Moving to a new account!!
Posted 5 years agoHey everyone!
I mentioned this in a previous entry, but I figured I would create a journal dedicated soley to this topic...
I am changing FA accounts!
If you want to continue following my work, please watch me over at
Scalebutt
There isn't really anything there yet, but there will be soon.
Remember that YCH that I've been working on? I will be posting the notification and bidding for it here in a few days, since more people are apt to actually see it here.... but I will be posting the final product over at
Scalebutt when it's complete.
I'm also currently working on a ton of telegram stickers, and a bunch of other things. Want to see what I'm working on, and my current commission load?

Rebranding in the New Year - New FA Account coming
Posted 6 years agoHappy New Year everyone!
With the start of a new decade, I've decided it's time to start rebranding myself a bit. I've had this FA account for a very, very long time. Over the years, I've begun to realize that Silverback2001 is a name that people just don't remember. It's also confused people. I've gotten many questions and comments about it. Things like "Oh, you must be a male gorilla!" ....which isn't accurate xx'
When the people you're talking to, are confused about who you are, and what you do, it's bad for marketing. I had an inkling of this and subconsciously tried to get around this with my old Mystic Oasis page, which featured my wood carvings and other non-furry related stuff, but that wasn't quite right either.
I don't really have a name for "what" my fursona is, so I've just started calling myself a "scalebutt" to alleviate some confusion.
Recently I realized the name Scalebutt wasn't taken on FA, and decided to snatch it up. Scalebutt is memorable, and makes people laugh, unlike Silverback2001.
So hello 2020, and hello my new account! - https://www.furaffinity.net/user/scalebutt/
Right now, it's empty, but once I get some things moved over, and some new content ready for it, it'll be my new home on FA. If you want to keep watching, please start watching me over there. I've got a LOT planned for the new year, and I've been drawing more than ever.
Thank you so much for your support over the years. The end of 2018 and a lot of 2019 was rough. I've got high hopes for 2020. Lets make it the best year yet!

My latest project - trashy furry t-shirts
Posted 6 years agoNot a lot to say, other than I decided to get into designing t-shirts for furry cons, etc. Some designs are cute, some will make you blush, or laugh your ass off.

I'm alive, somehow
Posted 6 years agoSo, it's been a long time, but I'm finally getting settled into my new place. It lacks a lot of things that I'd like (like running water) but one way or another, that'll come in time.
I have a new telegram account. If you'd like to talk, or commission me, PM me for that contact information.
As you know, I was dealing with some nasty health issues, physical as well as mental. I can't say my mental health is much better yet, but at least now I have full use of both of my arms.
I am now recovering from heat stroke, after having the bright idea of moving to the South. The good news is that, that basically just means I'm staying behind an air conditioner and drinking lots of fluids regularly. As long as I take care of myself, I'll be fine. (that, and winter is just around the corner, hopefully) This also means I have to not physically exert myself too much. This is actually extremely conducive to drawing and painting and stuff, so I will be regularly available for commission work in all sorts of mediums.
I may also be doing some "housekeeping" around my gallery. We'll see.
Not sure what else to say, so I'll end this here.

Re-opening my Etsy page
Posted 7 years agoNot sure if anyone is interested, but I re-opened my Etsy page, and will be uploading more products there via Printful, and general uploading of my own items. If you aren't familiar with Printful, it's a US-Based manufacturing company that puts your art on clothing products, accessories, and also does professional prints.
At the moment I don't have a ton up there, but I re-created the anteloaf design with printing in mind, and have it featured on a few products.
You can view it all here:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/MysticOasisStudios
If you're outside of the US and want to buy something that doesn't appear available to you, please contact me and we can work it out.
With that said, I'm going to be trying to revitalize my Etsy page over the next month or so. My goal is to have at least 50 things up for sale by the end of the year.
So if you don't see anything that perks your interest now, that could very well change by the end of November.
I'm still hard at work on current commissions as well! I've got a lot of juggling to do!

Streaming and Patreon
Posted 7 years ago At this point, I'm pretty sure it's not possible to stream with my computer.
I am however considering an alternative. There are apparently ways to record my screen, so I can record my painting process. I can't broadcast it live, but I can save it as a video file and upload it as additional content to Patreon or something.
I don't have a Patreon at the moment, but if I made one, and made those videos available on Patreon for a low fee (maybe $5 a month?) is that something people would be interested in?
Any thoughts or suggestions on other things you might want to see?

