Love Death and Robots
General | Posted 6 years ago...Wow
Fave's have been Episodes 1, 4, 8, 10 and 13.. haven't watched beyond that.
I would highly recommend those ones especially but the whole series is well worth a binge on, thanks to
Darena_Bryant for tipping me off.

Cartoon Network .. what the fuck.
General | Posted 7 years agoGrowing up i watched thundercats.. and it was enjoyable, decently written episodes, realistic animation and well thought through..
Then i saw the intros for the new series, thanks to
dracosblackwing

WTF Cartoon network.. what the actual F**K are you doing?
I feel sorry for the kids having to watch this , teaches them nothing about integrity and reduces it to the dumbest jokes period. Cartoons are yes meant to be funny, but some also carried character building messages.. these days it's all fart jokes and encouraging stupidity.

General | Posted 7 years agoFlu = sick as a dog
General | Posted 8 years agoYup.. this mutt got the 'aussie flu' everyone is talking about.
Drip down the throat, head feels full of sawdust and unable to concentrate / focus. but by far the worst symptoms is the overwhelming fatigue.
I'm not the fittest guy in the world, but working on cars and engineering has always kept me in trim.. but when you feel like you've got a lead suit on all day, and doing even the simplest things like taking a shower leaves you needing to rest for 20 mins.. something is not right.
Either way, the doc's said i have to rest till the 18th.. oh yey...

Tooth Operation in the morning - <internal screaming>
General | Posted 8 years agoYes.. this mutt is getting an operation to repair a long standing problem. Said problem is a post crown in my upper jaw which has been continually coming loose and after 16 years of having to put up with it, it's coming out for the last time.
I'm getting a tooth implant, basically a titanium screw into my upper jaw , which in 3 months will have a post crown installed.
For now i'm getting something temporary, which means i can't bite into anything really with it for the next 6 weeks for the moment :/ It genuinely scares me as this'll be the first time I've gone under the knife, let alone full sedation (not quite a General antisetec but close enough) not to mention the needles.
Either way.. there's that and the bill is painful. it'll put a dent in my house deposit fund but hopefully this'll put an end to 16 years of pain, annoyance and being unable to eat properly.

35 years old today

Posting this very early, and half asleep :V

Soon to be 35 and soon to get a screw in one's skull.
General | Posted 8 years agoAnd so, yeah this mutt's getting older.
Though finally considering getting on the housing ladder though it's still going to take another year or so before I've saved the deposit, unless i get stupidly lucky on the lottery, but so far I've managed to get 1/4 of the way to the target before the end of this year, so hoping to get to 40% of the overall target for this year.
It's been a slog, and will continue to do so but it'll be worth it in the end.
In other news, I've got a set of camshafts on order for the BMW.. should make around 245-250bhp mark which will be nice. And managed to bag a new desk for a damned good price, which finally replaces the rickety POS I've had to put up with for the past 10 years. Pictures to follow...
The final part of this journal is the fact I'm going to be undergoing dental surgery in November to repair a broken tooth. Well more a case of replace it with a titanium screw and a crown over the next 4-5 months which will end 15 years of pain and trouble eating.

Well good news and not so good news
General | Posted 9 years agoGood news, I've bagged a new job.. quite the good one too, 3 miles from home, better pay and absolutely brilliant pension amongst the benefits.
Not so good news - it's going to be another 2 weeks or so before I'm back to work (frustrating) and running low on funds. The redundancy money's taking it's time to arrive, and had to do a bit of freelance work, though that's taking time to get paid.
I'll get back onto the grindstone just it maybe a bit longer, though given I'm suffering another cold (2nd on in a few weeks) this should give me time to get recovered.

