Just got the news my old man's probably going in for open heart surgury in the not so distant future...

His chance's are high, he's had no problems when having his nose fixed and his knees done but open heart surgury is a bit more up the scale

Ok it's only 1-2% he'll have problems, and on the whole he'll more than likely pull though but it's something that's got me worried.

Well, it's the end of another year and it's been an interesting one to boot.

Achievements this year:
I've managed to finish 2 years of my degree, and gainfully got a placement at SKF.
I spent 2 months with another race team, worked on a Nissan NPT90 but got screwed over on money again... and got ousted.
I managed to get another race team job with a Formula Ford team not as a mechanic, but as a Race engineer.
Our Class 1-200 Team in Formula Student won for the 3rd year on the trot, making it a double for myself.
I've done my first drift event, not once but twice. Found out to my surprise i'm better than i expected.
The BMW's been improved mostly (bar the noisy starter, no thanks to the morons at the clutch place)
I'm more relaxed now than i was at the start of the year.
I'm closer to a good few friends I think, and made a few good ones.

Things i'd rather forget
Someone who shall i never name, but never wish to see again after having to live with them for 10 months, THANKS for f**king up my confidence in women again...
The idiots who messed me and the good people about on the course. Hopefully they'll have pulled their socks up or failed the course.
All this economy bullcrap, if people didn't loose their heads so easily, then it may have not been such a big deal.


2009 Aims:
To continue doing well at my degree, hopefully to get a reasonably good final grade (2.1 would be nice!)
To complete an entire race season with this race team and hopefully do well (Since I'm not in Formula Student this year)
To TRY and get out more and maybe meet a few more people who likes me for who i am (Qwerks and all :P )
Find / meet a few women! (Lets see if i can break the duck before I'm 27!) <--- YES!
Go drifting a bit more now that the BMW's getting close to being completed (Few bushes, maybe new shocks and springs but thats all!)

Well i passed my F grade and got it to an E2, it's not much but it's a pass, since then i've been to Formula Student, won again (2nd year round for me, 3rd for the university.)

And now at SKF bearings doing a year out. Though on a week off fixing the car for the MOT again...

Sides that, little to talk about, i get up, go to work, go home and veg out. My life is the same as always and i'm pretty tired of this.. -.-
Life blows and it's tough when you've got few friends to talk to away from the PC, I'm just... a waste of space at the moment. I just wish someone had the means to come visit or something cause i'm feeling pretty down..

I've never had a decent PC in all my years...

Usually i always spent out on other things but with this semester's bursery I decided it was high time that this PC issue was finally resolved. So with a budget of about £600 I gave my brother the budget and said "Go nuts.."

and.. o_o

He built this spec:
AMD 3.0GHZ Duel Core 64bit CPU
Gigabyte Motherboard with 8.1 Surround sound on board
4GB 2600 RAM
MSI Geforce NX8800GT 512MB Video card
80 GB Raptor HDD
Antec 900 Gamer case

Plus my 250GB SATA drive and the DVD burner from my old PC

And i have to say this thing absolutely flys! Setup took half the time i'd have expected and things like Doom 3 and SL look incredible!
SL i'm used to about 3-8 FPS average, 12 on a good day...

This thing... is pulling 25fps average and i've seen 44fps at one stage... and this is with ONE card... I'm pondering a second.. already! XD

Just been called back from SKF bearings...

I got the placement! I do need to go back to go over the details but they've said they're want to offer me the placement :D

Does look really interesting and something i'd enjoy i hope..

Also means MONEY and a possible holiday to the states!

Well that's the end of that one, seems I'm NOT good enough to work at that race team i was working for since they refused to help me out when i was financially broke , by that i mean I didn't even have enough money to even cover bills!

Ended up borrowing money from the parents (Which i HATE doing since they're not in a good way themselves...) and managed to finally get paid from some temp work but not till after a race weekend had gone past.

The result was that i ended up finding out the week after they'd brought in another guy who'd been working on a kart team for a number of years, which left me surplus to requirements and thusly tossed out...

Nice and convenient eh? ¬_¬

This is why I'm getting tired of the whole deal and looking at other possibilities for jobs, one interview i had for a placement job went a LOT better than I'd hoped.. just hoping that'll turn up something finally since it's local to home (40 min drive tops) and something i'd quite easily sink my teeth into :D

Well, few bits of news.

Firstly I'm now on a 3 week break from university (yey!) which means less stress from roomies, also means i can focus on getting some work done for assignments due afterwards.

Spend 2 days in the workshop and got the Class 200 car back to some semblance of a car, be it a lot cleaner and tidier. It's almost there now.

Job wise I've got 2 more interviews, one for SKF bearings and another for Mitsubishi Parts (placement jobs) so hopefully something might work out there. Still working at my team job (yey!) and possibilities of going to Le Mans are still there! :D :D :D

AND managed to bag a job working at a DJ equipment place for 2 weeks. £8 an hour for fixing and testing the equipment from returns... basically..

I get to make lots of noise with a friend and get paid for it! XD BEST JOB EVER!

For myself: Finish the Manta project, refresh the BMW completely and maybe get myself something diesel to get about in. A average house with a HUGE workshop and outfit it so i can service, tune and modify my cars well and friends.
