all I would have been incredibly hard-off until I found my current job.
Thanks to you guys I was able to, in no order: Afford my class trip to AmericasMart and see a real wholesaler where companies and designers meet to decide which products they put in their stores, finish a Baro't Saya for my introductory sewing class just like my grandmother in the Philippines would make, finish my last cosplay and actually win my first competition, afford to finish all the hands-on projects a Fashion degree requires basically, and I could afford to make and enter a design in our department's charity fashion show.
I know when artists make a Patreon or open commissions, you guys generally expect the money will go so they can create more posts. But that you guys knew this was going to my real passion, one I keep separate from here and hardly talk about, means the world to me. I'm going to keep pursuing this and I'm going to always remember your support. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You everyone.
With that said, I was wondering what anyone would think about me opening Summer commissions? I've learned from this and I know better than to overwhelm myself, so it'd only be about 3-5 slots, but would anyone be interested? The prices would be the same as last time and the same rules would apply, I just think it'd be nice to do since now I have more free time without school.

Commission updates and thoughts
Posted 9 years agoI feel like I owe everyone these with how slow I am, but I just want to thank everyone again for putting up with my sluggish pace. Obviously progress slowed down a lot in December, ironically given I was on break, but I had a quick seasonal job and was working on getting classes organized and everything put together. Now that classes are back and I'm in something of a semi-stable schedule I'm making a lot of progress as you can see. I've posted two paintings in under a week and I'll have the next done in the coming days. Which is great because I think the big reason people didn't want to commission me was due to how slow I am, but I'm getting in the groove of it and really trying to make this a thing, but I want to be better.
So that you guys know I'm not screwing you over, I'm going to add a list of current commissions and progress here on my page.
And with that I just want to say that since this is kind of my only income right now, I'm still taking these. They're unlimited, the more I get the faster I'll hopefully be because it puts pressure on me. I'm also considering doing small $15 head-shots if that's something people may be interested in, similar to my profile ID. But like I said, I won't turn anyone away unless they're asking me to draw something outside my skill-set.
In the words of Scarlett O'Hara, 'as God is my witness, they're not going to lick me. I'm going to get through this'.

Life updates
Posted 9 years agoWith those last couple commissions posted I just wanted to let my watchers know I'm still taking commissions indefinitely due to my financial situation. I've made as much as I had hoped in the first journal and I was quickly overwhelmed (in the best way) but shit hits the fan and I'm almost as desperate as I was at rock bottom. I owe my school another $200 dollars due to parking tickets and other expenses I apparently forgot to pay. I'm contesting but it's not going to go anywhere, I know, and you, my commissioners, have already been a godsend. I'm not trying to guilt anyone into buying anything, but if you did I'd be incredibly grateful.
And to the commissioners still waiting, thank you so much for your patience. I'm working hard to get your pictures done, but school is still a thing and Finals are next week. Once those are done I'll have much more time to finish everyone's pictures, but until then thank you for waiting and don't feel bad about asking for updates? Everyone's has base colrs/basic shading right now but of course there's things to be fixed, so I am making progress. Just please bear with me.

Oh wow, I'm finally opening Commissions
Posted 9 years agoTitle says it all, I need to open up commissions, badly. A fashion degree is great until all your money goes to $10 yards of fabric and zippers and thread and I'm in desperate need of some cash. Right now there's no limit on spots, maybe if I get enough people interested and reach the amount of money I'd like (which I don't think is gonna happen) but. Yeah.
Basically I'll draw any character, any species, animals only though. I'm open to all body types and any gender, but these are just going to be portraits. I'm open to draw nudity but no blatant fetish material, no cum or straps or toys or anything like that. You guys know I'm vanilla as fuck so I'm not super comfortable drawing that stuff. If you're interested, please send me a reference sheet or a detailed description of the character/characters you'd like me to draw. Once the payment has gone through, I'll draw up a preliminary sketch and show it to you for your approval. If there's something wrong or you'd like tweaked, let me know so I can fix it before I add color. Once the color is added I'll give you a link to the full-size image. I reserve the right to post any pictures here on my FA, but on no other websites without the original commissioner's permission.
And now that the technical mumbo-jumbo is out of the way, here are the prices I'm asking:
$30 - Waist-up Bust. Examples:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13035678/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17532098/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12630425/
$50 - $65 - Full Body portraits. Examples:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16366146/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19112836/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19106967/
$60-$85 - Multiple characters, full body or waist up. Examples:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17022837/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19839369/
For now all of these sketches will only have simple backgrounds, but if you're willing to pay more for extra details like that or a complex bg, I'm open to discussing a price. But my notes are open for anyone interested, just send me a message, but I'd prefer not to discuss price and such here in the comments. Thanks you guys.