Open for Commissions, and other news
Posted 7 years agoAs most New Years Resolutions go, draw every day was a bust. Within a month of starting, I got sick, and fell out of the habit I was trying to establish.
The good news is that I'm still here, and I've also started expanding into fursuits :3
Over the past few months, I've been learning how to sew by hand, and I've been researching all sorts of alternative techniques for costume construction. I've honestly come a long way with sewing, and also have some ideas for scaley-suits and patterning techniques that I think would add an extra dimension of realism... but that'll have to wait until I have more money, time, and space to do material and technique testing.
I recently made a skullfox mask using a combination of techniques that I hadn't seen done before. At some point soon, I'll be putting together a tutorial to show how he was brought to life. The result can be seen here:
https://www.facebook.com/MysticOasi.....2925124904959/
You might have seen him at AC :3
In other news, I'm just about done with my current commission load, so I'm opening for commissions again.
I have THREE slots available.
These slots are open for anything from:
Badges
Wood carvings
Fursuit-related bits
Sculpture
3d models
Paintings
Digital Sticker Packs
Or
Anything else that you want, that you think may be within my abilities :3
If you have any questions regarding potential commissions, shoot me a message, and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Either way, I'm going to be uploading more art here soon, as I've got some sketches I'm going to be finishing in my spare time.
Looking forward to become more active on here again, and thank you for your support! <3

New year, new goals
Posted 8 years agoIt's 2018! Happy New year!
I have come a long, long way in the past year. Literally and figurtively. I moved from Oregon to Wyoming, I started fresh in a completely new place, in a completely new environment.. and had no idea how that would turn out.
Several months later, I somehow got commissioned to do more wood carvings, and got a lot more experience doing that. There's been a lot of ups and downs, but for everything else that went wrong in 2017, a lot more has happened that has given me experiences that have helped to better myself as a person and as an artist.
This year, I want to focus on producing a lot more artwork, and push myself to be better and faster at drawing and painting. I've now given myself a dedicated work space, upgraded my monitor from 15" to 25" which is making a HUGE difference in my drawing speed already. In a few days, I'll be getting a mounting bracket to mount it to the wall, which will also help make my workspace that much more efficient.
I still have a lot to do, to make this the workspace I want, but it's definitely a start. 2018 I'll be kicking things up into overdrive.
My new years resolution is to draw "something" every day. So far, I'm doing it, and I plan to continue. I know that even attempting to do this will help me get better and faster at making art. I feel really positive about this, and I'm excited to see what the year will bring.
It feels like the year ahead will be one full of blessings. :3