Well .. fuck.. 2 years comes to an end.
General | Posted 9 years agoAka.. this mutt just got laid off with immediate effect.
Before you ask why? nothing to do with me, was outside my control as the company went bust overnight.
Either way, for the forseable future this mutt's back on the job hunting train, though already got some leads for high profile companies and will be chasing these up.
Keep your fingers crossed :/

General | Posted 9 years agoWell, today would be this mutt's 34th birthday
Seen some new developments, been out to Germany again since last year, and considering a few new options if things work out at work.
To all my friends' whom have stuck by and supported me through the last year thank you so much for the support and advice, and here's to the next year, who knows if things work out, I might finally make an appearance at one of the big cons in 2017.

Deciding when and where to go in the US
General | Posted 10 years agoRight.. this is something i've been wanting to do for a LONG time.. but finally looks like this year, providing i can also get a payrise at work... I am looking to plan my summer holiday.
Now the question is, I have no idea where to go, outside the usual touristy spots, I've been to NY a few times but only on stopovers between flights. I could do west coast or east coast, but I'll only have about 2 weeks or so for this trip. Thinking i do EAst coast this year, and west coast next year perhaps.
The main question isn't so much where to go, but WHO's willing to let me drop in on them for a few days, though I'm planning to be staying at hotels where possible.
Wouldn't mind suggestions or such in the comments :o

On the final day of 2015, some updates and thoughts
General | Posted 10 years agoWell.. that was 2015.
First off to kick off, finally got to see Star Wars - the Force awakens... and holy crap. I did NOT see that coming! D: I won't spoil it for those whom haven't seen it yet, but there is a bombshell moment that left me reeling.
Besides that, 2015 has seen me settle into a new workplace.. and this time for once I won't be changing jobs yet again, a first in 6 years of contracting and such. This has meant i can at last finally start putting money aside and back in August finally did 2 things on my bucket list; See a round of the Formula 1 Championship in Belgium and drive the Nurburgring some of the high points in the past year.
However with the highs, come the lows, with November being the death of a friend of mine from university and my time at Dunlop Motorsport. The guy was quiet but also one of the best guys anyone could meet, and had his life tragically cut short at only 30. Considering he'd had a heart replacement 15 years prior, it was a sudden shock to hear of his passing.
This coming new year, things hopefully will improve with a long overdue appraisal at work and fingers crossed pay rise.. a possible return to the Nurburgring, though that may be delayed as I'd like to finally get myself over to the states for a long overdue holiday and fingers crossed... meeting a few old friends in the process. And finally, start the process of actually getting a deposit together for my own house.
Have a Happy 2016 everyone.

Paris.. and updates
General | Posted 10 years agoWell waking up on a serial morning.
Thoughts are with the families caught up in the mess in Paris, and those who'm suffered cause of a few pieces of scum who can't be classed as human anymore decided to go on a rampage.
To compound the problems, there was an earthquake off Japan, thankfully no damage / injuries from the news there and the people i know that way are fine. But the biggest news for me was a loss of a friend, someone i'd worked with both at university then a few years later when i was working at Dunlop Motorsport, even as far as 2 teams (we were supporting each one) going head to head for 2nd place at Le Mans.
He'd survived 2 heart transplants from what he'd said.. but had recently had a turn for the worse in his health , which ended yesterday suddenly.
RIP Tim.. hope you're enjoying being with the greats in motorsports. You were one of the genuine nice guys.

Another year down, to many more, This mutt turns 33 Today
General | Posted 10 years agoWell, this mutt finally made it to 33 years old.
Have to say the last year has finally settled down for me, no more contracting and into a decent job means I can focus on things and hopefully save up for my own place.
Though in the last year I've managed to do a few things i've been wanting to do, including doing a few track days including the Nordschliefe and Silverstone, seen a F1 race in person and traveled some more.
Hoping this coming year.. I finally get to meet a few people in person, even if it does mean flying round the world to do so.

General | Posted 10 years agoWell, in about 4 hours, this mutt's heading off with a friend to the Green Hell, that's the Nurburgring to anyone who's not in the know.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BCrburgring
Followed up with some touring round Germany to see the sights, then back to Belgium for the F1 round at Spa.
I'll have limited access though should have wireless at the hotels we're staying at, just once I'm at Spa no real wifi.
So should be back in a week and a bit with some pictures and stories.