Zootopia (spoilers)
Posted 9 years agoI won't lie, it got me really emotional and I cried like three times. The morals hit hard, and I could relate to both characters. Judy grew up in a small town but persevered to get where she wanted, and Nick grew up with a lot of labels attached the way I do being gay and mixed. Like you have no idea how many times a manager has told me someone thought I was a cartel or jihad (I'm actually Filipino). But the message wasn't too in your face, so it didn't feel forced and worked beautifully with the story. I definitely want to see it again, if only to see my burly police chief husband again.
Progress
Posted 10 years agoI think I've posted more drawings in three months than I had my first year here, so yeah, that's a plus. Appreciate the little achievements.

Hi there!
Posted 12 years agoWell, I'm Silver Stag, but I'd prefer you just call me Alex. I've been lurking on FA for about four or five years, and I finally decided to make an account here. I'm actually really excited to get to know everyone.
I'm just gonna write this out as I think it up. Okay, the big thing people might dislike is I'm a Brony. Not an obsessive fan though, I just like the show. Uhh, I'm a huge art nerd. I mean if you get me started I could go on for hours about Renoir and Degas' colors, or Klimt's style, or the flow of Van Gogh, or Bierstadt's ability to replicate glowing light-See what I mean? I make a lot of typos, so sorry in advance if any of my comments don't make sense. I've seen a lot of movies, but I mostly love Ghibli, Disney, and other movies like that. I'm not a big fan of games, but when I see one that catches my interest, I'll watch a playthrough on YT rather than actually buying a new system and the game itself. My favorite game has to be Journey, but I also like Limbo, the Zelda series, Breath of Fire, and a few others. I also love music, mostly stuff with a nice beat, but there are songs from just about every genre I like. I mostly listen to Vocaloid, Bollywood songs, Celtic Woman and other folk-ish songs, but my favorite singer of all time is Kokia. I'm sure there's more, but I can feel my hands starting to cramp up.
Also, just a warning though, I'm a bit of an ass if you annoy me enough. Usually it's because people ask me questions about free art and can't take "no" for an answer, so I'm just gonna put this here:
Do you do requests: No. I won't dedicate hours of work on MSPaint without getting anything in return.
Do you accept trades: Again, no. But this is because I'm actually busy with other stuff, like chores and other projects. I draw a lot of stuff in a completely different style on a separate DA account that I will not link to. I just draw furry stuff for fun and some practice, and I just don't have the time to do trades at the moment.
Do you take commissions: No, because of the same reasons listed above.
Will you tell me your other account: No, because I want to keep my fetish art and my serious artworks separate. I'll only share the link with close friends I trust. And no, just asking to be my friend isn't good enough to be considered trustworthy. You actually have to put in some effort.
Do you draw any NSFW material: Assuming you consider fetish artworks "SFW", then no. I won't draw any nudity or blatant sexuality. I think exposed buttocks would be the closest to NSFW I'll ever get.
Do you do sexy RP's: Not often.
Okay, now that that's out of the way and my arm is well and truly sore from typing this out, I hope you guys like my art, and thanks for any faves and comments I might get! :D