Terms of Agreement for Commissioners
Posted 8 years ago Attention commissioners!
The following outlines my rules, regulations, and preferences for commissioned work.
Prices:
Prices for commissioned work vary based upon the details of said work. I base my price on a minimum charge of $10.00 USD per hour. More complicated pieces may cost more. Each price quote is based on the details of the individual commission.
Ratings Available:
Any rating. G-X
Content:
Most content is ok, if in doubt ask.
I will NOT draw the following: genital mutilation, pedophilia featuring underage characters in sexual situations, rape (this includes both forcible rape and "date" rape but doesn't include rape play, rape fantasy, or rough sex that looks like rape), scat, corprophilia, menstruation as a fetish, watersports, adult babies and diaper play, inflation, crushing, or extreme medical fetishism.
Payment:
For small commissions, payment in full is required before work will be completed. Large commissions require half to be paid up front as a down payment. If the piece is really large, I would be willing to work out a payment schedule for the remaining balance. If you wish to negotiate the terms of payment, and have a decent history of commissioning and have artists willing to vouch for your reliability, I will consider your offer and be open to discussion.
I will accept the following forms of payment: PayPal, bank certified check, or cash. Work will NOT be started until verification is obtained and funds clear.
Counterfeits & forgeries will be turned over to the police. Any checks that fail to clear the bank for any reason will be turned over to Statewide Collections, Inc. with a $30.00 service fee. As I live in Wyoming, this state's collection laws WILL apply to unpaid items. To be clear: Wyo Statute 1-1-115 states that unpaid checks triple to no less than $130.00 if unpaid for over 30 days. The agency is allowed to and is capable of filing suit for unpaid checks, should they remain unpaid.
If you choose to pay via PayPal, payments must NOT contain any reference to the purpose of the payment, and all communications regarding the commission must take place outside of PayPal.
PayPal is notorious for banning accounts for references to donations, gifts, charity, furry art, adult content, pornography, etc. If you are purchasing digital art from me, list the payment as a service, not a purchase. If you list it as a purchase, I have a legal obligation to physically mail you a product. Digital commissions NOT paid for as a service through Pay Pal will be rejected and the money refunded.
Delivery:
Persons purchasing a traditional media commission will receive the original artwork.
Persons purchasing a digital media commission will be emailed or sent through IM a high quality version of the work they purchased. High resolution files will not be released until the artwork has been approved, and all payments have been received.
Communication:
FA notes, Telegram: SilviaLupin
Updates:
Regular updates on your commission are available. Updates are frequent, usually every couple of days unless otherwise specified.
Behavior:
I am a friendly person, but the purchase of a commission is a business transaction. It is NOT an invitation to roleplay, it is not the beginning of an intimate relationship, and it is most definitely not an excuse for you to hit on me. Please keep communications professional and appropriate. If you have a problem with me OR my work ethic (or even my work itself) please take it up with me in a private forum (email, notes, IM) and don't drag yourself through the proverbial mud and take me with you. It's embarrassing to yourself as well as to me.
Refunds:
The first payment on a two part payment (or more) commission, is to be considered a nonrefundable deposit to begin work.
If I have begun work on your commission, and you would like a refund, please inform me. Depending on your circumstances/reasons we may be able to work out an alternate payment plan if you have need of one.
If I have not started on work, and you request a refund, it will be given without question.
Rights:
As an artist, I have the right to be treated courteously. I have the right to make a fair wage for my work. I retain the copyright for my work. I retain the right to post it online or include it in my portfolio. I agree that you own the work you purchased and will not use any commissioned artwork for prints or other merchandise.
As a customer, you have the right to receive prompt, fair service. You also have the right to be treated courteously. You have the right to distribute but not alter my work, provided you give me credit for it. You have the right to upload it to your websites, display it on your wall, and show it off to your friends. You do not, however, have the right to use said commissioned work to manufacture merchandise (such as prints, t-shirts, posters, coffee mugs) and sell them for profit UNLESS you specifically negotiate for this intention when you initially approach me for commission. Prices will be adjusted accordingly. You also retain the rights to your own character. I realize that just because I draw your character doesn't mean I have any rights to reproduce artwork of that character. I do however retain the right to display work in my gallery that I have been commissioned to do, unless agreed to otherwise.
Purchase of artwork or commissions by me is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions, and furthermore implies agreement to the oral contract these terms lay out.

Respect
Posted 8 years agoSo, some of you may be wondering where I've been. Truth is, I had some awful shit happen to me, and it upset me for quite a while. This led me to leave the furry community, and a lot of people behind. Someone here hurt me deeply, who I had thought was a friend.
I had been screwed over by a housemate that left me, and this individual offered to help me in exchange for doing a logo design for them. I worked for several days on it, to the exclusion of all else. I finished it...and they offered to pay me the next day...and they didn't. I lost my home, because I trusted that person, used up valuable time, and waited for money that never came.
As a result, I've had to change policies about how I work. I'm not happy about it. I like to trust people. I think there isn't enough trust in the world. It upsets me that this person thought that what they did to me was ok.
There's some fantastic people in the furry community, who I'm happy to know. Being around them has encouraged me to try this whole thing again... to try to be a part of the community again, re-open for commissions, and set healthy boundaries for myself and others.
I do art because I am disabled. Some days I can't walk. Some days my PTSD is so bad, I don't want to even go outside. I'm not asking for sympathy.. just understanding and respect that drawing, painting, sculpting, carving... all of the forms of art I do, it's my job. I'm working on getting my shit together to officially apply for disability... but if I don't have to, I don't want to. It feels like giving up. I don't like giving up. I've always been a fighter, despite everything else.
So, hi. I'm Silv. I'm taking this step to try to let people into my life again, and to be a part of the community. I hope we can be friends.

Hello
Posted 10 years agoNot sure if anyone still knows me around these parts, but after a long hiatus, I've decided to re-enact my account here.
Pardon my dust while I clean out my gallery a bit, and get things organized.
If you're still around, hello, and thank you for your patience. I'll have more uploaded soon, and am also getting a Patreon going. There will be chances to win prints of recent work, and other nifty prizes, as well as access to super secret galleries and or high res coloring pages :)
If you're new here, then welcome, and I hope you enjoy the work that I put my heart and soul into.
